DIRECTORS NOTE:

What began as a full-fledged horror flick, slowly evolved and turned into... The Lonely Piano.
This is my first endeavor with this type of film, and sincerely hope that all of you enjoy the tale that unfolds in the film.

I know that this is in horror, but I felt horror to be the most suitable genre... for, as we know, the game has limited genre's to choose from.

Also, any feedback is greatly appreciated :)
Please note, that you may have to turn up your volume :)

Thanks for watching!

There is only one word for this m8...'Brilliant'. It kept me gripped all the way...wanting to know exactly WHAT the piano was doing there. Brilliant narration to0 and also a decent knowledge of musical composers...Mozart...Beathoven...Scott Joplin. Very nicely done. Awesome!

What a beautiful, sentimental, meaningful little film you have created here, absolutely heartfelt.

Kind of sad, with a sense of endorsement, I find this film to be more a romance/drama, other than a horror, yet it, as I realise you categorised slightly correct, that it has a daunted mellow to it, well done.

You can't see or hear me, but I'm clapping. Keep making films!

You should have put flashbacks in! Still, you don't get child actors...are you listening, Lionhead?

That was terrific, I could see that phychological touch to it. You also included different elements in it, for instance romantic, sadness and even strangness, which was really pleasant to watch. With a storyline such as this, you can possibly get the audience confused, but you made it so understandable, it even makes me wonder how you made your storyline so clear.

Also great work on the voiceover, especially the narrator (Od), great clearness to the voices. Overall it was excellent, intruging movie and there is certainly an ending to die for.

Ohhh nice job! This was very interesting, and you kept me guessing throughout the film. This movie had a strange, artistic, eerie, almost romantic mood to it-that was very different! Keep up the great work! :)

NOW THAT WAS ASTONISHING!!!!
WOW!!!!!!
You should become a story writer.
and that movie could be a great movie for dvd,
if it was an hour and a half long at least,
even though it was not an hour and a half,
that was a GREAT movie...
especially for the movies game...
I know that movies on here are not an hour and a half,
but if that one was I would watch it over and over again and again,
the music, the set, the props, the story line, all of it....
WOW!!!

GREAT JOB!!!

PLEASE KEEP UP THE WONDERFUL WORK!!!

FOR SURE GETS 5 HUGE STARS!!!

An interesting movie.

This was very moving. It was good to see you make a small, serious, dramatic film. About time ;). Not only was the narration and story good, the set dressing was also on the same level, not to mention the music. I think you've done well.

Overall,a very good film and I think one word sums this up, (take the piss out of this or not) but this was a very beautiful type of film...and I'm not going to say any more ;p.

Good work Andy, you should be proud.

Good story and great music to accompany the emotion...On some occassions I felt it wouldn't have hurt to either lower the volume on the music or raise it on my VO's, but it was still understandable and that's what matters. I also would have liked to see a bit more of a cut in-between the events to keep that "Horror" tension up (even if you didn't strictly intend this to be a horror, it wouldn't have hurt to make it a little more creepy in the pacing, which I felt was too quick for this type of movie - When recording my lines, I figured you'd cut my narration into seperate segments so that there could be pauses, or otherwise I would have in-between sentences longer). Still, it was enjoyable on all fronts and that's what counts, so good work!

Great stuff, Andy - well written story, strong narration (both in the writing and in Orky's delivery), perfect choice of music, and a real stretch from your usual films.

Who knew you had such depth!

Well, I enjoyed that - nice story.
Well written; some slightly jarring moments, but that will change with practice and experience.
A brave thing to do, and you did it very well.

A truly emotionally gripping piece of filmmaking. I was initially turned off by the constant narration--I hoped to have the story conveyed through dialogue and action, but as I got pulled into this I didn't mind it so long as it kept the plot unfolding. The choice of piano pieces was brilliant as they effectively evoked the emotions the narrator was describing. You definitely have a talent for a wide range of genres. I have no idea what you'll come up with next, but whatever it is, I'll be sure to be there when it's released.

INCREDIBLE ... Sweden lost a hockey game against USA. Im so sad. That is Feelings and your human touch showned here moved me. For you get it. Music is the will to express yourself across the universe.

That is how you say it, and no one could say it better.

OD-Ork-Boy did an outstanding job and your direction worked miracles. Thank you for this piece of mind. I can only imagine what you will come up with next.

A very spooky atmosphere with a great twist at the end. Loved the music; I wish I knew how to play piano...

Great mods, Orky did some top-notch narrating, and I liked the freecam.

Haunting and beautiful at the same time.

Beautiful!

That's how to describe the whole movie. OD-Ork-Boys voice acting, the use of mods, the music of cause and the story, just beautiful!

I also liked the message at the end, to appreciate all music not just the music of the time. That speaks directly out of my heart! Nearly every teenager nowadays listens to Hip Hop/Rap or maybe heavy metal/hard rock and they all focus on that one kind of music. I think that's just sad! I am a teenager too, but I do think that there are good musical pieces in every genre of music, if it's jazz, blues, soul, Rap, Classic, Rock, Metal... the list goes on and on and in every of those genres you will find good songs or songs you like or bad songs/songs you dislike.(good/bad is very loosely because people certainly have a different taste)

Very well done Andy!

Haunting and yet, incredibly moving...
This tale of a man and a lonely piano touches the soul.
Wonderfully narrated by OD-Ork-Boy, in a style that reminded me strongly of Castigo's Sleeping City, the plot follows a very original idea which has become one of my TMO all time favourites!
Excelent work, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Poor piano. :(

A fascinating, and wonderful movie you put together here, Andy. Orky's narration went along perfectly with the lovely melodies, and other music coming from the piano. I was entertained the entire time.

Nice work, Andy!

5 stars all the way!

Absolutely loved the originality of the story. Narrator was intense almost to a fault (ran very fast steamrolling all nuance..take a breath man..but he definitely had my attention). That line at the 3:43 mark (about the cupboard and such) was more than a little out of left field and wasnt really revisited later in the flick and felt out of place as a result. However, the resolution was excellent and visually I really liked this. Great editing and set dressing. Excellent work. Loved the subtle horror vibe mixed with..I dont really know what. Very original.

The Lonely Piano is a fitting narrative tale!!

You managed to successfully tell a short story effectively with great dialogue and cinematography. Orky's lines were very suited to the role and the story played out very well.

This piece was a joy to watch and has confirmed your status as a highly versatile film-maker. It is refreshing to see numerous styles of film come from your studio and look forward to your next project, whatever it may be.

Until then...

Nuke Well on the Piano!!!

That was quite a tale andy. Orky did an amzing job as the Narrator and the music fit quite well into the movie. The use of the set dressing was also well done. Overall good movie :)

As a tuba, trumpet, and euphonium player. I know the power of music is like a hypnotic spell and I understood all of it. The music just pierced into my ears and I fall into a hypnotic spell just like Michael. With a just and strong dialouge and impressive free-cam. This movie is both a symphony to the ears and eyes.

Very nice narrative short story. I loved watching it from beginning to end and was pulled in with the voice acting of OD-Ork-Boy.
The entire story was excellent, you came up with some great stuff in this one. Some strong and great dialogue. I loved the main character's name :D

You also got some interesting camera angles that I enjoyed seeing. I love the ending camera angle as it shows the piano then rises up and up until your outside and see the sky in the background, now thats cool. Some good use of mods in this one including the one you did yourself. Also a good introduction overlay too.

Music in the short narrative was outstanding! I listen to rock all the time but its nice to turn things around and listen to some classical/jazzy music for a bit. I enjoyed all the music you used in "The Lonely Piano", all very nice and went well with what was being said.

Very excellent short film from you Mr. Andy_inc and I look forward to seeing whatever else you throw at TMO! :P
