I liked it better than the new remake cuz the real movie was to long lol Awsome dialouge i have interst in the filmaker character dont get the quick love between Jack and the girl but who cares loved the King Kong growl at end lol 5/5

Great movie pooka. I loved the sound effects and the boat it was all just perfect! Like the real movie!

Pros: The mods, the story. How the ship gets lost. Everything was pretty much amazing

Cons: THe kissing scene was a bit cheesy. They dont even know each other and they start to make out? Haha. And the music for that scene didnt fit in too well. This part of the movie was a bit dull and draged.

Overall: IT was good, Ive seen better from you. The next part looks great and I cannot wait!

The best version I have seen on TMO. However, it felt like Peter Jackson's version; long, rather dull, and more attention to visuals and special stuff than actual plot. I've seen better from you. However, at the rate it is going, I wouldn't be surprised if part two turns out to be much better.

4 stars from the Archaic Review Board

I decided to see this because my co-host wanted me too, I knew the film would be good, but not THIS good!

The mods work perfectly, and you have made me like a movie that was basicly just talking!

I have never loved a film with talking on its own like this one!

Wow, wow, wow.

The ship was very beleivable, and I think that this is now a film that I will put down on my studio page saying I am a fan of King Kong (Part 1) By Pookashells.

Thanks for making my quater of an hour such a thrilling time.

Not 5*s because not original. With this studios talent, you should be creating great movies, not re-creating.

Very impressive. Fantastic VO work by everyone. Very well put together in every aspect. I'll be interested to see part-2! Congrats to everyone involved with this. Very entertaining. Continued success.

Could you please review my movie: Zombie Island. Thanks.

Wow! You've summarized the first hour of Peter Jackson's film into twelve minutes! Good movie so far. The cast did a fine job in this film. I hope to see part 2 soon!

It was vary good i liket it just one thing the ship set where they drive the ship was not that good of a set it looket like it was a SI-FI set in number/Part two get a better set for the driver set but the deck set was good and the prop ship was good too but you have to get a new driver set good jod

Thought I would decide and watch this one.

Can I firstly say, as this is the second film I've seen from you over the past couple of months, I really like how you visualize the screen into a very cinematic look and feel. Again with the visuals, top job. Nice acting with some good dialog. Definetly reminds you of the remake with Jack Black and Naomi Watts, well because its a very similar story line ;p. Nice set dressing and music.

Overall, very good and highly entertaining. You've pulled it off well Worth a watch. Looking interested in Part2...

Good job!

WINNING REVIEW
KING KONG (PART 1) EXPORT 1 winner of "hippiekings freaking awesome award"
Congradulations.

Now as you can tell I liked this movie. And now I know I'm not alone! That was absoulutely fantastic. Really BRAVO!!!!!! Truly perfect. Really great character development along with perfect VO's. Your voice over cast was truly great. As many people have said I loved really got into it. The 20's feel was with me because of your props, costumes, and modding. You and I know this 75 people are waiting right now for patrt two, which I think is truly amazing.
Opening credits were very wierd but interesting along with some cool music.
I really got into this film. What else can I say....um....you won my...uh award and stuff so um.....uh...good modding, good film, good voice overs, good everything.

really looking forward to part 2

This is an amazing The Movies version of the classic King Kong.

I must admit, the VO's and mods were stunning. But what let it down for me was that you basically used the exact script from Peter Jackson's King Kong. I think it would have been better if you had coume up with a few more lines of your own, still, a great film, very entertaining.

Yes! I was wary of watching this one because I am a bit critical when it comes to this particular story. But pookashells along with cast and crew have nailed it so far. Very much anticipating the next chapter! Nicely done!

Since the beginning of this project, that would be when you made the production thread of this movie, I knew that this would be at the number one chart in a long time. And that's what it did, I had right. Nearly right, could you say. It has'nt been on the top SO long, yet, but I'm very sure it will.

I have to admit to having my doubts about this movie. We all know King Kong's been done before. But you've managed to do it particularly well. The look and feel of the whole thing was brilliant. The acting was superb (you even managed to get Worf of the bridge!!! OK, ok... that's probably just my overactive imagination.) And the music (what there was of it) fit perfectly.

I'd also like to mention the end... the tension you managed to portray was very, very well done!

Go Kong!!

It was put together astoundingly in terms of VOs, extra sects, etc. But the plot was wripped off... and you didn't even explain it well... like why did she kiss him when she hardly knew him... this would need to be longer to be understandable.

But in terms of Vos and custom work.... it was beautiful.

How did you do it? Really good movie...What did you get in the real place??? Please answer [someone] and tell me how you do the weird writing at the start and how the people talk english and things like that...Pleaseeeee!!!!!

Technical this movie was good, but it is just a remake of big, long blockbuster and as this it doesn't work. Character development too fast, much too fast. Just take the scene with Driscol and Ann where they kiss each other...
And the ship sail? Not even worth to mention. All wrapped up in 12 minutes, doesn't work for me. Still the idea is good and your project is one worth to watch, but seriously you could have skipped all these and started by the exploring of the island, would have been a way more interesting I bet.

Wow, simply amazing. Superb VOs, they actually fit the mouths. The only thing is that, since watching the new King Kong, I can't see it without Jack Black being Denim. But otherwise it was a good movie. I hope the Sci-Fi that I am making will be good, too. I am making a trailer this weekend, and if you have time, I would appreciate if you could give it a look. Please and thanks.

Pooka you are becoming better and better with every film you make! This version of King Kong is very well done especially by the voice actors and from the technical view! The visuals are just pure eye candy with the rain and the ship and the beautiful set dressing...

It is very well done, the mods är great, the VO's are clear and very well delivered by the actors, but my problem with this movie is that so many lines have been copied from the real thing. It took the fun out of watching the movies for me, I'm afraid.

Stunning! Oodles of atmosphere is what drives this movie. The realistic sound and fantastic performances by your talented cast really drive this classic story ahead and draw the viewer into the world of 1930's Horror/Adventure.
Some truly inspiring camera-work and editing gives the movie an incredibly realistic and original appearence.
Can't wait for part two, congrats on a great start!

Well this was better than what I had expected. You really did a nice job on introducing the characters and letting us all know what was going on. VOs in part 1 were excellent. Love all the mods you used in this first part. Great job on the retextured room and making a dock. The ship looked wonderful and the fog overlay gave out the eery feeling. A really great beginning, looking forward to part 2 and seeing the big hairy ape....

At Last! It´s released after all the wait and hype. It was no disapointment. The directing and cinematagrophy is some of the finest we´ve seen on TMO. The script is pretty well written. And the VA´s are just amazing. Great Work!

Wow, really impressive. Everything was perfect to a T. Some awesome performances, but Mefune's was definitely a standout for me. The details were spot on, and the music was killer. The music for the opening credits was really freaky but fit right in perfectly. I can not wait for part two of this one Pook.

Wow Pooka! That was well epic. It reminds me of Cleopatra Parts 1 and 2 in quite a few ways, the amazing production value for one, the way that MGM told that story in his own way given the material and you've done that here too!!!!
Fantastic vo's, music, sound-effects and much more!!!
The best bit had to be when the ship hit the rocks, very well executed there!
Great stuff. I'm really looking forward to the next Part!!!
Can't wait to see Part 2!!! Booyah!!!
Overall: A very nice adaptation of King kong, a really epic little movie.

Technically excellent, it's more a remake of Peter Jackson's version than the original so far, with excellent acting, sound design, mods and music aplenty.

Did I spot a sly wink and a nod to Steven Kreg's version as well?
"I'm gonna find a girl even if I have to marry her!" - then there she is, a woman who looks exactly like Steven Kreg's star - "No!" - apparently not. This is to be the first King Kong with a dark-haired heroine. Just as in Jackson's remake, it wouldn't be surprising if some in-jokes were put into the film.

In this first episode I enjoyed the creak of the ship's timbers, the lashing of the rain and the performances, especially the Captain (he was very good in the fog scene) and Ann. It was moody stuff - there was a nice shot out of the boat's window where we see it leaving the harbour.

I'm always on the lookout for anachronisms in period films - and this one produced one in nearly the opening shot - the camera chooses to zoom slowly in on a modern phone box. I also couldn't help wondering why the streets were deserted, was this going to be a tale which starts at the end and gets told in flashback?
"No" seems to be the answer. We'll put it down to the atrocious bad weather. (Plus nobody's invented a miniature car yet for set dressing the mini city)

I didn't spot any other obvious anachronisms, so that's good going.

A very good first episode no doubt. So far, in technical terms, it is as far ahead of Steven Kreg's classic as Jackson's was ahead of the original.

PS. The film is beautifully in synch ;) I'm pleased JazzX Research was able to contribute positively to the problem solving element of this project.

A visually incredible and ground-breaking TMO experience, with breath-taking scenery, beautiful mood and tone-setting and a splendid crash scene that sets up part two nicely. Better than the origianal which, while it is an amazing film for its age, is about 20 gasquillion years old, is in black and white and king kong is a differant height in different scenes. As good as the new version? I'd say not but some would disagree. You really get to know the characters and I look forward to p2.

I really enjoyed this first part. It moves along at a nice clip, introduces
the characters (who portray each part to perfection)and sets up the next bit, which hopefully will involve a lot of screaming for Part 2.

The pacing was very good and each scene had a nice momentum.
I hope to catch part 2 soon.. when's that out .. next week? :)

This is perhaps the pinnacle KING KONG movie on TMO! ===K4===

I'm basing this off of Part 1 and from what I've seen, it is a movie to go 'ape' all over again. It all comes together masterfully under the direction of Pookashells. Very entertaining and enjoyable! 5 BANANAS....er.. I mean 5 STARS.

I'm not a huge fan of "remakes", though I have to say that I have often wondered how the movie that sold me on The Movies, Steven Kreg's King Kong, would be if it was made with today's state-of-the-art.

A familiar tale, certainly, but I can't gig you for the familiarity of the tale - I knew it would be going in - and your work in bringing this familiar tale to life is outstanding - from a technical and cinematic perspective, and from the performances of your fine voice cast in bringing the characters to life.

It's atmospheric, with fine attention to detail - sure, it's a remake, and unless Kong beams down from the mothership in part two, I have a pretty good idea of what happens next and where it all ends - but sometimes the journey is enough.

I'm sorry, but I don't get it. Don't get me wrong; I love a slow start, I love exposition, I love a story.
But this? I don't tend to watch h many movies in RL I've seen before. I watched this like it was a repeat. Not a bad repeat, but I knew everything that was coming next; I'd been there. Technically good I'm sure, apart from the huge dichotomy be'twixt upper and lower decks. but I honestly don't get the point of "re-telling" or "re-imaginings". Why bother? Tell a tale that's yours.

GREETINGS FROM L.M.A.O. STUDIOS!

Brilliant!

Love the ratio and cinematography. I Adored the long pacing. Thoroughly enjoyed the performances.

This first installment truly impressed me. The attention to detail and hard work are very apparent. The transitions between scenes and time lapse effect, really work flawlessly. The script, dialog and story flow were fun, professional and entertaining.

That was absolutely brilliant! That was so much better than Peter Jackson's King Kong! It finished with me wanted the next part to be released as soon as possible! I can't fault that film at all. The modded sets were brilliant and I can't wait to see the huge ape in the next part.

The performances were outstanding. Each actor fit their parts perfectly. The direction was top notch, as was the editing. My only problem with this would be the script. Whilst I am a big fan of the original 1933 version and the 2005 version, I was really hoping that you would make this one be more original. Instead, I found myself saying the dialogue as they said it. Five stars for the wonderful performances, sets, direction, editing, pace, music, etc.

An ambitious undertaking that only a very experienced film maker should take on. Overseeing all of the components that were needed to give us this level of craftsmanship shows your skills and talents. This review is as much of a warning and a goal setter to us just beining to make films as it is a compliment to all those involved. Well done cast, crew, director.

King Kong (Part One) is an atmospheric adventure filled with adventure and danger ahead!!!

I think your adaptation stayed true to it's original feel with some great cinematography!! There was some excellent motion picturesque moments that stuck out in my mind after watching this. From the strikingly vivid shots of the ship at harbour with a storm looming to the brilliantly shot crash at the end, you provided a unique and distinctive experience.

You demonstrated some good attention to detail with great use of sfx to convey a realistic ambience. Many aspects like the ship's feint engine sounds to the typewriter to weather effects and the finale sequence really gave this movie a gritty feel to it. Even the Diner scene had subtle use of crowd ambience to fill the mood of the place.

I think the use of the aspect ratio overlays added to the uniqueness of the film, particularly with the long shots of the ship and the island, however there were times when I felt a little claustraphobic when it came to a few of the close shots, which at times came across as cropping a little too much. This however was a minor issue I had and overall it did not detract from my viewing and enjoyment experience.

You assembled a diverse and capable cast that all did a good job delivering their lines and it will be interesting to see their development over the next few parts.

This Part felt a little abrupt to me as just as I got into it, it left me wanting so much more. I would have loved to see the story continue with perhaps a double lengthed version of 24 mins? but I do know the time and effort that takes to make a movie these days so I will have to patiently wait the next part! :-)

Overall, Part One has laid down the distinctive foundations of this adventure and I look forward to seeing how you adapt the rest of the story, until then...

Nuke Well on Skull Island!!!!

Impressive! Such masterful camera work and realistic dialogue! Excellent pannign shots of the boat, and ingeneous use of the space props as well. A lot of the scenes were very fresh, and amazing sound design, althought the rain did sound a bit soft for the amount that was actually falling, but I believe it was still a good level as anything's better than the default in-game rain sfx.
Hopefully Pt. 2 will be just as impressive!
