Thebiz earns a 5. I read other reviews and am somewhat disappointed in some not being able to accept the sad, musing, "this is the way it its" thoughts of the film.
Very sensitive & astute observation of human beings.
The slow walking pace of the character stages the film very well.
Superb blue screen & scene work. The drab ambience & sadness of background score was brillant. Exceptionally done. Old people like me appreciate such reflections from the younger.

This could have been good, except there wasn't anything really to it. It was just a dragged out whinge about a non-existent problem. nd if it was meant to be funny, I'm afraid the humour missed by quite a bit.

I liked this. Great VO, pacing, editing and free cam. This was entertaining to me and me lol. Good work and good luck in the contest.

It wasn't that funny.

Other than that, it looked great. The custom opening and closing credits were awesome. The use of freecam was excellent. The voiceovers were spot on. I can tell you are a great director. I need to see more of your films that aren't comedy. You look like you could make a kick @ss serious movie.

But then again, I did chuckle when the guy farted. Paired with everything else, That's enough to get you 5 in my book.

Good VO, and sweet sets, but I kind of lost interest.

Hmmm...Very good voiceovers, camera work was excellent, overlays were good, soundtrack nicely done. But after watching this movie, I have to ask myself...what's the point? The story is weak and uninteresting. It is a shame to see such polished technical work go into such a weak overall project.

A great concept with more than a hint of truth in it.

Very well written and produced - a good performance with well made backdrops (I like the subway one). Music fit perfectly in this film (with one exception)- I liked the jachno number at the start (that's a cross between jazz and techno).

Superb audio quality and balance - although one song sounded like short wave radio and should have been changed; it just sounded like interference on the soundtrack.

Hehe (there's another one!) - I've just realised that the crowd were shouting "lol" and "rofl" in the club, I thought they were just heckling first time around (his joke did suck lemons). His reaction to the fart was pretty much exactly my reaction too.

How's about a sequel where everyone carries around a pack of smilies to show to people instead of actually making facial expressions? :)

Entertaining film.

What a last laugh that was. Text speak will take over the world? Kill me now! I hear it already has taken effect! Film on biz and a good one this was.

The last laugh is a great laugh all-round, and a great entry to the competition! Man, so that's where Clive has been! (sitting on the couch eating potato chips =P)...

Best of luck in the comp!

Nice entry. But it was a little short (I understand if you only get a certain time limit in the competition). Nice idea, nice overlays, VO's and Music.

Lol... I mean, rofl... umm....

You're so right! Loved your narration, the sound quality is excellent, and the backdrops as always fantastic, and the music fitted superbly. Good luck for the comp! Another one downloaded for keeping! :)

Nice little flick Biz. I love the way you create sets and scenes using backdops - very effective. This short was part comedy, part satirical sociological reflection (if there is such a thing). Entertaining and thought provoking and a great interpritation of the title.

Best of luck in the contest

cheers

Some nice ideas here and it's a pitty my computer couldn't play the video that well. The fart on the train was funny. I would have liked it to go on for longer and it to have had a storyline.

Talking directly out of my soul! I hate those kids only saying lol and rofl instead of some good healthy laughing and I nearly spied all my beer over my desktop at the fart scene. =) Very well done

dark comedy about the lack of quality comedy?

to the 2 dill holes who reviewed right before me
who in this day and age is still offended or shocked by and f-bomb?

but you did drop an LOL bomb?

[play nice now!] this is a [censored!]ty review

Why the... F-Bomb? Oh come on. There's kids browsing this site, they don't need to hear such language from such a top rated movie. Of course they'll come flocking to see this movie!

You will traumatize kids around the world. I hope you're proud of that. Good (bad) day!

You just dropped the f-bomb in voiceover! Was that really nessesary? Nope, not one bit. 3/5

A very thought out comedy movie. the story you have set is a unique one and I like the dialogue used. The music sets the tone for a non -laugh world. Great use of sets aswell. Really worthy of 5 stars. You must of put alot of thought into this to make it a winner which it will be! Good work :) Could you rate my teaser trailer for my upcoming movie Chicken 3 please. Thanks.

Biz! I didn't want it to end! Why did it have to be so short? I'm serious... if I wasn't so pleased with it, I woulda knocked off a star, I was just getting into it deep when it ended... with my fav StokeBob tune too.
Seriously classy movie in a way that's hard to explain... most of your flicks have a certain classiness about them, a smoothness in visual & aural delivery I guess. This one was really easy to watch. Great little (too short) flick, with some choice mods & overlays.

Not bad at all! Very well done there biz! The guy had a jaw like Jay Lenno has a chin!LOL

Wry, dry satirical comment, lazy, laid back pace and an excellently-delivered narrative - I liked it very much, nice job biz.

- Norriefpb

First off, great narration. Like Goof, I thought it sounded brilliant. Great tone to it as well, world weary and cynical: very reminiscent! The LOL at the fart gag made me laugh a lot; so perfectly delivered. And I loved the way you just threw in the chip line at the end.
Another cracking short from thebiz, love your work.

What a great concept, idiot slang purveying it's way to it's final, sad
form... lol!

Loved the shot on the subway platform at 2:51, looked so convincing.

Terrific voice on this Biz, you must have a new mic or something because it sounded great!
Good luck in the comp.

ROFL! LOL! LMAO! :)

A nice, funny little satire on the rather annoying use of text laughter. The dialog is top-notch and humorous. Music is very effective and is used well. I love the overlays as well.

So, overall, this is a delightful little satire that really represents its title, "The Last Laugh," in a smooth, humorous, and somewhat chillingly ominous way. Three thumbs up!

Very clever!
I loved how you've played with the meaning of the title you chose, it made the film very original. Some great writing in there - simple and observed. I laughed at some of the performances and that bit at the end there.
I found it a little slow, though this was obviously the intension - for the sarcastic humour - so that wasn't too much of a problem. It was a little short aswell, I started to expect more from the story you were building up there.
Technically it's very good! Nice cam and mod use!
Well done and good luck in the comp!

Howie.
