Film Description
Nahton Studios presents a music video of a comedic song by Jonathan Coulton

If you are normally turned off by music videos allow me to note 2 things:
1 - There is narrative to the video and it is not a stock "music video"
2 - The reviewers thus far seem to think it is funny (which is a good thing as that was my intent and it hopefully means I did the song justice because it is truly a great song)

Jonathan Coulton is a music artist (out of NYC ) without a contract that makes a living out of publishing his songs on the web and live performances. He is a big Creative Commons proponent and encourages people to make video's of his songs posts them on his website. He just made more news recently because Valve commissioned him to write a song that was used in the Portal game that is part of the Half Life 2 Orange Box. His website is here: http://www.jonathancoulton.com/

Breaking news: This video has been accepted to be featured on Jonathan's website:

Mod Credits (Full mod credits are in spoiler section and on movie end credits)

***SPOILER SECTION *** (Don't read until after viewing)

As it reads on Jonathan Coulton's website:

If Hollywood has taught us anything, it???s that being trapped in a mall surrounded by a million zombies would be really

troublesome. But how much more annoying would it be if the head zombie used to be your co-worker, and he was kind of a prick

even before he got infected? And now he???s right outside and he just keeps talking and talking - still the same jackass, only

now he wants to eat your brains?

I usually HATE TMO music videos, but goddayum - how can you not fall in love with this?

This was just freaking brilliant in thought, word, deed, and execution - technical issues never even crossed my mind (not an easy thing to make me forget), and with such clever visuals to match the lyrics, I laughed out loud a half dozen times.

Absolutely OUTSTANDING, just-plain-good fun.

Film the hell on, Nahton!

??Your Brains by Jonathan Coultan?? ?? by Nahton. Official ATP Productions review by Sparky1512 and Trewill7.

CONCEPT

Your Brains is a song written and performed by Jonathan Coultan ?? interpreted visually by Nahton. The song is comical in nature, the main theme (as if the title wasn??t obvious) being the acquisition of human brains by a horde of zombies. As a movie concept this would have been awful, but as a song / music video it was great.
We very much liked the set up of the main character singing and the story that unfolds surrounding the afore mention acquisition of grey matter.

INTERPRETATION

Was excellent. With a song of this nature and topic, the main theme / content was always going to be zombies and human brains. But the way Nahton skilfully takes particular words, lines and lyrics and transposes them into a visual representation of the message is very clever.

It was clearly a good move by Nahton in the first place, to select this particular song as it lends itself so beautifully to being turned into a music video.

VISUALS

Overall, the video aspect was good ?? particularly freecam work and choices of static shots. Great use of the zombie makeup and zombie props and good scene selection. We thought that there could have been a little more set dressing to emphasis certain elements though.

Editing was tight and served its purpose well. Scenes that involved multiple zombie characters were well crafted and well cut to give the desired effect.

MUSIC

Although this was strictly speaking nothing to do with Nahton (in that he did not write or perform it) he did select it, and what a great choice of song it is. The piece itself is very well written and performed, has a catchy upbeat tune and hilarious lyrics that had us in stitches whilst watching/listening (again this humour was emphasised by the visual video elements.

OVERALL

A catchy, funny, well-written song complimented and enhanced by a well-directed, well thought out and well executed video. We at ATP thought this was great.

Oh no! Not another downloadable movie from Nahton! You're eating up my hard drive (and brain). This was sheer brilliance! I love how you hid the surprise at the start. The images worked with the lyrics PERFECTLY! No wonder this was featured at Coulton's website; I can't think of a better music vid even if using live (or unlive) actors. Let me wrap this review up 'cause I can't wait to watch this again!

Fantastic! Flawless! Loved every minute. The flesh eating zombies are bad, but when it's the ones that are after your brain you're in trouble.

An astonishing, hilarious, and satirical take on zombies, musical style. I really love the way you made that guy dance while talking on the phone. And the billboard! (he he!) :D Great, silly fun, with wonderful music, singing, and make-up!

A fun little music video that's well edited to match the lyrics. It kept a smile on my face throughout. The mix of set dressing, costumes, backdrops, and overlays kept it entertaining. Sound quality of the music was just fine.

The opening had me worried, with the couple of shots that had a blue floor. And I felt a few places had some awkward cuts. This was cruising along at a "mid-to-high 4 stars" until the rather innovative bit with the zombie and the guitar -- probably one of the best uses of the "gun crazy" scene (or whatever that scene is called in-game) I've seen!

So with that, the decent set dressing, and overall fun nature of this video, this reaches a border-line 5 stars for me.

Funny and very well scripted music video. Poe's makeup looks very good. This combined with "Punk" classifies you as the true king of the amusing zombie flicks. Good work.
