You have a one of the shiniest voices I??ve recently heard for the first time. Nice song, some solid arranging and a stunning vocal performance made this. Flawless? No. The dancing bit was out of tempo.

What is the true definition of an Excellent Collaboraton ?

This is without a doubt one, with the reason coming from fusing together the talents of a great lyric and melodic composer to a natural and exceptional directer, producer and singer. Your individual talents were showcased for all to see but what made this music video truly fascinating was the way your individuality bounced off each other. That's the kind of stuff you only see in special movies.

The music composition was the most original and authentic style that I have heard in a very long time, Norrie has such wonderful talent and ability and his lyrics not only went hand in hand with this, but your peformance is what wrapped, sealed and delivered the whole thing.Attention to detail was a fine charasteristic of this piece with you displaying such accuracy nailing the lip-synch to go hand in hand with your terrific singing!!

Last but certainly not least the direction and cutting of this music video was absolutely fantastic. You provided such refreshing angles within the club and more importantly you used very appropriate scenes which blended into the music score.

There was some excellent use of the black & white Augie which instantaneously transports you to an earlier era where Jazz music was appreciated for its purity. With each passing second I felt myself drawn into it's world because of its authenticity and originality!

Groovy Night is a solid and polished represtation of just what an exceptional collaboration can make. You and Norrie are the Singer/Song-Writer sensation on TMO and you both deserve such praise for an excellent job on creating a wonderful performance that just made me sit back and smile and be sucked into the beat, melody, ambience, mood and world!

I look forward to seeing more collaborations with you and norrie as well as collaborating with you on my future project but until then...

Nuke Well in the Groovy Night!!!!!!

Impressive! Very impressive.

I must echo Ken's comment here, this is definitely the best music video I've seen on TMO. The black and white works incredibly well and everything just seems to fit together so snug and nicely.
I love the song (even stuck it on my mp3 player) but the marvelous vocals and inspiring movie to go with it make it so much better.

I'm impressed and inspired. I always thought a convincingly classy music video using this software would be near impossible, but you've proved it can be done and with such style too!

Love it. And I love you and Norrie. This has got to be your best collaborative effort so far and will be difficult to top, although no doubt you will.

Thanks for the music!

Wow! This has to be the best music video I've seen here...

I'm a sucker for good jazz, and Norrie has really outdone himself with this tune - then you add Sisch's playful, boppin' vocals, and you've got a hell of a song.

But there's a whole lot more to this - it's perfectly filmed and edited, visually capturing the feel of the swinging sounds and upbeat vocals.

This duo showed their chops with Old Folk Funk, and have really ratcheted it up a couple of notches with Groovy Night. I can hardly wait to see what they come up with next.

the song was somewhat repetitive. but the production was 10 star. i felt like i was transported to the 40's to a real night club and was watching a real show. nice work on that part.
sisch, you have a beautiful voice, but as jazzx says, you didn't do much in the way of improvisational jazz, which is what it's all about.
5 stars, anyway, because of the gestalt of it all.

Oh this is so good! I know it's pretty hard to film a music video with The Movies, but you pulled it off well. This is the first music video for the Movies I've watched. Kudos! The scenes flowed together so well with the music. it is smooth and sophisticated. Great work!

My dad says that singers are killing music.
In this case, I have to agree!

Many a great jazz song has been murdered by bad lyrics and singing.

The song on display here was pretty good. A very good backing track and evocative visuals - but the performance by the singer was anti-jazz! It was extremely wooden and had no swing to it (apart from the "chick-chick-aah" bit, I liked that). In jazz, a singer should deviate from the main melody and improvise - that's what makes it jazzy. There was none of that here, just the same old melodic theme recycled several times and done in the same way by the singer.

But, nevertheless - so far, this must be the best jazz music video on TMO (this is the part you quote Mr director!)

Cool! Saubere Arbeit!

You two are a great team.I was totally astonished. you have sush a lovely voice, and the music was awsome.I wonder how did you do all those movements of the singer? This movie brought me back to that era.I forgot where I was. I loved it and I'll look for more of your movies. I wish I had your kind of talents, and wish great luck to you!!!

WOW. That was a great song, music, words, sining. Fit perfectly for the time period. The visuals were very nicely done, except for the dancing feet, just didn't quite work for how long it was on screen. Otherwise, WOW!

Holy cow. This is indeed one of those rare TMO musicals that do not come very often around.

Consensus:
A dazzling, extremely catchy musical that propels you back into the forties with amazing singing and breezy jazz writing.
(96%)

Quite a collaboration, Sisch and norrie. This musical is simply... perfect. Featuring quite the catchiest song too. Made me dance around the room. (great jazz writing, norrie) :) I have to say, filming this in black and white was the perfect choice. Sisch, you're an amazing singer. Nothing much left to say.

Standing ovation, everyone!!!

Excellent video. The black and white is perfect for this jazz gem. Well mastered use of the dancing clips and bar scenes to create this lounge singing gem. Norrie's jazz music was done well and excellent singing by Sisch.

This is truly a music video for everyone's TMO collection.

A music video which is of a very high standard! An Excellent collaboration Sisch and Norrie! Well done both of you! This is by far one of the best music videos i've seen on TMO, probably the best! I really enjoyed this!
The music went beautifully with the lyrics and it certainly had me dancing!
I loved the way you used new scenes, like when people were dancing in the bar.
I found that very imaginative and something fresh, new as it hasn't been seen before on TMO and it was all done so well!!! This will go down as one of the most remembered/flawless music videos on the site!!!!
Hot damn, Sisch is a sexy diva in this i must say!
This was very groovy indeed, a very creative title!
Great work sisch! Your voice is very nice! You were out-standing!
Everything in this music video is amazing, really well professionally done and not one single flaw/fault in it at all!!!! The overlays were very creative!
The black and white style really added to the music video, great idea!
I found the camera work to be really well done! I loved the costumes!
Great work! It was timed all so well and i can't believe what i have seen!
I can tell this music video has been very well thought out with a lot of time and effort dedicated into this project and it has paid off which i am glad to say!!!!
To sort of sum up it all up, that was Fantastic, out-standing, incredible, amazing, breath-taking and so much more.
Infact, i was kinda speechless when i finished this music video, i knew it would be really good from the reviews and what i have heard and I was not let down, which is great! So, by saying that this is definetly the music video on TMO you have to check out if you haven't done already!!!!
The length was great, it all flowed together so well, the song, the lyrics, editing, camera-work, overlays, etc, everything was so well put together and this music video definelty deserves all the credit and acclaim it gets which i know it will get, which is what it sure does deserve!
Overall: 6 stars [if i could, a solid five* on TMO though]
There was so much to love about this music video!
A completly flawless music video, very professional!
I highly recommend this and give it two thumbs up! I gave this music video my new award, "DR's Pure Excellence Award". Well done! That was incredible. Deserves a hot-pick and much, much more! Can't wait to see more collaborations that you Sisch and Norrie do!!!! I think my jaw has dropped now after seeing this! Fabbo guys! Out-standing job overall.

This is a lovely piece of clip making.

Wonderfully atmospheric and a nostalgic slingshot into a time long gone, derived from this notoriously uncooperative slate of a game. Everyone involved in this work is to be congratulated.

The musical sensation presented here is a world class effort and alone deserves 6 stars.

So why only four? Granted that within the time frame allowed by the length of the piece, exposition, set up, conflict and resolution have one of two choices: Either be severely truncated or sling-shotted out the window, allowing for a "happening" to occur. In this case it's the later. In essence this is a showcase piece rather than a movie. But besides as a showcase to the marvellous musical talents of the film makers involved, it highlights nothing of their story-telling abilities. Within the unspooling of this film we see a series of vignettes that hint at a broader story, but they are un-connected and fragmented. The central artiste performs, cops block a street, a woman prepares for her date, the night is danced away, a bartender exhibits his prowess... I rewound and watched it again, and felt that this should have been a set piece for a magnificent film noir that has yet to be produced. Perhaps this is a trailer? I hope so.

Marvellous use of mods and exciting attention to period detail. What prevents the last star for me is the minimal drive for a dramatic coherence within the journey of this clip. Behind every happening a story lurks, and I wanted to see this one badly.

You are to be congratulated on a wonderful piece of work!

It is nice once in a while to break away from colour, There's something I find quite refreshing about Black and White on TMO. The choice Black and white and vehicle choices really helps capture the period. The lyrics were excellent and sung superbly by Sisch.

Nice use of mods and excellent implementation of Dr house's unlocked scenes with some great camera angles. Gives the impression that The Blue Note is one swinging joint.

"It don't mean a thing if it aint got that swing" and this is a really swinging treat. Sisch's voice is as smooth as butter on a hot linoleum floor during a New Orleans Summer. Sultry and made of one part Marlena Dietrich one part Nina Simone, she really brings a seductive set of pipes to TMO. Swinging music by Norrie and when ya put the two together you get this-a real throwback to a time when...

This was a real Barn Burner and the both of you are a swinging 18 Karat combo. This vid was definitly in the pocket. Nice work. Now if i can only get Sisch to Sing "Falling in love again"....

Very nice indeed -- I'm rather at a la=oss for words since I am anxious to watch it again. The camerawork was particularly effective in this one, making what is essentially the same scenes shown over and over again look different throughout. And that song! Give me a samll jazz combo any day of the week, to me it is the very synthesis of music. And the fact you did it with Garageband is impressive indeed -- I didn't realize it had that much dexterity built into it. (But then, I am not musically inclined -- just hunt and peck on a keyboard.) Overall, a brilliant collaboration that is sure to hit the top of both the TMO and the music charts! Keep up the great work!

Well Norrie that was an incredible collaboration of 2 very talented people somehow fusing their collective artistry into a cool little movie to treasure.

Sisch, some of those lines are not at all easy to sing and you did a swingin' great job.
Norrie, I've never used Garageband to record my stuff (I use digital Performer) but I have got to ask you about that ap when I get the chance. The guitar, sax and trumpet solos are very, very realistic! A very well made song.

I might have missed the premiere, but I'm wearing my Zoot suit as we speak and headin' out to the dance floor right now(drink in hand of course)

It's true, at the blue note all the tunes are really snappy!

I loved this production, thoroughly enjoyed it the entire way through.
My goodness, Sisch has an incredibly smooth singing voice- You should sing in real jazz clubs!
Norrie, I have to say that music was perfect down to the last (blue ;) ) note. Very well written lyrics kept it light hearted and swinging the whole time!
Sisch's direction was superb. It really captured the mood of the music and set the scene of the Blue Note Jazz bar so well that I wish I could go visit!

A flawless production and I'm sure to be one of my, and TMO's, all time favourites! "doo-bi-doo-cha-cha!"

A nice light hearted musical piece with an excellently crafted video to accompany it. I'm feeling harsher than usual in that Count Basie and Ella Fitzgerald were mentioned in some of the marketng spiel, and although this is good the initial thoughts were more a hollywood slightly watered down jazz variation. Thats being harsh, and I never was even Ella Fitzgeralds biggest fan as my favourites were more the Sarah Vaughan's and Nina Simone's (who to this day is one of the few vocalists/pianists that can make me feel the power of music, especially songs like 'Strange Fruit').
Still I was really impressed visually with this video, and you've managed to work wonders catching the mood and the scenes and editing fitted like a glove.

Very nicely put together music video:-D
You almost make me nostalgic for a time when I wasn't yet alive haha;-)
I enjoyed the look of the movie. The freecam use was fantastic with the way you focused-in on specific portions of scenes not directly related to the situations you used them in.For example, focusing on her feet as she quick-stepped while singing to the beat on stage, which is actually the gunfire dance...I love creative stuff like that.I would mention more examples, but I don't think I need to tell you which and where,I just thought I'd mention how much I enjoy that:-)
Great musical composition by Norrie, and your singing fit like a glove:-D

Everything just fitted so perfect the older look with the jazz the singer with Sischs voice and well the directing was so perfect in every way! The cam use the scene use the little story told... everything just wonderfully arranged!
But the star deffinatly was the music! Wonderfull swing jazz music( very well done norrie! =) ) and a beautifully singing Sisch( very very well done ;) )makes that propably the best self produced song I´ve ever heared!
Normally I´m not so ... well excited about a movie and haven´t ever said before in a review that is the best film in it´s genre (maybe I´ve said , one of the best, but never the best). That´s gonne chance now.

GROOVY NIGHT DEFFINATLY IS THE BEST MUSIC VIDEO ON TMO! A MUST SEE FOR EVERYONE!

Watching this and listening to this actually made me tap my toes. Very catchy song mixed with a great voice, truly jazzy lyrics by Norrie made this a must see music video.

Gotta love that Jazz!

What happens when you throw Sisch & Norrie in a bowl and stir'em up?

You get "Groovy Night", a triumphant piece of musical entertainment.

Norrie composed a "smooth as silk" jazzy tune and Sisch set it on fire with her sultry vocals. An Excellent Collaboration!

I wasn't around in the Age of Jazz, but if i were, i'm sure i would've been hoppin' and dancin' on the bar to jazzy tunes like this.

looking forward to more.

Outstanding both visually and aurally with more class than should be allowed (as it makes the rest of us look bad). The music grooves and the scene/animation selection and cam shots were truly inspiring. The black and white was a nice call as well. truly outstanding work.

Norrie and Sisch... let me tell you that was a fantastic piece of entertainment! Beautifully put together in all aspects, from lyrics, music, singing, and movie construction! As I watched, I wanted to approach the bar and order a drink! It was indeed a GROOVY NIGHT!... and an easy 5 Stars.

Well that was fantastic! Put many of the new scenes to great use and some fantastic singing from Sisch! Norrie did an excellent job composing the music. Best music video I've seen on TMO, and hey, maybe real life too.

Nuke Well in the Groovy Night!!!!!!

sisch, your talent astounds me. Beautiful work here! I just watched this twice (once on Norrie's Hi-Res site, and now here). And I'm going to watch it again!

Five stars doesn't do this justice... :)

Now that was a bit special wasn't it? A great piece of collaboration, you're both to be congratulated on a slick and most enjoyable film.

Wow, that was fantastic - a really slick, professional well sung, well written piece. Both Norrie and Sisch out did themselves in their respective roles in this production, a cool smooth jazz tune with great vocals - Sisch really sounded like she enjoyed singing it!
Aside from the great music, the accompanying video was also very well done. Great attention to detail and most importantly, it felt like it had been made scene by scene to fit the song (i know it had but you know). Some music videos just don't really tie together visually with what you hear - but this one did so beautifully. Very well done to you both

cheers

I loved that. Sisch You have a great voice. I loved the music it had me bobbin my head to the beat. Great work here.
There was one scary part though that part in the song that went "chic chic ah chic chic ah" made me think jason vorhies was behind me ready to hack away, but that's just the way my psychotic mind associates things.
Awesome job here Sisch. I really loved it

An exhausting clip. Why? Because it grooves and people hardly can keep there feet on the ground. Very well directed with a lot of style and a catchy song with original ideas and a great lyric, sung by a wonderful sisch (aber das du singen kannst, wei? ich schon seit It's you ;O ).
I loved btw the scene at 1:50...I didn't understand what excatly you were singing, but the scene just made it for me.
