No real need to re-iterate what I said on the Aussie Show for the 1st of September (just noted for future reference if you want to listen again). Fantastic work all round, my hats off to the performances by each and every cast member.
Some free-cam shots captured the action and established the scenes well, others felt misplaced, and once or twice the characters clipped into the camera. The editing was great all round with some well selected shots, but just watch out for that "jumpy-ness"; my advice is to use jump shots to get rid of those continuity errors. The blood splattering the camera screen was a good effect, but again, not entirely necessary and makes your film look more like a hack and chop blood-bath rather than what it was trying to achieve.

The line I found the funniest was when Charlie said that Boz (I think) smoked the coke himself and replaced it with Green Tea; classic line of TMO that was! (And it wasn't the only one).
I also found Charlie wielding a chainsaw hilarious too; I don't know why, but it just was.

Everything else was absolutely fantastic, especially the story, and to grab and never let go for 27 minutes is an achievement in itself, so congratulations on winning my coveted 6th Star Award!
Recommended to everyone who's up for a bloody good gangster watch!

How Puffy Was It? A cocaine movie about how the drug life goes down, with amazing action sequences, awesome scenes, and an overall astounding movie...all wiht British accents!?!?!? I LOVE IT!

Plot: 10/10 - DUH! Do you really think a half hour long movie would have a crappy plot? I dont even need to answer that. But what I DO need to answer is how you managed to make the half hour fly by. How did it happen? Maybe the sweet plot about cocaine delain' and the often mad crazy blood-soaked shoot-outs helped. Maybe....maybe...
The narritive style really helped the plot I thought. I loved how he just rolls through his life and covers all the important stuff...and some important stuff about his dad too. Poor dude. I was kindof sad at the end though. *SPOILER* He was such a cool dude. Why did he kill himself?? WHY!?!? *END OF SPOILER* But besides that fact the plot was mutha' fudgin' sweetness...
Awesome script writing GreenGlades/butchered

Dialogue: 10/10- Sparky has to be one of the best VOers I've ever heard in my life. He was very good, and made the character very kewl. Like i already stated: I dug the narrative dialogue combined wiht conversations. It made the movie that much more cool. Everyone else was awesome with their VO's too. Maybe some of sounded a tad louder than the other...but I'm just being a dumass picky weiner-head right now. Sorry. Anyways, the dialogue was actually...one of the the rare TMO films that sounds REALISTIC. Yes. It sounds like all this crazy stuffs is actually goin' down. Yes. You get a 10/10 on dialogue...

Music: 10/10- From techno to metal to pop beats, you got it all. And its all custom made! Nice! Music set the aciton-y mood for the insane scenes. And when there was a short break in the gunfire, you could hear some cool riffs boomin'. You had good backgorund music where it was needed. And really...theres not a whole lot to write about with music. So I'll wrap it up by saying, "Good job!"

Originality: 10/10- Reminds me of all the films I wanna have sex with. But for TMO, this is a VERY rare kindof movie. Not a whole lot of cocaine selling movies around here. Or atleast their not as cool as this. I'll say the plot did have a bunch of unique elements that I've never seen before. And some I have. But if the whole thing was compleltly original, it would just turn out wierd. Good job Greenglades for making a unique, cool script, and butchered for making it with a cool style. OH YAH! And the insane blood effects? THOSE were a first on TMO...

Editing: 10/10- What can I say besides, "Holy sh!t!" The cuts were smooth. No scene ran on too long. The dialogue fit perfectly with the acitons. And everything just seem to work together throughout an entire half hour. Now, time to talk about death. The gunfights? Sweet. The sounds effects were original and made the movie much better, than the ingame sounds. The bullets boucing around the rooms were cool too. And whenever someone got reletivly shot with a bullet: blood spews out like a fountain! I love it! The blood was unseen man. And then the smooth gore flowing from the body gave this movie the last edge in awesomeness. All around, amazing editting.

PufFactor: 50/50 - ...
...
...
...
Yah, thats right, your movies mutha' fu**n perfect. Definalty bookmarked it with my other top favorite TMO movies. Awesome job on everything. You deserve to win an Oscar.

What can I say, you have once again concocted a wonderful movie! The script was very well done, dialog felt very realistic and flowed well, as the use of profanity was properly used and seemed realistic. The story was very cool, especially since it is a true story, which really turned me on to the story. As you know i do not agree with the music choice and know we went through this but since you had no other choice but to keep it I will withdraw my opinion on that. As for the music itself, I have never been a real fan of techno type songs but they seemed to work well in here.

The special effects, of lord, were they good!!! I must first say, AMAZING end credits, simply amazing, worthy of being in a real live action film. Ovelrays were brilliant, gun fights, explosion, smoke, bullets, all so perfectly done. Its not just how good the effects are, but your attention to detail, making sure each scene has been filmed right and properly assisted by effects.

The VO's were great, a shining all-British cast! Everyone did quite well with their VO's, a few volume issues between some VO's, but I must coomerate Ranger for his Jamacan accent, haha, very good!

Overall I feel you did a smashing job! Great cast, great effects, and a superb director!

This is the 'Snatch' / 'Lock Stock' of TMO without a doubt. You assembled an excellent all british cast and the lead performance was outstanding! you had some good support roles too.

What I enjoyed the most about this story believe it or not wasn't the action sequences which were quite impressive in their own right. No, it is the story that you conjured up with which keeps me watching for the entire 27 minutes. Each character is distinctive and is a key figure in this unravelling story that starts off with an almost predictable end yet your brilliant story telling fill in all the gaps and make sense as you watch through. It's ending was unexpected despite all this and I felt it was a nice added touch.

This movie isnt without its flaws as I noticed a few volume issues with some voice overs and generally the consistent high music volume seemed to drown some of the vocals at occasional times.Despite this I still managed to get into the story and enjoy. The free cam was used well at parts with some great pans and close ups, but at times they suffered from the occasional clipping.

Now I move onto the SFX... this movie was ambitious in the special effects deparment and I must say you did a darn good job with this. Not only did you incorporate some original set pieces through overlay animations but you also managed to set the scenes for these showdowns well. An example of this is the warehouse shoot out which is perhaps my favourite action sequence. Reminiscant of Team Soho's 'The Getaway'. The atmospheric showdown was executed well using an appropriate mod to recreate a warehouse. Coupled with your free-cam techniques, you managed to provide some great shots which really stook out for me.

So there we have it, TMO's answer to 'Snatch' and 'Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels' is finally here and it certainly packs a punch.

The best way to sum up Charlie is that it looks rough around the edges, but boy there is a story deep within. Congratulations on a fine film butch.. and last but not least...

Nuke Well for Charlie!!!!!

Great Film

The good

Lots of action. Great cam. Great VOs. Great Editing. Great Music. Good story.

The bad

While the music was great I thought it was a little too loud in comparrison to the Voices. not THAT big of deal.

That was a very nice flick. The story was good and the characters interesting. Most of the voice work was really great thoug one voice kept sounding strange. Bad recording I guess but hey what can you do? The movie used a lot of effects from outside the game and even though Im not a fan of using that sort of thing myself I think they worked great. All in all a brilliant flick though you might wanna considder making it shorter next time or split it in two.

One word - Amazing. This is without out a doubt the the best film i've ever seen on the movies. The best voice acting, excellent story and the blood soaked shoot outs were just perfect. A perfect mix between fighting and talking, with a few comedy lines thrown in for good measure. 5/5.

A FREDTHEDUCK REVIEW

Plot: 18/20 - That ending was legendary. It was so sudden, and yet so brilliant. I don't think that that could have ended any better than it did. There were some parts of that movie that I wasn't so pleased with, but the ending makes up for that brilliantly.

Originality: 4/5 - I don't think I've ever seen a movie even vaguely similar to this on TMO, but this is vaguelt reminiscent of a real movie I saw. Sadly, I forget what that was called, so. . .yeah.

Predictability: 14/15 - LOVED that ending, it was such a twist.

VOs: 12/15 - Although Sparky and Roger both gave tremendous performances, as you would expect, not all of the VOs were as great. One of the guys near the startw as very hard to understand, and the jamaican guy sounded slightly like Snoopy. All in all though, a pretty good cast who gave what was mostly an equally good performance

Custom content: 10/10 - Butch = overlays God. Also, some of those overlays were used so well that you couldn't even tell they were overlays, such as the car reversing (I worked it out because I was sure that I had never seen better freecam, so. . .yeah.) I also love that you made all your own mods for this, they were incredible.

Editing: 14/15 - Bloody brilliantly edited.

Music/sfx: 8/10 - I liked the music you used, but after a while it felt slightly repetetive.

The wow factor: 9/10 - *jaw drops off*

TOTAL: 89% - 5 stars

Dramatic and powerful, one of the best films ever graced upon TMO. The gunfights were thrilling and horrific, mods were top notch and VO's a two thumbs up.

Truly the greatest film I have ever seen!

I loved the feel for this movie-like the British version of chopper and felt like the British game The Getaway, even though this aint my type of film. Voice overs were great, a superb cast. Ranger21 as a Jamaican, truly well done. Sparky, played Charlie I think well, reminded me of chopper and any type of big boss drug dealer movie. the story is superb, I mean this kept me hooked every minute-the last 12mins are the best. The titles were brilliant and your overlays Butch are top of the art.

Another great thing about this movie butch is the sets and the set dressing. You made the blue screen/blue 6'er as a warehouse from what i could tell, very nicely done-even the driving scenes with some flora, superb!. The editing was brilliant, the fight scenes were great and was just a nicely put drug type of movie, well you know the genre folks!

Overall, a great film, well worth 27mins and your best film yet! Good Work Butch!

[the following review contains spoilers]
Ok Butch, i've come to know that you're a Quentin Tarantino fan by the way that all of your movies have loads of blood in them.
Now, look... I have nothing wrong with loads of blood in a film if the film is very good and the blood is used for a reason. In Charlie, it really did become way too much with the violence.
The violence was way over the top and i don't see why it had to be. Sure, you could of had one really violent bit, but there was too much blood in this film considering that it had a stale plot.
Basically, it was about a bunch of rival gangs killing each-other back and fourth and by the end you find out that Panda [played by Ranger21] set up Charlie up with Mixmasterfestus's character, not much of a great story.
I could see you worked really hard on the script and that you were trying to put across a very involved plot, but for me i didn't see that much of a great plot at all. Just my honest opinion.
I wish i could of loved this movie, that's what I was saying to myself when i was starting the film, but i'm sorry, that wasn't the case at all.
I have nothing against British crime films as i know this film is one.
It doesn't live up to anything like "Snatch" or "Lock-stock", which are really good real-life British crime films as they had a very good plot, violence with a reason to it and they were also funny. I knew you weren't trying to make the audience laugh in this movie, but it would of been nice to see you doing so as the movie was a complete mess for me and did nothing.
Obviously, not doing too much of it of course, but just having a bit here and there of comedy to spice it up a little like other British crime real-life films had like the 2 ones i mentioned.
I do know that you put a lot of work into this film and it was very well put together, but i just didn't like it at all.
I loved the cast, very good cast indeed, top notch direction, but it wasn't that much of a great movie for me.
The overlays were just as good as the very complicated ones you seen in MMF's movies. Very impressive stuff. The music was a nice touch and worked very well. I also liked the camera-work, but some shots were bad i have to admit.
There was a bad shot I remember with Alex2112's character talking to Charlie, the boob-shot i refer to the shot was near her boobs and at a bad angle too, i don't see why you had to do that shot, you could of had a better shot, with the camera actually looking straight at her, not looking at her at a dodgy angle as you did!!!!!
The editing was pretty good. The opening/ending credits were very good and i liked the introduction to the film with Sparky narrating. That was an excellent idea. I was thinking from the first few minutes in that this would be really good, but as quite a few average or below average revenge films go with killing everyone and then someone be-traying some-one, ones with hardly any plot, i felt that this film was very poor overall. There wasn't much of a plot. There were more people getting shot in this movie than a well plot being told. It was what i hoped it wouldn't be, which was an utter mess.
I'm not trying to personally attack the cast or the director, they were top-notch, but the content wasn't that good at all. Also, about the director I admire that you are paying tribue/homage to Tarantino. I respect that, but you don't do it very well. All your previous 3 films have been below average for me.
As I said earlier the plot was pretty thin and was how I expected the well below average revenge flick to go after about 10 minutes into the film.
There was a lot of very impressive work in this, but i have to say it wasn't that good at all for my taste.
Now, butch, allright... you appreceite Tarantino's work as a film-maker as he uses a lot of blood in his films as i stated earlier.
There's nothing wrong with you appreceiting him, but to be trying to make films like he is doing as you are doing is just not right, especially if you can't make films of high standards like his. I think you have to take more time of your upcoming films and plan them out quite a bit more.
Tarantino can put together a very good plot and amongst loads of other things, which you cannot do in my eyes. Just my opinion.
I wouldn't mind it if you were making films that had a lot of blood in them and paying homage to Tarantino if they were actually good. Your previous 2 films on TMO have been no exception. They were very violent and not that great in my honest opinion. I didn't like Blood-shot as much as the other one.
Blood-shot like the other film was paying homage to Tarantino for his films and both of those films were below average for me. They didn't have a good story and just didn't work for me. All blood and guts with no substance, by substance i mean like story, a plot!!!!
As a film-maker Butch, i find your work very strange and hard to digest as a whole.
I mean, you put a lot of effort into your films, i especially loved the very good mods in this film. Well done Ranger, amazing jamaican accent 'mon! AYE Sweet-heart. lol, but the thing is like i was saying earlier the content is not good at all. Sure, i really liked a few things, like Ranger21's jamaican accent, the mods, the cast, your effort and amongst some other few things, but i just couldn't get into a film like this as it felt rushed and just a mess.
To me, all this film would be in a few words is "Bloody boring blood-bath".
And that is true in my opinion.
I'll admit to you that i felt cheated by this movie, after all the hype it was a real dissapointment and didn't live up to my expectations, which was that i thought it would be a really good revenge movie, but sadly, it wasn't.
I also got really put off by the growling in quite a lot of scenes. I heard that they were only using it in a few scenes, but they were in quite a lot of scenes actually and it distracted me as a viewer. So, there goes another star. You should take out the growling for your next movie and put in your own sound-effects.
It does make a world of difference, believe me. I've got used to it a lot now and it helps your movie tremendously.
Would of been 3 stars, but goes down to 2 stars for the growling and amongst other things which really took the film down for me.
Is this a British crime film? I think not, it's not even worthy of being one, a good one at least for crying out loud! I'm sorry Butch, but that was a load of nonsense. For a lot of the film loads of people get killed, i think you should of had less action and more story. That would of worked better for me, personally.
I hope you find this review useful as it is being insightful and honest.
I also hope that you do not find this review offensive as it is being honest and insightful to help you grow and improve as a film-maker in the future.
This film was a complete dissapointment and really made me think that you should stop making films like this which have no point to them and are extremely violent for no reason!
Please, please, please stop making films like this. If you are 14 years old, which i hope you aren't as if you
are you seriously need to go to re-hab or go to jail for making what you are!!!
Are you out of your mind making a film like this at the age of 14!?!?!? I hope you're not 14, otherwise your mum must think you're a right sicko!!
At the length this was, 27 and a half mins it was a complete and utter waste of my time by far!!!!
I give this movie the award: By far the most boring bloody blood-bath of a movie award!!!!!
I think you should think more when you make films like this, at least think how people will react if you make it the way you did. There was too much violence, not enough story, the story was pretty predictable after a good 10 mins in or so and i was greatly dissapointed by that. Basically, all that happenned in this film was a load of people getting killed and that's about it for me as i don't care about this movie. It did really nothing for me!
It was terrible, a load of garbage! Please make something better and something different for once!!!
That was very un-entertaining and a waste of my time for me.
I know you have the best intentions when making a film Butch, i can tell by the way you put this film together, overlays, music, vo's, etc, but it just didn't work for me.
Overall: 4/10
Another very dissapointing movie by Butchered studios. Not worth watching unless you like pointless killing without any story at all. This film reminds me of Ultraviolet quite a lot. It had no story at all, it was extremely violent
when not needed and believe me, i was just as hyper to see Ultraviolet by it's really cool trailer just as much as with Charlie. However, your films are just like UV, it was a waste of my time and it was a real dissapointment.
This movie should be banned from TMO for it's excessive and pointless gore. Really bad movie. You're lucky I ain't giving this a one star, but i'm giving it 2 stars because of your great effort, which didn't pay off for me, but i can tell you worked very hard at this regardless.
2 stars for very good effort and not very good content. Hope you make better films than this in the future Butch. Good luck for the future. I just hope you don't make more films like this in the future, unless they're actually good!
I will finish off by saying, i can see from all the reviews that people really like your film so far, so i can see they all understand your film, but i didn't understand it one bit. Everyone has their opinions and i have my own opinion of this film, complete garbage.
This film did nothing for me. Very bad film. Just the way i see it.
Below average.

Holy hell, butchered__Studios, what action this movie had.
A load of bloody.
Blood all over the screen.
Top scenes.
Top movie on TMO.
Excellent cast. Sparky's voice was the coolest.
Totally gangster rap.
Also the music... well I never thought they were cool.

This reminds me of your other movie 'Bloodshot', really really cool.

A load of violence, a load of blood, you're on top of the world right now you are.

What else can I say? All I can say is... a top movie on TMO, top of the chart, excellent work. A total of 5 stars. Enjoy.

A very well made movie indeed. There was so much I liked and appreciated. From the acting to the script to the overlays.

Apart from a couple of minor continuity errors, the movie was great.

The British flags turned into American ones. ;)

Brilliant movie, well done!

This is the kind of movie I don't usually like, but I loved this one! :)

"In this business, we don't have an office and a board, you don't get a name plate on the door..."

Ok I wrote that, but it's still one of my favorite lines heh. A great storyline weaved around the plot of drugs, betrayal, and turf. Well developed characters with a detailed background history. The opening narrative does go on a bit too long, but a necessary evil to paint the picture, set-up the background, and create the present situation. The main characters have a good richness and depth to them with realistic dialogue and situational settings.

The set design and cinematography is at the forefront of this movie experience. Great custom costumes, sets, props and great use of free-cam help drive this story forward with a distinct look and feel. Another strong point is the great voice acting cast with strong performances by the main 3 characters - Sparky1512, Ranger21, and Rjb2112.

Good job on the soundtrack which helped set the mood for this film.

Well done. It continues to have your trademark blood and gore, but these effects are maturing and are not there for shock as in the past, but more to add to the realism and style of your movies. The last two films you released are your best to date. Charlie is well deserving of a Diamond in the Rough.

Good job.

Bloody hell yes!Superbly done!
Not only full of in-your-face action, but an immersive storyline as well.
Some excellent character development, and the dialogue was exceptionally written and delivered by all involved.
'Too violent' some may say,but I beg to differ...the violence was not over-done...it only helped to amplify the gruesome reality that people face who get involved with the shady dealings of underworld 'business'.Fantastic use of mods to highlight the action sequences especially.

I commend you on keeping me entertained for the duration...all this and no commercials too haha!(you need some sponsors lol)

All-in-all this was glued-to-my-seat entertaining fun.Nicely done:-)

superb (adj)

1. admirably fine or excellent; extremely good: a superb performance.

You did not let me or anyone else down by this film, your reputation of being the "King of blood effects" changed but did not lower. I truly did not expect such excellence, I don't think I ever have sat through a 27 minute film on TMO and was actually entertained.

Yourt music was great! That beat at the begining for the history scenes was so great! You seemed to keep a steady flow of music throughout the film which ultimately led to a certain tone in every scene. Great Job there!

What I look for in great films is variation, something different, something out of the ordinary. What I mean is, you use modded sets, a lot of set dressing, and new freecam moves. I noticed you had a bunch of new sets, I have never seen them before, but yet again I haven't been around all too much lately. These sets were key in each scene's mood, for example, you used some rundown-ish sets which told me that the place is turning into garbage if it isn't garbage already, this may show that the character doesn't care about too much and is a low-life. I really liked the shootout scene in the warehouse, with those shelves, it was done to perfection, nice set dressing! I noticed some basic freecam, but occasionally there was something out of the ordinary, like when Charlie first saw his dad messing around with drugs you covered up the "set entrance" with the bedroom wall, therefore you were able to get a shot facing the "set entrance." Very cool!

Your voice actors were pretty amazing, maybe they could have been a little louder, but nontheless, they were brilliant! Overall, this is film I would recommend everyone to watch, it is definitely unlike any other film on TMO. Great Job, butch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woah. That movie was amazing. This movie was just amazing. From beginning to end, I was sitting, watching with my face to the computer screen. I was... jeez, I can't even find the right words right now. I am in awe. What really impressed me were those fantastic effects. So bloody, so gory, so shockingly incredible! You should be known as one of the greatest overlay creator on TMO. The VO's fit very well with each individual character. The use of mods was very suprising too. The set dressing was just... wow. You are the best action filmmaker I've ever seen on TMO. Keep on makin' these awesome movies! I'll be watchin' them.
P.S. When I first noticed this movie on the movie charts I just skipped it because of the thumbnail. You should've used like a bloody scene. I betcha everyone would watch it. 5 STARS!!!!!

I really did enjoy this film and it's good to see an all British cast for once. Good story and special effects during the fight scenes. One thing I thought would improve the rating for me is to take off the mumbling and other sounds made by the characters other than the voice overs.
Well done, keep up the good work.

Good, dialog was ok. A bit out of sync but not too bad. Over the top gore too much for this type of genre. I felt it wen't on a bit, about as good as Scratch, not quit snatch but was getting ther. Wonderfull animated overlays all the way through.

All in all, great effects and animations but i just felt it lacked a little in dialog but it was good.

A great storyline and wow me voiceactors (especially Sparky!) kept me highly entertained for half an hour! Not to mention the special effects, the shoot-out scenes were spectacular, you chose sets that really set the atmosphere of the story, and overlay and most of the cam work was great too (I spotted some minor clippings).
The music was great and fitted the movie, though in some places a bit loud so it overpowered some of the dialogue, and the "angry sounds" when Charlie talks to his mum distracted me a tiny little bit, but these are only minor nit pickings..
Great work!

I really liked this. The violence, blood, etc. were all warned about; but, nothing I couldn't handle compared to today's movies like any Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwartzeneggar or Sylvester Stallone, so I wasn't phased. It was well done though; much better than anything I've seen done on TMO to date, regarding violence level special FX. The story was indeed believable and incredible. The voice-overs were perfect (except for a tiny bit of level issues and the mentioned syncing issues, all of which I didn't care about). I really enjoyed the camera-work. It made many of the scenes stand-out well. The beginning and ending tied together very nicely too, in terms of story. The music matched the scenes perfectly, setting the moods very nicely. The extra audio-visual components to the movie augmented this film nicely. Overall, this film is well-deserving of being a winning movie and stored permanently on your studio lot.

Well the half an hour just flew by. Plenty of blood and violence, but held together by a good story, and a riveting performance by Sparky. As good a performance as I think I've witnessed around here.
An all British film that delivers what it promises, and more.

Probably one of the best movies I have seen of yours. Blood was overdone as always, but the cast and modding kept me entertained. Felt a bit like snatch and half a dozen other back alley british movies all rolled into one with the crap taken out. the special effect were good, but nothing to ooh or ahh about. Some really sweet camera shots as well.

I´m impressed by the work you must have put into this movie!
And except the overuse of blood I have nothing to criticis! Very well done! =)

Woah. Very nice... well everything. The quality of the entire movie was just fabulous. You're ability to seemlessly blend effects with in game material was brilliant. I have to say that I did think your previous film was better, but judging them individually, tis one was fabulous. A true overlay wizard!

Drugs, gangs, violence - we've seen it all before.........but not quite like this.

With 'Charlie' Butchered_Studios has created a movie masterpiece. There are mods, effects, retextures and overlays that will litterly blow your mind. But a movie can not survive on fx alone. Fortunately 'Charlie' brings with it a well crafted plot, an involving and realistic script, great vos and music that compliments the on screen action perfectly. In this ambitious project, Butchered draws the audience into the world he has created. By the end of the movie, you feel like you really know Charlie and what he's all about. There is a genuine sense of empathy for the characters rarely seen on TMO. The story moves along at a swift pace leaving no moment dull or uninteresting.

The end result of all these things is a movie that stands out from the crowd by a mile. If you haven't seen Charlie, then your life has no substance.

cheers
