Film Description
PLEASE view this film in FULL SCREEN mode (double click the movie screen after the film starts playing). There are also several dark scenes so you might wish to dim the room lights or brighten the monitor.

One year ago I released "Quietus". I then released a short prequel to the movie (in unfinished form) and released as "Quietus III". I initially planned to complete this film, but instead rewrote and expanded upon it into a brand new story. Originally I intended to use classical music for the soundtrack, but decided it would be better enhanced with a more primal and chaotic feel. I hope you enjoy what I did with it.

For some reason my thumbnail did not upload (a first for me). Also, please excuse the illegible end credits (low online res). So here are the credits and thanks to all the great VA's and modders without whom this film could not have been created.

One word, My God this film was AMAZING in every aspect of the word. Well, that was more like, 12 words, but you get my drift. Joseph, again you have cranked out a masterpiece, but what's one to expect from such a talented writer and director.

My favorite thing about this film, is the atmosphere, just the way you created the island and the eerie feel of it's wayward forest, was sheer brillance. My favortie scene, was the brief scuffle after the captain orders the villagers to be killed, that was very, very well edited. You made excellent use of those scenes and it gave them a very fresh appeal. Now, do i even have to acknowledge the special effects? I cannot even begin to understand how it is you do what you do; those effects where mind raping. That's all i can really say about them as to not spoil the movie.

No matter how eerie or comedic your film's are Joseph, you always manage in incorporate a metaphorical message within, i just hope other viewers will be able to figure it out for themselves.

Chaulk up another Masterpiece for Mr. Josephkw.

OK Joseph, you are by far one of the elite directors of TMO and such should be proud of another outstanding ??The Movies?? made piece.

Every aspect of this was perfect, from the excellently written script, though to the voice acting. Production was crafted well and the use of the resources was used brilliantly.

If I have any problem it is that I feel, like others like you. That you are a big fish in a small pond and should move away from TMO movies into full fledged animation. I can only imagine what you could do with Antics, iClone or other software of this ilk.

Again well done for a truly superb movie but I do urge you to consider moving onto bigger and better things.

All the best.

Cape.

Wow! When I read the script ( and I know I've said this before) I wondered how the hell you going to put all of this together due to it's epic script, scope and execution factor requirements. This time really for sure!!

But for you Joseph.. the imaginable can indeed become reality even given the limited scope of this software. That's the challenge you take on... and win every time.
And you do it all with panache and flair!
You got some excellent voice performances there (cough cough K, J and P) and yourvision just drives the visuals along so nicely.
Everything is so solid in Hadean, with extra care placed on the sound effects.
Really, you cross your T's and dot your I's and it's no secret that makes you a great all around filmaker. (actor too)

Once again, I'm reminded why it's fun to work with you,

You never fail to entertain me.
The story was presented with your trademark style:a great mixture of involving dialogue, creative use of scenes, and a nice sprinkling of sharp-looking special-effects.Nothing is blown out of proportion.Everything has it's place and you fit all the pieces together wonderfully with your meticulously constructed storyline.
Some good(and bad lol)characters, overshadowed by a sinister plant, which may possibly require the scientific/medical community to add new name to the list of phobias that people have...Velocireptansylvestrisaphobia sounds about right haha!
Excellent VO by all involved, and kudos to you for bringing it all together with your distinctive style.
Nicely done Joseph:-)

Loved it.

With each new movie, you excell in storytelling, visual effects, atmosphere, cinematic quality, camera work, editing and, well...you certainly know the score my friend!

This ranks up there with your finest and I can't tell you how pleased I am to have been a part of this...and without spoiling the movie too much...what a way to go!

Top notch VO performances all round and a brilliant score that further adds to the already brilliantly realised atmosphere.

Superb.

Amazing film Joseph! you have re-told this story with a great adventure in which I was fully absorbed into! You fused all aspects well together to create a gem of a movie. Fantastic Nuketastic use of Overlays,Music,Scenes and Free-Cam capture the viewers imagination. I felt as though that Island was as real as anything and those special effects were so effective given the circumstances of events. What I enjoyed most about this was your editting and use of scenes which really made things refreshings. The fight sequences were particularly refreshing and your timings and execution were impressive.

Overall yet another brilliant film that deserves all the success it will get, but for now..

Nuke Well on Hadean!

Another outstanding movie from the mind of kwong. I dont know where you come up with these ideas but they are incredible. The Mod work is second to none, and the soundtrack DEFINETLY intensifies the mood of the movie.
I look forward to each of your releases as I strive to reach your level of perfection! In other words " Great flick, cant wait to see more"

I don't know what I could say that hasn't already been said. This is a great film in every aspect.
The story had a great feel to it. It's very well thought out and written and creepy aswell.
The use of overlays, backdrops and props was perfect.
The Voice actors are to be commended for bringing each character to life. The dialogue was well written and flowed naturally.
Great job of direction and use of freem cam.
Just awesome work here. We should all aspire to be so good.

An epic movie with not only an ensemble cast but also some of TMO's finest modders on hand to create a movie with a genuine big budget feel.
The script gives all your cast chance to shine and they do so with a-plomb. The back drop and mod work take the feel of the movie way beyond the average person's expectations of the games possibilities. Time and again I was think how did you do that? The music also added an ambience which was used wisely. It added mood and tension in all the right places.

Hm, I really can't remember that you made a part III of quietus, but as it looks like this seems to be the better version and so I'm quiet a bit happy that I only know this one. Great music and good VOs care for a really nice acoustic, but the visuals are once more stunning. Alright, a bit the overlays have a little bit B-movie touch as it looks to me. That's so, because some look a bit cheap to me. But the backdrops and the camera angles work great together, so you created an amazing atmosphere for a great prequel. Worth of 5 stars, no doubt about that.

What a revamp! This is not Quietus as I know it! This is an improvement!
You never cease to amaze me Joseph, your style of directing and your execution just leaves me in awe every time. I envy you!

Enchanting, marvelous and epic! A great wonderful new edition to the "Quietus" films and definetly one of a kind. Some VO didn't seem to fit smoothly in the film but the acting was good. The script was fantastic and brilliant yet again. Great job.

Come to the island! ===K4===
Great performances. I liked Roger as the Captain, a natural for him! The effects were shocking, surprising, and well executed. I thought Dulci's performance was as stiff as a tree. Wonderful sets, fantastic story! I was appreciative of the embellishment with sound effects. I was very fortunate to have been a part of Hadean with such a fine cast as GoofParade, PMC, Bezzer, RJAnaconda, Howitzer, Roger, Dulci, and the immpecable Joseph. Commendable work by the modders as noted in Joseph's Movie description, who make our movies fresh! It is always a joy to be a part of Joseph's creative works.

My expectations are always high for a JosephKw production and I??m happy to say you managed to surpass them again with Hadean.

The dramatic introduction and superb narrative pulled me into the movie immediately.
And what a movie it was! The original and inventive story left me thoroughly entertained.

Technically superb and visually impressive, I can not find fault with Hadean, The voice actors all did a tremendous job and the use of sound helped build the perfect atmosphere for the piece.

As always the dialogue is intelligent and superbly written, Every project you work on is superb, You truly have a talent for writing, every script you put your hand to is pure gold.

Hadean is 17 mins of excellence!

Another classic JKW production. This movie is totally original, very engaging and brilliantly executed. The story ticks along at just the right pace, explains just enough but doesn't spoon feed the plot to the audience. Costumes, mods, sets, fx were all fanmtastic. How you did some of them i don't know but the end result of your efforts is a smooth, slick and seamless production. The music was always in the background, never overshadowing the action of vo's but complimenting them beautifully. Vo's were very good through out and script was well written and well concieved. Nice work my friend.

cheers

To be honest: "Hadean" doesn't really reach the strengh of a "Quietus" Saga. But that doesn't mean that Hadean is a bad movie. No. Far from it. "Quietus" is just one of my top five Series here on TMO and it is hard to beat it!
If I avoid this comparison to your masterpiece, I see a strong and entertaining Machinima. It's dark, it's creepy and it's full of typical high-quality JosephKw Special-Effect orgies. The technical side of this production was absolutely solid. The music was good. A typical JosephKw. This is the strengh and the weakness of this flick all at once.
"Hadean" knows how to entertain. It's a strong flick. But it is a way too typical for me, because I see as regards content a lot of connections to your "Quietus" opus.
Don't get me wrong. "Hadean" still sticks out of the huge amount of machinima on this site. It deserves 5 stars. It has everything a good horror/thriller needs.
With this flick, you are able to beat 97% of the remaining flicks on TMO. But you are not able to beat yourself.

Additionally I have to say that reviews for your other flicks which I shamefully haven't rated so far will follow soon. :)

OUTSTANDING!!!

Very entertaining film. From start to finish you get drawn in to this interesting story. I would have to say my fav part would be the knife fight because it takes a lot of creative editing to make that scene look fresh. The music was a good fit didn't stand out or draw attention to much. All the VOs were crisp and clear. Good work on the visuals.

WOO-HOO!

This was an awesome movie! Everything here was up to par. The special effects were simply amazing! The music created the perfect balance of horror, tension, and suspence! The backdrops and inventive use of freecam/editing really made this movie stand out to me. The VO's were superb, and the use of mods fit into this production quite nicely! So, technically speaking, this movie was flawless!

Now for the story...

Wow Joseph! What a great way to expand on the Quietus series! The story here was inventive, original, and very entertaining! A well done horror/adventure movie set in this time period is very rare on this site, and I could imagine how difficult it was to produce such an amazing feat! The use of dialect really gave this movie an authentic feel! With perfect music, top-notch VO's, and an amazing story, this movie earns a well deserved five star review from me!

Joseph, that was an excellent piece of storytelling and a great backstory to the Quietus saga. Actually, I guess it was more of a "middle" story.

The special effects were awesome, the voice actors were superb, and your imagination knows no bounds. I think you made a good call with the music. It fit perfectly. Good Luck in The Lovecraft competition!

This was a very interesting movie.
Your use of effects and mods is amazing, a true visual feast for the imagination. The VOs were very well acted on all parts, a great cast.
My favourite part of this movie, as with others of the 'Quietus' storyline, is the use of sound effects and music. The background always seems alive and when the music isn't building on tension or emotion, the sounds are of a living breathing world and in some cases a fear deep in the mind.
The camera work was very well used, especially in conjunction with your uses of scenery and props.
I felt that this one was a little too drawn out. Some of the time I felt as if I wanted something more. I guess this was the idea, to create mystery yet I felt a little frustration.
Overall this is a superb film that you should be proud of, and I am honered to have worked with you.

My dear Joseph,

again you have proofen that your filmmaker skills are reall really great. I say filmmaker, not director because the cast you mange to ensemble is always outstanding, your special effects are amazing, the music for your films fits perfect and your storys are very interesting and original.

Now to the film itself =). First I wanted to mention that PMC made an awsome performance, but so did everyone else of the cast so it wouldn´t be faire... The cam work was very good, but for you only average, the cam angels in "May Flowers" were a bit... more creative... just a feeling of mine. The music was choosen very well, but in one fight scene the music style didn´t fit for my feeling.

All in all another must see from JosephKW!

Well, normally I steer clear of historical flick of this period because of the game of game support. But this was a well crafted story with nice overlays, good VOs and for the most part, great costumes. The Captain and First officer had laughable uniforms IMHO. Nice camera work and great direction and editing. Really enjoyable all round.
