It should be worth 6 stars simply for the hommage to Power Rush (remember all of you, directors don't steal from other director, the pay hommage). Only AnotherNewDawn seems to have noticed it.

You know you??re watching an entertaining flick when minutes pass by like seconds - and this film literally flew by.

Wow! This is a highly enjoyable film with great performances from all the voice actors (especially DNR) working with a very playful script. Even though the story is typical for this genre and the ending is predictable, the true enjoyment comes from the presentation. Like a familiar peanut butter and jelly sandwich cut into heart-shaped wedges, it??s not so much what it is - but how it??s served. Here we are served with a believable night club, a truly erotic dance sequence, and music that complements every scene and mood. The camera angles and use of extreme close-ups enhance this film by keeping the viewer disoriented and disjointed until the inevitable violence begins. One Max Payne type shot was particularly satisfying ~ weeee!

A popcorn-movie that I can definitely watch again!

Oh My! That was utterly Superb!
I was transfixed all the way through.
The Story, Custom stuff, editing, splicing, effects were
2nd to none. Flawless in my eyes.
The Music was sooo cool. Perfect choices here.
Back to the editing.., that Dance Scene was hands down the sexiest
thing I've seen on TMO. Really great job on that.
Really liked the Flashing Niteclub lights in the beginning as well.
The twist ending... Excellent!
The VO's.. Top Notch! All the way..!
Every character was excellent..
I personally think this was Richies best Voice Acting to Date.
He totally pulled off the Pete Garcia character..All the little things.
A Stellar Performance by all though. The stuttering was a unique idea too.
I really Dug this Movie and about to download it for the Keeper Folder.. :)
Excellent Job Sisch!

A garrulous gangster epic with monstrously thick tension and a memorable lead character that crushes hearts and takes no prisoners. Schröder is a strange, hyperbolic mix of pulp dialogue and gruesome theatricals that works on almost every level. Sisch, who usually infuses her high octane action stories with deep emotions and intricate plotlines, foregoes the usual route in favor of out-and-out suspense and foul-mouthed poetry, marking this film as a departure from the norm (it??s also her first English language film). Nonetheless, the quality of the film rises above all expectations, as the director toys with us through her narrative strengths and meticulous details. Certainly, the concluding twist is predictable and can be seen a mile away (especially if you??re familiar with Sisch??s oeuvre), but the way the movie builds its tension through the deceptively long wait for Schröder ?? who begins to make Godot look punctual ?? only to shock us into sweet submission with a furious, hyper-kinetic bloodbath represents a masterstroke of filmic craftsmanship. The violence hits us harder than we could have ever suspected because the wait has, in many ways, disoriented us into a sense of complacency.

Performance wise, the movie is great, with Sisch and DNR as the stand-out performances. Visually, the movie mimics the gloss of the conventional action film, but uses that familiarity only to manipulate the audience??s expectations. The mise-en-scene just crackles with a vibrant energy, from the steady thump of the dance club to the sterility of the café. Sisch??s movies always move gracefully, and this movie is no exception, tugging us along with its unsettling voyage until everything abruptly ends in carnage.

In conclusion, this is a fine film that really pushes the boundaries of the action genre. Though lacking the poignancy and resonance of the Stolen Death series, the movie packs in enough mayhem and explosive hi-jinks to send us swiftly to the end of our seats.

Now, that was fun, exactly as it was intended!

I'll keep this brief, and avoid spoilers (I saw the end coming at 10:00, but that was okay - I was still interested in seeing how it played out, and I wasn't disappointed).

Super fight scene (it isn't easy making somone look like such a badass knife fighter, but you did it), very nice custom work with the "signature", wonderful tunes, camerawork, and visual pacing (reminded me a lot of our little turn together in "Power Rush"), and the writing and casting are very well done, with minor exceptions (some audio issues with sound levels, tinniness, etc.; one or two lines were a bit clunky; a couple of actors gave a couple of lackluster deliveries on certain lines). DNR and K4 are standouts, as always, and delivered gold.

And hearing you play someone "new" like this was a first for me, just a joy.

This is a bookmark, for sure.

It's sometimes difficult to write a review for a movie that you're part of. I also think everyone that knows me knows how I consider my own acting and thats one of the reasons I consider myself a director!
As for the script I did very little, so thank you for your generous credit. I do need to take the blame though for most of the profanity.
So what about the movie?
One thing people may not realise is that most movies can be told in a short period of time, this however follows the mould of the post modern gangster genre popularised by Tarantino et al. One of the key elements to these is the dialogue. The way this pulls you in can soemtimes be a story within a story. It draws us into a conversation so that we can feel part of the scene. It creates more empathy for character as they talk just like me and you. On this level the movie works really well.
Then the acting, I think all the cast did a fantastic job. I admit that as I have no confidence in my own ability I always feel the weak link in any movie in terms of this. Possibly because I felt everyone else did such a great job this is somewhat magnified. Thank you though for giving me the chance, especially as I get to be killed in a way I'd like to go.
This moves on to the soundtrack, which is fantastic. It grabs a mood and really creates that nu-wave Tarantino gangster paradise. Jimi does some fantastic stuff and he's one hell of a musician.
Which then leads to the way you put this together. I find on TMO some people are good directors, some people are good actors but seldom are people both. Here you prove you are one of the few that really understands how to put a movie together. From the camerawork to the people you collaborate in terms of mods this really hits the mark.
So when you put all this together you get one hell of a movie one that I am proud to be part of.

I was expecting a heavy old school mafia story for some reason but this was some breezy fun (albiet bloody) that passed by at a good clip. Great soundtrack. Good direction and shooting of scenes to freshen things up (noteably the dance scenes and the shootout). DNR was great as was that Schroder character. Mrs. Baxter cracked me up (it was the "I made a graph" line - the perfect mafia secretary). After watching this I started to wonder if Mrs Baxter was really the black widow's alter ego/day job. Soon you two will have to create a sell out, money grab, jump the shark Schroder Versus the Black Widow movie. I look forward to it.

Nice ending. Some good work setting up the club and the way it works too.

VO was good for the most part, but one main character had his bass turned up too much for all of his lines. This really did get on my nerves after a few minutes. A director must make sure all sound files conform to the overall volume levels and quality he/she wants for their film. I don't believe that happened for this film.

Nevertheless, there was lots of fun to be had with this film - it successfully set up an atmospheric nightclub environment within which the story was told.

Great film loads of fun.

Strangely I don't think I'd mind dying at the hands of Schroder.
I loved the direction and editing here. It was simply flawless. The music was great as was the voice acting. The cast should be commended.
The story was well written. A little predictable at times, but the energy it exuded more than made up.
Great job. I can't wait to see your next work.

20 minutes is very long (at least for me hehe) but it was it worth. I will see it again for sure. The disco scene was just great, a great cast, story and for the music the same. :)

I just realized I'd never reviewed this - but rediscovering it on my desktop gave me the pleasure of watching it again.

Entertaining and fascinating all the way around - I have to admit that I saw where it was going fairly early, but that didn't affect the pleasure of watching it unfold.

Very well filmed, with clever use of camera angles and animations to give us something new to see - the actors were almost uniformly excellent (there were occasional level problems with the lines, but never with the delivery), and it was a delight to see Sisch trying on a new voice.

Overall, a truly wonderful film.

A clever, brutal, vindictive, slick, violent, smooth, well written, twisted and classic film thats true to the outstanding nature of the chosen genre, a "Gangster Ballad". So very well acted even with the minor VO crackles. DNR, K4 and the cast rocked this with unique characterizations and a vivid landscape of an underworld we can almost smell, its so vivid and wonderfully put together. I loved it. Nice work Sisch. very nice work.

5 stars well earned with this one.

I was engrossed from start to finish. I loved the Stolen Death series, but I think this tops them all. Very clever screenplay and incredibly well directed. The end was perfected, although I did work it out quite quickly, is was still a brilliant idea.

I thought you played the character fantastically. I fell in love with the accent. The whole cast was great.
Well done!

AN EXCELLENT MUST SEE FILM! Aside from the wonderful music, mods and sets which really only serve to highlight this production this movie presents a well scripted and well performed story. The camera was used to support the build up with lots of delightful angles that gave an artistic flair to this film. A top notch cast was recruited for this project and they delivered with each line and gave this film a seamless flow that leads the viewer on and into the climax. Predictable ending, perhaps, but still there is no way around how well thought, performed, and directed this movie is and the proof is in the viewing. A production to be proud of and again I'll say... AN EXCELLENT MUST SEE FILM!!!

Klasse! Hier passt alles zusammen.

Gruss Shadowking

Not to mention your Flawless direction. I loved the shoot-out sequence in the bar, very well edited. Also, you were amazing! Truthfully, this is the first movie of yours that i have watched, and i am officially a fan. I will now back track, and catch all of your previous work.

It's unfortunate that i can only give you 5 stars.

An excellent production by Sisch.

A good story and plot premise with built in suspense. Entertaining with interesting characters. However, try and avoid pre-advertising not to spoil the spoiler which sets everyone up to look for the twist making it a bit more predictable. May be better to put that in the ending credits of the movie.

The characters were well created and colorful. The voice actors did a very good.

Very good use of camera work. Excellent use of costuming and set design. The use of overlays and different set types to set-up different locales, feels, and even for flashback sequences were all done well. Music was used well in the film providing a good backdrop.

Critique: Some of the VO's don't come through in parts. Jack can get tiring after a time and it is always a difficult balance when one of the main character's has that problem and the impediment is not key to the plot.

Overall: A well done, top notch production. Done with a lot of time and care. A good story and good action movie. Lacks the overall impact and feel of some of your more substantial works, but the quality of the production comes through.

Do not take these four stars as a bad rating. Since you are a veteran member of TMO, I have no problem sharing my honest opinion with you.

Honestly, this film had a lot of pros and a lot of cons.

What was good: Direction and most of the voice work was good and really worked well with the film. Dialogue was wonderful, as well as the camera angels. You really got a feel for the characters, each with their own little quirks and mannerisms. The camera flowed well, and there was a real sense of continuity within scenes.

What was bad: This film could've been shortened a great deal. The core story could've probably been told within a ten minute time span. Some of the voice acting suffered due to scratchy mic work. Major downside for me was that the story was too predictable. I am unsure as to whether or not this was meant to be, but I believe Schroder's identity could have been masked a tad better.

Overall, a good action film in which I would recommend to any TMO viewer. Keep up the good work.

An extremely well shot and directed movie by Sisch with some great voice acting and some slick action style camera work.
The Highlight of this film was most certaintly it's presentation. From the opening credits to the ending ones, Schroder assaults us with a visual and editing style that reminds me a lot of Pulp Fiction in it's look and feel. I loved Sisch's use of camera placement in this movie especially as it always seemed to be in the right spot and the cuts were mostly clean and crisp. The voice acting was, for the most part, top notch, with Sisch going into new territories with her voice and the rest of the cast doing a fine job with their various parts. The music was appropriate and choosen well and added to the tone and style of the film.

Overall, Schroder was an enjoyable 17 minutes that seemed to fly by, and a directing style that speaks wonders to Sisch's ability as a director. Congratulations to Sisch on her first english film because it's a keeper.

What a movie.
You've ceated some nice characters here, and I think the VA's -although some of them hindered by their mic- portrayed them excellently, especially you and DNR.
The dialogue was good, and it reminded me too a bit of Tarantino, which for me is a great thing.
And then suddenly the truth became clear -for the characters I mean, because honestly I saw it coming from far ;)- and the dialogue was traded for a great action sequence with some really ingenious camerawork.
But for me the real star was the music. You've found some great musicians, and you also managed to set the right mood in every scene with their music.
Great job to all involved indeed!
Needless to say, Schröder definately got me ;)

First off, the storyline i felt was a little slow. Good idea but it was too long, the opening 10 mins kind of dragged on but i did wait it out. I was expecting a lot more from the hype it got but it didn't end too bad. A simple storyline but ok, now some vo's where up and down but i must say i've never seen a film on TMO with dedicated vo's like on this one and the dialog is the most adult dialog i've heard in a film apart from 1 or 2 others.

3.5 stars but 4 will do.

Ambitionierter Gangsterstreifen, der alles bietet, was man so erwartet.

Alles in allem: klare 5 Sterne.

Very cool! I thought you named the villain (protagonist) very smartly, because I actually expected this was the first Sisch film in which? (this would haven a spoiler so I will not continue)

I liked the opening credits and your use of overlays. I liked the way the story was laid out. I liked characterization of the characters. And I was impressed with your voice acting yet again. (The voice really sounded different from your other work).

I felt the rhythm of the movie could have been a bit faster here and there for a greater impact, and the stutter??s lines could have been speeded up with audacity as well.

Overall, a nicely told story and a excellent production. Very cool!

Schroder is an experience, great VOs from all but 2 create real people and DNR does an incredible role as a ganster.

IS there an "S" on my forehead or something????
SCHRODER was not your ordinary gangster type of movie. Extraordinary costuming and set usage were fantastic! The premise was well thought of and played nicely in the execution of the film. Sisch knows what we like to see! ===K4===

Das hast du was tolles hingelegt.

@k4ownzall You have a great voice buddy

Also alles sehr gut. 5 Sterne

Sisch! This is your best work to date! A very refreshingly different action piece (reminds me of Tarantino's works with the great characters, wonderful music, and stylish action sequences). I do have to say that I suspected Schroder's identify though halfway through (I don't want to spoil it so I won't give the reasons here). Fine performances by all the VA's, but I found two of the henchmen's voices a tad muffled (I just got some better speakers, so it picks those up). I especially appreciated the extraordinary editing and pacing for this piece--especially with the battle and dance sequences. A real treat of a film which just flew by.

Great story! Great actors also... just the sound of one of them (the scary weirdo) that could've had less "bass" on it, didn't get him always...
But other than that, I loved some great cam moves and cuttings, the action scenes were great and the lady in blue was so... soOo... heh...! :D
I really didn't want to watch a movie today, but couldn't resist for this one, and I'm far from being disappointed!
Hah damn... I already want to see the next Sisch movie!

I can't believe how quickly this movie was over!A real testament to the great flow of the storyline, along with the engaging dialogue, music selection, editing style, and filtered overlays...speaking of which,I love the lighting effect for the club scenes!Excellent, creatively done idea:-)that must have taken ages to edit.
Also, rather than use those standard tired-old stage dance scenes, instead you wisely chose to smartly edit together your own dance-sequence:people should take note with how you did this...nicely done.
I also liked the distinctive characters. Each had a well-defined personality brought out by the VO work.Nicely done:-)

Overall an enjoyable 17 minutes that felt much shorter, and one of the very few long movies that I will add to my downloaded collection:-)

As you heard on skype for approximately 45 minutes, I love Schröder :-)
The voice-acting was great and polished... unfortunately for one or two lines I couldn't quite make out what was said.. But the music, the plot, the direction was all WOW ;-) as usual with Mistress Sisch

I love Schröder

I liked this movie alot, it was a good, pure and down to the point gangster flick which had a nice, if not slightly predictable plot twist to it. The VO's were great, allthough as mentioned PegLeg's and Bufo0's mics kind of took some reality out of it. I also really liked the 1960's/70's type feel you provided, it kind of reminds me of a non-comedic "Pulp Fiction". I'm a sucker for this genre and thouroughly loved this. Well done! :).

I absolutely loved Schröder. Interesting and quick dialoug that your cast delievers with no real flaws. Excellent modding and suitable sets that set the mod for the film very well. The freecam was incredible well done and really secured my 5 stars. And Schröder was a interesting character indeed even though it didnt really come as an suprise yet ... very intruging. Excellent excellent work on this sisch:)

I really didn't know what to expect...but I have to say this was awesome....not only awesome...but kickass as well. Wow..I don't even know where to start. The story was engaging. The seventeen minutes just flew by. All the voice actors were spot on. Was that pegleg stuttering? Sexy LMAo

Good choices in mods, music and overlays. Everything was just perfect.
I'm also downloading this because ahole might flag this for the half of butt cheek.

Oh My! What can I say? The best thing for me was that I watched it once and just loved the story. Then I watched again and loved the directing, the sets, the music, the VOs (particularly DNR), the attention to detail (the pictures on the wall of the bar just blew me away) and the wonderful camerawork.
Oh, and it was ffuunn :)

Showtime!

What a wonderful gangster movie! :) The 17 minutes just flew by as I've watched the movie. I like the story, it's original, entertaining and it has a nice surprising twist. On the technical aspect you've done a excellent job. The sets, mods, overlays and a the wonderful costume of Silvia fit all perfectly together. Also the camera work is one of the best I've seen so far. Your wonderful cast did also a great job and you've chosen the right soundtrack for this movie. Overall I can easily say that this movie is "must see" to everyone.
Final conclusion: 5 great stars and two thumbs up from me! :)

Oh man, nobody should mess with Schroder indeed! This was a facinating story from start to finish. You captured the whole essense of a gangster plot which derived from really rough, no nonsense characters. Your casting choice was very dynamic which worked BRILLIANTLY. From the powerful yet enigmatic Mob Bossto the s.ss.stuttering gang member who had a facinating flashback/backstory. The screenplay flowed brilliantly and had memorable moments.

Your use of overlays (animated overlays aswell or numerous static colour overlays) was brilliant to set the scene and mood of the club atmosphere. You managed to fuse this well with some excellent well timed editting and angles to provide the viewer with a 1st Person feel of excitement. You also did a great job of using various scenes and linking them up appropriately to make things flow well, which is an attribute I love to see directors use. Your use of Free cam was highly experimental and effective.

I loved the great twist you added to the end which really made the movie feel complete. It also allowed for the character to redeem herself with the situation. I couldnt help but smile and chuckle to myself with satisfaction during the final conversation between Shroder and the Mob Boss, which made the brilliant action sequence seem fully justified and enjoyable!

Overall I think this is a brilliant film that deserves the praise it should and will get.

I enjoyed this immensly as behind the script, characters, angles, settings, mood,
you managed to first and foremost ENTERTAIN me and I applaud you for that. I look forward to your next film and I also look forward to working with you very soon, but for now...

Nuke Well in Schröder!!!!

Enjoyable flick, sisch. I liked it a lot. For 17+ minutes, it went by pretty quick, although I think it could have done with a little "tightening". But that's minor.

VO work was great, although the stuttering character was a little overdone, I think. Again, minor. He certainly made up for it in other areas of his performance (strangely, that was the swearing! lol).

Music was well chosen, and well used. It all fitted perfectly.

Sound effects all worked great, but I think the gun shots could have been a bit louder (but that might be because I listened to this with my headphones?)

Loved the retextured Set!

Storywise: without giving anything away to new viewers, to be perfectly honest, I would have been surprised if someone ELSE had turned out to be "our hero"... but that, again, could be just me (I watch too many bloody films! lol)

Overall: Well worth the wait! Nice one! :)

OMG... I was not expecting this... Amazing. Shroder - lethal and hot! The disco color overlays were just awesome with your marvelous use of free-cam - I'm speachless... I'm sorry about my VOs though, they could have been better as they were done before the voice competition and I'm much better now :P anyway, everyone did great, not to mention the music and sfx. HOT-PICK!!!!

So when you put all this together you get one hell of a movie one that I am proud to be part of.

plot was a little thin for me..but it was a good ole shoot em up action film with expert direction and great shots.. so i did enjoy it..I wished that it really would have been a surprise ending and that Schroder was more sophisticated.. to be it seemed like Schroder's methods were more like a hack than a professional killer....

but all in all i enjoyed the action and moments of the dialogue

Cool film. Nice edited and good use of music. I did have some misgivings though.

The VO was kinda up and down, DNR, K4 and yourself did a bang up job, but Bufu and PegLeg really suffered from dodgy mics, kinda throws the whole thing off and made it hard to get into :(

Also the length was a stumbling block, you could have probably told the story in 10, but hey thats up to you :)

Good movie and loved the...branding :)

Certainly seems like a great start to a great series. Schroder is an exciting new character that could easily spawn a few sequels. The film was just great and showed what all can be done with such an interesting plot. Great job!

Ah, Sisch, I had it figured out half way through :)
A tremendous piece of action... and the film was great too.
Some excellent production value, great credits, overlays, music,
voices and custom sets.
I wasn't sure where this was going for a while, there where some hints from
"The Usual Suspects", with the Kaiser Sochez thing (great sequence in black & white) but then it struck me: "The Sting", I always liked that particular plot element :)
Overal very enjoyable, a nice flowing story with a climatic action sequence to top it of. A lot of time and effort invested and it shows.
You keep getting better and better, with a little nasty side :)
Great job !
