Film Description
I know what you're thinking -- at just over 7 minutes it seems a tad long for a trailer. Well, that's because it's not so much a trailer as a character study. This is you chance to meet Dr. McAvoy, the main character in my upcoming film "High School Girls", and is possibly the most terrifying concept for a character I have seen on TMO.

I deliberately set this to a low production standard for a number of reasons. First, I wanted to get it finished and out here for you all to see, so I can get your feedback about him. Also, this being a character study it is not so much about what you see as what you hear: the ramblings of a seemingly ordinary man who is most decidedly unordinary.

In the real world, the most horrific monster is man. Meet him now.

A didn't find that too long movie wise, I just wanted it to end because my parents were near and it has some "questionable" VOs...

Still, they were wonderfully acted, and now I am looking forward to the movie, just won't be able to watch it until no one is around. ;)

My problem with this movie was that I think it was WAY to long. the character was very well acted, but it wasn't interesting enough for a seven minutes long movie, and it got very repetetive. and the subtitles that appeared some times lingered on way to long. with some better editing this trailer could have been better. but I still believe the movie could be great :)

Ok, so this isn??t a glossy polished piece of work, but as you said, this is just to serve as a character introduction, and what a chilling, perverted character it is too.
I??ve got to say you??ve got me interested.
This is going to be a tricky subject to handle, you??re a braver man than me.
I??ll definitely be there to see this when it??s complete.
Oh and the laugh at the end really creeped me out too!

Creepy... very creepy and disturbing! The contrast between that "normal guy" and the blue backdrop with the information works very well.. and that laugh at the end.. I think that you didn´t use music to accompany it made it even more real, and chilling. Looking forward to the movie!

I have a few reasons for the review here, so let me explain.

Being, as you stated, a Trailer I classified it on a 4 point scale and ignore plot comments:

First of all, symbolism and a deeper meaning with TMO films is what has invented, re-invented, and expanded our medium and what drives us, most of us. You dont' disapoint, you dig up on subject matter that should be discussed in open forum, and for that you achieved near perfection.

However, most of the film I had other windows open, I would flip between the man on the screen talking in an obviously well acted role. Just talking. Film is a visual medium, and I know that your conquest lies in illustrating skill with mods, but you still must illustrate. I watched about half the film and listened to the other half and within my memory there lies little distinction, for the visuals were constant.

The dialog was creepy, which confuses me on how to rate. I felt like I do after those "Don't Do Drug" sermons at school, but you managed to get beneat the skin and dig up some things inside me, for that you get high marks, well done.

It was an interest watch, and I think that your film will scare me beyond belief, but to believe I shall try. Please Private Message me upon release of other related content, it is always exciting to see what you have up your sleeve.

I'm really intrigued by this idea. The sick, disturbing mind of what could be a teacher, a principal, a janitor or just a random man who likes nothing more than to befriend, seduce, and murder high school girls. That being said, I applaud you for trying to do this in a low budget manner as it did give that feeling that this was just a man giving an interview or filming himself in the privacy of his office, but I felt it was a little too low budget. Even a few camera moves or spritzing up some title cards may have bumped this up into a 5 star trailer.

Still, I was impressed by the way the subject matter was presented. Acting was very on cue and I loved how the character relished in playing with the idea of doing this to girls, but never actually admitted to doing it himself. Very cool. I know I should be able to 5-star the movie itself when it comes out. ;) Looking forward to it.

I almost did not watch this trailer because of the title...I thought it was going to be some sexist piece of crap.....glad I did break down and read the description on the forum. I watched it...and it was quite creepy and disturbing but it does serve as a reminder that these people are out there. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that most women know two or three of these types of guys in there lifetime. I know I have run across a few. It's sad and it's sick.

Will watch the movie when it comes out. Looks great so far.

ok dude, you just creeped out my girl. I think thats what you were trying to do, so good job there.
couple of things I would mention. A black overlay with type may have worked better for the words. The blue color didnt seem to fit for me. Also the words would flash, as subtitles allways do if they cross scenes.(almost cost you a star)
Also, the guy was using the same gestures over and over, I use to not care about that either, but now it allways bothers me. Changing up the scene a bit can fix that, if the backround becomes a problem(looking different) then use the stage and a backdrop. Or get the sets as props mod(with blue screen mod), I am using it now and its awsome for getting any scene in any set.

this looks to be a promising thriller, good work.

A controversial subject, a disturbing film truly. The premise alone provides the skin-crawling feel needed for a good horror movie.

You create the feel of "The Blair Witch Project" by making it a realistic study. But even in the creation of "low production value" to obtain the desired impact - it still basically has to be a full production project. The only altering needed ro improve this would have been achieved by using a black screen or any type of backdrop instead of the plain blue screen during the written commentary portions.

Less is more - the mantra of the teasers and trailers. The longer you make the teaser the more you will need to put into it, character study or not. It becomes a little rougher when this type of presentation starts running beyond 3-4 minutes to keep the audiences attention.

The use of silent commentary and the recorded images of this sociopath helps create the disturbing atmosphere and discomfort for the viewers. The subject matter alone is enough to make most cringe. It is an effective style, and you present an interesting study.

Great character creation and perfect voice for it. The study does an excellent job in introducing us to Dr. McAvoy.

Good overall concept. With the increased length you are forcing your hand to also increase the production value.

Definitely proves to be quite the disturbing horror movie and looking forward to your film project upon its completion.

A very touchy subject for many I believe, but I am not one of them. I am very much looking forward to this film as I myself am working on something that the coomunity as a whole may be uncomfertable with or find disturbing. Charecters like this one unfortunately are out there and for someone to have the buts to make a movie that people may find uncomfertable is what the moies are about. Stir an emotion, or get a rise out of someone. Very much looking forward to this RPO

Sometimes I don't like to be honest, but the truth is this was just an ok film/trailer/study. For a trailer, too long and it needed some music. The study was a good idea, and I get the idea of what this character is like, but I felt like you were just rambling on at points and it became rather boring. I know you are a talented filmmaker and that you will treat this with care and not stretch to far into this deep pool of disturbing topics, but that you will create a masterpiece that will make us cringe and think.

Way too long for a trailer. Honestly i found it too much to take, its such a touching subject and i find a little unsuitable for TMO. But thats just my oppinion, good luck to you for how ever it goes.

Too long for a traier but not for an indepth character study of a main character.

Contoversial? Yes!
Daring? Yes!
Looking forward to the final movies? Yes!

Personally I think you have achieved what you set out to do.
You could of filmed a black screen with just sound and gotten pretty much the same effect but we wouldn't of seen Dr. McAvoy. Chancy movie to make but it may pay off. Let me know when this movie is done...

Yes I know it will be quite awhile but I'll wait.

Hmm, certainly got my attention, and piqued my interest for the main event. Personally I thought it could have lost 2 minutes and still have been as effective.
I'm looking forward to the film (in a funny sort of way if you know what I mean), nice to see more "grown up" films appearing.
Lastly, kudos on the ending - just as I was thinking that the sinister laugh was being overdone, you blew my buds out my ears. Clever.

As a trailer it's just...okay. I think if it was half as long it might have been twice as effective. Looks good - can't wait to see it.

I liked the laugh at the end. BTW - You own me for a new pair of speakers.
Looks good - can't wait to see it

yeah, not too bad, but too long on the blue backdrop. This, for me, broke the tension and suspence which was the creepyness you were going for. Very long for a teaser trailer and i think it lost its impact about halfway through.

dude this is really good the problem is that it looks like a govt add to prevent raping or somethin like that. nevertheless is good and the voice and dialogue of the perv is very well done.

From watching this promising clip I would say it is more of a Short Featurette than a Trailer. You manage to showcase a promising film with great production values and introduce a story and concept that is promising to ROCK and SOCK the TMO Community. I patiently await your bold new vision!

Nuke Well in the Controversy!

Excellent teaser trailer Rpo! Even though this was quite a bit longer than usual teaser trailers on TMO, it still gave a really good in-sight to what the film would be about. I really enjoyed this preview. The vo's were top-notch and really well acted. I'm eager in anticipation to see this new film of yours Rpo. It looks very promising and i know the real thing will be very promising!
Best of luck with this project. Great work. I can't wait to see this.
Very excited. Thanks for entertaining me. A really good preview.
