Film Description
This is a side story to my El Dorado series.

I made this for the In Their Shoes compitition but did not make the deadline. Its a great addition to the El Dorado series however. Hope you like it.

The hi -res version is much smoother.

That chase scene was terrific and there were some good acting performances in there (I liked the Queen in particular - that scene where they have a heart-to-heart ;) was particularly nice).

Very good music too by madboss and maestro.

This sets up chapter 3 nicely as we take bets on whether the Spanish will have any kind of a chance against these extremely agile warrioresses.

A really spectacular shot of the lead character sitting on the edge of a cliff, also showed great vision in what is shaping up to be a truly epic series.

I have one minor complaint though, I thought there should have been some ambient sound effects added to this film. It sounded like the characters were talking in their bedroom instead of in the jungle. Of course, you can't send them into the amazon rainforest to do their lines - but you can add the rainforest on top of what they give you.

Apart from that, this is thrilling stuff with top class editing and imaginative use of overlays and backdrops.

I'm absolutely amazed by what you have done with this movie! It's great! All the voice acting was great! Especially Lucindamc123 she scared me just listening to her! and YAY for me not being the one showing my bum!

An amazing work that adamantly defies the restrictions of The Movies, let this teach all those that feel it to be to limited to create true movies.
I loved the story, damn I wish I could see that on the silver screen. :)

I didn't know that the Amazons spoke in such an charming british accent. :p
No really, Laurajsoffe delivered her lines beautifully and Lucinda gave off a great Queen.

The use of overlays and backdrops was excellent, I loved that last scene with her on the cliff.
And the intro scene with it's clever use of Sound FX, remarkable!

Wow, that blew me away... yet again.

Top notch directing and an excellent side-story to the amazing El Dorado series. You really helped create that "Jungle" atmosphere, but a few times I did see the backdrop being cut off by the blue sky which really snapped me back to reality, but I never stayed there for long as I entered another dimension as I watched this gripping tale with awesome overlays, spectacular free-cam, jaw-dropping set dressing, well constructed editing, perfect fitting music, beautiful costumes and top notch voice acting (although once or twice a character lacked emotion where I felt it coming, such as when the Queen says "Be free like an Amazon woman!")
This is the first Amazon film on TMO I think, and you did an absolute incredible job mate.
The final scene where she was praying on the rock was very, very, very clever and very well done to depict that era and the beliefs of the Amazon woman.

Yet again great work, I look forward to the continuation of the series! (And the film in high quality :D)

I finds it hard to put a word on this movie. You have made nothing but a masterpiece. The history of the mysteries women living at the amazon river. It's a movie all TMo users should see, perhaps also other people.

If You would tell a little of Your beutiful Freecam work, I would be very very happy. Thanks for a good movie.

A FREDTHEDUCK REVIEW

firstly, let me apologise for taking so long to review this, but I havebeen too busy over the past few weeks to review it.

Plot: 19/20 - That was a very good ida, and well made too. An interesting concept, which I guess is somehow linked to true history.

Originality: 5/5 - I have definitely never seen anything like that on TMO before. VERY well done.

Predictability: 14/15 - to be fair, there wasn't a lot to predict, but this movie was so fast paced, that you don't see anything coming. The only part I definitly knew would happen was the hunters being defeated. It was obvious that she would win.

VOs: 13/15 - incredible performances from all cast members, but I did notice a few mic pops...

Custom content: 10/10 - I would say that movie was written around the mods, because they were that good and key to the plot.

Editing: 14/15 - very well edited too...awesome use of free-cam, and nearly no mistakes. My only criticis here is of the opning and closing credits, which I feel were on a little too long... but we all make that mistake ;)

Music/sfx: 9/10 - there is no music that would have better suited that movie. One or two of the sound effects, however, sounded a little out of place.

The wow factor: 9/10 - I am very impressed. This is the first of your movies that I have seen, but I am sure that I will be seeing more. Excellent.

TOTAL: 93% - 5 star!

Good Movie

Plot: 5/5
Music: 5/5
VO: 5/5

I also liked the Camera drives! Well done!

Pro's and Con's.
Pros First:
Excellent Production Value, AMAZING Camera Angles, Good Mods, Excellent Music, Outstanding Voice Overs, Smashing Editing, and Sexy Costumes Hahaha. Really good directing, and by that I mean knowing what action would fit in what spot.

Good back drops, and good way of making the sets seem bigger than they really are. I always run into the problem of sets not being vast enough. I can't even imagine how to make a decent western.

Cons:
I have a few problems with this movie. The spear bit was cheesy, and sort of detracted from the overall quality of the movie. Some of the bits where it was clear that two clips were edited together with an outside program for an effect also wasn't very smooth. (which is understandable, but I didn't like it.) It's clear that you were inspired by Apocalypto. If not, then you definitely have to see that movie, you'd like it.

Overall BY FAR 5/5.

George, you've got yourself a great film. Simply breathtaking! I loved the chase, and didn't even mind the chopiness of it all. I thought it added to it. You have used your sets and decorating to perfection, in creating your different world. The story is gripping, just fantastic and your voice actors have done an amazing job. Kudos to you, bravo, job well done! I'll be sure to check out the Eldorado series.

I downloaded this previously to view, and forgot to leave a review (apologies). This was a spectacular follow-up to your initial El Dorado episode. I have come to expect great overlays and animations in your action sequences, and this one certainly did not disappoint. The music was also brilliantly selected and placed to bring yet another level of excitement and enjoyment to this film. Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the fun first-person POV freecam shots used liberally throughout this piece. I think all TMO is eagerly awaiting episode three of El Dorado.

Masterful camerawork, accurate costumes and incredible music make this film one of the most beautiful I have seen on TMO. Every scene seemed to be put together with timne and thought as the camera would loop around outstanding backdrops and sets. You're right, this film would be much less entertaining without the beautiful mods that were made by talented people.
I also liked the voice-overs, LauraJSoffe being the most impressive. What really amazed me about this film is how, in the script, you captured such emotion and it was so realistic. This is created by not only great Voice-actors, but also flawless writing.
Now this genre isn't neccessarily my cup of tea, yet I do want to be fair. I will admit some parts lagged a little but the scene's beauty made up for it...

The Archaic Awards
Review

Story: 9/10 A very cool story. Told in a way that made it move fast. However, I felt there wasn't enough story and that a good chunk of it was just action.

Music: 5/5 Music worked very well. I really enjoyed myself.

VO/Subs: 10/10 All voiceovers were superb. A wonderful cast of female actresses.

Script: 5/5 A very decent script. Good job!

Extras: 6/5 Again you shine as extra things. Special FX was great along with your use of freecam and overlays.

Editing: 13/15 All in all the editing was very good. The fight scene felt a little choppy, but not bad. You have tremendous talent, and I am glad to see you make such amazing films.

Final Score: 48/50

Just watched this in Hi Res and had a blast. Really well put together film, beautifully shot - loved the cliff top scene. I thought the music was outstanding and fitted the visuals perfectly, driving the chase and fight scenes to another level.

Damned good stuff

Really nicely done GL, this is the second movie of yours that I've enjoyed recently.
You have a fresh energy that is hard to ignore and you always draw me into the (epic) action. The sense of movement and motion was the big visual for me here .. so much
clever work witht the chase and combat sequences.

The music was very well picked.. It helped make the movie in a maajor fashion.

The voice acting was quite good: one minor note, there were a few too many "P-pops" with one role, it distracted from her otherwise excellent acting performance. As a director you should feel free to say: "re-do it without the popping" and most actors will gladly oblige you I'm sure.

nice showing yet again,

gp

Never in my short life as a reviewer have I saw so much use of custom overlays, musics, costumes and sets. Weirder is the fact that all of this blends into a perfect plot that kept me in front of my screen till the end. Oh, and I loved your logo concept too ^^
In short, a great movie, which greatly deserves my 5 stars. Keep up the good work ^^

Ever since I found your studio, you just keep getting better and better.

Your overlay work is incredible. Many times I found myself saying "HOW THE **** DID HE DO THAT?" The chase was incredibly intense and awesome. It reminded me somewhat of "Apocalypto." Wonderful voiceovers as well. You have become extremely successful as a director on this site. Wonderful eye for style, precision and technicality. Your work continues to amaze me...

Firstly, I really liked the written introduction, It??s good to learn something new.
A surprisingly dark story which I didn??t expect, But I enjoyed it all the more for the surprise.
Some very good free cam work coupled with the wonderful musical score really helped create the perfect atmosphere for this movie.
The customisation and editing were both excellent. I particularly enjoyed the fight scene at the end of the sixth minuet. I thought that was extremely well shot.
Rite of the Amazon is an impressive and very entertaining work and one which I enjoyed immensely.

I was scanning through the forum and caught sight of your thread on this movie and it grabbed my attention, so many movies do not.

After watching, it seemed a good little piece, fast paced and interesting. The use of overlays seems something many are incorporating to show the shots unavailable in the game. I also like the way you used free cam, even though I have seen it used that way before.

The story was probably suitable to the length, keeping everything around one central character was a good choice. 10 minute movies are really the best you can expect people to watch on TMO, attempting anything longer needs a whole horde of great things from script to production.

The VO acting for me was poor to average and really could have done with cleaning up and levelling out the volume levels. Some sounded distance while others suffered from popping. Regarding the acting, some sounded wooden and nobody stood out for me.

Music was well chosen, but I wonder was this written especially for this movie, I suspect not. This is where those great movies of TMO excel in that the custom score adds a dimension, chosen music struggles to meet.

Overall it was a good TMO movie, slightly above the average stuff I have seen and that seem to be crowding the charts these days. However the TMO charts are turning into more a popularity contest then based on the directors actual skill. For once this movie should do well based on your talent, not on your forum activity.

Good luck to you and I hope this does well - 4 stars.

A Very good movie

The chasing&fighting scenes were execellent and with some new ideas.
The VO were very good and clear also the story was good.
The use of backgrounds and overlays were great.
Maybe still some work could have been done in the editing to make some of the scenes more natural but mostly it was very good and with some interesting angles.

This movie deserves the 5 solid stars :)

incredible camera work, incrediable action, and great music score, some of the voices where very well done, there where some lines, that lacked feeling in no way your fault...
but I have to say there is somthing about the story line that made me lose interest...not sure how to say it but somthing was off almost dull with the story line, which is the only reason why I am not putting 5 stars, I guess it was kinda quick, you didn't get much feel for the characters. it would probly help for me to watch the rest of the series, but you did mention this was a back story...

Geogre Locust your turning into one of the best film makers on TMO. Period.

where can i start? the story excellent, the action heartstopping, and the jewel of this crown is the chase, i have never seen use a good use of overlays on my short time on tmo, the music was perfectly choosen for the chase. my favourite bit was the sitting on the edge of the cliff, spectacular stuff mate, but i would have to argge with JazzX, ambient sounds should have been included and i suggest that you use a big blue set to create bigger and better sets. but only minor suggestions.

This is top notch stuff and if this doesn't get number 1 spot and something like "outside fire alarm mod" does , than we should sit down and kill ourselves

Excellent work! I was totally drawn into the story and the characters actually looked their parts. The voice actors did a simply outstanding job. I loved the costumes and the sets. The music, well, it had me by the throat from the beginning. Very exciting fight scenes and some great camera work here as well. The use of mods, custom backgrounds and overlays ~ wow! I could never do anything even remotely as ambitious as this film.

However, some minor things about this film bothered me. The constant motion of the camera, especially during the meeting with the queen, kept breaking my concentration on the actors and the dialog exchanged between them. I??m sure you filmed it that way to mask the limitations of the in-game scenes, but it definitely became distracting. I also think the prayer on the cliff ran a little too long. I mean, I got she was praying right away but then the scene just felt like it went on and on. The POV shot of the ladies moving through the trees was a really cool effect ?? the first time, but then seemed repetitive and gimmicky as the film went on.

Don??t get me wrong, this is an excellent film and you should be proud of all your hard work because it shows on the screen. I would recommend this film to anyone (if anyone here listened to me, that is). Definitely worthy of 5 Stars.

Well done, though for me the storyline was pathetically weak, the strong visuals and sound track more than made up for what I would consider to be a shallow storyline. The use of camera movement to make scenes more dramatic, the quick paced editing, the graphic visuals really made this movie come to life in so many manners, while also being accentuated with a powerful soundtrack that fit perfectly with the theme. Very nice job!

Pretty amazing...

This is an excellent side story to the El Dorado series, and really puts us in the mindset of the Amazons. First of all the music was fantastic. It, along with the choice of sets, backdrops (and possibly sound fx? can't remember if I heard any ambiance) really helped to immerse the viewer in the Amazon world. If I was going to be REALLY picky, I would say that at times I felt more in the Yucatan than the Amazon, but... yeah I won't be mean. The backdrops and overlays are once again done perfectly. The chase scene... wow. You've taken what really caught everyone's eyes with El Dorado part 1: the fight scene on the ship, and really refined and fine tuned it into a seamless, adrenaline-filled masterpiece of an action scene. If I had one qualm with this movie, it would be the VOs. They were good for the most part, but at times they were a little hard for me to hear and understand, but they weren't bad enough to bring up any legitimate complaint.

A true masterpiece and a fantastic addition to what will no doubt be one of TMO's greatest epics.

Truly a movie that deserve high recognition. The effort time and thought that was put into this production was very evident from the start.
The creative use of overlays and mods was remarkable. The voice talent was superb. Very well written and directed.
The music alone deserves high praise. It went extremely well with the scenes and tone of the action.
The use of free-cam was very evident and well used by the use of creative editing. I was drawn into the action and the story. Although some scenes did jump a bit at times, it was not enough to distract from the film.

Great job and looking forward to the next part.

That was another one of your eye candy marvels! Your overlay skills, scarely enough, keep getting better somehow! The story was great and action packed, a nice supplement to your El Dorado series.
The only flaws I saw were the spelling errors during the text intro. I little unknown tip on overlays(honestly I don't see how I can give advice to you...;) You can edit overlays without having to reshoot a scene all over again. So just change the text and re-export, the overlay will be changed but you won't have to reshoot anything!
The slowdown I imagine was from all the jungle plants you had on scene. The best thing you can do is minimize the amount of props on set to only those that will be visible during filming. I had a similar issure with my cow/horse battle in my movie...:)

All in all well done! I look forward to seeing a hi-res version!!!
