opening sequence was excellent. that series of short, close shots had the tension building right from the start. and that tickin clock!

well, the thing that strikes me about this film is the relationship of the two characters. these two characters have the classic Apollonian/Dionysian relationship. one good, one bad. will the dark win out over the light, or will it end the other way around? the dominant/submissive dynamic that develops between a master and his slave. sort of like a pimp and his ho. and the problem with this is that the ho character here asks too many questions. always questioning what the pimp says. why this, and what that. something like 'don't you care...' 'people could have been killed.' and so on. it should be pretty obvious to this guy that his dominant friend doesn't give a damn. and the dominant one, like any pimp worth his salt, would have just slapped the [not-so-nice-word!] and told him to shut up. but that doesn't happen, he just gives another line, like: 'you're lucky to have me.' this disappointed me at first.

well, by the end, it was apparent why he never slapped his ho. he was just a big pussy (wimp, if pussy gets censored). he didn't have the nerve to actually do the killing, he had to make the submissive one do it. this acceptably resolved the biggest problem i had with the movie.

now for that ending. just at the very end, i said, oh boy, he's finally going to get some balls, and shoot this [bad-word!]bag. no big surprise, what's all the fuss about? but then, you twisted it just enough. one of those 'hitch[eye-hurting-word!]' endings that my mother used to love so much. you get to decide yourself how it ends. did he shoot his master? did he shoot the kid? did he shoot himself?? who knows? any ending would have sufficed. but this ending was better than any.

i notice that this movie came out in may of last year. just a month before the sopranos final episode, which ended similarly. you beat david chase to the punch by one month! pretty impressive, as that episode is considered a classic.

all in all, a great job. thanks jazzx, for making me watch this one. and thanks qtigger for making a decent suspense movie, which is much needed and lacking here on TMO.

A superbly acted piece with one of the most hideous characters ever seen in a TMO film. The ending was left open ended, I know who I would've shot!

I'll get the one minor niggle out of the way right now, I found the VO volume level was consistently too loud - but that was it. Everything else about this film was excellent. The excellent music came in at exactly the right times and made the film so tense that it was almost unbearable to watch at the end (lol - in a good way).

The choice of facial expressions was terrific too - as in where we see Terry being pressured into beating up the wino. Rudy really is the stuff nightmares are made of and, largely down to the brilliant acting, is one of the most horrifying characters I've ever seen in a TMO film. He felt like a real person, which is actually terrifying when you think about it.

Excellent writing and a good use of non-linear structure were in evidence. I loved Rudy's line [paraphrased] "if you're enjoying it, how can it be wrong?!"

A top class film and no mistake.

Impeccably and incredibly designed, every detail of the amazing film "Pressure" is put together flawlessly by its master creator, qtigger, also known for his thrilling, horror-noir, "The Night Hunter."

The story follows Rudy and Terry, two very different entities who manage to remain "friends." Terry is an abused young man who follows his friend along. Rudy is a young man with a very dark and violent personality. The story follows their brutal escapades and their conflicts with one another. The plot is suitably dark and well constructed, and it provides much background on the two central characters. The exceptional storytelling that qtigger puts into the script and the great direction he puts into the actual film really brings the characters to life. The riveting voice-acting by BlazeLeeDragon and MurpheyKid only helps this masterpiece.

Overall, this is a flawless, powerful film that really pulls you in with raging intensity. Easily one of the most emotional and dark films out there.

What astounds me the most about this film is the emotional depth and resolve of these characters, yet they're so easy to understand. The initial conversation between Rudy and Terry tells us everything we need to know, and from there we are swept into a brutal, story-driven tale of anguish, regret...and 'pressure.'

This is quite a dark film, with a brutal theme and undertone highlighting the events. Yes, the ending is predictable---but it's the journey to the climax that matters. Terry is weary of his ill-fated lifestyle, yet won't defy his partner in crime. Rudy is an obsessive control freak, and an easy target for Terry to latch onto for emotional comfort. Obviously, with Terry's past and Rudy's incoherantly violent personality, something had to give...

This is an enormous step up from "Night Hunter," and guarantees you a place among TMOs future greats. KJust keep churning out magnificent films like "Pressure."

Amazing storytelling and acting combined with lighting and camerawork and music to create an incredible tale of distinguishing peer pressure with morality. The relationship that Rudy provides for Terry is like out of the frying pan and into the fire. You laid out case after case of flashbacks during the carride, so that I really felt his angst as the climax of the movie brought to a close. If I was Terry in those circumstances, I think I'd understand my response. I liked the ending.

I really like this film for the depth of character. Honestly, I can't marvel at most of the visuals, the progression, and/or the overall. It was splendid, but not spectacular. However, you evolved character from nothing and created something from a rough idea.

Honestly, the film centers around two bold characters, but that is what makes it beautiful. You should teach others characterization because the talent is amazing, each film I watch with your hands in the mix always produces a unique but importantly bold characters. Again, you haven't let me down. Well done, well done.

And yes, nice ending :D

DUDE this was a great film! The whole direction was excellent, the characters were outstanding-Rudy was a maniac (addicted to the "rush"), and Terry i felt so bad for him. I loved the whole flashback sequences. The music was top notch, it carried the movie.
Final Thought-I don't know about many people but I know Ive been part of a pressured relationship with friends but here is a defining moment. Here we see hard far friendship goes when someone like Rudy is given more apperciation than he deserves. The ending capitvated me, even though its evident that Rudy was slain we'll never no huh? You've done a great job (bookmarking), bringing some powerful filmmaking to TMO. 5STARS

That was brilliant!

Characters for me are one of the most important things in films to really get into it. The characters in this film definitely all felt real and were voiced acted really really good! That and the thing behind the film to resist peer pressure makes it one of my favorite TMO movies.

Truly very well done!

That was a good flick right there.

It had my attention and kept me focused in. The suspense kept building up and it keeps me wondering who exactly got shot. My brother watched a fair bit of it with me and he said that he thought Rudy got shot. I somewhat agree with him, and if someone was to get shot, I personally hope he's right...

BUT WILL WE EVER KNOW?!?!?!?!?

This was a good bit-o-work. I hope stuff continues to go well with you.

That was an excellent piece of work, the first thing I notice is the music very well done to you on that regards giving it a very nice tone that sets up the atmosphere well. The titles were the next and very well made.

However what it really comes down to is the plot, a dominant guy bullying (or even better) pressuring someone into doing something wrong. I loved the buildup to the final scenes in the basement. The flashbacks were a nice touch, remmebering what they had done before, really set up those final scenes well.
The ending was the best, I liked the decision to stop the movie at where it did.

I think that what really brings this movie through was the Dialog and the Voice acting some excellent work that drew out the characters really well.

Great work

Loved it!! What else could one say about this film. Everything was great. From the unique opening credits to the surprising end. I must say, I haven't been a big fan of VO's on TMO because some of the time I feel like I'm watching a badly dubbed film and it can take away from the experience (which is why I use subtitles in my films). But when VO's turn out as great as this, then they make the experience an unforgettable one. The voice inflections were perfect for every emotion and the voices were very distinct from one another. As for the story, it was very enjoyable. I was involved until the very end, and the 13 minutes went by very quickly. You did a great job with this and I'm glad I took the time to watch it.

Great Movie!Although there is not much amazing visuals and not alot of spectacular scenes or things that "blow your mind" and everything seems pretty calm all the time. And music seems to be quiet and nothing exciting. But the dialogs and story was amazing.Character development was pretty well developed between the conversation of Rudy and Terry. And story builds up as time goes by.The voice acting was perfect! It really played a big part of the movie! If it wasn't the Vos and the character development, the movie would be trash. But you pulled through!Good job!

Free-cam use 4.5/5-Almost perfect, some shot weren't very inspired (like one I saw on the roof), but it was very good, specialy in the end, we can feel the pressure.

Story 5/5-I guess something is missing at the end...we hear a gunshot and we can supose almost everything because of the begining. We know that the victim is still in it. But what happened, did they killed each other? I don't think as we heard only one shot, so the only option is he shot himself, cause if that wasn't the case, the victim won't be still lock...or maybe the begining is really the begining and have nothing to do with the end...a little bit confusing. In fact that was really well written.

VO/Music 4.5/5-Again, very well done. The voice were clear and easy to understand. Sound sfx were great and music...I haven't noticed it, that means it was good enough.

Editing 4.5/5-Some minor flaw in the editing like some shot on the roof. When the cam start to move when they are speaking, it did shock me, that means a problem in the editing. But the rest was good, the flash back are very well introduced.

Enjoyment 4.5/5-I have to admit that long speech are quite boring, but you did so well with the editing, and the actor are so much in their role that this is not so boring. A very good point!

Conclusion:In fact I already watch it some times ago...I guess I forgot to give a review...so now it's done ;) A very good movie by his story, it's editing and technical aspect. Quite impressive. Good Job.

Total 23/25- 5 Stars congratulation, this is the higuest score I had for the moment in my review thread!!

It was a good movie. Te characters were well devolped. The Terry character did get on my nerves after a while. At some points I was hopeing Terry would die!

The voice overs for Rudy were good but I felt that the VOs for Terry could have been better. The story also got a bit boreing as the movie went along. But then it picked up near the end.

SPOILER!!!
I did like the way you ended it. It made the viewer have to guess who got shot. Did Terry shoot Rudy, himself, of the other guy. Good stuff.

Im stuck between a 4 and a 5 star rateing. But I think I will give it a 4 star. Because even though it was a well made movie the conversations between Rudy and Terry got a bit to cheesey. And the "are you with me" conversation draged on for too long.

I really enjoyed watching this
The influence of the strong on the weak is a great subject matter to put into a short film. It builds as one character struggles with his morals or the pressure from Rudy and ends with the element of the unknown.

very well written acted and directed..a fine film indeed... thanks for directing me to it (excuse the laeness of my review)

This has to be one of, if not the best, movie on The Movies Online. The voice overs were amazing, the story line was brilliant, and the camera work was exceptional. Pressure has probably the most compelling storyline of any movie on this website. It pushes the boundries of emotion for a movie, especially a movie that is made in a game! I loved the "cliffhanger" ending (although it's not really a cliffhanger if you payed attention in the beginning). Excellent, excellent, excellent! If anyone says anything negative about this movie, then they're out of their mind.

02 FILM REVIEW

Let me first start by saying, how dare you end that movie like that! No there's nothing wrong with the ending, in actual fact its one of the best and most brave endings on TMO I've seen to date. But I was so into the story, and so convinced I knew where it was going to end up that I was totaly shocked you went and pulled that one on me. Now I know the ending is going to annoy a hell of a lot of people, it all depends on what you wanted from the ending. For me that was a nice little move that worked alongside the rest of the movie perfectly. Pressure was a movie I didn't know what to expect from, I'd never heard of it, I knew nothing of the story, I didn't know anything whatsoever, and to be honest perhaps that made me adore the movie even more than usual. I expected so little from this movie, that when it delivered and ended up being one of the best movies on this site I was left completely gobsmacked. This is tight thriller that keeps you gripped from beggining to end, the characters are interesting and you genuinely want to see what happens to them, the direction so beautiful it left me in awe, and that climax so perfect that it makes this so much more than a five star triumph, it makes it a movie that deserves to be in top ten movies of this site. The movie just works on so many levels and if I'm honest nothing stood out as being bad or just average to me at all. It all worked together brilliantly, just from this one movie I can see you're a very talented and very skilled filmaker, and one that deserves all the success that this site can give you.

For a storyline with actually so little happening in it you still managed to make this into one heck of a movie. This is the movies greates triumph. The story is small, down to earth. Nothing overly huge is going on, in fact next to a lot of thrillers about abstract serial killers and mad evil geniuses this seems a tiny movie in comparison. However its this down to earth realism and believability factor that makes this a triumph. The storyline doesn't have that many twists to it, well is the last bit classed as a twist, not sure, anyway the movie doesn't have that twisty feel to it. Where it gains its impact is in the fact it jumps through time, some of the movie is made up of flashbacks, making us see what the pair did and how their relationship progresses. But even more of the movie takes place in the car, which is also a skill you perfected, you kept a lot of the movie in one set, with two people talking, yet I was gripped. The dialogue used between the pair is very well written and once again believable. Rudy especially has some great one liners, making him a more three dimensional character. The beggining is also a smart way to start, no explanation as to what's going on, we just know something bad is happening, it works, it intrigues the audience, and then you throw them straight into the storyline. No set up, just straight into it, and that's the way a thriller should be made. All set up no delivery is just tiresome, your movie wa spretty much all delivery, the scenes in the car weren't set up, they contributed to the rest of the storyline.

The characters and voice actors also deserve as much equal praise as you do. My biggest praise must go to Blaze Dragon as Rudy. Its very rare we get a brilliant villain on TMO, its even rarer you get a villain you can't wait to see back on screen the very second he's on screen. But the voice actor and you as the scriptwriter managed to make a villain very much worthy of this movie. Blaze Dragon's performance is simply amazing. He's a genuine [play nice now!], there's no other word for it, but there's something about that is likeable. There's nothing for me to like about him, yet there's something that made me understand why Terry flet empowered by him yet sort of attracted to him (not in that way) in the same way. Its a brilliant performance and if any awards are ever given out on this website he deserves one for best actor. In comparison of course MurpheyKid seems to flounder at times. He delivers a great performance and holds his own against him, yet in scenes where Rudy talks Terry down its believable because Blaze Dragon really does seem to be talking MurpheyKid down. The rest of the performances are fine, but of course its a two man show and those two performances are what make the movie.

Now I have to talk about your direction and film making skills. Now your usage of free cam is commendable, its not flashy but it works beautifully with the storyline. There is certainly a large usage of it during the film which became very apparent in the final scenes. In fact the free cam in those final scenes did wonders to increase the tension and sense of claustrophobia it developed. Your music choices also benefited the movie greatly, once again not too flashy but it managed to increase the tension and complimented the scenes and tone of the movie to absolute perfection. The editing itself also was very well done, the pacing was right on the mark making this movie never feel too long or too short, and it was never, ever boring. A rare feat for a TMO movie since even the best have their dull moments. This went along at a cracking pace and had me in awe throughout.

Overall this is a five star masterpiece and is definately a movie I would actualy watch again Online. Pure brilliance from beggining to end, you're a true talent to this movie website and I hope to see many more movies from you in the future.

Wow, one of the great films of TMO. Period.

Where can I start the VO's where top class, with Murpheykid and Blaze Dragon giving in strong performances as well as yourself.

The plot was unseen on TMO, and flashbacks was brilliantly directed, man that Rudy is a real D!ck, and at times thought, Wow all this for a Rush? , the ending was classic. Not giving it away , but what a cliffhanger.

The Dialog was excellent, as I said before, everyone gave strong performances my only complaint is that it was a bit loud at times, forcing me in turn down the volume a tad.

The editing was tight as hell...good free cam use and good set dressing, it flowed well from scene to scene, nothing seemed out of place. The lack of music actually adds to the tension and drama, if anything it just adds to the VA's ability.

Overall it was a fantastic movie, which I recommend to anyone new and old to TMO.
Well Done.

An all around amazing film! The plot was captivating, and I really enjoyed watching this movie. The characters are perfectly crafted!

The ambiguous ending was perfect, because you want to leave the audience guessing. My guess is that Terry shot himself. That seems to fit his character.

You know what caught my mind though, it would have totally thrown this whole film a different direction if we found out that Rudy was just part of Terry's imagination.

The script was freaking great.

Excellent movie. The characters are brilliantly portrayed and the plot unfolds quickly without being rushed. The balance between flashbacks and current events is just right and gives the film a great sense of depth. Music and voice acting were superb and the editing was seamless. How puffy was it? Jesus Christ! Dude that was one the best flicks I've seen on TMO. You made Rudy quite possibly the biggest d!ck ever on TMO.

Plot: 10/10 - As the plot unfolds boldly into where nothing else has gone, I kept wondering. 'What the hells gonna happen?' It kept going into crazy flashbacks just to make me wanna punch Rudy in the face even more. And the end...holy jeebus was that great! And the last scene blew me away! No pun intended. hehe.

Dialog: 8/10 - Although the acting was awesome, it about blew my ears away at times. And the other voices seemed too quite compared to the other VO actors. But I have to honestly say, this is some of the best acting on TMO.

Editing: 10/10 - I was trying to think of what all technically bugged me...and I couldnt think of ONE thing. The free-cam made for all kinds of cool camera angles, to keep this movie from being repetive...which takes alot of talent, becuase most of this movie was talking. It flowed together well. Adn I must say, the beginning credits were really awesome.

Sound: 9/10 - The music seemed perfect. And it seemed to fit in with all of the places that needed music. There were a couple scenes though where it could of used background music. Maybe like the fire scene?

Enjoyment: 10/10 - THAT my friend was awesome. Loved every second of it...well, actually I was pissed off at movie for the last half, but hey, its not my fault you made a d!ck-head character. And the ending was amazing. As soon as he held the gun I was like 'Well, duh, he's gonna shoot Rudy.' But then it just ended, and I was like 'WHOE!'. Becuase that was totally awesome.

Puff Factor: 47/50 = 4.7/5.0 - Dude, nice. Definatly has an awesome shot at winning an award at the Snuffin Puffin show...

Very nice and slick show. Creative angles and direction kept the intencity up for the whole film. Tight and uncomprimising leaving us to imagine the ending for ourselves.

Downer story but tremendous effort. This is by far the best produced movie I've seen. Some killer free cam work. Great VO work. Extremely good mood setting. This is brilliant work that the rest of the site strides for.

A FREDTHEDUCK REVIEW

Plot: 20/20 - That was a brilliant plot, very wll thought out...and the twist ending...who was shot? I thought it might be rudy...but it could have been any of them. It kept my attention VERY well, incredible! Ever so slightly disapointed in the ending but I will be thinking about it for days, and i am sure that was your intention.

Originality: 5/5 - again, I had never seen this before, It was absolutely awesome! A very new plot to me.

Predictability: 14/15 - it was hard to predict, and the most unpredictable thing that happened ws the ending...it was too good, and i can't stop thinking about it, trying to work out who died.

VOs: 14/15 - BlazeDragon and MurpheyKid did an excellent job, and you did some good extra parts too. I do feel that at points the quality of the VOs wasntat its best...but that isnt your fault, it happens. In fact, those VOswere done so well, that i am sure that I will be contacting some of the cast in the future, proably all of you. :D

Custom content: 9/10 - what really got my attention here was the opening sequence of overlays. I'm not sure how many other mods were used, but this definitely stuck in my head.

Editing: 15/15 - Perfect editing. Excellent camera use, no scene was on too long, no sound effects or music were out of place. Purely Awesome.

Music/sfx: 8/10 - I don't actually remember any of the music used... but there were moments where I feel there could have been music. The end sequence I feel would have worked extremely well with a heartbeat in the background, slowly getting faster as the PRESSURE (:p) builds up...

The wow factor: 10/10 - It is movies like this that i started my review thread for. Simply awesome.

TOTAL: 95% - 5 star!

I admit going into this film I was in no way expecting the level of quality that I found in viewing this movie. The screen play, the acting, and the professional approach to this project was outstanding. If "Hidden Gems" are to be found this film and all involved are a fist full. An EXCELLENT MUST SEE film!!!

Holy crap! That was as good a thriller as I've watched on TMO. The acting was top notch, the direction was flawless and the music fitted perfectly. An unbelievably tense ending, I found myself shouting out loud at one point, lways means I'm involved.
Loved the way you kept it open ended, a clever way to end a wonderful film.

Well-directed and well-acted, this is a character driven movie that kept my interest throughout.

The only thing that was a bit strange to me is that I didn't feel the ambiguity. It seemed clear what would happen even earlier from Terry's reaction to a much less egregious act done to the homeless guy. Only one ending would have really surprised me and, if it did happen I would feel more explanation would be required. I think that took away a bit from the desired ambiguity.

Anyway, while I may not have been fully convinced of the main crux of the story, this is still very much deserving of the praise it has received!

The opening was nice and intriguing. The way you build suspense and ??pressure?? in the scenes through cinematography and editing was excellent.

But would it be really so hard for the protagonist to refuse to comply with such an egregious demand? I hoped a more convincing reason were more explicitly presented in the movie. (More than his loyalty to his friend and the fact that he had his feet already in the muddled water.) Perhaps I just did not get it, or maybe you could be more explicit, or both?

Right from the wonderful opening credit??s the mood was set for this amazing film. (I loved the welcome to hell door mat btw)
The intelligent dialogue was extremely well written and well voiced.
The way in which you??ve presented the story, as a series of flash backs, leading to the superb ending, worked perfectly.
As technically competent as it is well written, this is an engaging and slightly disturbing film which I enjoyed immensely.
Outstanding work!

WOW. All substance and no nonsense. A well thought out and written story. Simple and powerful. Nicely done QTigger, a thinking piece that delivers a story without any gimmicks.

The VO's sounded uneven in sound quality, I think the heavy had eyeliner, not sure if that was by design, but it bothered me some and the in game F/X were distracting, as the car seemed to always be ramping up speed, and never at a constant, but nothing that would detract from the core of this film.

Its all story and character. I have said it before and I'll say it again, you are a very talented filmmaker and writer, and this is a 360 degree turn from your last big film, which I was also a fan of.

This reminds me of the film "Compulsion" with Orson Wells and Dean Stockwell, a theme along the same lines. I liked that one, I like this one. You have a feel for the old way of storytelling in film, and I always look forward to seeing what you do next. Cheers QT.

A well earned 5 stars.

Yikes! I really enjoyed this film. Wow, it reminded of why I love TMO so much.

Original script, orginal music, top notch voice acting from both leads and I just loved the captive's voice too! Nicely done all.

The camera work, editing, again most impressive.

The music especially stood out, the bells, the drones with dark brass harmonies weaving, all of it of the highest quality.

I felt the pressure and I liked it,

This is my very first time to give a movie review. But I thought it was a cool movie. I think you did a really good job on Rudy's character and voices especially when he says after the craziest crimes that it was such a rush. I assumed that Terry kiled himself at the end just because he was so weak under stressful situations, but it was suspenceful because it could have been any one of them.

this is quite an excellent work you made here : all depends on the psychology of the 2 main characters, and it works perfectly! The well written dialogues, the high quality of the voice acting drag us in your story and it becomes impossible to escape until the end. I particularly appreciate the way you use the actor's expressions : we are used to say that the movie's actors doesn't express anything : your movie proves that it's wrong!Maybe a kind of ambiguity would have been welcome : We feel close to terry immediately, wondering why he follows his "friend" Rudy... Weakness doesn't explain the whole thing... Well, that was what I with thinking during the movie, until your wonderfull end : There is ambiguity indeed in the whole story..I made my own conclusion of this story, wondering if it's yours...This is a great choice you made to conclude your work.
So thanks for this moment, sorry for my wierd english...and see you.

Large parts of the film consist mostly of conversation but as some might consider this a minus it is the perfection of the movie??s voice acting that makes it outstanding.
We get insight into the emotional depths (and abysses) of the characters and their actions and thoughts are fully comprehensible.
The ending, in a way, is predictable but I really like the way it is filmed, because there is still some space for interpretation.
Good job!

Qtigger has yet to disappoint. This was a fine dramatic study of characters, and on a broader scale, the battle of good v. evil existing in all humanity. I thought the car drive recap of their history was a very effective way of developing those characters. I did think some of Terry's dialogue was a bit unrealistic (such as saying "But it's wrong"). It seems Terry has been along for Rudy's ride for many years already and would not question him so blatantly at this point in their relationship; it would've been asked long ago, or not at all--and if he has any doubts, it'll be kept to himself and only hinted at in his conversations with Rudy. It's due to this dialogue that I expected the ending to come (that and Rudy's betrayal at the arson incident). Yet, although expected, I did find the ending's use of sound only and not actually showing the action to be a masterful touch. Overall this was a finely-executed film with great voice performances by the two leads (the victim's voice at the end was a bit harder to hear), and the minutes flew by briskly due to the fine editing and script pacing. Nicely done again, Qtigger.

Very well done. All the other comments about the depth of the script and it's character are all very accurate, they are easy to get behind and very believable.

Excellent work yet again from the simply skillful qtigger. The film's message was straight forward and very effective. You achieved a sort of engrossing quality about it that draws the viewer in, that is so important in the thriller genre. The characters were well acted and well developed. 5 stars all the way, I can't wait for your next release. The silent master.
