Of all the your creations, Cold is by far the most mature. The movie just feels like water, pure and with no real flaws. You told the story with a working flow, and by the end I was just stunned by the quality of this piece of art. Cold stands as one of my favourite films on TMO, with its message an incredible ability to make the viewers emotional involved with the characters. Excellent, excellent work on this Dulci.

Of all your movies, which have all touched my heart in one way or another, this is the one that touched me most. The way you show human nature here is absolutely masterful.. most of us are sometimes too fast with our judgement of a person, most of us rather go with a preconcived notion instead of trying to get to know someone better before making assumptions..(I´ll include myself here!)

I don´t want to give anything away, but the way you showed Virginia´s conflict was awesome! And I don´t need to say here that all the voiceactors filled their roles perfectly, making it real, making my heart go out to her so much!

I also loved the new intro and the title overlays, the editing and scene selection were perfect: every little gesture fitted just naturally... this movie has been downloaded and will be added to my collection of all time favourites.

I enjoyed this. It was a simple story with a big underlying meaning. Perception is an interesting focus of this film Dulci, and while most people stumble around on assumptions, you took a new perspective on this kind of story, you didnt resolve anything in the end to make it typical, you just sliced a small part of the characters life and choose to show that. Nice concept and execution. Not over the top, but subtle and well performed. Not melodramatic chit chat, but conversation that felt rather natural and I would venture to guess more than one person who sees this would be hard pressed not to relate to it from either side.

You didnt force anything, and thats part of why I liked this. It just "was" whats it "is". While alot of people go for over the top, you stayed comfortably in the less is more style, and for this, its what will make it stand out. Its not a "hey look at this deep and super overbearing story" kind of film, it perfectly set in the "This is just a moment in what is a bigger story" kind of film.

Over all i think the VO's were perfect, the look and feel of the film was smooth and clean, with all shots propelling the story in one way, leaving nothing as just filler. I liked it, with the subtle use of mods, a nice but clever twist and a very strong example of less is more. I think this project was well done top to bottom. Nice work.

First I must apologize for not watching this sooner.

A chilling cinematic experience...Cold takes a great look into the world of perception. All to often do we judge somebody based on what little we know about a person. It's unfortunate that individuals make assumptions and generalize in such a way. What may seem like an unfriendly person is actually someone wanting love and attention, but is too scared or embarrassed to share their feelings.

Another sure-fire winner from one of my favorite filmmakers on TMO. Amazing voice work from the cast, moving music, and superb direction all culminate to make a very heart-felt and moving film that causes one to think about how they look at individuals...and even themselves.

I cry as I write this.

Dulci that really cut deep, it was as if you had been into a part of my mind that I have never shared with anyone. I then realise that you must have been there too.

I am just stunned by this movie. I feel that you have exposed a part of your inner self, and I admire you for that.

This film would never have commercial success, and a lot of people just wouldn't get it. But this film has toughed my emotions in a way that no film outside of TMO ever has.

For the length of this film I felt an emotional connection with you in a way that scared me. By exposing yourself, it felt like you were looking directly into my own mind.

Film is about expressing ourselves and making a connection with the audience. You certainly made the connection here today.

An absolute movie masterpiece. It just slides together as if each scene were joined, well done. Also the voices match perfectly and you seem to know how to control your pitch, well done, you should all be congradulating yourselves. Hopefully one day your movies will make it to the blockbuster cinemas.

If you have nothing to do, can you please watch my only movie and rank it, I want to see how a pro feels about my movie :)

Well, the movie did have its own type of atmosphere and/or visual style, but it was nothing special. Some of the camera movements were very awkward. The story was way too simplistic and provided for extremely poor pacing. Multiple personaltity disorder is perhaps the most cliched plot device there is, and you also made very poor use of it.

Bravo.
Just bravo.
And... sorts.
This movie was deep. Deeper than the deepest ocean. It's deep because you show that people can be shallow. Very shallow. Shallower than the shallowest baby pool. The tale of a young woman's struggle to be noticed, to be realized for who she truly is. But she's too shy to open up, and now everyone think she's cold. The world is a cruel place, isn't it?

Anyway, Dulci... okay, not sure how to ask this; I need a voiceover for a female extra in my movie and, well, I can't do a female voiceover. And even if I did, I'd be very ashamed, because... well, I am male. So... I think you see where this is going. So, can you do it for me? It's really one line, and the more people you get in your movie, the better, right? Anyway, I'd understand if you can't, but get back to me if you can do it. E-mail me at jsang2@nyc.rr.com if you can do it. The line is: "There we go, spick and span..."
Have a very nice day!
Golden Fist of Judgement.

A typical Dulci romance classic, with a great staff of voice actors and actresses. The music was so beautifully selected, and as usual your directing is dead on. Very well done!
Also, I liked the scrolling credits, although I could hardly read them. :)

It was a good reflection about a feeling that I know well, the lack of self-confidence and how it is difficult and to open up to other people... In any case, it's my own interpretation of your movie... I liked it but the only thing that troubled me, it was the lack of sound effects which gave a lifeless side to your movie.

That shocked me a lot Dulci. All your movies are such inspration, and this one is so...so well put together I have to give this a five. Firstly, everyone's voices was so clear and consistent, no need for subtitles. Secondly you have used really good sets, rather than the old simple bar. A thirdly, the different types of titles you've used are just amazing. I still don't know how to do that.
Well done, five star, and good filming.
And thank you so much what emotion came to me.
Rock on....
Film on....
And to Dulci forever.....

I've been trying to figure out what to say about this wonderful movie for several days now and whatever I write will probably seem like I'm rambling so please forgive me.

I know exactly what Virginia is going through, read the book, wore the T-shirt, etc. Being shy, quiet and lacking in self confidence, you can come across in ways which others may interpret as cold or aloof.

Virginia needs to be in environments she feels comfortable in. This is why she turns down the invite to the casino, a place she would never dream of entering.

Of course, she wants to be able to open up to her colleagues, enjoy their company more, but her shyness, her lack of self confidence is holding her back. Or to put it another way she wants to but the voice inside her head is holding her back, convincing her otherwise.

The end was quite moving. I know exactly was going through her mind.

Anyway, like I said before, this is a wonderful movie and not just because I can relate to it. I loved the choice of music, nothing out of place here. The excellent voice cast bring to life a well-written script. The direction impressive as usual.

Thoroughly great from beginning to end.

(Sorry if I've babbled)

TMO ushered in a new wave of philisophical explorations like "Cold," which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But after time, the messages and characters have begun to lose their impact and power among so many other similar productions (which all seem to take place in a bar, mind you). It takes a uniquely special film to reach into the viewer's soul and find a spot that hasn't been tainted.

"Cold" is that film. It is a masterpiece...a chef-d'oeuvre. You have managed to touch on a subject that most of us can relate to in a certain way. Everyone with a soul has felt insignificant at some point, which makes us feel all the more compassionate toward faceless Virginia--and all the more bitter toward her arrogant co-workers. While there is no explaination for the reason behind Virginia's helplessness, there doesn't need to be. We understand the feeling, and that's really all that matters.

A fascinating film. Your incredibly crafted script leaps off the page thanks to your voice actors. A nice art piece that deserves the accolades it's receiving. Fantastic work Dulci.

The Good:
I thought that the dialogue was very well written and acted, with everyone putting in a solid performance. The way that you portrayed the inner conflict in the main character, especially the visual aspect, was nicely concieved. I liked the repetition towards the end where she keeps repeating the same line like a mantra, perhaps to justify her actions to herself. The directing and shot selection were done as well as expected from a Dulci picture and the music fit the mood of the film perfectly.

The Bad:
The transition from the outside world to the main characters inner conflict was a little off and it took me a bit to figure out what was going on here. I think it was because the antagonistic voice sounded so demonic and overpowering that I mistook it for possession at first. Also I think it would have helped to have some of the other voices chime in so that we get a better feel for the conflict.

Overall a good exploration piece with some really nice dialogue and visuals.

This might sound weird but after reading lots of reviews I didn't feel all that much whilst watching this. I wanted to identify with your female lead but there was something I can't quite put my finger on that left me feeling very little. Trying to piece together the pieces of the jigsaw I liked some of the freecam work and the music was sombre which added a nice mood.
I think the more I reflect the more I think it was the ending that didn't quite seem complete.
Perhaps even the movie seemed slightly over acted when a more naturalastic style would have appealed more to me. In a way it gave me a similar feeling I get when I've watched a Hollywood remake of a low budget cult classic and the gritty raw edge is possibly over polished. It is still a good movie though.

......... o k..............

I really liked the atmosphere here!
I liked the ordinary atmosphere of the people and staff doing their jobs and
having interesting conversations.

The music was really well chosen and it was the touching?
Didnt find this actually emotions sad or touching?

ok was it a cold night?
I liked the overlay of the snow it was excellent!
The voices something I Should of mentioned sooner? were fabulous and one of the clearest and most famous voices on the TMO.

There is one star gone for the stroy line..
Really really ? puzzleing??????

But excellently made movie dulci!!!! Thats why i decided to give 5!
well done

Another deep meaningful film. It shows how people can be so quick to judge you and think that they know a person without knowing who you really are. They think you are cold but you are just really acting like that becuase you would rather cover up your true person then be hurt. The reason I enjoy watching your movies is because I usually get a real meaning and feeling out of them unlike a lot of other movies.

All the composite parts were there, all the stuff we've come to associate with Dulci's movies but it lacked a little something. The Lounge Singer had a brilliant bite to it, a twist I didn't expect. Unfortuantely with Cold it didn't quite grab me in the same way and I felt a little disappointed because of it.

So only 4 I'm afraid :|

Wonderful movie you've created there Dulci.

I did feel that the characters could have been slightly more developed but they were developed enough for the film to work. I didn't really feel that Virginia was that cold to be honest she didn't seem as stand offish as she could have done she just seemed like she had other things going on.

The internal conflict scene was absolutely fantastic! The music really added to the movie as well.

A fantastic little snippet of people's lives and how they react and/or are quick to judge others they think they know.
Amongst all the things you did right in this movie,I thought the VO was the highlight.Great dialogue is only as good as those who deliver it...
Unfortunately I've not seen all your movies, but of the many I have seen,I must say this was my favorite.

Firstly, the opening credits were beautifully done, right from the start I knew this would be a polished production.

Nobody knows what goes on inside somebody else's head. People are so quick to judge and few appreciate the immense struggle with inner conflicts some of us go through. While I could not relate to Virginia on every level (the voice I hear telling me these things is my own) I found this movie to be very powerful and thought-provoking. It left me feeling first angry, then sad.
I liked the fact that this was no story with a beginning and end, but a short glimpse into someone's painful life. The open end leaves more room for people to think about what they have just seen.
Excellent vo's and the overlays and choice of music were very good. That last sentence seems like it was added as an afterthought, but all three things were overshadowed for me by the message in this movie.

Creepy.

The production was top notch, as always; good use of camera and choice of music. I thought the internal conflict scene was a bit didactic, a bit predictable. The conclusion was powerful, but a bit simple for my taste. Also, we may get a little understanding of what state the heroine is in, but not why or how it came to be, or what alternative there was. So as plot goes, this somewhat detracted from the movie for me. I don't know, maybe I over-appreciate resolution, and in this case there was none.
Other than this pet peeve, great work. Emotional, lively scenes with good voice acting and a well played out concept. Keep it up.

This is a very well done film.
Choice of music was very well done. The editing and use of backdrops and mods were excellent.
The Voice actors should all be commended for such great work. You have assembled a brilliant cast.
The story overall was solid. The one problem I did have with it was much like rockstar, I couldn't really identify or simpathize with Virginia. I just didn't get to know her enough for me to really care what happened to her. The revelation gave me some insight, but not enough to strengthen the bond between myself and the character. In this style of film that bond is very much needed.
Overall I thought this was a good film. Your hard work is evident in it and again the cast was excellent. You have a very unique style and that's why I've always come to admire about your films.

A decent film. The VO's were excellent, probably some of the clearest/best I've ever heard on TMO. That was definately a plus in the technical department of the movie.

On the other hand, while the message is good, I just didn't find it to be as touching as it could be. I don't feel like I can relate to the character (which fits the movie well due to the circumstances) but the drawback is that I also do not feel sympathy for her. With this in mind, the movie to be seemed a bit... empty.

Overall, an excellent film. Glad to have you apart of TMO, Dulci. Your movies continue to amaze us all.

Is it human nature or is it something more. A woman striving to be heard within a smothering world of selfishness and misunderstanding. If only the people around her would get to know the real her, then they would understand. But no, they sit on their high throwns and judge.

This is very real and true to the world around us. We fear what we do not understand. And we torture what we fear. Wonderful voice acting and great editing does wonders for this film. Probably my favorite Dulci short film to date.

The character's thoughts and doubts lead the audience to believe maybe it is more than just her doubting herself. Maybe it is much more complex. Maybe schizophrenia? But will she continue to head the voice in her head, or will she make her own decisions? I guess we'll never know.

Your personal style, inspiration and way of filming keeps improving and touch our feelings... It is clear now that your movies are easy to recognize beetwen all that we can see here...and should not be missed. I appreciated with this new work the way you keep digging and searching what's behind everyday's relations we can have, appearances and masks we carry, secret thoughts we have to hide...well, there's alaways a moment with you when we can see, even for a short while, what's hidden behind. For a short while...because with you, it always ends quickly, leaving us wondering..and concluding the story by ourselves.
Gratz for this " exercice de style"(don't know if it means something in english, sorry- as my whole comment I'm afraid)...and see you.

WOw Dulci. Excellent work. I've been anticipating this for a while and I know it would be worth the wait. It was worth the wait and more. I loved this. The story was very good, i loved the way the film flowed so beautifully with the pacing. The messages this film tells it's viewer are rather intruguing! I loved the way you really make such top quality movies Dulci. The sweet opening was nice, the music was well chosen. The overlays were very cool and a lovely addition to the movie's look on screen.
Also, I loved the all star cast, Chuck, Rileyman, you of course and more they are all very talented voice-actors. They brought this alive and made it seem very believable. I loved this. Your camera-work is always exceptional.
Overall, i loved this movie. Your films always are excellent.

I didnt want this movie to end yet. The scene with the voice in the dark was brilliant. The awsome VO helped. The snow falling in this scene really was a nice touch. And the girl appearing and disappearing makes you feel like she is struggling to be herself. Or being herself is a struggle.
Another great short film from the master!

Perceptions and Misinterpretations are two key features of this dazzling film which draws you in with solid characterisations and variations. You managed to display reasons of why people could perceive an individual but yet at the same time you also explored that cold, shattering experience which no one could unfortunately tell, it was an amazing piece of cinematography. The end sequence with the narrative was executed well and you revealed all with precision!
This film flew by effortlessly and my only disappointment was it finished so quickly!
Keep up the fabulous nuketastic work!

Brilliant movie Dulci! Your romance movies are always the top I can find: the introduction was very well done and the VO was great. I really liked your talent voice. Music and mods were excellent! Surely it'll be at the top charts. Very well! Sincerely, Eagle_93.

I'd be really happy to receive your opinion in my latest romance movie MEMORIES. Thank you very much.

I loved it Dulci. Please rate "African Journey" Thanks. I know this will be in the top 25. You should be a real director.

Great movie. The Vo cast was fantastic. It's amaing how someone can be perceived one way while there are actually other things going on that the outside world might not see or realize. Great Job
