It's a hotpick so it must be good right?:

Story/Plot: I thought the story was told simply but also really excellently. As far as short movies go this one had a very good story, a bit more backstory and character development may of helped but overall this was a very well written film.-9/10

Dialogue: For the most part the dialogue was OK but some of it felt a bit out of places in what was pretty serious film, the line "She is so horny!" springs to mind. The odd line like that let it down a little bit.-7/10

Editing/Effects: The editing was perfect. Great use of freecam, loved the opening credits and the cutting of the scenes was superb. The effects sucha s the half human half skeleton fcae was excellent.-10/10

Music: The music was amazing, fitted perfectly. Great music, incredible that someone made that themselves because it was great.-10/10

Genre Fit & WOW Factor: The atmosphere made this a pretty scary film I have to say. I loved the effects, good wow factor there.-9/10

Overall: A desrved hot pick but I think some minor improvements would of gone a long way to ensure this as being one of the very tip top films on TMO.

Pretentious. Simply Way too pretentious. I'll explain:
What you've tried to do is to create a story of good and bad in the mind of a suicidal men, and how he succambs to evil and (***SPOILERS!!!***) commits suicide. There's a symoblic view of good, as played by that fairy-kind lady and a symbolic view of bad, such as the cruelty of the men. However, this much darker side of "It's A Wonderful Life" fails to capture the real, horrific side of suicide. It's too dark, too arty, and much too horrific to be counted as a "Masterpiece". However, I liked your use of the suicide Allegory - Good and bad rule the man untill the ultimate fate. But this film, as i said, Is much too dark (even if it was you intention, and I respect that), and the use of the good side (the fairy) takes a small part in the movie, and then ultimately disappears. Good & Bad In allegories must share an equal part in the movie so that the viewer will achieve the perfect enjoyment out of the films. Now, here comes the second, and even bigger, Flaw: Why does our suicidal hero has the chance to look into the future? HOW can he look into the future? HOW can the dark side of his nature causes him to look into the future? No reason, Simply NO REASON AT ALL! It creates a plot hole, and nothing is more of a damage to a movie's plot than plot holes. Now, I'll tell you about the third flaw: Some Horror films are scary, and some are just so disgusting to watch so that you feel LIKE you're watching a Horror movie. Your movie is the second part. Disgusting, containing a lot of mature content, graphic dsecription of crimes (ABUSE?!) and horrific view of human activities. Oh, I forgot, That creepy, fowl-smelling picutre that you chose to put as your thumbnail! children are playing this game, MAN! THEY WILL WATCH IT!
Well, than what's good? Scene selection, VOs, cinematography and... well, that's it.

2 out of five. Bad.

Can you make Horror film which is scary, and not disgusting? If you will, I'll be pleased to watch it.

Classical history about an angel and a demon. But in a format " The Movies " it looks is fresh. Actors good fellows, well play! But in sub-titles sometimes there are mistakes. It spoils impression. Music is good! Editing and camerawork - is higher than any praises!
Though film also is very short (against last films DavidHayter - is insignificant a little), but he is very much sated. Film it is interesting to look even after many viewings. And... Interestingly, film it is entirely shot in " The Movies ";-)?

Firstly, the storyline of the film was brilliant, definately top notch. However the pacing of it was wrong and seemed out of joint at some points. The subtitles needed some work here and there, but not enough to bring the film down. The dialogue however seemed at odds to the grim and emotional storyline, perhaps a bit more time working on the dialogue would definately have lifted this film.

What brought this film down a peg or two was the over use of MODS, now I know people need to use mods these days to keep up with the best of them but a true film director can produce and shoot a great film using only what they have at their disposal.

Nevertheless, overall, I feel it is a competent movie while not entirely memorable is still worthy of watching and deserves to be a Hot Pick.

The subtitles were done well, other than some mispellings of English. The music was excellent, and the effects were excellent. I assume thae native german was correct, as far as I could tell. However, I didn't see the drama here. It was more of an extended scene for me. As written, the protagonist was not given a real, considered choice. In the end, a tragedy, a battle of good vs. evil, and that is well and good, but I didn't see the point of decision, which would have made it less of a linear story. overall, worth a look, for some sights of what can be done with the medium.

I have no idea what to say except for the fact that I got chills about half way through! The story line and the plot seemed thought out very long and hard and it pays off in the end!! This is a great movie although I wouldn't recommend it to childeren who go on this site due to some bad language and the whole idea of it, but I would 100% recommend this to teens who are looking for a short horror film to watch! GREAT JOB!

Very well written, and extremely intense. Seeing the main character being torn between right and wrong, but ultimately giving into death. I guess he must have had a really bad day... or bad life, either way, it's all over now. Good film, great way of getting the viewers attention fast and keeping them stuck to the film. Good Work!

I Thought it was an interesting film, very good visual and sound effects. I also thought the music was good too. Also like Pearsonhouse it was your posted screenshots that attracted me to watching your movie. But I did have one complaint, which I happened to agree with Colingaiser on. (Spoiler Alert!!!) Which was the angel�??s lack of physical presence at the most critical part of the argument. I mean this demon shows the man so many bad & evil things to convince him and all the angel does to counter this is verbally object. Overall: you get a Very Good Job!

The visuals were extravagantly brilliant, but the emotional punch just wasn't there. We didn't see enough from the angel, who didn't even appear in the conclusion, and without the two opposing forces the impact is far less then you probably hoped. But, I commend you for this fine effort.

POSITIVE : That was one frightening film which just shows us how persuasive people can be. I'm suprised that the film hasn't been banned (which it shouldn't be)! It used some pretty harsh language and images, which I must say were very impressive. This will be a classic horror movie!!!

NEGATIVE : Not really many bad things about it, but the film was a bit short, I can't really complain about this as my films are as short as this, and I didn't get the end. I don't want to spoil the movie for those who read before watching, but who was killed in the end?

Very well directed, micha! I'm very sorry that I didn't get to watch this sooner. The battle of the conscience is a horrible one of blame and forgiveness and 'Suicide' has walked that line expertly. Great film!

The dilemma and what if and what if not scenario's play out in a vivid tale of a man who has reached the brink. I like how you used the female character to talk about why not and the the male character the whys. Then we are bombarded with sounds that play out this dilemma and the confusion is heightened. The music sort of had a Goblinesque feel (from the vintage Argento days). A good pscyhological horror movie.

A thought-provoking piece which was lovingly crafted. Great visuals with superb audio work. The tale of the future was wonderfully presented by the dark forces and light intertwining. I have to confess that I did not understand the ending though--it seems our protagonist shot the dark one his visions, and ended up shooting himself in reality?

The story was so gripping, we couldn�??t move our eyes of the screen. The acting was so lifelike and emotionally draining, we sat here staring with mouths dropped. The cinematography can only be described in one word�?� intense. Use of mods, overlays and backdrops this film is second to none in the horror genre! For the first time, we are all sitting here trying to give praise, but no words can accurately describe what we are feeling. A superb film with a strange ending I didn't understand. You really felt for the main character who was really put through the ringer. Tremendous voice acting when you consider that both male characters were played by the same person flawlessly. The angel character was also very well voiced.

There were loads of surprises in this film (not least in the visual effects) and not once did I think I was watching a "The Movies" film.

Hats off to Nathan who did the music as well - the sound design was also very good too.

Translation was just about adequate for English speakers with no knowledge of German though some words and sentences I didn't get from the subtitles (the spelling was inconsistent at times); and others required a little bit of on-the-spot rearrangement in my head for me to understand what was meant.

Overall - a gripping film with excellent performances.

In my opinion, this is the greatest movie I've seen yet. The emotion was captured with perfection. The use of special efx enhanced the mood of the film. The most important, it didn't carry on for hours. I think people put way too much into movies and in the end it feels like the movies is dragging on, but "Suicide" didn't have that feel whatsoever. To top everything off the music and the voice acting is outstanding.

This is clearly an amazing job you made here micha..I'm not talking about technique and how you managed to use outside video program here (sorry for my bad english) Your story telling and filming is really impressive, the way the camera stucks to your main character and never leave him breath..the voice acting, very well done, adds a lot and even if the conclusion may seem a bit rude or quickly done, you just said what had to be sid, you made us follow this path and suffer, and think, and remember...I'm glad to see that kind of number one!

Wow Micha...wirklich genial...cooler Movie. Da bekommt man ja fast gänsehaut. Also am besten nichts nachts anschauen. ;) Nein im ernst wirklich sehr gut. Alleine die Idee ist/war schon sehr gut und genial umgesetzt. Die Vo´s waren klasse.

Also technisch hast du wahrlich grossartiges wieder geleistet die Overlays haben mir teilweise die Sprache verschlagen...
doch hier liegt für mich der grosse Schwachpunkt ich finde das der Film teilweise zu überladen ist,man verliert den Blick um den eigentlichen Konflikt zwischen Teufel und Engel bzw. Gut und Böse

Schöner, kurzer Film :)
Editingtechnisch hast du wie immer deinen wunderbar eigenen Stil an dem es einfach nichts zu mäkeln gibt. Das passt einfach. Das ganze bunte glitzer-glitzer passt auch hier ganz gut, du wirst immer besser darin es in die Filme einzu arbeiten, ein Bruch mit der Spielengine fällt kaum auf. Trotzdem hatte ich gegen Schluss das Gefühl das Weniger Mehr gewesen wäre.
Die VO war grö�?tenteils wieder hervorragend, auch wenn man die "böse" Stimme manchmal fast nicht verstanden hat. Als "Mann am Abgrund" machst du dich erschreckend gut ;)
Das Thema des Films ist interessant, habe es in Filmen von mir auch schon angeschnitten. Allerdings machst du es dir imo zu einfach und dafür zieh ich dir auch einen Stern ab. Das "Gutes Engelchen und böses Teufelchen streiten sich um deine Seele"-Prinzip wirkt auf mich ziemlich unglaubwürdig und vereinfachend. Da hätte man, glaub ich, anders noch deutlich mehr tiefe reinbringen können(ZB. mit mehr, aus dem off kommentierten Flashbacks). Au�?erdem wirken durch die klare Positionierung die Charaktere ziemlich beliebig. Das hinterlässt bei mir einen schalen Geschmack, weshalb ich dir für Suicide einen Stern abziehe.

Achja...So wie die beiden auf den Armen einreden, hätte der Film auch "Listen!" hei�?en können ;)

guter Film.
Wie Nemek es schon in seinem Review gut gesagt hat, zeigt der Film sehr überzeugend die Zerissenheit eines selbstmordgefährdeten Mannes. Das er sich auch gedanken über die Zukunft seiner Tochter macht, finde ich ganz und gar nicht unrealistisch. Die VO´s sind wirklich sehr überzeugend und die Technik ist wirklich perfekt. ICh fand die Handlung allerdings ein ganz klein wenig überdramatisiert. Ausserdem hat mich das Ende nicht so ganz überzeugt.
5 Sterne ist der Film allerdings trotzdem alle mal wert, weil er sich intensiv mit einem Thema beschäftigt, dass auf tmo und auch überhaupt ziemlich selten angesprochen wird, die VO´s und die Technik wirklich absolut perfekt sind und das ganze eigentlich wirklich ganz klug inszeniert ist.

Ein wirklich riskanter Film über ein sehr ernstes Thema.
Doch der Film zeigt recht eindringlich die Zerissenheit eines gefährdeten Mannes. Doch ist es im wirklichen Leben etwas anders. In solch einem Moment ist es egal, was mit anderen passiert, sondern man denkt nur an sich und eine erschreckende Zukunft.
Dennoch macht der Film auf mich einen guten Eindruck und die Stimmen wissen zu überzeugen. Teilweise wirkt die Stimme des Bösen etwas überzogen und die Stimme des Hauptcharakters etwas ZU weinerlich.
Auch an Effekten wurde nicht gespart. Dennoch hätte man sich den einen anderen Effekt auch sparen können. Beeindruckend sind sie aber trotzdem.
Die Kameraführung ist teilweise etwas hektisch, aber an sich vollkommen okay.

Alles in allem ein sehr schöner Film, der ganz klar mal etwas anders ist.

Powerful movie. I know the emotional battles that he goes through quite often. The struggle is quite overbearing at times. It does feel like a nightmare and a balancing act sorting things out. It was captured quite expertly. Well done.

Na wenn da nicht wer zu seinen Wurzeln zurückkehrt, also jetzt von der Story, nicht von der Regie. Fand ihn sehr gelungen, die Dialoge schön geschrieben. Die Story wurde rasant rübergebracht und brachte mein Adrenalin in Kombination mit den Specialeffekten ganz schön hoch. Guter Kurzfilm!

Der eine mag vielleicht nur von den Effekten geblendet worden sein, der andere jedoch kann sich vielleicht sogar mit dem Charakter identifizieren. Aus diesem Grund mag es umstritten sein, für was der Charakter sich am Ende entscheidet. Ich würde mich wohl für (...) entscheiden.

Technisch stimmt an diesem Kurzfilm alles.

Vielleicht benutzt du eine solche Szene ja in einem deiner nächsten gro�?en Filme... Wer wei�?, vielleicht sieht in Screw 3 jemand keinen Ausweg... ;-)

PS: Ich unterstelle dir NICHT, dass du einem potenziellen Selbstmörder "NA, MACH DOCH!" zurufen würdest. ;-)

Interessante Odyssee eines Selbstmords. Das Gute und das Böse versucht Einfluss zu nehmen. Das Schlechte obsiegt gegenüber dem Guten. Die Effekte waren durchaus gelungen.

Meine Bewertung:
Story/Idee: 6 P. - Story ist nicht herausragend, aber gut.
Sprecher/Darsteller: 8 P. - Melanie gefällt mir sehr gut. Micha überreizt seine stimmlichen Fähigkeiten sehr und verfällt ab und zu in zuviel Laszivität.
Sound/Musik: 10 P. - sehr passend
Kamera/Schnitt: 8 P. - Schnitt so gut, wie es in TM geht, Kamera teilweise nicht genug fokussiert auf den Dialogführenden
Umsetzung/Regie: 9 P. - So wie er es kann. Wirklich sehr gut. Aber nicht das Beste von Micha.
Gesamt: 8,2 Punkte = 4 Sterne

Guter Kurzfilm, aber leider zu schnell vergessen.

die charaktere sind unglaublich "real" gewesen...
die stimmen von den charakteren waren noch nie besser...
die musik war auch megageil...
die soundeffekte waren ebenfalls das beste vom besten...
die overlay-effekte muss man eigentlich nicht erwähnen, da diese sowieso geil sind...
also du erkennst meine sprachlosigkeit zu deinem werk...
viel kann ich nicht mehr sagen au�?er: hammergeil, unglaublich packend gemacht, perfekte filmlänge mit perfekten stimmen und dies ist ein meisterwerk in sachen machinimafilm...
bleibt nur mein schlusssatz: unglaublich gemacht und sehr ergreifend!!
