Sorry but unless your name is Aidon Gibbons then what else can I give? I'd seen the excellent reviews and I was so hoping that this wasn't going to be a case of 'oh no not again'!

Having recently seen "The Monk and the Fountain", I get what the filmmaker was getting at here - attempting to convey deep emotions through simple visual storytelling and music - this effort, however, still falls very, very short of its goal.

If I'm being honest, I'm VERY disappointed. For a film that contains no dialogue, no real story, and mediocre visuals, I am shocked to find this film in its current chart position and carrying such a slate of glowing reviews.

While I understand the filmmaker's intentions, good intentions are simply not enough to justify that chart position and these glowing reviews. And it drives me batty when people complain in their reviews about lack of this, lack of that, and then still five-star the film.

There isn't enough "memory" footage here to really inspire a reaction, not enough action to excite, not enough drama to quicken the pulse, not enough romance to warm the heart, just not enough of anything to really hit the viewer with powerful or undeniable emotions.

The musical piece is very nice, and there are a couple of good camera shots, but that... is... it.

It's not my intention to disparage the movie's intentions or Ralfduran as a filmmaker (he's made better films than this one before, and will after). But given some additional effort and another few minutes of inspiring scenes, I think the filmmaker could have better accomplished what he was shooting for - an emotional, moving piece of cinema, in spite of its simplicity.

This film, however, was released before its time.

Definately captivating and moving. Although it wasn't much, you still managed to touch us so deeply with this strange, harrowing tale. The piano piece was perfect, as the mood could not have been sustained without it. Beautiful!

A masterpiece! I'm stunned. You should really be proud of yourself. You've raised the bar on how to make movies with this game. The music was perfect, the editing, sound, imagery, everything. It was a moving drama that told a hug story in a small amount of time. Very good!

An excellent concept for a movie, I give you props for that, but you can't have a movie with no dialogue. It's kinda boring for the viewer.

Well, really there isn't much to grade you on so I'll make this short and sweet. 7/10! I suggest that you make a remake, and just make it longer, add some dialogue, some conflict, etc. Good Job.

Very touching and emotional. A true piece of craftmanship in every sense of the word. Amazingly perfect in every detail. The music was spot on and the camera angles fit perfect. This is a good little film with a message and I like that. Even without dialog "The Piano" tells the tale of life and reflection and for that I give it high marks. Sadly, this life seems all too uneventful and that's not to say that they weren't moving. The events taken up in reflection I felt were too few. Surly there must be more to this life? Children? Grandchildren? As I said before I really enjoyed this little movie but I guess I just wished "The Piano" told a deeper tale.

The Piano has to be one of the most heartfelt pieces on TMO. Simply an old man with his thoughts, nothing more. But somehow, it does wonders.

"The Piano" var en mycket bra film, precis som alla dina andra filmer.
Jag hade dock svårt att förstå storyn i den.
Jag tycker dock att allt från musik till bakgrunder är mycket fina, du har gjort den här filmen väldigt bra.
Kameran var oklanderlig och karaktärerna var väldesignade. "The Piano" - 4/5. Fortsätt skapa filmer, du förtjänar titeln "Movie making legend".

Short but sweet. Where was alot of touching moments. Like the one when he comes up to his comrade that thave been shoot and try to save him, but too late. And fast he turns away and run away. That scene nearly maked me cry.

of course, Tiersen's music brings a lot to your movie but you managed to create another sensitive moment... without any word spoken : really not easy..I was thinking that it should have had power to your movie if the two memories had more links with each other (sorry for my english). But that's just a little thought... wonder too what you mean with the fact the piano is a movie that exists autonomous from inspiration..quite intriguing..

Wow Ralfduran great movie. This has a great story and a fantastic message. It has great music choices as the man reflects on his life which I found to be one of the best romance movies on TMO, I'm not sure what else to say but I find the story to be touching and that is really hard to do with a TMO movie. You also had fantastic camrea shots which I really respect you as a film maker for that great job 5 out of 5.
