That movie is a excellent way of telling a good moral of not being a bigot, vs. being accepting of other people; but God hates the sin and not the sinner, is willing to forgive the believing, trusting, and repentful people.

A well observed study of the trials and tribulations of high school. Using class and social structure as a spring board, you launch us into a "Breakfast Club-esque" comedy that mocks heirarchy of the school system. One mans desire for acceptance becomes his down fall when he abandons his friends to join the cool gang at his school.
Well performed by snakeeater, who takes the Peter Sellers approach and portrays every character in the film. A difficult task, but it is made to look simple.

Great job

"Changes at School" has a very classic, very comfortable feel of a school comedy-drama that has that sweet sort of entertaining edge to it. Its fun to the end, and it combines a nice little humorous punch into each of its scenes. Not to mention that the relatively simple story is actually quite clever and very smooth. It works well, and SnakeEater42's above average direction commands the entire film with incredible strength. Not to mention that he tops the entire film off with some sugar-coated, sweet voiceovers that are actually quite exceptional, atmospheric and well-done.

However, it did have its fair share of flaws. The plot, whilst clever, needed a bit more depth...and it was resolved relatively simply and quickly. Some of the editing and Freecam needed more spice...a few scenes did lack a sort of atmospheric touch. After that, "Changes at School" is an excellent film that shows much potential.

It had a few laughs, not sure I'd call it a comedy but still a good movie with fantastic voiceovers all around. The plot was simple and the movie was short yet it told a story as it was supposed to.

What a nice little school comedy-drama movie. It kinda felt, like one of those after school specials, where there's always likely to be some sort of lesson at the ending.

Anyway, I thought the movie was great. The VO's were nice, and easy to hear, it had a good plot, rising action, and resolution. The music was a nice choice, as it set the mood of the film very well.

Overall, a well done film you have here Snake. Keep on filming!

I enjoyed it. It was funny. It put a smile on my face and had a nice lesson to be learned. Maybe a little simplistic; but, it was still fun. Sometimes you don't want to overthink it. Better to go with fun than overly dull. The VO's were silly too... nice and stereotypical for nerds and cool kids. Got the point across fast. The dialogue was nice and crisp and provided a good story with good entertainment. I'm in a good mood now for going to my birthday lunch. Thank you.

There's a lot of potential shown in this film,
The script, for the most part, is very, very well written, The scenes are well paced and the films message is never lost.
Although it's a tried and tested moral flick, i'm not not going to critise it for that, this type of story works well, that's the reason we've seen it before, and you managed to give the film your own edge.
A solid TMO teen flick with a strong message.
Very nicely done.

This was a great family film that I would show my nephew since he's becoming a Freshman next year. And I think that one of the final scenes where the kids whip out kung-fu action and beat down the bullies. That's what raised this rating. One thing I don't get was in the beginning the same guy in the space costume was talking or they were talking out of sync. 4/5 stars, good movie.

Story: 8/10 Basic idea was cool, but the story itself was a little weak.

Music: 4/5 Music pretty much worked. I felt oyu could have made a better selection from the in game music though.

VO/Subs: 10/10 Voice overs were very good! Great job!

Script: 5/5 Script was ok. Nothing super special.

Extras: 5/5 This movie was fine without extras.

Editing: 12/15 I felt that this movie could have been a little shorter and had better scene transition, but that it was a very solid effort. Great job!

I could ahve giving this a 3 star but i desided not to because of the ending.something that kids could look up to. it dosent matter if you cool or a nerd, fat or skinny. were all people with feelings and we should make new friends but keep the old cause one is silver and the others gold.

This was a decent movie but it seemed to be more drama than comedy, but it had message that many people forget, about abandoning old friends( I've done this quite a few times) and tring to fit in by changing their image( again I have done on many occasions) from normal, to smart, to punk , to skatboarder, to smart, to not caring so I'll give a 4 for the message behind the movie itself.

A lot has changed since I went to school I see, even if it has only been Three Years.

Your VO's are superb, nothing less than that, this is a nice little flick that had only one little flaw, editing, a little more cutting and this would be nothing short of brilliant!

This movie was very well written. Good dialogue and it shows what really goes on in school today with teens. There was a lot of thought and feeling behind it. It was well edited. Just one suggestion, the way to make sure that your camera is on the person speaking the dialogue is to overshoot - shoot more than once for a scene. Then when you go into post production, edit. It is time consuming but well worth it.

There was actually a strong message under a comical sort of movie. I liked it. It wasnt the funniest movie out there, but as i just said. It sent a message out about the bullying and treatment of certain sections of the schoolyard. So for this i am upping the amount of stars. For comedy value i am giving it only 3, but for the clever message underneath, whether it was deliberate or not, i am giving an extra star.
Well done!

Great Film, simple plot, good underlying message etc..
Voice over's were great :D The only downside I saw was the editing during the conversation between the 2 nerds and the cool/nerd. (bout 1:50) Was confused who was talking when, and it was a bit jittery. But other than that great work :D

Hope this helps, good luck for future projects.

Story/character 4/5- Well that was simple but it's ok. The character are not really developped, but enough for this short movie.

VO/Music/sound sfx/subtitles 3/5- I would like to hear some sfx sound, or even ambiant sound, but there was only original sound...The music wasn't custom but it was almost appropriate.

Editing/setdressing 4/10- The editing was bad, very sorry, but we don't even know who is speaking. You just take some speaking scene and paste your dialogue on it. But to do it better, you should paste the voice when the appropriate character of the scene is speaking. Maybe you could make more closer shot of the character when they are speaking. There wasn't any setdressing either...

Enjoyment 3/5- I'm glad the movie was short, cause if it was any longer, I couldn't survive.

Conclusion: A story about friendship and appearance of peoples. That could be better. The editing was really poor as the setdressing was. The VO were good, but sound part could be more work. A "ok" movie because it's not too long and was done without expension pack.

I was quite pleased viewing this film for three reasons. The first is story. The story is simple with no huge events other than an after school fight but I found the way in which it was told to be charming. It held my interest with my second reason for liking this film, charaters. Your voice selection for your characters is rough but it works really well. I thought each character to be seperate from one another and they did not all blend together. Each also had his own personality. Good dialog for that. Message is my third reason for enjoying this film. The message here is not new nor does it contain any hidden twists. It's a straight forward climax and outcome that puts value to the film. As a film maker you, like I and most others, still need work on the finer points of presentation. This film is not a brightly polished piece filled with heavy drama or passion but it is an easy going tale that most viewers will find easy to understand, relate to, and enjoy. Good Job!

I liked this movie. The VO's were really good and it was pretty funny overall. The only issue I had was the conversation scenes. Next time when certain characters talk, you should focus the camera on them, not everybody. Because of that it was kind of confusing to know which nerd was who. But besides that, you did a good job.

Well, this is a nice little flick, the plot is good but way too simple and needed a bit more depth and attention, a bit more freecam use and use of better music it reminds me of "Max Keeble's big move" and the ending was predictable from the start,

But on the good side the VO's where Excellent and at time I said to myself is this the same guy and I did laugh at some of the movies gags but as I said before, it??s nothing new

Overall it??s a great little flick, but needed that extra kick at times

How puffy was it? Nerds. The guys you dont wanna mess with. Cause they'll be the ones to either stab you in the face with a screwdriver, or pick-up some kung-fu somewhere..this is just another example.

Plot: 5/10 - It had a solid plot, it just seemed way too predictable. From as soon as I saw one of the nerds was a cool guy, I knew EXACTLY what was gonna happen. It wasnt a super complex mind-blowing plot, but it was enough to get through the movie.
Dialougue: 9/10 - For doing all of your voice overs you did a totally great job. They all sounded different. I totally dug the nerd voices..and the black guy..his two lines cracked me up.
Editing: 6/10 - Most scenes flowed together pretty good, nothing really dragged on for too long/was cut too short. The main problem I had was when talking I had no idea who was actually speaking. Because the camera would be on one person, while the other one is talking. It got kind of confusing. Scene choices were good for the most part too. Especially the kung-fu ones.
Sound: 7/10 - I dont really remember a whole lot of music/sounds. But I still found this enjoyable, and it didnt really need any music.
Enjoyment: 6/10 - As I already said, I already knew how the whole movie was gonna play out, cause I've seen this plot on more than one occasion. It still had some brief chuckles, but I was expecting more of a comedy than a drama. It was still cool to watch though.

Puff Factor: 33/50 = 3.3/5.0 - Not bad, it was kind of funny and was overall good.

"Changes At School" is a pleasant film with a message, yet with too much dialougue and not much happening, this film comes up short. This was sort of a hard plot to come through with on The Movies due to the lack of school sets. The 'nerds'would talk to the 'wannabe' over and over again and nothing really seemed to happen. I feel you could have done more with the fight scene between the two boys. It seemed to happen and be over without contributing much to the story.
Another flaw to this film was your voice-overs. Now I commend you for doing them all by yourself, yet they came out exaggerated. The nerds sounded as if they were second graders, yet a scene later they pulled up in cars.
This was definately a good attempt at a coming-of-age story with a message. The message was down, yet you lacked depth in the story and it seemed to be over so fast, without enough happening...

This is a reasonably good, if clichéd, little story about a familiar issue that takes place in schools. There wasn??t a lot of comedy here ?? I view it mostly as a drama. Despite voice-overs obviously done by the same person, they manage to come off surprisingly well. Other aspects of the editing leave a lot to be desired.

As this was done without the benefit of Stunts & Effects, I am keeping this under consideration for my editing and production value scores.

Overall enjoyment: 28/35. I like the basic story here, and enjoyed the voice-over work. The D&D meeting at a kung-fu place excuse was actually pulled off nicely ?? it was the one thing that managed to make me laugh here.

Editing: 22/30. The overall flow of the story was fine here. However, individual scenes, particularly conversations scenes, seemed to have little effort put into them. I??ll discuss this in my suggestions section at the end.
Voice-overs came through clearly, and were all done well. The music choices were ??okay?? ?? they could??ve been chosen a little better, even from the stock music, in a few places.

Production Value: 13/15. Some good costume choices here. Between that and the Starmaker work (or at least the actor choices), you managed to make it clear who was who throughout the entire film. Without Stunts & Effects, you had to rely on the default opening title and credits.

Characters: 8/10. Basic and clichéd, but as good as they come in a short film such as this.

Dialog: 8/10. Same comments as for the characters.

Total: 79/100.

3 stars. But right on the goal line to a 4.

My suggestions: My biggest issue here came in the visual editing department, particularly with the conversation scenes. You don??t have the ability to play with the camera, but you can still split scenes to better match the person speaking to the animation. Plan out your conversation scenes ahead, and consider creating one scene per line of dialog. When you hit post production, you can cut the scenes up to match the animations, and discard those you find you no longer need.

A Silver Rock Entertainment Review
A brand new review system
This review has been left by Andy

Opening Statement:
Bullying. Yes, a part of life that we've all had to face, one way or another. But what drives bullies to do what they do? Deep down, they're all softies as you have shown here in this film. A bit more background information on the bully himself would've added a nice touch (as most bullies suffer at home as well). We've seen this type of thing been done before, but yours has a distinguishing flavor, which tastes not too bad.

Boredom factor (Boring to Exciting) 75%
This film reminded me of a cartoon that I would watch on cartoon network, because of the simple story and typical characteristics of the heroes. I basically predicted what was going to happen from the word go, and when my predictions were correct, that took away a bit of enjoyment from the film, but nonetheless it was a bit of fun to watch, even though the editing was a little loose at times. I liked the way you developed the bully and the nerds, and as the film went on, we learned more about them, but all of their characteristics were fairly stereotypical, and lacked a sense of originality. It took a while for me to tell who was who, as the editing was very messy during the dialogue scenes, especially at the start where one character would talk and the camera would pan up to another character. It led to a lot of confusion for the first 2 minutes or so, but after a while I learned who was who. You did a fairly versatile job at having different voices, but with all those characters you had I have to admit, most of them sounded the same. Hiring VA's possibly would've made it a better film. The story was fairly straight forward and held me in, but I drifted in and out of the film at times due to its predictability, and especially near the beginning where the postman came to my house, I actually looked out the window to see who it was, so I wasn't entirely captivated (not to worry, I watched it twice). But I have to admit, I actually enjoyed this film for the most part. The comical side would probably would appeal more to a younger audience, but the serious tone of it is really what kept me in touch, as predictable as it was. You used the stereotypes effectively, but as I said before, it's all been done before.

Acting/Subtitles (Stiff to Exciting) 80%
If only you had hired voice actors! Nevertheless, you did a great job doing all the voices, there weren't any annoying noises or pops in the voices and overall it was well-acted, but I feel as if you tried to play one too many characters, which led to a few identity crashes. You used the typical bully and nerd voices, which were fairly effective, as it helped me eventually distinguish who was who due to the poor editing during dialogue scenes, which I'll touch up on next.

Technicalities: 60%
Of course you didn't have the expansion pack so I wasn't expecting the most tightest of editing or greatest of special effects, but I was looking for editing that would help tell the story. That worked, but unfortunately the editing during the dialogue scenes cost you quite a few marks, because it really downgraded the overall effect of the film. For the first two minutes or so, I had absolutely no idea who was who because the camera seemed to jumped around to all the characters when only one of them was talking. When introducing characters for the first time, it's always good to use names when talking to someone so we know instantly who they are. Also, the camera should firstly always show who is talking so we know who it actually is, and then perhaps do a distant view of the group standing in a trio. This is what your film lacked, as the camera jumped around and it took me a very long time to work out who was who. The punch-on in the field was also predictable, as we've seen that seen a dozen times. You could've perhaps used that scene as an introduction and then have them one on one to surprise us a little bit. We always love variation, and especially with the backdrop. Custom backdrops or different backdrops means that the director really does care and value their film, and has spent some time on it. You could've also just said the School Oval, not just the field. Now, where was the field? Where was the movie taking place? What school perhaps? These things are minor ingredients because you managed to cover a few holes in this little film, but important in giving us a complete picture. There was no set dressing, mods or special costumes either, so it felt as if you were contained within The Movies game.

Final report: 70%

Final Words:
I've seen some of your work and let me tell you that you're very talented. A bit more tighter editing and spicing into your films is always appreciated, but of course you don't have the expansion pack. My suggestion, is for you to buy it, because you certainly show a lot of promise as a director, but without the expansion pack to really add that extra oomph into your films, unless you pull off a miracle, most of the time the editing will fall flat and seem a bit dull.

Realizing this is not done without the movies expansion pack I had to put that into consideration when reviewing this movie. Ok to start it off, the story plot was the one thing that kept this movie together. The VO's(I'm guessing) were all done by the same person, this in fact showed your versatility more than anything. At some points they did get a little old, but i was more than impressed with that. The morale of the story had a good solid feeling at the end as well. Although its a morale that is too basic and simple for me. All in all, this movie projecting a solid story plot with a good feeling towards the end. It also amused me when you added some humor of your own in their.

5 stars!

Pretty good. Reminded me of a couple guys I went to school with.
Voices were ok -- kind of silly but fit the film.
Good scene selection.
Nice job.

This was an interesting film that at points made me smile but didn't make me laugh. There was so much potential here but it just sort of flopped. I liked the VOs in this film and the script was good, these two factors boosted it from 3 to 4 stars.
A good short film with a lot of potential.

This film was all about preaching the same life lessons that our parents and Mr. Rogers used to teach us when we were 5 years old. Do not judge people based on their appearance, be yourself, be respectful to others, what goes around comes around, etc. My point is that this is a very shallow and immature film with a much too tidily wrapped up ending. Their is simply way too much forced sentimentality here.

As far as your filmmaking skills go, there was not much evidence of anything new or creative being expressed. Camera movement was pretty much nonexistent. The Vo's seemed to have all been done by the same person, and different characters were gesturing while others were talking. Very awkward editing really stilted the pacing. Basically, the only thing that I found mildly amusing was the kung fu moves of the sci-fi nerds.

Great movie!

It was really well conceived and really well executed. The VO's were perfect and the editing was floor less.

Perfect!

some nice VOS!
I actually came to watch this looking for good VOs, be ready to hear from me soon about VOs for my movie "The Bar" (trailer out now), which also needs a lot of Voice actors, so anyone want to audition, just look in the forums, or maybe PM me.

Anyway, this was a decent movie, with some excellent VOs, and a good plot.
I think you deserve at least 4 stars, but i might be working with you soon, so i'll give you 5
:D

A pretty nice storyline and pretty darn funny.

THE GOOD: Pretty funny, some nice little jokes in there and I liked in the end how the dude that was wearing the leather suit was then wearing a geek costume. Also, the VO's were pretty good.

THE BAD: Terrible editing. It was also hard to tell who was talking when with all the bad editing.

I would give this film 3 stars, but I see you only used The Movies. So, 4 stars.

not a bad horrorific...

The Upsides:

The scenery is very nice. Use of Freecam inside the subway station set is very atmospheric.

the plot was cool. Nothing better than a monster in the underground to relate to our innate primitive fears

Mods and SFX were exteremely well. Two thumbs up

the downsides:

VOs - I found them flatter than Nebraska, emotionless... Monotoneous VOs are the very kind of thing that wrecks an otherwise excellent movie. Others may have been more forgiving about it but I'm sorry.. I believe that when you decide to VO a movie you should not settle down for any VA but to pursue the most fitting ones.

The horror (or lack thereof) - This movie isn't really about horror. It didn't horrify me. It didn't make me cringe. It didn't even make me feel disgusted. It was a detective movie with a touch of paranormal... that's all there is to it...

The music - was there any? In movies, the soundtrack can often bring up or tear down your movie. Could you think of Darth Vader without John Williams' "Imperial March"? Of Requiem for a Dream without Marion Barfs' "Winter Overture"? This movie sorely lacks good horror music that would amp what the eyes see...

Overall - A nice thriller that could have been a lot better. I know that fitting music, good VAs and horrifiying atmospheres are hard to produce but you should try :)

A pretty funny movie, the only flaws were the editing and maybe the length.

All of VO's were good, easy to hear, and funny. I couldn't tell it was you doing all of them. The story was pretty good, but I feel it could have been longer had more to it. The editing was really the only problem. Most of the time you showed a character that wasen't talking, and that can be confusing.

Next time, edit the conversation scenes together to show who is talking, and maybe make your movie longer and more in depth, and you will have a great comedy.

In taking a step back, I notice that your film was made with "The Movies" which changes the way in which I can analyze the film.

However, plot is immune the changes between The Movies and the expansion pack. I really think you could've had more fun with the plot, but its pretty solid. We're not talking about the dramatics of a long and elaborate action hole, we're talking about a comedy that can skip over the finer points of plot holes. You had solid characters and you found a plot amidst the jokes. Well done. This is an example film, I wouldn't say it pushes boundaries, but it has all the things a film needs to be good, so, you naturally have a strong foundation at 3 stars minimum.

However you really crafted jokes... good jokes... funny jokes :D I am a sucker for classic comedy, and you reaches for more than slapstick comedy that reeks like a bad fart joke. You played on the elements of style we all can align with, you used witty dialog to evolve simple characters into somewhat dynamic characters. I think with a comedy that relies on jokes you run the risk of meeting reviewers who either "get it" or "don't get it" So your reviews will bounce around. For your next comedy, the jokes should add to a stronger plot. Challenge yourself to create more complex environments, you did well with characterization, but you need to create a world. Even if that world is 2007, down the street, it is still a false world because its a film. So, you need to weave your world with the real one, and tie up every seam. [plot holes].

From a writing perspective well done. Now, on to editing.

The opening scene is your biggest killer, as we need to learn who the characters are in the first seconds and get totally confused. People are talking, but you show a different actor. I know you're wrestling with generic scenes, but if you film the same scene 5 times, and edit them down to the same character speaking, run it together, it will show the same person talking. It may be a little repetitive, but reviewers will understand what you mean. It makes it difficult to have to know characters only on voices in the opening, especially when dealing with this visual medium we call film.

Overall, I laughed, so you get a good review. I hope you take my comments to heart, and use them to improve. If you maintain your dynamic style but expand on your solid foundation you will really have a quality film.

An interesting idea for a film, teenage angst and fear of a new place making someone uncomfortable with who they are, causing debates of personalities, changes of feelings and falling out with mates to try and be something he's not.

We've all been there as one of those characters, jsut few have got the super cool kung fu moves, the ablity to be kicked in the groin and not fall to the ground and feel like crud, driving off into the sunset with your best buds, or slipping on a bannana peel on the floor, who pays the janitor cos he should be fired.

Some of the jokes fal flat, and some of the unintenioanlly funny moments stand out a lot, but all in all, it conveys the true message "School is for losers", next movie will end with Do drink and drive, or do do drugs, right?

Story: Generic but good and pretty funny to boot. And the morale of it is all too true everybody trys to hard to be cool..and since stupid junk like cutting yourself is considered *cool* its even more stupid theses days. The end was great though

V0s: They were cheesy but i think they were meant to be and it was quite funny. The dialoge itself was amuseing and the jokes were funny BECAUSE they were cheesy

The Movie: Nothing out of the ordinery as far as editing and stuff but thats always a bad thing and solid none the less

Overall its cool and funny little short i enjoyed it

GREETINGS FROM L.M.A.O. STUDIOS!

LOL! That was funny, but dumb too. I liked it! Favorite quote: "He's gunna get wooped by those cool kids" & "The last D&D meeting was at a kung fu place!" Priceless. This made me laugh out loud and its LMAO Studios' policy to give an auto 5 star vote for making any of us laugh out loud! Great job!

5-star entertainment with 1-star editing during the conversations.

Deary me - how many times did it look like one guy was talking when it was actually someone else not in centre-frame or out of shot? Too many.

All that was needed here were some closeups of each character as they delivered their lines. It would have looked snappier and there would be no confusion.

But that's my only complaint (a huge one well worth a -2 stars though)- the VO and the story were very good and I laughed at the line which justified the geeks decision to help their old friend: "There's still some good left in him - I know it" (Star Wars, episode V or VI) - if you can forgive the dodgy editing (or lack of it), the same could be said of this film.

The Archaic Awards
Review

Story: 8/10 Basic idea was cool, but the story itself was a little weak.

Music: 4/5 Music pretty much worked. I felt oyu could have made a better selection from the in game music though.

VO/Subs: 10/10 Voice overs were very good! Great job!

Script: 5/5 Script was ok. Nothing super special.

Extras: 5/5 This movie was fine without extras.

Editing: 12/15 I felt that this movie could have been a little shorter and had better scene transition, but that it was a very solid effort. Great job!

Final Score: 44/50

Hmmm...This was a great movie, and your starting to make a name for yourself, at least in my books, for your excellent VOs, but this film was slightly let down by a lack of editing. For a lot of the conversation scenes the camera would point at people who weren't talking and it was very confusing. If you get S&E (which I advise), I'm sure you can solve these problems and make some brilliant movies.

Well Done, Cheese

A story that most people in one way or another most people can relate too. I think you do a very good job of getting a simple message out, and with the limits of not having S & E, you manage to keep it moving and use the scenes to propel the story forward. Simple and direct, you do a good job of keeping it paced and to the point. Nice touch of having the wanna be cool guy still be a nerdy guy on the inside.

Not a bad little story. Some repetitive shots really slowed it down and I think you could have edited it just a bit tighter. Some of the animation completely stopped which destroys the illusion of motion. This happened at least twice when the three boys were talking. However, I like the story and the effort. Voice actors were okay too.

Not bad, I liked the general plotline, I can remember this sort of thing happening back in high school...

I felt myself losing interest a few times though, and a movie which does that just isn't 5 star material... sorry.
