Good Boy

On what begins as a routine walk home from work, turns into a mans worst nightmare as he is stalked by a vicious dog.
Another attempt at suspense horror rather than the gore horror. My last horror feature was What Lurks in the Shadows, and that really brought out the paranoia fears. What could be. In Good Boy i have taken just pure fear of something dangerous pursuing you.
In case you are all wondering, the jungle set is supposed to be a local park in the movie. It was the closest thing i could find.
**NOTE** At times in the movie the music cuts and starts again. Just a minor problem i had while uploading it.
I hope you enjoy my 2nd horror movie and that you leave helpful (good or bad) reviews for me to learn off.
Thanks and enjoy!

Jeez you sure know how to start off staight away with alot of tension and suspense. I thought there could have been more depth but for what you aimed to do , you managed to pull it off pretty well. Good use of the ambience music coupled with the great use of fog! .. ingenious but highly effective!
Keep it up and looking forward to a feature film from you!

GREETINGS FROM L.M.A.O. STUDIOS!
An eerie nightmare comes to TMO
THE GOOD: The tone was especially fitting for this film. It kept the feeling of panic and suspicion around every turn. The use of silence was a great choice in filmmaking. That last "crossing of the street to get to safety" right to left check was brilliant.
THE BAD: Under use of sound works great, however some parts need a bit more sound to match the rest of the film. Guy walks and sound is heard, but then not heard later. Same with dog growls at fence. That??s about it.
This is a classic nightmare we all have hade more than once in our lives, at least I have. The tone and simple brilliance of this tale are the backbone to this movies success!
Great!

Nice movie. Had a great eerie atmosphere to it.
I like movies where you have to work out the story from the visuals presented.
This movie accomplished that & worked well.
The only thing I though a little odd was some set jumps, City, then jungle, then Neighbourhood.., unless the jungle was a park between Suburbia & the City.
Still this is minor in context to the whole movie.
I enjoyed it regardless. Good stuff!

I have to say that the movies you make out of this genre, dare I say, suck!
But when you make horror films, they are great!
I thought this was appealing as I bloody hate rottweilers, dobermans, etc!
It was very impressive. I think you'd do well with cult horror.
You may want to check out my film "Necrophiliac".
Please give at least 4 stars if you watch it! I only say this because all of your reviews to my previous films were bad! Then again, they weren't horror!

I must say that this idea for a movie is fairly original, which is good. As A.N.D said, I saw it more like a mini-scene rather than a full movie with storyline, but it's good, seeing as it looks like you like making horror movies. I say you keep at the horror movies. There are so many unique ideas out there, Keep going and you'll probably make a hit movie.
cheers,

I must say this movie wassurprisingly good and very suspenseful. The beginning gave me the creeps and you could feel the panic he was going through.
When he went to the "park", the movie started to go downhill. It wasn't as fast and creepy as in the amazing beginning. But I think you pulled it off well :)
The music really helped build up the entire feeling of the movie and no Vo's actually helped I think, it gave a suspenseful silence. This movie is not "Funky" but pretty darn close!
5 stars! //Towelie

Honest review.
I didn't like it.
This is just my personal opinion, I'll try to judge it from a technical standpoint.
The movie did evoke a certain tingling in my spine and succeeded in the tension but it never paid off. It had an anticlimactic ending that left me with a feeling of wasted time.
There was no dialogue, no plot besides a man being chased by a dog, and no emotion. I didn't care if this man was mauled by this animal. It just felt too bland.
Please take this into consideration.

This is more of an extended scene than a full film, with no real characterization, unfolding plot narrative, or particularly outstanding changes to the software's defaults, so I cannot in good conscience grant it five stars - this would unfairly balance its influence on other, fuller TMO films.
"Good Boy" is shackled with some minor editing issues AND blessed with some standouts (the shadowy dog walking through the fog was particularly unnerving), sports good audio in some places and weak in others (using only default software sounds, for instance, can feel dated and stagnant and can often be done better after a couple of internet searches for stock sounds), and is, at its core, a "one-trick dog" kind of film...
But taken alone, as what it's intended to be - a small, suspenseful set piece - "Good Boy" does an EXCELLENT job of splicing together the limited scenes, sets, and settings of the Movies game to skillfully convey the sense of suspense it was shooting for.
So, after all that, this is still actually a very well done little piece you have here, Melon - and you should be proud of your effort.

Simple, creepy, and very effective horror.
Some of the best horror takes common things, and makes them a threat. Nice use of atmosphere and sound.
Nice work!

Impressive! A great job capturing the escense of fear. The haunting music overlayed a terrifying sequence of suspense to create a dynamic horror extravaganza. Beautiful work!
The only complaint: in-game screams. That ruined the starting finale. Otherwise, wonderful work!
