This movie is so easy to relate to irrespective of whether you are male or female.

Someone catches your eye. Without warning or any sign of logic your brain decides that you've fallen in love with them. But it's all one way traffic - you've noticed them, you want them but they are totally unaware of how you feel. You pluck up the courage to approach them and tell them how you feel. You are positive they'll feel the same way, that they've been waiting for you to approach them, and that you'll go riding off into the sunset together and live happily ever after.

So now's the time, it's now or never. You see your intended conquest. You walk towards them (all the time remembering the big speech that you've been practising for the past fortnight). You start to open your mouth to say something but the words get stuck before they come out. WHO THE HELL IS THAT, you think to yourself. Until that moment it has never occurred to you that the subject of your unrequited love may already be in a relationship. Now you don't want to be noticed, you want the ground to swallow you up and make you disappear. But you just stand there with your mouth open, looking gormless. That's when they notice you.

Now you hate them with a passion. You can't figure out what you saw in them in the first place.

But hey life goes on, you get over it.

Unrequited love - irrational, illogical, selfish, inexplicable.

A Dulci movie about unrequited love - classy, sophisticated, humourous, touching.

This is what Dulci excells at. A short three-minute movie packed with depth and emotion.

Brilliant.

Stylistically simple and stripped down, yet still very powerful and emotional. This film packs a wallop, hearkening back to the days of neorealist romantic pining that marked much of Dulci's earlier work. For that, I would say that this is the beginning of a return to form; the queen of domestic drama makes her come back.

But we'll have to see what you have in store for us, Dulci. In the meantime, I will only watch this and get all giddy inside about how great it is.

Always been a fan of Dulci's, especially of her short introspective pieces.

The Good: I love Dulci's ability to tell a full story in a short period of time. Her main character and her situation is one that we can all relate too. It can be hard when we find that our dreams(or who we dream about as the case may be) don't turn out the way that we plan. The music was nicely atmospheric and Dulci's performance as the jilted dreamer was of the kind that we've come to expect from her.

The Bad: Aside from a slight akward edit or two there is really not much to say here.

Overall just glad to see that Dulci is still at it making movies :)

Dulci, let me preface this review by stating that I love your film shorts, perhaps even better than your feature length movies. They are from the heart. And it is for that reason that they resonate and speak so clearly. They are grounded, earthly...human.

You did such a great job at conveying a very human...very emotional situation. It is something women and men have dealt with for ages. As you allude to in the brilliant title, when one is in love they don't see with their eyes. Rational thought seems to get tossed away like a cheap ragdoll. You become enfatuated...obsessed. You refuse to think of anything that will send you tumbling off cloud 9.

Which is why when that love is shattered it hurts. It feels like thousands of shards of glass have just peirced your heart. Your emotional high plummets to the earth like a meteor. You are then filled with feelings of hate and betrayl, regardless of whether the person deserves those feelings or not.

Love and hate are some of the most powerful emotions we have. It's kind of funny how often they seem to go hand in hand...

Very good and simple story. This something very usual. You want to talk to someone and tell what you really feel, and when you get the courage to do it, in many times, it's already too late. That's why love is so hard.
Very appropriate backround music too.

Please check out my latest movie "All along the watchtower", based on Bob Dylan's song.

Ah the trials and tribulations of love. The ever illusive prospect of that first moment, the first intimate encounter, the first expression and realisation of true feelings, the hurt and letdown when it doesn't quite work out as you'd dreampt. A wonderfully crafted and well though out piece with first rate VO's and bags of class.

Would appreciate any feedback you might be able to offer on my first 2 releases

cheers

Simple and effective. Great use of your voice and how a short movie can capture an emotion that most of the planet have been at some time or other. The music also carries the music niceley. I especially loved the shot of the shadow, to me that shadow could have been almost anybody. I'm glad to see the ribbon attached to this movie.

A very powerful movie. I usually don't enjoy romances (*ducks for cover*), but you have managed to make a beautiful movie with a powerful message. An amazing voice over job by yourself and a solid script. A movie that many can relate too. Good job and good use of freecam. Music was very well selected too.

Good job and good luck on future projects!

I normally have my doubts about watching short films, It's not easy to squeeze an entertaining yarn into 3 mins, but I should have known better.
The narrative building up to and focusing on one moment was more effective than I would have thought possible.
Hope & Anticipation, Anger, Jelousy and all in a 3 min package - Amazing!

Stylishly filmed and technically flawless, the shot focusing on the girls shadow when she exits the bar was wonderful.

You've managed to cram alot of emotion into a 3min movie and I loved it.

That's men for you, with a lot of guys it's first come first served. If another woman gets there first then it's game over. It takes all the romance out of the situation but that's life unfortunately. This movie captured the essence of that, which is something i see happen all the time. It's like the old saying, He/She who hesitates is lost.

It is often said that less is more, and in this page out of a woman's diary a whole volume is revealed. I dare say it may even be cut shorter, but certainly not at the expense of missing out on even one second of Dulci's rapturous monologue.

Very good movie, I bet you a lot of girls her age do think about killing or hurting the one that is falling in love with her man Lol. Very true story. There were some things though. The Characters didn't really talk, only the narrater talked ( A.k.a The Women )There were a bit of Special Features but none that I could recall saying WOW! As A TOP 25 movie for Special Effects and you are 22, I am very disappionted. Also with the background music, it was a nice tune for the movie but it was the only tune threwout the entire movie. Which is why I have given you only 3 stars.

Special Effects: 10% Needs Improvement
Voice Overs: 65% Satisfactory
BackGround Music: 50% Needs Improvement

This was an honest and ingenuous short movie, reflecting sincere emotions. There was one really nice and quiet moment, when the camera was staring at the shadow near the end. But I also felt that these kind of short movies would have benefited from more dynamic and creative camera movements, and the slightly humorous hypothetical scenes broke the mood and the illusion for me. This is still an enjoyable short, and I hope to see more of these!

Very, very nice, Dulci. Very nice indeed. To be honest, for some reason I expected a different ending; an over-the-top ending (just like the fantasy moments!) I'm glad I was wrong. It was perfect.

I love the way you put this together - the images, the viewer knows exactly what is dream and what is real.. the music which was very beautiful and fitted perfectly.. but mostly it´s your voice and how you are telling this with so much emotion which brings this movie to life. Bravo!

The ending was just so perfect, and I especially thought the shot of her shadow cast upon the alleyway was a splendid metaphoric comment on her loneliness...that shot was one of the most creative and emotionally-driven shots I've seen on TMO,and it was just a shadow!
Nicely done:-)

It's a good thing I didn't make this movie, because I would have had her find out that he went to a Village People-styled gay-bar lol!

A very nice shorty.

It told a very common story (let me clarify - I'm definitely NOT saying this was unoriginal [quite the opposite] - I'm saying most of us have been there) with perfect pace and beautiful voice work. Also, a dose of humour too - mainly in the excellent timing of the editing which really captured her thoughts and dreams without having to resort to the cloud overlay! (I also liked the Romeo & Juliette star-crossed lovers line - This really is a girl that wants it all!)

A nice ending too with the guy at the bar and the woman - which didn't strike me at first; but, now that I think about it - it shows something about the female psyche that her immediate reaction is to go after that particular character in so many horrendous ways (hope nothing got given away there).

Great work/choice regarding Kevin Macleod's music. It was perfect for this film in setting both "halfs" of the mood and never in an overpowering way.

So, this one successfully led us into the "giddy" mind of its main character - a nice script with an even better performance did that job magnificently.

But the best thing about this was definitely the performance -

Another of life's little sagas portrayed here wonderfully in this short movie.
