With everything that has been said about this film I thought, Gee whiz, It will be neat. Boy was I wrong. It wasnt neat, it was a stunning feat, a far reaching achievement that went beyond the games boundaries and set a very solid bar higher than expected. Simply wow. Much deserving of all its praise in so many ways.

So much has been said about this film, i dont feel I could add anything to that list except I will say I was impressed. Genuinely impressed. My hats off to you MGM, you live up to your studios name and then some. The real star of this film is you, the one who put it together and had this vision. That folks is what makes a great filmmaker. Give them all the ingredients for what could have been a disaster and watch them soar above the crowd and show us just what passionate story telling without limits looks like.

Clearly, MGM is the heavyweight Champion of epic filmmaking on TMO.

This is the pinnicle of TMO film right here. As someone who loves Gladiator and the original RL Cleopatra with Liz Taylor, I was dumbfounded and amazed by this astounding piece of work. The VO's were brilliant by all the actors involved, the directing was the best I've seen on TMO since the Movies has been released. The sets and backgrounds put me in Alexandria and I believed I was there. Just absolutely BRILLIANT!!! This is what I as a new director must aspire too. With this film the bar is set high for everyone.

Let me also say how perfect and genius JudyAnn88 is. She is a new master here in TMO for what she did for the costumes and make-up in this film.

MGM, you are the best as of now... as far as I am concerned. A Brilliant piece of TMO filmmaking.

Well, well, well... that was very, very, very fine.

As an employee of an organization housing the largest collection of authentic Egyptian artifacts in Western North America, I watch films about Egypt with an extremely critical eye. When I saw that a film was being made about Cleopatra, I fully expected to be, at turns, angered, irritated, and upset with yet another bad portrayal of ancient Egypt.

I was wrong.

This is really good work, MGM, especially considering the limitations of this software and the need to keep stories succint and direct to hold the viewers' attention. That almost-twenty minutes flew right on by.

From its talented voice cast to its outstanding visuals, excellent scene selections, wonderful costumes, and wow-wow-wow set pieces, "Cleopatra" satisfies.

I can't wait to see more of your talent, MGM.

Film on.

An insanely good film. A ridiculously talented cast (including career topping performances from Skintrade H_fincchiaro), amazing backdrops and some suitably stunning costume design from JudyAnn88 and IchthusADMR virtually make the film by themselves and MGM's simultaneously subtle and exciting direction catapults this epic into immortality. Without flaw? No: We have to wait two months for part two.

Out of the sands of Egypt and on to TMO rises a true epic acheivement in moviemaking that will certainly be hearlded as a classic for months or even years to come.

As soon as the credits roll, you know that is film will be memorable. The haunting Egyptian tune, composed so beautifully by David Ben Shannon, permeates into our soul. Then we are literally taken from our seats and transported to the majestic time of ancient Egypt. The breathtaking sets and gorgeous costumes cause one to forget that they are simply watching a TMO movie. We feel like we are right there alongsilde Julius Ceasar as he meets the ravishing Cleopatra for the first time.

Skintrade gives Julius that hardened and tired voice of a man who has commanded an entire nation throughout his life. Strong, rough, and collected; his voice was perfect for the role.
Then comes the sexy, seductive, and sweet voice of Cleopatra played so perfectly by H_finocchiaro. She speaks with authority, and yet still keeps that seductive tone that lures the resilient Ceasar like a bee to honey. No wonder he is so taken in by her! How can any man not be?
Of course I must tip my cap to the rest of the fine cast. Not a single weak link in the group. They all played their roles to perfection.

My clothes feel like they should be covered in sand. That is how stunning these sets are. From the elegant royal palace, to the radiant gardens, Alexandria comes to life on TMO! And I simply cannot write this review without mentioning the spectacular costumes by Judyann88. When Cleopatra came walking up to Julius in her green dress, my heart skipped a beat! No one can doubt that she is a rose amongst thorns.

A true classic. I simply cannot wait for this tale to continue. MGM, you sir have outdone yourself. I am still left mesmerized as I type this review.

The wait has been long, but it's been well worth it!

Amazing stuff, MGM - from the acting to the cinematography to the costumes to the score to the amazing backdrops and set dressing and the special effects, every aspect of this movie is truly outstanding! Kudos to everyone who worked on this.

From the overture to the intermission at the end, it was an epic Hollywood experience.

Bravo!

What an epic! Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Plotline was highly enjoyable and perfectly clear on how it runs. Great 'group' of talented voiceactors - they've created their chracters to suit the interest of the viewer.

The music was very stunning and made the whole movie more atmostphereic. You really succeded in creating the music feel more for the 'genre'. It seemed that the editing was carefully done and it really made the whole movie feel intact. I was most impressed on how it was well put together. By doing this, it gives more power into the story telling and it makes a clear communication to knowing what it's about.

Overall, I found this movie entertaining, atmostphereic and extremely clever. This movie clearly shows that you have a good talent in movie-making. Recommended award and Five star award.

I've been saving this as a treat, after seeing Rio Diablo, MGMKid, and I'm not disappointed. Great script, great direction, great voice acting, great action scenes and great music. 5 Stars. I'll save part two for another day.

This is likely to be the greatest movie ever to be released on TMO. I salute you. Never before have I been so impressed. It must have been a hard task to make this movie considdering the game's limitations. The editing was some of the greatest I've seen, but what really impressed me was the dialog. The script and acting was nothing less than brilliant. Im going to watch the sequel later.

I read one of your reviews of some chap's movie and noticed that you liked his choice of making a horror/comedy, so I have something I would like to ask of you. I have this horror movie with comedy undertones. Narrated as a psychotic childrens rhyme. If you could give me a review of "The Creepy Clown Visits - A Poem" I would really appreciate it.

I can't say that it was a super-epic film(in terms of getting everything right, or just about decent). It was very ambitious, but with the little nick nacks that I just didn't like too well, it was a good adaptation on whatever source mat. you used. Rather it be you take on it, or adaptation or both, it was okay.

This was an almost perfect movie. Almost. I felt you did almost everything right. The music never overpowered the people. The VOs were very good. I'm glad someone finally showed some emotion in there voices. The story was great. That is my main focus on my reviews. You did great at that. With the dialouge that was written fitting nicely with the VO artists you chose. Now to the thing I didn't like. The sets seem almost to much at times. Sometimes they were amazing but at others I kinda felt they took away from the great acting going on. But overall this movie was grand. I will be finishing the second half later tonight. I knew I shouldn't of watched this without having enough time because I'm really FREAKING excited to see the second half. Oh yeah and this is also a NINJA CRONIC FULL MEAL MOVIE!!!

A FREDTHEDUCK REVIEW (romance)

Plot: 19/20 - I really enjoyed that plot, it was spectacular

Heartwarming/Tragic: 17/20 - I was actually beaming at the first kissing scene in this, and I wouldn't have realised if a fly hadn't flew into my mouth (how unlucky is that?) However, what i couldn't understand was why in one scene she was shouting at him for burning her city, getting really workexd up, and in the next she was kissing him... mayhe I missed something obvious, but that seems odd to me...

VOs: 13/15 - Brilliant voiceovers throughout, although volume levels were inconsistent.

Custom content: 8/10 - That was THE most spectacular modded set dressing I've ever seen, although you used the default title sequence (as well as your own) and because that annoys me, I had to deduct two marks.

Editing: 14/15 - That editing was superb, and all but faultless, so forgive me for being picky when I say that I thought the opening title sequence was a little too long. Other than that, I really cannot fault your editing.

Music/sfx: 10/10 - Admultosanos did spectacularly well scoring this. As I have mentioned the kissing scene above, most of that was the music that did it for me.

The "wow" factor: 10/10 - Phenomenal. One of my favourite words in the English language, but I barely find an opportunity to use it.

TOTAL: 91% - 5 star!

I do not know how long this has been bookmarked for me to watch and its about time a did.

I must say that this was a stunning movie, which is a gem to watch, and excellent array of VA's bring this film to life and the use of props and custom content is probably one of the finest of TMO.

An excellent Movie that demonstrates what can be done with The Movies.

Awesome script, direction, VO acting, costuming, backdrops and last but not least an amazing musical score.

After 25 pages of reviews, six rewards and a whole lotta of extra praise on the forums, I can't say anything without repeating someone elses' words, but, what the heck, why not?

I'm a sucker for historical flicks and can say that this appeared to be very well researched, not to mention very well acted. Of course, the actual people back then didnt' really have those sorts of accents, but like in all films today the people of old are presented as having an off-beat Englishy accent - And I can tell that you are definitely trying to make this indeed a very "Real life Movie" type of picture. You've succeeded greatly. It felt like I was watching an actual movie. The mods were wonderfully done, the best historical depiction I have seen created with The Movies game to date.

A well done, fantastic job. I am off to go watch the second part right now.

Ummm this movie was very well done there is just some bad things about it!
1- The shorts on the guards (not a good look)
2- Some scenes were a little boring
3- The music kept on getting repeated!

I know you tried really hard on this movie with the sets and everything but it just didn't work with me !!sorry!!

A great movie.

As a big fan of Ceasar myself i was glad to say that you personalized him very well however i would say that i did not like the voice of him that you had. Also, when ceasar and cleopatra kissed, i thought you made it look great and real. The sets were amazing and the story was also superb

in the end, very very very well done and i would recommend it for anyone who wants to see how a movie is made.

It's been around for a while, but I finally saw the poster when I logged into TMO this morning. I decided it's about time I had taken a look at the film, Cleopatra, that everyone's been talking about.

The use of mmodded props was ingenious. You practically built all of your sets from the ground up using the blue screen and your custom backdrops. The voice overs were spot on, everything from the narration in the beginning to the characters speaking, and the background sound effects during the battles. And the musical score was perfect! It fit in with everything that was happening and it made it seem all the more authentic. The freecam work definitely added to the overall quality of the film as well.

This film had almost no errors. Everything about it was just extremely well thought out. Cleopatra is a film for the ages!

I havent watched this before now (I know it is really a same). Fantastic film, with a intersing script combined with actors and actresses that delivers with perfection. The amount of work you have put into this piece of art is really out of scale ... becasue I mean, what a atmosphere you created. You have trademark on that. The battle scenes however wasnt the best, since I expected epic sword battles, but that is just a minor problem in a after all, excellent romance film. Excellent work mgm. We don't get very many epics, I mean true epics in breadth and scale such as this one. And this one,I'm glad to say, delivered the goods and then some.

With 20 pages of reviews, you've read it all.
I'll just comment on the stuff I'm most familiar with. Such as.. the music!

On a 1 to 10 scale it's a 10. Real world productions would pay thousands of dollars for this level of original music locked to picture... so I congradulate Admultosanos for and excellent job,I know that you worked hard on this and it payed off.

Visually, I place MGMKid1 right at the top for epic TMO movies.Be it in the props, setdressing or backdrop department.. I see no equal. You don't see to rely much on animated overlays either, at least not in this one, letting the story do the telling.

The voice overs were very, very, done.I missed a few of Ceasar's lines;I would have increased his volume by a few decibels.

This films flows well because of the excellent script and direction.

I will be looking out for part 2, amazing job MGMKid1,

cheers,

I found the overture a little long, but well it's a peplum isn't it lol ? After that, the spectacle was very attractive, so immersive ! You did a great and creative use of extra material, I especially appreciated the Egyptians' costumes (including your beautiful Cleopatra), backdrops were very fine too (even if not always matching completeley, in my opinion). Very good performances for the voice over actors, but the files quality is not always perfect (problems of volume variation or noices). Great great job ! Two regrets : the Roman uniforms are the same for private and for officers and Cesar looks too young. Some aspects really remembered me the Mankiewicz'movie (I just love). Part 2 is expected !

Great piece of artwork. From the begining, I've been wondering how would you achieve the convincing effect of burning alexandrian library, and the scenes you've created didn't dissapoint me.

Love the look of the sets, I even don't want to know how frustrating it must have been to put so many decorations, and keep them in te same place from scene to scene, great work.
THe music has been chosen perfectly.

I could go on about the authenticity of this movie. I could go on about the superb music soundtrack. I could go on about the backdrops, sets, mods, etc.

Instead, I'll just say how much I enjoyed this masterpiece of a movie.

I could go on...

AMAZING!!!

A two-thumbs way up performance from
the #1 ACTION/DRAMA director on TMO!
That was great, I definately did not
expect it ti be that grand and epic.
Your style of producing surely led to
that ability. I feel your respect for
actor's 'light' and set design really
made this feel true to life. I wouldn't
believe this to be a twenty minute
movie. I hope you continue this soon
with another blow out movie just ready

on the TMOscar nomination. I hope things
just keep going UP-> from here on out!
GOOD LUCK!!!

A well-written script; wonderful music, setdressing and modding that really set a great atmosphere; a great cast of (Voice) Actors.
All these elements combined form an epic movie only MGM can make.

Will it get any better? Yes, 'cause there will be another part.

Bravo. MGM It took me a while to rate it but it's finally here. Cleopatra is one of the greatest movies to behold on TMO. Of course The cast was great.
H_finocchiaro, was amazing It felt like she was the real Cleopatra.
Skintrade, did a wonderful job he acted so Julius Caesar like.
Docontheweb, Doc did a great job in this one he can fit into any role.

So Bravo and I cant wait till part 2.

Film on.

- EwanG

Very ambitious scope, and it delivers on many fronts. Soundtrack was excellent, with low (but still noticeable) noise on the voice recordings. Lip Sync seemed to be on and then off, which may be to do with the way the scenes were cut. Encoding caused the film to occasionally pause/skip even after DL'ing to a Core Duo machine.

Acting was very well done, and the selection of voices was excellent. Costumes were superb, and the sets were pretty good although occasionally it was obvious that the temple was a backdrop.

Was a little confused that during the attack sequence there was gun fire, and that the Roman soldiers didn't seem to be carrying spears.

Will be quite interested to see part 2 and see where it goes from here.

Cleopatra, at times, it seems like a sprawling epic, and at others, very incoherent and messy. One thing I can say for Clepotra is that it is a technical achievment, wonderful sets and costumes, effects and sound, but the plot was confusing, the acting, less than par and very laughable, all except than the perofrmance by H_finocchiaro as Cleopatra in which I commend, and I spent the majority of the film scratching my head over the cheezy dialogue that made no sense. But deserves three stars for its wonderful technicality.

A wonderful story and compelling characters are punctuated by some truly astonishing production work here. The original music is incredible, and really serves to highlight the atmosphere of the film. This is not a film without flaws, however, as there are a number of issues in the editing department.

Overall enjoyment: 31/35. An engaging story that is only brought down by its editing flaws. There were a few too many distractions here for me to be thoroughly entertained.

Editing: 24/30. The strongest points here are the way the scenes flow from one to the next, and the choice of music to set the atmosphere. Each individual scene, however, frequently has some issues. During conversation scenes, we quite often see characters gesturing as though they are the speaker ?? when in fact someone else is. While voices come through clearly, some have noticeable starts and stops, and one even had an audible hum. But the grand-daddy editing mistake of them all: in one shot early in the film, the camera pans back only to reveal set scaffolding at the top of the picture! 2 points off for that alone ?? never let it happen again!

Production Value: 15/15. Truly astounding work in every way here! This is my toughest category, and this film simply tops them all. Costumes, set dressing, and backdrops are always gorgeous to look at. The custom opening title and credits sequence make this feel like a true Hollywood production. Bravo!

Characters: 10/10. Outstanding characters, portrayed extremely well by all involved!

Dialog: 10/10. Just fantastic dialog throughout.

Total: 90/100.

5 stars! And just barely, too.

My suggestions: Regarding the voices, clip out the front and end of the recordings to remove that *click* noise. Any that have noise in the background can be removed using Audacity's "Noise Removal" filter.
During the conversation scenes, there are times when the wrong character is gesturing. You did well to make sure the audience always knew who was speaking (though that is largely due to the obvious differences in each character's voice)? but this would be much improved if you were to ensure the camera angle hides those rather distracting animations.

Outstanding!
I knew that I woud not be dissapointed as soon as I pressed play and the opening credits began to role. This has possibly the most cinematic opening sequence I've seen on TMO.

From the excellently written and beautifuly voiced opening narrative, the quailty never drops for a second right through to the end/intermission.

The stunning sets, the perfect costumes, the use of props, the attention to detail used here is mind blowing.
This is not only technically flawless, it's an inspiration to everyone and shows that it is truely possible to create a genuine cinematic experience using The Movies.

The voice acting was superb as was the dialogue. I really, really thought the script was magnificent.

You've made a film which has left me in awe.
As well written as it is beautiful, both touching and dramatic, this film is a true epic.

Ok I give you two stars for backdrops. Otherwise the movie just flat out sucked. The voiceovers were pretty decent but the storyline was a little shaky. Here are some of the cons.

1. The warriors didn't have any weapons. It's kind of hard to fight a war with just your fists.

2. Sometimes people would be out of place. There was one scene were Caeser and the other guy were on opposite sides and the next they are on the same. Also at the end of the movie you have Caeser walking the feminine part and Cleopatra the masculine.

Music was pretty good. It fit with the whole Egyptian part.

It dragged on in a few parts. It should of been more dramatic with the Egyptian army thing.

At the end of your movie you put the title "Intermission". There won't be any intermission for me because I am definatly not watching Part 2.

All hail IchthusADMR (creator of Alletheo) for his mods, and also special thanks to Skintrade for supplying the voice of Caeser.

Private Message to Skintrade: Hey you did a pretty good job in Moby Dick.... FOR ONE SECOND HAHAHAHAHA.

Wonderful, amazing, astounding, incredible, earth shattering, majestic and all other praises I can lavish on this film! I was afraid of gross historical inaccuracies, but it was like someone had a video camera there whilst the history was unfolding. I only found 2 very small problems. First one being Caesar's voice, it was a little too quiet and gruff. Caesar was a charismatic man, his voice flowed out like the finest silk. Secondly, I was dazed and confused at the section between the beginning and end of the siege of Alexandria. Was that supposed to be a time lapse? I sure hope so, because the siege lasted much, much, much longer than one night. When all is said and done though, this is without a doubt the best and most astounding movie I've ever seen on here. A Roman history fan sends his most sincere thanks for a great part one.

"The die is cast," the great Julius Caesar once said as his armies crossed the Rubicon. Indeed, the die does seem to be cast across TMO, but thankfully, due to MGM's brilliant work, we now (finally!) know where it will land. This is a work of greatness, MGM, and is certainly an amazing testament to your ability. You so readily employ such brilliantly colored sets, voice talent, and elecutio into your films, and this was certainly no exception. I love this film, and I'm happy to be a part of its production. I eagerly anticipate the next installments.

but i guess i was disapointed

it could have been shorter
i find that it could have been more action packed
and of course it could have had more custom effects

Oh dear, oh dear - what to make of that?!

It was a real battle of the fates to decide whether this was a 4 or a 5.

The visual splendour of the film was superb - that alone would never allow it to drop below 3 stars.

But the early shots were very unpromising - we had a shot of the top of the backdrop with girders, we had characters moving and swaying about when another character was talking (I initially thought the guy with long hair was Ceasar in an opening exchange because of that). I'm talking to you now - are you gesticulating with your arms and moving your head? (ok, maybe one finger - but that wouldn't come out in on-line quality). So the opposite person seemed to be talking - this also happened in other parts of the film, but not quite to the same degree. Simple close-ups of each character would have been much better - a simple group shot for the greetings followed by close-ups for the conversation; that would have avoided all the confusion.

Fortunately, this pseudo-advice seemed to be adhered to more and more as the film went on - "it got much better", in other words.

The second half was very exciting, visual effects came to the fore and almost stole the show.

The camerawork, for the most part, was superb - apart from that near-unforgiveable shot of the top of the set early on, the angles and movement were lovely. Coupled with the backdrops, it really did create a sense of epic cinema 1960s style. The corny dialogue (very well played by Caesar and Cleo) helped immensely - especially in the romantic scenes. Both actors played their roles very well.

So a borderline 4 or 5 stars overall.

Here's my focus-group-style-timeline. It shows which stars I was prepared to award during the duration of the movie (bet you've never had a review like this before!):

3--5--43-4----------5--------------

Hmmm - not exactly borderline.

That's because I realised how great the music was at 66% duration.

I made my mind up then that this film was a solid 5-stars all the way - admultosanos' music is the best custom-made music I've ever heard for a TMO movie. Outstanding.

Like the great film composers of the 60s, he managed to make some of the cheesiest dialogue possible into real tear-jerking stuff. I know I could never manage that feat - it was just terrific to hear, and the final vindication of what I've said all along about why people must credit their musicians when they make their films.

So, my final verdict is that this film has its flaws - one major, and a few minor - but, it's the music - without question the best custom-made orchestral musical score on TMO - that has insured this film's place as a classic.

An epic masterpiece!
this movie is so impressive, it really shows that you can make great movies with "the movies". the set dressing are probably the most impressive. all the sets looked different and it made the movie feel a lot less predictable. the VO were great, especially cleopatra herself. I'm looking forward to watching the next part

Do the BBC know about this?, I Claudaus move over.
The history of the story is true also, as a Roman history buff I liked that.
It's an epic.
Well done.

A gorgeous piece of cinema. The sets were huge, elaborate and, at times, daunting. Music painted the flavour of the period, while tantalizing the emotions into a state of awe. And the narrative? The narrative flowed like the bloody Nile itself . . . Certain to be nominated for; best actress ~ Cleopatra, best actor ~ Julius Caesar, best on screen kiss of '07 !?! ~ kudos

Bah, just wrote a great review and the TMO monster ate it.

Excellent movie. Every aspiring TMO movie maker should watch this and see what can be achieved. AS always MGMKid uses backdrops to stunning effect and shows a clear vision and passion.
It speaks volumes about MGMkid's own abilities to direct this movie AND his ability to sell his vision to get so much talented help from everyone else.

I wont say it is flawess, as there are some minor niggles, not using the golden library set for the burning of the library at ALexandria, the romans in red shorts did look slightly odd but kind of makes sense and the opening credits did seem a little long.

Pluses however severely outweigh this including the opening shots of cleopatra herself (O how I would have loved 1 or 2 more shots like that first) solving the "carpet problem", and showing how a movie almost 20 minutes long can fly by and be excellent.

I hope we can encourage LH to give MGMKid special extra disk space (or a REAL hall of fame entry) so MGM can host the entire movie when it is complete.

There's Just One Thing I Have Come To Dislike About This...

It was 19 minutes of PURE GOLD but then you just had to go and make it two parts! I hate that! Why did it have to be two parts? I watch and then i am left to beg for PMs for Part 2 in your endorsement thread... Please, if you are going to make a movie this spectacular, make it one part! :)

This movie is like heroin, I CRAVE MORE!!!!

There is some little imperfection like:
Sometimes we can see on the backstage (black or post)of the set...
Sometimes the screen seems to "jump" because of editing imperfection.

But there is some amazing things here: sets, costumes...
The voice were really good and there is a real work on background sounds that give the movie a real life. The music fit really well to the movie too.
Freecam work was also good.

It make me thinks of all those old movies like Benh hur, Spartacus, The 10 commandement etc...Don't take it bad, it's a compliment :)

A really good movie that desearve to be 1st on the charts.

TMO HAS LONG AWAITED A ANCIENT TIMES MOVIE!

You have brought it to the community and made it #1!

This is not small movie this was a team project with an idea.

An idea to tell the story of Cleopatra.

MUSIC AWESOME along with backdrops, sets you name it you had the best of it!

Awesome! It's nice to see what can be done with this admittedly limited software. I only saw one part that I might have changed in editing to cover the puppet's needless motions. But that aside, it was a brilliant movie that came out very well.

The acting was great, especially from Cleopatra herself. And the MUSIC! It was very reminiscent of the original in the way it carried great scope.

Please PM me for part 2 when it comes out.

Beautiful... simply beautiful!

This is one the films I have been waiting longest for. All that I imagined and more than that was here. This film had everything! A brilliant score that was maybe THE thing that makes this an epic movie. It had fantastic performances from Skintrade, H_fincchiaro, Docontheweb, EthanRunt and the rest of the cast. Especially Skintrade deserves praise for his excellent job on his character. Along with that, everything looked like it probably would have looked like that time in Egypt. I see that it has already recieved lots of reviews and it definitely deserves it. I'm looking very much forward to Part II and hope that it will be just as good.

MGM's long awaited Cleopatra does not fail to please. Gorgeous set design, combined with some great VO acting, and a mind boggling score from Admultosanos, made this movie a joy to watch.

The Good: As I said, the set design, from the backdrops to the prop placement to the costume design, were absolutely gorgeous and helped immensely to give the movie the proper period look and feel. This can not be overstated as it is no small task to present any time period that is not built into TMO, properly. The story was done well, with some nice narration from ItchthusADMR and a lot of needed historical background. MGM also gave the movie that proper epic feel that a movie of this scope and magnitude should. The actors and actresses all did a good job with their roles( H_Finocchiaro in particular) and should be commended for this. Admultosano's beautiful score wonderfully shifts from being in the background where it heightens the mood to being centerstage, allowing the viewer to more fully grasp the epic events that are going on.

The Bad: There was at least one instance of the camera running off set and while on the whole the camera work was not bad, it did not click with me at times and seemed a bit jerky(But this is probably due to personal taste). Also, while his performance and delivery were great, Skintrade's voice just didn't scream Julius Caesar to me. But none of these things detracted at all from the overall movie experience and I bring them up only so that my The Bad section is not completely empty lol.

I cannot wait to see the rest of this epic story because I am sure it will be just as much a joy to watch as this one was. Excellent Job :)

Well done! You obviously put a lot of work into this, particularly in the backdrops. The shooting was ingenuitive, (or however you spell that) there was good choice of music, and the acting all around was well done. (particularly with Julius Caesar)

You had me laughing at the "Overture" part. Reminded me of watching VHS tapes of Lawrence of Arabia, Dr. Zhivago, and King of Kings.

An awesome movie, a few technical shortcomings (showing the the top of the background for example, and a strange distortion in the narrating VO) that are neglectable in face of the amount of work that went into this epic.

Impressive VO work, wonderful intro by IchtusADMR.
And the usual excellent use of backdrops and props.

The zone magazine review (as seen in issue 4)

Well, well, well. It came i pushed play, i was amazed. For starters the movie had some wonderful classy backdrops that really made the film. These backdrops worked so well with the sets that it looked like something from hollywood. Brillant. As i said the backdrops with the sets ( one word, wow), is the key item in the movie. This is setdressing at its best, sets all done with effort and taste. It looked like someting special from the moment it started.
Music was prefect, it suited the movie, so much (just like the backdrops). Plus the cast was wonderful, so wonderful, vo's at its best. Skintrade was diffrent but great. H_fincchiaro put her heart into the role. Super stuff.
Freecam gave us the super views from the sets, showed us the great scenes with great camara work.
If there is one movie you must see on TMO its cleopatra, its the best if not one of the best films on TMO.
ITS AMAZING.

I haven't reviews a movie on TMO for many months now, in fact I have pretty much left for the time being, however when I saw that this movie was finally Online I couldn't resist but pop by to have a look at it. And after watching nineteen minutes of footage I can safelly say that this is the best movie to date that has been Online. You see many people over the past year have tried to recapture the essence of an epic movie in the real world, but unfortunately due to the severe limitations of the game it was highlly unlikelly that anyone could come close to the good old fashioned stuff. This movie of course still doesn't come close, but what it does is sort of capture the essence of an epic movie and try and tell a classic tale through the medium of the TMO. I works dramatically well and despite the movie having the occasional flaw and possibly being just that little bit too long, the movie is an absolute unbirdled success. The movie turns what could have been your average sets into something absolutely magnificent, its very rare a director on this game manages to make a world look so much more believable, you on the other hand seem to have pulled it off with the slightest of ease. I suppose what I most admired about this movie is the fact you can tell that this movie is a labour of love and not some desperate attempt to hit the charts like a lot of movies have recentlly become. This movie is a lot larger than your average movie online, this movie tries to tell an actual story, a classic historical story and it works. I am a big fan of the classic Cleopatra movie and I think this movie pulls the transference off well. Of course there are notable differences and cramming part of the story into nineteen minutes was never going to compare with the original film, but when you compare it to the average histoic movies that come on here you realise how much better your movie is. Add on top of that the fact that the Voice Cast is absolutely incredible and the fact that the actual way you edited works a charm, then you have a TMO classic on your hands and one that will undoubtedly and hopefully reach the top of the charts very shortlly. I think your movies only faults are the fact that the opening, like Ubernewbiw below me, irritated me slightlly. There were odd niggling faults as well, most of which are pointless to pick out, but the biggest I suppose is the fact tha at nineteen minutes long it does start to feel very tired and prolonged after a while. But this is still a great triumph of TMO history and one that I can't wait to see the second part of.

Small things annoyed me about this 'EPIC'. The overture, the edge of set shots and the slow plot. The big things i liked; Great set dressing, some appropiate mods and nice clear VOs. And mostly fitting music. A Great film all round.

This was a great film.
the Story was rich and deep. I'm a big fan of the Rome series on HBO. This seemed to be very influenced by it, yet still kept it's originality with a story that veered from that.
The editing was flawless. not much else i can say about that.
The backdrops and mods were GREAT! you did an awesome job of incorporating them.
the Voice Acting was perfect. The cast is to be commended for such a great job.
Great movie. I can't wait for the sequel

Incredible. The actor's faces looked very much like those that I think were in the original. The story had such detail (script, special FX, animated FX interludes, costumes, make-up, props, camera-angles, backdrops, overlay title sequences & names/credits, and music, I could just keep going on and on) that I felt like I was almost watching the real thing. This was just incredible. Much love and attention was put into this by many talented people.

Sorry I'm late for the big event, my movie at my studio is having technical issues to be resolved, but I'm glad I was able to squeeze some time to arrive!

Wow, that was sipmly astounding! Sure, sure if I wanted to I could pick apart all the points that did not do well with the movie, but not today. The incredible attention to detail was simply inspiring, from the set dressings, to the costumes, to the very beautiful backdrops this movie is surely a display of beautiful artistry.

I cannot say I feel the same way about the plot however, much of it felt irrelevant to me but the excellent voice acting manage to balance out what I felt was a weak storyline element. I can say this however, with much confidence that this movie plays out like a broadway production and I very much enjoy the theme and atmosphere.

Fantastic production, I look forward to part 2.

A true tribute to the Golden Age of filmdom. When I first heard of this project, I was hoping it would be just like this! MGMkid has again recrafted an epic in his own style, while remaining true to the spirit of the original classic film. The dialogue has been rewritten by necessity to accomodate the shorter film length, but was still aptly done. Technically it was as glorious as it was ambitious, with brilliant use of stunning backdrops, perfect editing, and inspired use of the freecam (the flaming city and battle sequences were beautifully handled). If I must make a critique, I did think Cleopatra's VO's were a trifle louder than the others, and Caesar's was a trifle too soft in volume, and if that had been normalized a bit more the aural experience would've been perfect. The music was exhiliarating and matched the epic scope of this endeavor. I also loved the "overture" and "intermission"--that really added to the atmosphere of a true cinematic classic. I await the conclusion.

I finally found out it was released. You did much research, i understand it's hard to do things that are different from what other films have. The detail to your surroundings where great not many sets actually the fewest i have seen in a film but the setup on the blue screen with the back drops and props where excellent. I did how ever find a couple of vo's hard to hear, i heard arrow noises but didn't see any. Overall good job, Please PM when part 2 is out Please.

Damn..... I have just witnessed the Very Best Movie I have ever seen created with this game....
If there is some place that I can download the high res version...This is going into my Movie Collection.
Only MGMkid could have brought all these things together in such a perfect way.
I knew to expect great acting and direction.... and now he has found music that captures the very core of Cleopatra.
I know everyone will beg for the next part, as will I.... But MGM could stop here, knowing that his place is safe in TMO history.

I will have to create another account just so I can give this movie 10 stars...

There has never been a story on TMO that has truly 'captivated' me. But finally, with Clropatra, I felt an intense connection to the characters and a feeling for the plot that surpasses anything I've experienced on TMO. This was an spectacular, breathtaking, and unparalled spiral of emotion and love that had me gripped till the end.

First of all, I have never heard a VO cast that had such a feeling and emotional attatchment to the characters. It was obvious they had a deep respect for the script, and didn't record their lines in haste. H_fincchario seemed bland at first, but when Cleopatra's wit and emotions flared up, I heard a VO performance unlike anything I've witnessed on TMO. Skintrade, on the other hand, has become a TMO household name. His brilliance is expected, and he didn't disappoint with this role. And beyond the stars, everyone else did a fine job laying out some impressive lines.

Ah, the atmosphere. I have never been so entranced by a setting like I was when I watched 'Cleopatra.' The plants, the backdrops, the history...you put together a landscape that has never been touched by a TMO film. It was obvious how much time you put into making this a believable place to spend 20 minutes. Well done!

But what really made this film soar above anything else on this site was the score. Admultosanos created pieces that rank among some of the best movie tracks I've ever heard. The music was perfectly performed and never had a dull moment. His instruments connected with the setting in way I've never seen before, and when Cleopatra saw her city burning, he helped me recieve a truly cinematic feeling. A hearty applause to you, Admultosanos.

There was only one problem I had with the film--the red spiked helmets worn by the Roman soldiers. Those were not really worn by the Romans, but by the Spartans.

I think I've made myself clear that this is the most exceptional creation I've ever seen. You took every aspect of filmmaking, combined them with a beautiful story, and made something truly special. Masterful!

Finally, after much anticipation, Cleopatra is here! And it was just as I expected!

MGM always works wonder with his backdrops and set dressing. And he is quite successful in conveying the time and place in this movie, as he always is.

The story closely mirrors the 1963 film production of Cleopatra almost scene by scene, but unfolds in a completely different world created by the magical hands of MGMkid, and with a completely different dialogue.

Modded costumes were impressive. I particularly loved Cleopatra??s exotic and majestic hairstyles. The Egyptian-looking makeup was quite effective as well.

Overall, this was a very convincing epic production??as good as it gets on TMO. It was fantastic.

Everything about the film was beautifully crafted, and all the PR work was worth it in the end. The set dressing and backdrops are what really make this movie what it is. They give you the feel of the location, and have been made with great elegance. Each scene was crafted with care, and the costumes were out of this world. The VO's were all well-acted with emotion and they were believable, although I found it hard to hear Julius Caesar at times. The plot was flawless, easy to follow and well constructed. The music really fit every scene, and was stunning. Your hard work and effort really shows in this movie, and it really paid off. I would give this film 50 stars if I could, but I'll have to make-do with 5.
Another great job, MGM. Well done!

Wow, this is an accomplishment in the history of the Movies as was The French Democracy, Light and the Dust, and other films of such greatness. Your film conquers the limits we once faced, and it displays the pieces of our future still being unlocked.

With splendid camera work you create kingdoms long gone, powerful. You used very little mods, and yet it seemed as if you had an expansion pack that has not yet been given to the rest of us. Sure you had costumes, but the world was created by the flowerbeds, the backdrops, and the timeless dialog.

Again, your flowing camera work only built on the set design, but were lifted into the air by the music. Well done on that front, and again the music and all elements are so good they flow together to seamlessly create their own world, beyond that of Rome and Egypt, but almost a glimpse into your own imagination. Its amazing what you can create, and what you will create with that potential.

Again, I could jump into some of your flaws but a few showing planks from the blue screen set is minor compared to the overshadowing and underlining skill poured into the film, amazing.

It has to be difficult to review this movie in a cool-headed manner. Cleopatra has been in production for such a long time and expectations were sky high, aided by the most magnificent and admirable PR ever seen on TMO. But a movie is a movie, and when one sits back and clicks on ??play??, it comes down to this: is there anything in that wmv file that will keep our attention?

So with no particular bias, I should say that Cleopatra Part 1 is quite enjoyable! Having just watched the first 15 minutes or so of Joseph Makievizck??s sumptuous Hollywood version, the TMO version by MGMKid felt to be fairly faithful storywise, and in its attention to plot details and characters. Skintrade certainly does an excellent job as Julius Caesar, and the custom soundtrack enhances every scene with the necessary mood and tempo. The set dressing is, as expected, as sumptuous as it gets. Costume design for Ava Turner is gorgeous as well.

Now with my critic??s hat on, I have to say that Cleopatra??s character did not stand out as much one would wish, in this world dominated by men. Instead, the acting felt a bit over the top at times. And with my ??nitpicking?? critic??s hat on, I did see some scaffolding in one of the screens. But no big deal? ;)

All in all an enjoyable story that mirrors the original film, and who would know that it was possible to make such visuals with the meager tools provided? Well, you have proved it to be possible.

This was pretty much top notch real movie quality and I am really in awe at the talent of both you and all the people who have helped make this production possible.

Cleopatra, one of the most breathtaking romance stories ever to be on TMO, yet filled with such action, it is a movie that will appeal to all age groups and to all people, despite which genre they enjoy the most. You really did a fantastic job on this one. What an inspiring film by the famous MGMkid1.

There's really nothing I haven't already said except for set dressings. The entire time, I thought to myself, "How the heck did MGM ever do that?" You barely needed new sets. You made good use of the ones given to you. With your creative use of prop placement and backdrops, you truely made the bluescreen set look like an egyptian palace. The only problem I really had was the door prop. At first I was suprised you were able to pull the use of that off; but I did notice there was no wall to go along with it, and it was somewhat of a clear wall. That was the only thing I could even find to nitpick about this. Otherwise, you were perfect. Anyway, we'll need to have a chat and you're going to teach me some good techniques. :p ;)

This was probably close to the best movie currently on TMO. It was brilliant. The sets were awesome, the actors were excellent and just everything came together so well. You really have a nack for this movie making stuff don't ya? :p Thanks for that 20 minutes of non-stop excellency from MGM.

Never did I know, that one could get such an effect by only using backdrops. You have amazed me MGM. Not just by the effects, not just by the story. But the screenplay in itself, the overall work and effort this movie has unleashed. This is something new to our beloved county, and it's landmark began long before. So I say to thee.

Well done, MGM. :)

WOW, that was da bomb...

Your use of backgrounds and prop placement to create what look like new sets is seemingly astounding.

The musical score was expectedly brilliant. The music came in with great surges of power at the correct moments. It created a great atmosphere.

The VOs were of great variety and near perfect.

The mods and costumes were good, giving a greater authentic feel to the film too and your background knowledge seemed very good.

Intersting to see how the story will develop, no doubt it will be just as huge second time...

Overall, probably the best film of this year, if not ever...

After a long, long, very long wait. Cleopatra is now on the TMO!!!!

Very, Very good job. The voice actors did a very good job in this one. At times it seemed that they were a bit too close to their mics but nothing too bad. You could really feel a sence of emotion in their voices.

The music is amazing. I got the chance to work with Admultosanos once as well. He made the music for one of my movie trailers. He is very good at makeing music and it would be wise to continue using his music in your next movies. Very good music.

The sets were amazing. You did a very good job at mixing sets and backdrops. In some scenes it actually seemed like the desart went on for miles. The costumes were amazing as well. Each character has there own outfit which most other movies don't focus on.

Overall, it is one of the greatest movies I have seen so far on the TMO! Very good job on this one. Can't wait for the next.

MGM I can merely describe my feelings towards your masterpiece as speechless. However I have promised you a long review and to say you deserve one does not do you justice. You have truly surpassed yourself and I would go as far to say that this is the film of the year, even this early on. I am well gob-smacked at how well this has been produced. I haven't been following many of your PR threads in all honesty, I looked at each of them briefly but never acknowledged it or posted until tonight in your premiere thread. Why? Because even back then I truly couldn't find the words to describe what I perceived as epic. But i have come here tonight and I have actually enjoyed myself. Gripped by the fabulousness, which is an understatement, of the movie. I actually want to review this (as I did with Pax Romana) because I knew I was in for a visual delight. If I could draw you to a real life person, then it would be Shakespeare. You are truly the William Shakespeare of TMO. You actually share various traits and the way your movies are produced remind me of the intriguing plays that I have read by him. So once again I will say that I am delighted by the sheer effort put into this movie. If you ask me you actually have a career to make in the film industry as a script writer, director or producer. You are well... a diva at all of them. But anyway down to the lowdown.

Let's start with something which amazed me with this movie. Your Voice Actors. I am amazed by the passion the displayed throughout the movie. I could feel emotional vibes striking off them and felt them go right through to my heart. As the city was burning and Cleopatra and Caesar had a heated argument (See what I did there "heated") I felt Cleopatra's anger throwing a spear through my heart. All the actors were their roles, they sounded just as I imagined the character would. the quality shows that they were enthusiastic and well motivated to have a part in the project. I am not sure who most of the Voice Actors were I haven't reviewed for so long and have forgotten most of the voice database I had collected in my mind. But I remember hearing Roger's voice as Rufio I believe. Sometimes the quality of a few of the mics was a little shoddy but this did not affect that quality one bit. I did however fin that Cleopatra could be shrill at times and as well of striking emotion through my heart, it just went right through me. But one slip up too a near perfect score on the acting front.

Now the mods, the mods. What can I say about them. Well how about Ithcus and Ranger are pure geniuses. They are two of the best modders that community has and you should feel honoured to have such talents as theirs on board. They were just truly amazing. With Ithcus having designed some fantastic costumes for Pilate (Which in all honesty I didn't enjoy) and Ranger with his experience. They provided visuals that have never before been seen here. Maybe in the OIO series but outside that here we are. The mods actually brought back some merry memories of reviewing and viewing Pax Romana. The backdrops, the costumes. I loved them in Pax Romana and it was great to see that you haven't lost your magic touch on backdrops. You had some beautiful views via the backdrops and strategically placed them with ease. The costumes and backdrops just purely amazed me. But the set dressing, something that is throw on the back burner of many movie makers minds was ah it for you. Combined with the backdrops I felt like I was experiencing the beating hit of Egypt. It was just wonderful, I can't think of a complex word to describe them, just... Your visuals using props, setdressing, backdrops and mods still remains unsurpassed by anybody here. Now to say something a little crude that may display my true feelings towards the mods and all, "When I saw the visuals I nearly shat myself, actually i may have done I am too busy trying to get my jaw to close to know for sure."

The story in a word was epic. A very original story. It reminded me of the movie Pilate a great deal. (Maybe it is because Pilate and Caesar are played by the same voice actor but I doubt that is merely it. Maybe the jaw dropping quality of it though.) I very much disliked Pilate to be perfectly honest that is why I failed to leave a review, this is what I had hoped for from Pilate and more. The story resembled Pilate but I got confused during that particular movie. This story although intricately plotted I understood, occasionally i lost concentration but for a mere couple of seconds because it is getting late but no matter how tired I am the story still kept my attention enough to understand it and that is saying something. The word epic for it I still find to be understated, amid the intricate relationships of each character and lovable visuals, this was not simple a mod showcase. I had a plot, which is always hard to achieve with such impressive visuals but you achieved it and what can I say it was an enjoyable story that once again can only be described as epic.

Now the pride and glory of this movie, the music. This was just utterly, uncomprehendingly cool. Samos' work is always great but today, here, now he was at his best. The music coincided seamlessly with the scenes. When Cesar and Cleo kissed passionately, them musics mood changed perfectly. Quickly never the less but it did it quickly but without fail powering emotion. This just shows how well written it is. I can write simply melodies but Samos' is fantastic and I don't know how you told him to do it so well. It was like he had seen the movie several times and wrote music while watching. I was simply seamless. It jingled and jingled, squeaked and squeaked and produced wonderful noises. You have a job in the film industry, Samos should be your musical director. As much as you have a job in the film industry. Samos has one in the musical one.

The characters I adored. They were all so fitting in their costumes which I must congratulate on Judy's fantastic designs. The voice actors suited their purpose and brought these characters to life. I have to say Caesar was the best developed as the main character he would have to be. But he was just a fantastic character, in his military uniform and his authoritarian like voice his actions suited his character, his voice suited his character. Everything just had him written all over. The development of him was well pulled off also.

And so that sums it all up pretty much. An epic fantabalistical film that deserves a high position in the charts. If this was released on Christmas Day it would have been my most enjoyed present. It would also have achieved film of the year. Unfortunately I am not a gypsy and can not see what 2007 still holds but I think this could achieve movie of the year 2007, it deserves to be hot picked and so much more. I think it could even be made into a real movie. Now if i had a big red stamp that read critically acclaimed we can safely say that this would have it stamped on it several times. If this was a card it would be the queen of spades, beats all. This is just beyond perfect, the only thing that brought it down a little was a bit of bad mic quality and a shrill Cleopatra. If I based it on scale of 100 it could safely achieve a 99.5. As I said at the start you have surpassed yourself, better than Pax Romana and the style brought back memories of writing my review for that. I can give you nothing but this review, my congratulations, applause and kudos and perhaps my dedication to reviewing your studio till the day you leave. You have persuaded me via this masterpiece to return from a dormancy of reviewing. I have become elusive in my review strategy and have not reviewed a movie for months you have persuaded me to return. I thank you.

You sure have talent.

It's been a long time since this project was announced, but I have to say, it was worth it. Let's start off with the set design. It was truly remarkable. It should earn an Academy Award (or a Lionhead movie award)! Next, we have th VOs. They were divine. To be honest, they were better than sex! H_Fionncarro (sorry for not spelling it right) is better, in my opinion, then Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra. All the other VOs were perfection as well. The original score was so, so good. It was subtle when it needed to be, and boistrous when it needed to be. It just goes to show what talent there is among the TMO community. Lastly, we get to the direction. You are really one of the greatest directors on TMO. Great job on Part I, MGM, can't wait for the next part.
PS. I love movies with Overtures and Intermissions, I'll have to do one like that some day.

Let me start out by saying that calling this a good movie just does not do it justice. This movie was by far the best film on TMO ever created. After the stunning Pax Romana, I knew that I could count on MGMkid to pack another punch in another ezciting movie. I knew that I could expect stunning visuals, and an amazing script.
The Script to the movie is the part of the movie that could either make or break the fundamental Roman element. You pulled it off nicely. It made sense, flowed clearly from scene to scene, and never felt like awkward dialogue.
The VO's cast was choosen with true skill. I was amazed that each voice actor was able to pull off each and every voice over with such clarity that I could understand every single word spoken.
The backdrops and set dressing as usual, brought your films to life. I have never seen such beauty in a TMO film. You know just where to place the props, and just which backdrops to use.
Mods and costumes were incredible. The outfits for Cleopatra were to die for, and should be on display in a botique. They were stunning. The roman outfits were so life like that I was speechless during the film. Great job!
Freecam was used brilliently during the entire movie. I have seen some amazing uses of freecam in the 100's of movies I have watched, and this is right up there with some of the best. Great use of freecam and fire together to create the effect of a mass battle and the burning of a city. It was awe-inspiring.
The music was so good that I feel like I should get the soundtrack on my IPod. I was blown away by the masterful composer that was able to bring to life the romance in the movie and still hold the undertones of deception and war. Truely, truley amazing.
Without some editing that shows great skill on your part, this movie woulnd;t have been that good. You were able to put together a 20 min films that is only part I of what is sure to become a legend in the TMO history of moviemaking. The scenes flowed, made sense, were used to thier full potential and everything. I was impressed greatly by the editing!
The truth is that if this where entered into one of my Archaic Award shows, it would win every award. So for that reason, I proudly for the first time ever, present Cleopatra Part I with the Archaic Award for Outstanding Achievement in Every Field. This is a great honor that I know you will treasure with great care.
The conclude this epic review, I will let you know that I will be recommending this films to others and that I look forward to seeing more masterpieces from you. Continue inspiring others and making some of the best movie ever!

That was VERY good. A true TMO classic. I hope the second part goes aswell as this. The story was very original and the music went absolutely perfect!
One thing that made me love this movie so much was the freecam. One word STUNNING!

I absolutely adored those backdrops and costumes they were used just perfect. At one point I thought they were actual scenes. Incredible.

The title sequences could have been spiced up a bit but apart from that an absolutely outstanding movie that will no doubt reach the top 20 in the charts.

What a brilliant first part of an Epic! This movie is a real masterpiece of a monumental movie. The great story of Cleopatra was finaly brought up on the big screen of TMO. All sets, sceneries, props and costumes are the finest I've ever saw. The great cast of Ava Turner, Burt Douglas and Richard Bourbon played their roles so excellent that they will be getting an Oscar this year.
The epic original soundtrack is still in my head and it fitted perfectly into the movie. What can I say more, Ladies and Gentlemen bring up the champagne for the best movie of the year! Two thumbs up from me! :)

Wow Where to begin.

First of all the sets were spectacular and unrecognizable as anything we have seen in the movies to date. Congratulations on your use of set dressings.

Costumes: Congratulations toall the modders whoworked on this the costumes were fantastic from the soldiers down to the ornamentation for cleopatras hair.

Music: Easily the bestthing in this movie. The feel was epic and awe inspiring, I felt like I was sitting down to watch lawrence of arabia or some other classic materpiece during the overture.

Voice Acting: Most of the voices were very clear, and easy to understand.
The emotional Cleopatra, partnered well with the ever calm and distinguished voice of julius Ceaser. And No sound Bug! That in itself is impressive!

Script: The script was well written. The references to the Gods Of Rome and Egypt were a nice touch. There were several witty little barbs hidden in the dialogue as well. It had a vintage hollywood feel to it.

Cinematography: Grand sweeping shots and closeups help set the mood.
There were only a few times I had wished the camera would stop moving, including one shot that got just a hint of scaffolding in it. But that will make for trivia later on, and to has sort of an old time hollywood feel in it.

Battle: The battle sequences were well done and reminded me of watching a play, the action is prtrayed through an ominous air of tension. The beating ofdrums and the shooting flames. The fire arrows were a nice touch.
Unfortunately the movies wasdesigned to use guns in combat. as can be seen by the soldiers stance. Onalds weapons pack could be used here to place swords and the like in the hands of the soldiers. Who knows maybe he could even design some spears you could use.

This movie was hyped beyond anything the Movies has ever seen... And.

Well in Hollywood that would be a recipe for failure. But with MGMKID it is a recipe for stunning success. I'll bet Lionhead when they released this game, did not see anything of this nature coming.

This movie is epic, worth all the hype and then some. If you miss the days of classic hollywood, the days when actors and actresses had fun making thier movies. The days when story drove films... Watch this movie.

This should make MGM our first Virtual millionare with the VC's it will rake in.

Bravo! Bravo! , An incredible opening to a facinating Epic! You really outdone yourself here MGM! , From you're careful music arrangement to the ever brilliant Scenery & Props. You made this film your own and you made the world seem breathable and alive. I must say you are probably the King of Backdrops as I first noticed in Pax Romana! You have an undeniable talent for choosing and using some of the best looking backdrops ever. What's even more important is they mesh perfectly with each scene and seem totally appropriate. This only enhances the films scenery and feel.

Overall a great film that I enjoyed so much!!, the VO's were great and featured some of the best confrontational lines I have yet seen, they were entertaining and full of life. Cleopatra herself, oh boy oh boy, that was one foxy lady who Had a different style every day.The romance, action and drama were brilliantly told with a thrilling musical score.

To sum this first part off I would say , Elegant,Entertaining,Fantastic,Stupendous,Fabulous,Wonderfull,Sexy, and Nuketastic!!!!!!!!! Looking forward to the Second Part.

Visually sumptuous and full of technicolor wonder, Cleopatra hearkens back to the annals of classic holiday with a contemporary, auteurist sensibility pervading throughout. That TheMGMKid is able to make this oft-told story his own informs us of his abilities as a cinema maestro; that it is sweepingly romantic, dazzling to behold, epic in its scope, and startling in its emotional power testifies to the artistry that has lived on in all his films, but comes to its full fruition here. As always from this director, set design and visual decor paint in thick, luscious strokes, this time towering over anything that has been done in TMO before or probably since, creating a very palpable sense of Egyptian and Roman antiquity none of us could have ever though possible. And with the freecam, MGM's canvas has expanded to new depths; he uses this camera to create visuals that match the granduer of his subject.

Special notice should also be given to the voice cast, who bring to their roles a sense of levity and granduer befitting MGM's handling of such a period of history. Skintrade creates a surprisingly gruff yet affectionate Antony while H_finocchiaro stands out as the perfect Cleopatra. Their passion, of course, just burns when played alongside that soaring soundtrack -- which is, just like everything else in the movie, exceptional.

A terrific film, through and through, and a masterpiece I cannot wait to see completed.

I really enjoyed this!! It was a very good story, the music score was very impressive and really added to the entertainment!! the voice-cast was superb, everyone acted beautifully!!! Well, the long wait is over, for the moment, and the movie was great.

The film is another classic of Imperial International, sadly it doesn't match the standards of previous works, Pax Romana, for instance, but that is truelly hard to beat.

The voice work is top notch, the casting is magnificent and the musci, well, that's a whole other paragraph.

The sets look beautiful, the costumes are works of art and the camerawork, whilst sometimes suffering from edge-of-setitus, and a little jittery, it works well and handles the pace and tone.

The music is magnificent, when the crescendo occurs at the first time Cleo and Caeser kiss, and then the music comes back in a full blown romantic way, it brings a smile to my face, music in films should have this effect, but rarely do.

The script is tight, works well, and is clearly focused, however some of the acing of dialogue is slightly off.

The legend lives on in this great film, and i think the overture and intermission ideas are great, long live classic cinema. Long live the Cleopatra series.

Bravo!
