Film Description
Samara has lived a long, long life and in one fateful night finds her soulmate, but because of who she is, has to give him up against her will. Fights, a car chase and love are all in FINAL HOURS. I hope that even though it is 22mins long someone will watch it and hopefully enjoy it.

Most of the music comes from Newgrounds and I would like to thank the artists that upload their music for others to enjoy.

Well - this was good quality writing all the way through. Some technical problems, such as an early shot where the camera passes through solid objects, and a car chase scene in which the top of a moving backdrop is visible.

So, with about 2 minutes to go, this was a safe 4-stars. A very well told story with nice action editing. The music didn't always fit, lush romantic themes when she's going around biting people didn't work for me. But the heavy metal was good when the action kicked off.

Then came the ending - great writing here, a beautifully atmospheric and appropriate ending to the film. It's that last scene which makes this a 5-star film in my book. Dare I say that with some good VO, this could have been an absolutely outstanding film.

Wonderfull story. Amazing, best 22 minutes I've ever spent sitting around.

A wonderfully told story, with many diffrent emotions thoughout. The music fit prefectly, the editiing was wonderful. A 5-star for sure.

The ending itself was wonderful. (If it was a story I made, I'd have the guy look back and ruin it..glad you didn't) I keep finding myself amazing what great editing and a story can do for this game. It was a great movie.

You??ve made and outstanding, original, and compelling story. I think you used what the game gave you (sets and fashions) to great effect for the flashback scenes. Plus, although you used several of the same scenes throughout the movie, you angled them differently so that they always seemed fresh. There is nothing worse than watching movies with repetitive scenes, angles or music. Nice job avoiding the ??see it before?? feeling. This is an awesome film with a great ending.

Fantastic work mate! It looks like You put a lot of your heart (ops ;) and time to do it. Only few sounds does now keep high quality, like blood's suck (sounds funny;) and fight's yelling. But overall Your movie is really worth to watch.

AMAZING!!!

such a unique story, It's a very special movie! the beginning, when Samara told us about her life in the different decades was very entertaining and made me feel like I knew the character. I really felt with her through the whole movie. my eyes were glued to the screen, there was not one boring moment in this 22 minutes and 53 secs long movie. the lenght didn't bother me, in fact, I only wanted it to last longer.
I just realised there was no VO in this movie, and I never even thought about it when I watched the movie, that is very well done! also the music was perfect

This is to me a tmo cult-classic and one of my favorite tmo-movies

Bravo! Superb movie. This movie featured great direction and use of the free cam. The main character was well defined and the depth of the story telling was beyond what you usually see on TMO. The action scenes were clear and concise continuity wise which can be a major challenge in an action flick.

I would love to see you recruit some voice talent and produce a VO version. It would be destined to be a true TMO classic.

This is a film that grew on me as it continued and drew closer to the climax. I was feeling it drag abit at first, but it really came alive as it reached the center portion of the story.

The story here is grand, and technically this is extremely well put together. While voice-overs are always going to be better, the subtitles were sufficient and mostly stayed on screen long enough. I think the strongest aspect of this film is how it flows from scene to scene, and from shot to shot. The effect used to show the vampires dying was also quite good. I felt a few moments where suspension-of-disbelief waivered (I think partly because I find the karate scenes The Movies provides to be a bit goofy), but nothing that took me out of the film.

So, in short... A great story, very nicely edited, and well-chosen music!
Keep it up!

Excellent movie. Long, but worth sitting through. Great music. (the subtitles went by too fast so one might have to drecrease play speed to read them more easily) Might have been beter off using voice actors instead of subtitles in this case. Action & scene selection was great. Costuming and make-up was also great. Special FX and sound was too. Overall a great film.

What a movie!!!!!!!!
All you viewers out there.. this guy knows how to make movies effectively. This movie is surely a long one, but for sure its worth your time. The movie has a wonderful soundtrack, great cameras, some great characters, effecient use of sets and scenes in The Movies, great dialogue, excellent story, and most of all, a very suited ending. It will make some cry.
Man, get on with your work, make epic movie like these. You didnt make me once realize during the movie that it was made through a limited number of scenes which the game provides. It almost had the Hollywood touch to it.
My personal favourite.
Keep Rocking

** MoMc SCORE = 4.1 **

A vampire saga spanning centuries, in the vein of Anne Rice??s novels. I found the story to be on and off interesting, but the movie techniques and editing didn??t contribute a lot to hold my attention though. I would have expected a movie about vampires made with the expansion pack to be much more daring in the camera angles, and also better editing and sound effects ?? especially for a movie of this length.

What holds this movie together is definitely the story of immortal vampires and hunters, and the backbone narrative that presents all the flashbacks until we join the present, which is coherent and well designed. Unfortunately given the lack of editing and sound effects, I found myself often drifting away from the movie. The music had a background quality to it, sometimes fitting sometimes not, but not enhancing the plot as it could have. There??s no doubt this movie makes good use of the existing sets and scenes to weave a solid story together, and with I must say an exceptional ending. But I was looking for that extra something to spice it up, but I never found it. Don??t get me wrong, as this is a solid movie, but it felt lacking a bit on the technical side.

Not a huge fan of romaction (romance+action) but that was good. If you remade it with voice-overs I'd give it a 5.

MoMc Review
4.7

Excellent use of music, great camera angles. The subtitles were done well, with only a few typos and generally good timing, but this movie could have been even better with some high quality voice actors. The script was generally good, especially the narrative sections, but some of the dialogue could have been improved. The action/fight scene in the middle was fairly good though suffered from a few minor editing issues (e.g. the last 2 frames of the "Ready kung fu" scene) and may have benefitted from the use of some non-standard camera-work.

The story built well towards the climax, which also played out nicely. The epilogue was also done very well. The use of backdrops for the sunset/sunrise scenes had room for improvement. I liked the female lead character; I think she was developed well and had a believable personality. Overall, I thought this was an excellent movie with the highlight being the strong character-driven storyline. All the best.

*review for the review trader*

this movie was great! i mean, i can see that you put a ton of work into it. but it did drag a little. i mean it couldve been like 7 mins shorter and would have gotten the same point across. but it was still very well done nonetheless. i know how hard it is to make a movie that long, but without vo's it is a bit empty, and it could lose ppls interest. well it was still easily deserving of a 5. well great job on the movie and i hope to see more from you in the future!

please check out my movie, the dangerous adventures of troublin vo!

Superb use of scenes, nifty vampire deaths, an outstanding car chase, a very well-meaning story...

There's too much dedication and just plain good stuff on display here to give this flick anything but five stars.

That "Final Hours" takes every one of its almost 23 minutes and puts them to use, and is full, every minute, of vampire movie themes tht we've all come to know and love, is both the movie's shining highlight and its biggest problem.

There isn't much on display here that screams originality - more a mishmash of genre standards that most will recognize, something many call "homage" - but on the other hand, let's give credit where it's due to DavidWWW, who has clearly worked hard here to string those themes together, for the most part, successfully and engagingly. He has performed a dozen neat little tricks to make the Movies game conform to his vision and not the other way around.

Some (gaping) plot holes kicked a bit of a dent in my suspension of disbelief overall, but this is, after all, a vampire flick, and I'm mindful of creative license and how silly and pretentious it is for me to be discussing "suspension of disbelief" on this one, anyway, BUT... no investigation of a hit-and-run homicide? Ouch. A couple of deus ex machina moments - love at first sight with a the fifth stranger that week from a bar; how easy finding the vamp on the run was; and of course, the aforementioned homicide...

My take on the use of creative scene selection and camera work is double-edged, too. There were some outstanding, repeat --outstanding-- uses of scenes, editing, and angles to achieve the sense of speed or tension, etc., but just as often, I found that the film contained default scenes from the game, and worse, in scenes that everyone who has made a few films recognizes. It struck me as odd that David put so much clear attention to detail into filming certain scenes, while others felt neglected. I know it's extraordinarily time-consuming to reset the camera and make something original out of every default scene, especially on a longer film - I'm doing it right now with my next "Stir" film, and I sometimes need as many as a dozen scenes to make a five-second shot (which means an hour, sometimes two, to edit a single five-second shot all the way to the can), but you made some scenes "new" and not others, and it showed. The scenes you free-cammed were, overall, --outstanding--, and I guess I just wanted that level of "newness" to show throughout.

And last, voice. Voice, voice, voice, voice. So many willing actors here at TMO, and SO much depth to be added to your nifty little flick with the right voices. Mayhaps in the future, you'll consider re-releasing this one with a full voice cast - I've seen others do it with their films (and did it myself with my first film), and be quite successful. I'll even VO for you if you ever need me and the part and I can do one another justice. ;)

All that said, David, you should be very, very proud of what you achieved here with "Final Hours". Like I said at the top of the review, there's just too much hard work and dedication and just plain good stuff on display here to give this flick anything but five stars. And having looked at the progression of your films over these months, I see that you keep improving, and improving, and improving, and improving. Lord knows what you'll come up with next, but invite me to its premiere. I wouldn't miss it.

And film on, fellow filmaholic, film on.

22 mins is a long time for subs but since they are placed mostly good it wasn`t a problem. I like the story telling and time shifts. A vampire that got it`s heart moved by a surgeon. Now thats something I´ve never heard before. Nice idea and creative! Good fights and effects! Nice use of customs. Good use of music! Nice idea how you displayed the waiting till the sun goes down in the 17th min. This movie got me entertained till the end nice done!! The end is just great!!! What a great story. Well written. An appreciated invitation to observe the 'lives' of Samara and to do so without judging her. There was one spot where the music was not suitable (in the bedroom when confronted), but other than that the music was very contributing. Things flowed smoothly and quickly. Super death scenes! What a masterpiece you can be most proud of! === K4 ===

Critics Center Review

Apologies for my brief review, I am trying to get through as many movies as humanly possible today and so my reviews are relatively short. Now then this was a very, very good movie, a flawed one almost certainlly, but still nonetheless a throughlyl entertaining movie. Okay, I've noticed in most reviews that many people are complaining about the subtitles, I say you ignore them as I myself have made movies with purely subtitles and they still get decent enough reviews, in fact it shows you as a more talented moviemaker to use subtitles than to simply take the easy option and use VO's. Now then this was a bizarre little story, a mizture of the good old vampire movie with romance! I never expected this would work but suprising it did more than work it worked with absolute style! The movie I suppose is flawed because it is quite overlong in places, 22 minutes is a long time for any movie and I just felt the plot had been stretched a tad too thin by the end of the movie. However this does not overshadow the quality of a throughly good movie with some nice skill behind it. Well done, a great five star rating for you.

You should send this movie to MGM, or Paramount, im telling you it would be a BLOCKBUSTER!!!!! The soundtrack was absolutely PERECT! The Special Effects were second to none, and AWESOME!!! I cant say enough about this movie, i was worried when i saw the length, but ill tell you what, this movie was worth EVERY MINUTE of my time!!!!! Im bookmarking this movie, AND your studio. I vant to sark your blood.

VO/subbies: 8/10: Not to bad, but nothing great. Technically proficient.

Flow: 6/10: I felt the movie was way too long for a subtitled only movie. Make a shorter film, or use VO actors.

Editing: 8/10: pretty good editing, nice use of free cam during the fight scenes.

Set dressing: 7/10: It was good that use tried, but some of the props seemed a little out of place.

WOW Factor: 6/10: Very hard to watch again, good movie, but the subtitles only makes it hard.

score:35/50: 3.5/5: 3 stars; A GOOD Film.

Great movie you have here David. You've managed to come up with a very unique and interesting story and presented it very well. It's a shame there were no voice overs, but I realise that on TMO, finding one woman to do a VO for you can be hard, let alone filling an almost all-female cast! You obviously put a lot of time into this. There was some good set dressing and a few custom items that I haven't seen before. How did you manage to go to 22 minutes without the sound synch bug smashing you?
It's hard to explain, but I think some of the shots felt too ... scripted. I know it sounds stupid to say that, given the nature of this game and the limitations of the pre-scripted scenes, but I have seen movies on here in which the scenes seem like they were made specifically for the film - somewhere between the camera angles and the props is what does it, I think. I'm no master film maker, so I hope you understand I'm just giving you my take on it.
I loved the vampire death special effect - brilliantly done. The music was good and you managed to adjust it to suit each phase of the movie.
Most movies this length struggle for attention, because people don't like to sit through them. The fact that this one has picked up as many reviews as it has is testament to its quality. Well done.

This movie was a little too long for me, especially because it was without VO's.
But that is my only really complaint, besides of small things. It has a great story that you tell in an interesting way. I like the way that you mix genres, and you've really suceeded in that. This is a quite creative movie in my eyes.
I also liked the ending.

It was like a mix between Interview With A Vampire, Underworld, and Gone With The Wind which are all great movies.
Lets start with the story. All though there were vampires movies like this, I believe that this one had differnt feel to it that made it different and intresting to watch. I liked the idea of showing what Samara did in her past life and how it moved into todays world. The entire vampire clan was good too. And I liked the leader of the clan. I also liked the way the vampires died. That was creative. The music was good as well and the mix of drama and action really made this movie worth watching.

Overall, it is probley the best vampire movie on the TMO.

A Critic's Center Review:

Quite a noriginal masterpiece. Honestly I never thought anyone could possibly ever turn some hooror type of a plot to a love story...and you did it. I loved the sets and the set dressings at times. Your music was excellent and the costumes all matched perfectly. Awesome job. This was one to definitely watch; and I may possibly watch it again.

And another thing I wanted to touch on before I ended this review. I will not lie to you and tell you that this didn't need VOs. It definitely did...but what I wanted to compliment you on is your excellent ability to make the subtitles feel as if they were VOs rather than "blah blah blah blah blah". After a while watching, I forgot that nobody was talking to me! But I think this film would just be super freakin awesome if it did consist of VOs. I think they would set the mood a little more and add to the masterpiece.

Overall I just wanted to tell you that you did a fabulous job. Five stars all the way. This is in fact a masterpiece, as I've sen three times already, and should be nominated for a hotpick. Just work on those VOs, but so far, you've got the subs down.

Five stars! Bravo

Length of the movie didn't really feel like a problem for me. Plenty of great action sequences. Good beginning and ending. Had you had the whole movie like you wanted to it most likely would've filled in the gaps.

Really good movie I enjoyed it. The subtitles were placed well and easy to read. I liked your music choice and I thought it was set at perfect volume. The set dressing was excellent. Good story, I do enjoy "narrative" movies. I liked the scenes where the girls beat up the guys. Nice work!
