Plot/Storyline: The characters in this story are based off the popular video game series in look, feel, and name. Bald - barcode - Agent 47 - all the elements are there. So we start off with points off for originality. The storyline is a little more original. For all of those that split up movies into two parts, this is an excellent example of how a two-part movie should be done where this film is able to stand alone on its own. This is an excellent introductory film which gives us some good character development and excellent background story. The only ambiguous character so far is the Agent determined to bring the Hitman down.

Editing: There are movies which come along and makes you wonder what game you are using to make the movies. The first that I had this feeling with was when i saw Oh its On 2. This is the next movie that gave me that feeling. The editing is remarkable in this film. The use of freecam is more than just the spinning and zooming pan shots, but also used to give the impression of some totally different sets with the camera shots and the customized set dressings. Every scene looks as if it was in that locale - the hospital, Morocco, etc... This was some unbelievable work on the set design combining backdrops, camera work, and props.

The artistic style of this movie is incredible and topped off with being well scored with an excellent soundtrack. The voiceovers were done well. The subtitles went by a little fast at times and had the usual problems with translation - but again I am glad for them or else the non-French speakers would be lost. Points are lost in the area of music as you did not credit the custom music used.

Overall: This had the potential for being one of my perfect score movies - but lost points for originality and music credits. Aside from that. This is a remarkable film, by far the best work from your studio I have seen. This was an incredible artistic display with a captivating story that will have all of your viewers back waiting for part 2. Great Job. Highly recommended Film. A must see. This film receives Green Glades Studios Diamond in the Rough Award.

What really makes this movie amazing is the insane amount of work, creativity and attention you poured into the directing. In fact, I didn't even see a familiar set in the whole movie - you varied and dressed the sets with unlimited imagination, to show a hospital, an ambulance car, an operating room, a hotel lobby in the Pacific... fantastic! (There's only one place what I didn't like: the overview of the hospital - where I could see the walls of the surrounding houses - wasn't very convincing.) Even the "regular" sets are dressed and changed, and you show us from new angles, so they felt fresh and exciting again. This level of craftmanship applies to the costumes, to make-up... everything. The freecam use is one of the most imaginative I've seen before, just es the editing of the action scenes. I was starting to pat myself on the back that I'm not so bad at making action movies, but now I realized that I'm only at the beginning of a long path... This movies is full of ingenious ideas I never considered. The shotgun shot through the window? The escape from the dark and burning library? The great "slideshow" of Hitman diguises at the end? ... I could continue forever.
The sound and the music were terrific, too. (Though using the Vangelis music from Blase Runnder was a bit brave, perhaps.)
I must admit that for me the weakest part was the story. It was quite confusing, due to the constant leaps of the timeline and the number of characters that I couldn't keep track of. Perhaps that's only because I didn't play with the Hitman games. Also, some of the dialogues were a little rough. (I can't believe that someone says that "I'm unlucky, there is really somebody who wants my death!" while finding himself trapped in a dark library and must run for his life.)
But these are only minor nitpicks. I'm totally washed away by the technical excellence of this film. This is something which everyone has to see who wants to make action movies!

Critics Center Review

OPENING: I personally have never played the Hitman games at all, I know a lot about them, my friends are obsessed with the game, but it is just something I have never got round to playing. Thankfully this doesn't try and keep the people who have never played the games before in the dark, sure I suppose a brief bit of background knowledge as to the genesis of Agent 47 would be a nice touch, but then again ou have tried to do this hear and to a great effect. This is a very good and interesting movie, from the superbly amazing free cam shots to the detailed little plot, it all fit together very neatly. What I suppose I enjoyed most about the movie was the fact that despite it being quite a long movie, it never appeared to be long, in fact the 13 minutes just flew by in my eyes and I was suprised when it was all over. This movie thankfully doesn't stand around wasting time and treading water, the movie gtes down and dirty with the entertainment factor. This also has an introduction that was suprisingly brilliant, sure it is a small part of the movie, but I adored the way you did the ambulance scene tied in beautifully with flashbacks. It just made the scene seem all the more entertaining. And to be frank the beauty of the movie just grew on from there. The movie had some of the best free cam shots I have seen so far, the camera going in place of the actual person giving a point of view shot, the quick flashes of free cam shaking as Agent 46 was shaking, oh it was all so brilliantly executed, I loved your free cam shots. What unfortunately made your movies quality decrease a little bit was the fact that the VO's weren't exactly up to te highest standard they could have been, can't understand French myself but they didn't sound very good, and the dialogue itself wasn't very brilliant either. However, this movie earns its high movie percentage from being an extremely entertaining and action packed movie, I loved it, I may not know much about the Hitman series, but this movie has lit up some part of me that wants to see the games now, damn you now I have to find copies and pay for them!

PLOT: Okay plotwise this worked for me despite me being a complete novice on the Hitman series. The plot was very well rounded and had me intrigued for the entire film, I was curious as to what was going on, who was who etc. You also managed to make the characters always interesting and I suppose more than 2 dimensional cardboard cut outs. Here your lead, Agent 47 is always dark, mysterious and yet captivating. Sure many people will complain he doesn't have much development or his personality is never one hundred percent clear, but to be honest I don't think any of that matters. 47 is a killer, one of the best of his kind, he has to be able to adapt, to be mysterious, by giving him a defining personality it would make his character less believable than he is. The plot here was a very good one, told very well as well.

EDITING: Now this was definately your movies defining point, the editing was absolutely stunning. As I keep saying your free cam work was absolutely amazing, but the editing didn't stop at the free cam, you managed to make the entire movie have a grainy quality. Not the smooth flowing scenes that people have come to expect, you have taken a grittier route, the camera quickly flits between characters, you give brief flashes of past scenes, you never do a smooth free cam shot, you get down and dirty and it makes the movie in total have a better quality. While many people will complain that at times the movie can be disorientating, I found it better. This is the type of movie I believe I will have to watch at least twice to get the full impact of the editing. The movies running time was done to perfection, you never underplayed the film or overplayed it, the thirteen minutes ran smoothly but gave the scenes enough time to breave.

MUSIC: Music wise this was another aspect that your movie picked up on perfectlly, I suppose what was so nicelly done about your music track choices was the simple fact that it was never in your face constantly. The music played in the background while you let the dialogue and action do the talking. But the music we could here was a treat, all of it was custom music (at least I didn't recognise any of the in-game tracks) and it played very well with the scenes. I also appreciated the fact that you could have silence in your film, many moviemakers fail in the music section because they lead onto one track from another without a seconds break. I like the occasional silence in the movie, it shows power and there were very brief moments that you used silence to very great effect.

DIALOGUE: Unfortunately I suppose the dialogue was your weakest area. While the dialogue for the most part was quite good, the VO's themselves were flawed and not very good sounding. I appreciated the fact that you had subtitles for the English viewers and I suppose the VO's were a bit of a background blur because I was reading the subtitles instead, but the unfortunate fact is that the VO's just sounded a bit nasty. Perhaps they were intentionally meant to sound that way, but I just found them sounding a bit too gruff and a bit too irritating at times. I can't be overlly picky over this fact because I wasn't really meant to listen to it. The other unfortunate thing is that there was the occasion clunky piece of dialogue that I couldn't avoid from mentioninng. While this all came about very, very rarely there were moments the dialogue came close to cringe worthy. The subitltes also had a few spelling mistakes but since English is not your native language I was willing to forgive that fact.

OVERALL: Overall Hitman Part 1 was an extremely entertaining movie and I am glad that I have finally gotten round to watching it. I suppose fans of Hitman will adore this because I am a novice to the series and I very much enjoyed it. Liked the fact you didn't assume everyone had played the games before either, the plot was intense and gripping, the editing simply wonderful and the music very neatly done. The dialogue wasn't up to the highest standard, but the action more than made up for this. A very good and exciting movie, liked it very much, I read this is your last movie, a shame, would have liked to have seen some more of these from your hands.

FINAL WORDS: A thrilling movie that will appeal to non-Hitman fans as well as Hitman fans.

MOVIE PERCENTAGE: 87%

A wise man once said that before you criticize someone, walk a mile in his shoes. This mile is a journey not to be missed. Hitman begins, and ends, here.

This movie shares the same high quality as the Bambi is Running series, sharing the same superb set design. With the addition of freecam there are some truly brilliant camera shots here, though a pity about a few instances of freecam abuse also.

The tone of voice in the VO's was very good, and the voices suited their characters. However the sound quality in the VO's was not so good, most of the voices had a grating sound in the background that quickly became annoying to listen to. The use of music was excellent.

The plot was very good. Although it draws concepts from a variety of well-hashed stories, this movie puts them together into a unique and interesting story. The way that the plot unfolds in the present and the past is an example of very good storytelling technique. The lead characters is portrayed excellently, though perhaps he is missing a little depth in his personality.

The subs were done well. There were a few instances where they may have benefitted from being proofread by a native English speaker before release. Also note that during camera pans the subs smear across the screen and become almost unreadable (due to the low resolution).

Overall, I thought that this was a superb movie, combining many great features together into a compelling tale. The only problem is -- we want part 2! All the best for the future.

* Story/Plot - 7/10:
I'll give you credit for creating an interesting story/plot, but the whole thing to me was confusing. I felt like I lost part of what was happening.
* Originality - 6/10:
Though an original plot, you do not have an original character.
* VOs/Subs - 8/10:
You have really good VOs. They were outstanding, but you could've had a better translation. There were some words mistranslated and some misspellings.
* Editing - 7/10:
The editing was pretty well done. Good use of mods and such, but the use of FreeCam was a little much. Some parts made me wonder why you even used FreeCam for a certain scene. It was a little distracting at times.
* Enjoyment Factor - 7/10:
An enjoyable film, just not exactly to my taste. I usually love espinage thrillers or these type of movies, but this one didn't seem to grab me all that much. But it was a good movie.
* Overall - 35/50:
A good movie overall. I felt that there good be some tweeking to make it outstanding, but good movie.

So much style in this movie, from the camera angles to the hitman's montage at the end. A great story, it's just that the style overpowers it. The hitman character looks great, you did a good job with starmaker, as well as with the other characters. Clever prop use, as well as mod use. I really enjoyed it, but the story lost me at sometimes. Very well made, entertaining movie.

Another bug in this website. There's NO WAY that was 14 minutes ...

I`m not sure I understood all of it - but, to be honest, if I turned the sound off and if there were no subtitles (some of these need improved translation anyway) it would still get 5 stars.

The camerawork was beyond brilliant - inspirational, in fact. I`ll be borrowing some of these moves during my Urban Warrior films.

The V.O. was clear and well acted by all the cast (only a few major pops in the mic).

The score was well chosen, and I`m pleased you've shown us whose albums to buy. That Van Gelis one is a favourite of mine from Blade Runner.

The sets were ... [speechless] ... but the level of detail in terms of the story was superb too. For instance, we had a hospital with beds on the stairwell suggesting problems with the local NHS. Not needed for the story, but enhances it no end by its prescence.

I liked what happened after the credits as well.

Flawlessly paced throughout - this is an outstanding film.

I know very little about the game, but this was an excellent film.
Enigmatic characters, gripping plot and excellent VO's all made this a pleasure to watch.

The editing was truely amazing, I loved the opening ambulance scene.
The VO's were also excellent (although my French is a littly rusty so thank God for the subtitles!)
The sound track was also excellent as was the use of sound effects, both enhanced the atmosphere of the film and reflected the onscreen action perfectly.

This had genuine cinematic feel all the way through.
An excellent movie with oustanding editing.

An Exhilarating 14 mins!

editing 20/20 The editing was perfect, there were no problems, and you did a great job with freecam.

vo/subtitles 18/20 The dialogue was good, but at times the subtitles moved too fast, but for the most part they were good.

Music 10/10 The music was great, it made the movie a lot better, and it fit in perfectly with what was happening in the movie.

plot 40/40 The plot was amazing, I really don't have anything negative to say about, or anything that needs improvement, it was perfect.

originality 10/10 This was a great, original idea for a movie, and you executed it perfectly.

Overall: 98/100

A captivating flick with a lot to boast!

HITS:
I was very impressed at how you overcame the limits of the game in order to perfectly translate your creativity into this highly-stylized movie! There were scenes in the movie where I was just thinking "How the hell was this done?", and that's a very good thing! The editing was also exceptional as well, even if, at times, some shots felt rushed and too "sudden". For the most part, you were able to increase the intensity of your scenes through these free-cam shots, such as the library scene. The soundtrack was top-notch, and made the movie that much more enjoyable.

MISSES:
Like I mentioned, very few of the camera shots felt really rushed, consequently causing a bit of confusion in some parts. There were also a few places where I felt the subtitles went by a bit too fast, which I think contributed to how puzzled I was during certain scenes.

OVERALL: I'm glad I checked this movie out, and was able to admire how much work you obviously put forth here! Great work.

A perfect adaption of Codename 47's earlier missions. You are obviously a large fan of the series (using the real names of Ort Meyer and Franz Fuchs) as well as the subtle 'Ave Maria' Blood Money reference.

Loyalty to the Hotman series aside, this was also a very well made film, particular kudos for the opening scene in the back of the ambulance. The voiceover/subtitles were good and the scenes well shot. Good job!

It's nice to see a popular gaming character turing into a "movie". The subtitles were perfectly timed ( Great for people who don't really speak the language. And the music was well done. Another thing is how you filled the gaps of hitman with your personally speculations. 5 stars

Première impression : Wouhahou, trop cool stunt and effects !!

also good improvisation for the hospital. i also think the soundtrack was alright. i can see much work has gone into this.

Honestly, I had no idea what was going on or who was who. The plot was very confusing and I thought you could have made us understand a little more. The one thing I liked very much though, is how Agent 47 is portrayed.

Ciao

**** Phoenix / SWIFT Guignol Review! ****

GENERAL REVIEW: I think this has to be one of those Hitman films that I can actually enjoy. I found the camera pans to be somewhat artistic. The extreme Field-of-Views in some areas kind of redevelops the settings established in this movie.

I also have to like some the use of set dressing using various building props to add that extra dimension to these sets. The use of overlays were subtle and I also enjoyed the selection of music.

Overall, it has been a great experience.

base score: 3.5 --> 5.0

CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK: One thing that bothered was the Hitman character. He was very similar to the actual Hitman character from the video games. He was bald, wears a business suit, and had a barcode in the back of his head. Perhaps you could have created your own Hitman character instead of sourcing too much on a pre-existing hitman. Or maybe this could be considered a "fan video". Who knows! -0.4

Aside from that, everything else is minor. I thought the editing could be tightened in the part where the hitman kills the person in the taxi. I see him outside the taxi shooting the man, and then back in the taxi a few seconds later. I couldn't quite figure that out other than the hitman was probably trying to set a bomb, but wouldn't he do that before he picked up that man? -0.2

OPINION / TILT: The overall feel of it, however, was artistic, which I tend to have an affinity for. The camera angles were definitely disturbing, but I think they were disturbing on purpose. +0.1

Score: 4.5 -- BRONZE

Okay. This film is very well put together and thought out. But I did not like the scenes where the camera went thorugh some of the bodies in the ambulance. And I think you also went a little too crazy with the free cam.The VOs, even though I could not understand them with out the subs, were very good and sounded realistic. I also like how you did not rip off any movie or game. This story was very original.

This was a great movie. I liked the beginning, and I enjoyed it all the way until the end. The fact that it was in French was a little dissapointing, but I like the French language, so that's okay. The sound effects and music were really well picked. They set the mood and believe it or not gained my attention more than the plot. Like someone else said in a review, they've not played the hitman games therefore they do not know the plot. Me either, but thats my fault, and I won't hold that against such a good movie. You've done yourself a great job. This is definitely a film to be proud of, one to not take offline fo quite some time, if ever.
The VOs however were lacking something, such as quality. The acting was superb, but the quality was on the contrary. But it doesn't matter, because I don't understand French that well anyway. I really liked how you did the subtitles, it made it watchable for us Enlish guys too! There were very few mistakes with them; if any at all. So great job on your part with those.
You've earned a 5/5 from me no doubt. Let's see how this film stands against the other entries of The Sweat Awards. Check in to see how the competition looks. Great work, this is one to bookmark.

Well i am aware that this character is not originally from you and that it is off the video game Hitman, which i have played, but it would be a crime to give this movie anything less than 5. For the simple fact. It is absolutely brilliant.

I honestly couldn't pick up a flaw in the movie. Apart from the obvious fact of original characters which i stated above. I usually take a star off for that, but i am going to overlook it this time.

The script, camera work and editing was simply flawless! I was extremely entertained and that doesnt happen often with a long movie on TMO. I cant wait for the second installment, let me know when it comes out please.

So, if i could give you advice. In the future look to make characters of your own. Your stories are brilliant, and i am sure you could've done just as better...well not better, it would take nearly an impossible effort to top this (but i wouldnt be surprised if Hitman 2 is just as good) but i mean, a different character would've got your more positive reviews from certain individuals who mark you down for originality.

Another good thing to come out of this....this movie was a lot better than the video games :)

This is the kind of movie that draws one into its trap! The script and imagery rivets on to the screen. It doesn't rely on gimmicks, but rather it entertains us by immediately creating interest in the characters involved in the story. There are so many 'plus' factors for this movie, that I will just have to wrap it all in one nice package and say, "INCREDIBLE!".

I think the part I enjoyed the most was the music and special effects. I have not played any of the Hitman games. So I really didn't get too much of the plot, but I still enjoyed the film. I also thought that you did a really good job on your camera work. I found this to be entertaining, as I didn't notice that 13 minutes had passed me by. Looking foward to part 2.

I have seen a few TMO films trying to emulate the Hitman series, but yours has captured both the style, feel, and drama. Told from the perspective of a flashback, the history of the main character is unraveled, and his future? It is yet in the hands of its creator--a filmmaker renowned for his stylistic and surreal visions. We will keep our eyes peeled for our next glimpse into Babar23's worlds.

First of all I would like to point out that I am a Hitman Fan. I thought you managed to capture the environments and more importantly, the character well. Codename 47 is fun and intruiging to watch! I felt as though it was a cut-scene for the game and was waiting to take control of this marvelously crafted character. The Plot itself was very well written and manages to keep you interested for a full 14 minutes!. Well Done on making something such as the Hitman Franchise popular on TMO!

Stylish to the point of insanity, Hitman Part I delivers the goods and shakes us around like a rock-em-sock-em robot in the process. This is pure cinema in the sense that every aspect uses the freecam and editing to disorient and confuse the viewer into submission; here, the shaky cinematagraphy creates a dizzying, high octane atmosphere that matches the hardcore nature of the story very well. Much like Bambi is Running III, this movie relies on atmosphere and stylization to keep it going, and this movie has it all in spades.

Though I was secretly hoping your next film would be Bambi is Running IV, this was a very enjoyable thrill ride that shows the variety of stories that can be told by this studio.

love this film, love hitman games! but the problem is though is that 47 looks vaguely like the aliens from Bad Taste!!! his face is too angular, but other wise good job!

It was sort of a ripoff. But, it was a darn good ripoff!

3/5
The intro was a complete rip from the Hitman Series (phone dialing).
The general storyline, while nicely executed, was still slightly Hitman-Esque. Nice writing with the voices, though.
As for the name Agent 47, that also is a rip.
Nice set dressings, though.
However, much of the voice-overs had the destinct "Puh" sound at the beginning.
Excellent music.
However, the Camera work is what saved this from a 3/5. I congradulate you on having such percise camera work - so much so, that it saved this movie from a bad rating.

Work on the writing, ALOT. Next time, think of an original storyline, too. Sure, the hits were original - but a hitman named Agent 47 is just a mirror image of the Hitman Franchise.

A bientot

Impressionnant, vraiment impressionnant.

That was incredible. As a hitman fan my self i've seen countless people stuff up the hitman genre and the game, bur you my friend have done an outstanding job.
Bravo! Standing ovation!

First of all let me comment on the style. That was some serious style. And when i sa style i mean i literally did not recognize half of the sets you used. You moded then and dressed them so well that i actually thought i was looking at new sets. Especially bravo on the medical room, it was superb.

Next the camera work. Fantastic. Easily the best freecam work i have seen. Also one of the few people to use perspective so well, it fits so well in with the mood and style. I really loved those perspective shots. I also really love those shots of hitman in the ambulance and then in the emergecy room as he is being wheeled down the hallway. That was A-Grade, A GRADE. I loved it.

Next is the music. What can i say, brilliant. So much so that i didnt even notice it. Meaning that it fit in so well that it seemed like it was meant to be there. Simply perfect.

And as for sound effects. Well hats off to you. A lot of time you see movies where you thin "oh here will be a good echo becasue he is standing in a tall room by himself" but you never get it. In this movie sound seliver on every stage.

Now to some personal favourite moments. THe whole hit of the guy in the cab starting at his office was fantastic. It was done just so well, i really enjoyed how you crafted that whole hit sequence.
I also loved the bit in the end when hitman istesting his weapons, thats done really beautifully with all the siwshing acros with the camera. Really reminds me of the game.
I also loved the entire ambulance sequence, really stylish. Style oozes from every crevasse in this movie.

All in all this is the first movie to do justice to the hitman franchise, and without a doubt deserve a spot in the top 3, if not number 1. Im not even a french speaker and i loved this movie. Even as an english speaker i could tell through the subtitiles the dialogue was sharp and intense.

I havent said much about the story, but that goes without saying. I loved it and i wait with anticipating Hitman part 2.

Bravo.

A+ ZeZe

Chapeau bas !
