Plot/Storyline: Good plot, with a well written storyline. The strong part here was the character individualization and development. Good dialogue, but got carried away a few times.

Editing: The hallmark of all the films I have seen from this studio is it's noir style editing. Good use of camera angles and close ups to help create the "sexy" look and feel to this movie. Excellent voiceovers. Very good soundtrack.

Overall: A well done film. the conversations sometimes got a bit carried away and slowed the pacing down a bit. A very good story with great characters. This was a remarkable film. This film has earned a Green Glades Studios Diamond in the Rough.

Awesomely entertaining.
Some very good VO work, and it was delivered with necessary emotion.Something which really can make or break movies.Well done by all.
The story was great, not unlike watching a very good tv show, and I couldn't help but feel the flow of the movie, given the depth of the script.
I liked the few times where some funny comments were made, like the line "hard steel in my holster"(lol love that) and the mention of the file cabinet being used for his Playboy subscription, just to mention a couple.Things like that bring out an element of realism to the situations, and it keeps the story fresh and vibrant. Many others neglect things like that, and the story can potentially become rather stale as a result.Nicely done.
I also liked the set-dressing,although it didn't go unnoticed by me that the red poison bottle(label visible even haha)seemed to be a very popular item with these people, even at the bar lol.
Overall a great production.(I have rarely used the word "production" in a review)
This is really top-notch stuff, well worth the 20 minute investment:-)

Very enjoyable. One of the highlights was the great voiceover work. Nice job on set dressing, music, and costumes. A nice change of pace to find a complex storyline, and I like the way the pace the characters were introduced - with such a large cast it can be easy to get confused on who everyone is, but you made each character distinguishable. I did feel that there were a few too many close-up face shots. These loose some of their drama when used to frequently.

Really well-done!

A monumental achievement, meticulously crafted. No wonder it was in the works for so long. The music was perfect for this film--full of intrigue, and with a hint of mischief. The dialogue was magnificient, and well-suited to the characters. The VO performances (including your celebrity guest) was fantastic. Great attention to set dressing, set use, and props. Only a few minor items which are not complaints, but just silly suggestions based on my personal preference; firstly the small font was hard to read in the creative opening credits (nicely done by the way, with the characters standing there). The opening scene of Mezzanine speaking to herself seemed more like she was thinking to herself (thus no need for lip-synching, since she doesn't seem to be the type to actually speak aloud to herself). I also noticed the fade to blacks often show three faint white streaks at the lower portion of the screen (like comets) and I don't know if these were intentional. Again, these are only minor technical issues which didn't distract from the overal experience of the interlude. Magnificient work, as usual. And the final line from Mezz was brilliant!

It's the juicy tour de force we've all been waiting for! Crammed full of sex, drugs, (just a bit of the sticky~icky~ick, really), and incest?! Intellectual intercourse to be sure! The twisting path of a beautiful, undercover cop slips from one side to the other as she finds herself at odds with her warped family/career situation, faithfully frisky friends and the possibilty of falling in love with her quarry! All in a daze work for Mezzanine, the girl with a razor sharp smile, a diamond attitude and her brother's little pistol in her pocket! A Steller peak to the slow drive that is the Groove Holmes/Mezzanine legacy . . . guaranteed to blow a hole into a few Perceptions! ~ Kudos!

Mezzanines Interlude
A film by elizabethsusan

WoW!

Storyline/Plot: Twisted and hip with some dark and taboo concepts, come on! Thats awesome
Character Coolness: Very memorable characters that you achieved through great character development and sneak peeks too ~ Some of the best dressed on TMO.
Sights: Terrific use of in game scenes and really really good editing Elizabeth.
Sounds: The score was timed perfectly and the song choices added a consistent flow throughout this movie.
Subs or VO: Spot on VO and wonderful acting, professional sounding quality. Nice job
Fast-Forward Factor: No way!
Seeming Moviemaker's Effort: Its obvious to the viewer that your thoughtful time and hard work was put into producing this entertaining feature film.
Comments: Top Notch Entertainment!

Thanks! ~Ninette1 Studios

I've been waiting to see this one for a while and it didnt disapoint.

Character Dialogue and Flow:
-The characters are all unique and complex
-smart and well laid out interaction between characters
-You really get sucked into the complex main character (Mezzanine) as you try to unravel her past
-With small glimpses of the supporting cast it's hard to get a handle on their exact role in the whole story...but it does feel like everyone is linked and has there own background story
-lots of room for development of the character background stories in the next installment

I was thoroughly impressed.

the story and atmosphere:
well it's easy to see that this movie has been properly planned out well in advance. The story is of crime, mystrery and sex intertwined into an eye catching piece of work. It was fantastic the lighting, set dressing, and music just allows the viewer to get sucked into the story.

Enjoyment Factor:
Well for me this is the most important part to any movie. Due to all the above points it made this movie real easy to sit back and enjoy. I love when a story is complicated. This is just an intro to the story but already i find myself enthralled into a complex web of characters and situations that can only get deeper as more elements of the story get revealed. Strange incestious relationships, Hidden pasts, and shady dealings abound make this a story that one cannot help but be pulled into.

It did not seem like a 20 minute movie as i watched...it just flew by...

Overall Thoughts are that This is going to be a fantastic series...if it can keep up the mystery :)

I think the run time is a bit too long, lots of unneccesary fluff that adds little to the overall film. A few of the asides, whilst ammusing, seem to be out of place.
But its obvious that a lot of work has gone into this film and it is certainly more entertaining than a fox sit com.

Loved it! Loved the atmosphere you created, the music, the voices (the voiceacting was so believable all around!)and what a gripping story! I´m especially impressed because this was done without S&E, and it took me a loooong time to realise it.. great work!

Hell yeah that was a great movie! You know, it took me a while before I went like "hey, this isn't made with S&E" (means the editing is just absolutely awesome :) )
The VAs a great, the use of music is great! This was a real pleasure to watch. When she neaked in was excellent.
Yeah... I don't even dare to imagine what you will bring us with S&E...
Great job!

I thought it was quite good. Not what I expected. I'm actually considering your invitation to be in your next film. It looks quite good so far. You used very good techniques and I didn't consider the R rating way over the limit.

Oh my, this is awesome !
Like a modern Film Noir, a rough girl in a rough neighborhood.
Everything contributes to the special late night mood, the voices, clothes, backdrops and music. Excellent set dressing as well.
The story keeps your interest going, the ending superb (the last scene with the car brilliant)
Great intro credit backdrops also. Overall an overwhelming production.
You take it for granted on a TV show, it's magic to achieve somthing like this with The Movies.
You've got yourself a new fan :)

Elizabeth. Susan. Carter. You've done it again!! This movie was just incredible. I was blown away by the VO's and yours were jaw dropping. The writing was some of the best I've ever seen/heard in a TMO movie. It was so smooth and natural and I think that kept a great flow through the movie. I was so hooked from start to finish. I am just shocked again by the writing and VO's and I cant say enough about them. The camera angles and shots were perfect along with the arrange of music in the movie. You are just...well words cant describe. Just simply amazing.

WOW!!!!! I'm impressed. I did say some months back that I wouldn't be able to rate long movies because I only have dial up but I'm glad that I decided against it. It took me well over an hour to open this movie but I don't regret it one bit after seeing your amazing film. The script was superb. Voice overs perfect. I feel honoured that you gave me the rating's you have in the past. I wish I could understand how to make the actors look like they are talking the dialogue. I've tried to follow instructions I saw on the forum but it I can't get it to work. Anyway excellent work. If I haven't book marked your studio already it will certainly will be now.

This movie has three things that most TMO creations are only dreaming of: Style, Characters and Dialogue. When I clicked on the "play" button, watched the credits, listened to the music and heard Mezzanine's beginning monologue, I instantly knew that I'll adore this film. After I witnessed (and regretfully: wrote) so many cliched, uninspired dialogue, your smart and devious script was music for my ears. Mezzanine's monologues are one of a kind, but I was ROFL during the bedroom sequence, too, where Mezzanine and Holmes - obviously lacking any sensible theme - said one awkward "chat-up" line after another. Oh my, if I could only write dialogues that half as spirited as yours...
The characters are all instantly likable, realistic people, but Mezzanine is the one that rules the show. Only one word can describe her: COOOOOOL (with all capital letters). Hot, ironic and irresistible - she clearly sets the mark for all female leading characters. I really hope that you're planning a series with her!
The music is awesome: catchy, melodic, and... sorry for using this word again... simply COOL. (In fact, I was searching for it in your movie description because I'd like to download and listen to it separately.)
So, I already told that I love your script, your dialogues, your characters and your music. Is anything wrong?
Well... I must admit that if I take away all the cool dialogues, the story is quite simple and not especially original. A simple undercover work, without any unexpected plot twists.
Also, the directing is good, but nothing extraordinary. ("Only" good.)
But I found that the advantages outweigh these flaws by far. There are so few original, stylish, cool movies out there, with so many remarkable characters (ermm... in fact, I cannot even name another suddenly...). Two thumbs up!

You had the traffic noise bug, that sucked :(
First thoughts were to mark it down to a 4 star for the unecessary runtime and lack of pace, but then I began to appreciate the amount of work you put in on everything else. The small details were very telling, good prop use and subtle mods, great vo and soundtrack, great script work, great characters and ambience, probably the best of the Mezzanine series.
But still, in the end the lack of editing sharpness and the annoying traffic noise wore me down. A shorter sharper movie would have allowed me to override its technical shortcomings, but altogether they force me to mark down.
Still a fine movie.

There are certain studios that have a style all of there own.And elizabethsusan is no exception. Her style is compelling and is always executed to perfection. For one to make a 20 min movie of this calibre is truly a master at this art. I will continue to follow this studio. ..Fantastik movie...And was it just a dream...

Wow...i have to say that again. WOW. This must have taken ages to make but is well worth it. I don't think i have seen a more accomplished movie here on TMO. This movie has everything, perfect VOs, outstanding editing and the quality shined right from the start. Most importantly it had Mezzanine ;).

When the quality of the competition on TMO is this good, it is no wonder i retire so often.

This was entertaining. Nineteen minutes!!! Whooooeee! Of course there are questions about namaste and Mezzanine as well as Groove. Keep up the good work!

A clever movie masterfully catered for the male-dominated population of TMO. I consider this as both the strength and the weakness of this movie at the same time.

The dialogue was well written and fun to listen to. There were so many nice funny lines that made this movie quite enjoyable. On the other hand, some lines seemed to be there with no clear purpose. And it appears that here is not much of plot going on.

ElizabethSusan??s music choice always impresses me. The modded sets were great, just gorgeous.

------Now some mandatory compulsory nit-picking-----

Again economy. There were scenes that did not seem to be needed or that felt dragging. Time is money, and efficiency is elegance and true beauty in my book. (I don??t mean you have to cut down anything necessary for the story or have to speed up the movie just in order to make it shorter.)

Jump cuts are unavoidable in TMO (and perfectionism is one??s worst enemy in TMO), but I was a bit distracted by radical jump cuts, especially crowded in the conversation scene between Mezzanines and her boss/parents.

The idea of the main character??s parents being behind of this whole operation threw me aback?

I felt there were a little too many close ups of people??s lips. Some were motivated, but some did not seem to.
---------------------------------------------

I would consider Mezzanines Interlude ??a movie for men,?? but it does have nice dialogue and a style. I would not say this is a plot driven movie, but it does have its charm. I would have liked this movie better if it were a little bit more austere in its story telling style, material, and overall structure.

*MoMc Review*

Very well developed story and characters. The pace was just right, with the correct amount of tension and suspense. Vo's very well executed.

Prop placment was very expert.

The characters were fully rounded, and believable.

But the best for me was the excellent scriptwriting.

"MoMc Review"
4.3

The characters were well presented, and the narration by the female lead was excellent in most parts. A few lines detracted, such as "I shouldn't take too many photos" which sounded like "Now let's explain it to the dummies who won't understand without a smack in the head." The VO's were good quality, with just a few lines/actors who were softer than the norm.

The story itself was very good, based heavily on dialogue but keeping the interest up by switching between different places. In this regard I have two criticisms. The first is that I thought some scenes were overly long without seeming to contribute much (e.g. the smoking in the bathroom followed by a lengthy phone call). The second is that for an 'interlude', and a very long one at that (by TMO standards), I went away with the feeling of, "What was the point of it all?" Don't get me wrong, it was very good, but I was left somehow unsatisfied.

The production quality was very good throughout, with my only criticisms being the overuse of mouth shots and the lack of music in some crucial scenes (notably the dance). But the continuity, pacing, scene transitions, etc, were all very good.

Overall, I thought this was a very good movie, with interesting characters and a strong script. All the best for the future.

"Sexualintercourse. Sounds kinky". Fantastic line! Just my sort of humour.

I really wanted to give this a five, because it was executed so well. your use of close ups in dialogue was good in my view and a lot of the dialogue was entertaining and character building stuff. You made the protaganist really feel like a real person which most studios fail to achieve. As usual your attention to detail was impressive again, and you really must have spent a lot of time in this movie perfecting the costumes and sets, etc.

The main weakness for me was the execution of the story. I don't know what it was, but I lost track of what was going on, where she was and why people did certain things. This is a pity because the story was set up so well. I don't know what it was. Perhaps the concentration on dialogue or perhaps it was the length of the film. But in the end, I don't really understand how the film concluded. if I remember rightly, as similar thing happened in the last of your movies I reviewed. From the other reviews, this was not an issue for many other people who watched your movie and you certainly deserve the five star rating you have received from others. Many films are over-rated. But that is not true for this movie and I actually feel sorry for studios like yours that other films are over-rated, becasue it skews the charts against you.

However, in my case, I wasn't able to follow or get the story properly. This may be my fault, but it also reflects that some aspects of this movie are not quite to my taste. As a result, I reluctantly give it four stars as it feels more like 4 stars than five stars.

By the way, suggesting selling VC for VOs on your studio page is a great idea. I don't know if you are the first to do this, but you are the first i have seen suggesting it. If I need a sultry female VO, I may conside that offer.

Dialogue was snappy , and witty, and oh so naughty. *wink* Music was great, VO's were awesome, Editing was great for the most part (though I have to agree with a previous reviewer that the mouth close-ups were overdone a bit). But other than minor nitpicks, it was a very fun flick.

Very top notch work here. The dialogue was fast and furious, the characters well-defined, the sets were dressed just enough, and the story kept me watching through the entire film. Definitely a great film. I did find the few mistakes I saw distracting to the overall feel (the man walking behind the office window, for instance), but not enough to decriment from the movie itself. Great job and I can't wait to see more works from you.

As I've made a few "dialogue movies", I find the dialogue in the corridor pretty well done except for the part of the man pacing which doesn't fit into it. This was taking the attention away from the dialogue.
In the rest of the movie, there are really too much mouth close-ups.
One of such close-up for each character in one movie is enough.
As you don't see any background with these tight close-up, they are useful when you want to slightly move a character in one place (like, before he was in front of, then he is on the left or right).
Tight close-ups also are welcome when you want to emphasize an important line of a dialogue and/or in a dramatic way, don't use them when unimportant things are said. If your dialogues are good, using the same kind of wide shots will not bore the viewer. The Critical Talk and Romantic Proposition offer considerable possibilities for long dialogues when properly cut, and if you alternate this with some Talk and Listen scenes, you can make a 10 minutes dialogue movie in the same place without boring the viewers. Filming dialogues with the Ages/Long option will even allows you to get an actor almost without jerking his body for a couple of seconds. Double, triple, quadruple these parts, and the result will be stunning.
All in all, this is an intelligent movie and the opening credits were original, but some stills were too short to be read in full with the very small characters. Luckily, they were back at the end.
The part I dodn't like is the ending still.
I would have prefered to see confusion on the face of the actress and let the viewer think for himself instead of telling him to what he should be pondering about, but I guess this is a European point of view.

I was going to offer a different type of review but with some of the taboo's tackled within this movie I felt better to stick to TMO convention.

I see an intricate plot, expertly handled with characters that have depth and a sense of class seldom seen on TMO. From the VO through to the seamless editing this movie flows like tranquil stream on a hot summers day. The script contains an essence which at times reminds me of Tarantino (and I remember your Pulp Fiction movie). This is nothing short of one of TMO's masterpieces. I now need to shower because this movie is also so damn hot.

Impressive work. No doubt the film is extremely well crafted. No portion of the film was less but meticulously precise.
The characters are developed in a way I never suspected TMO could do. The lines of the script, the VO's... they come to excellent to brilliant.
I wish I could do movies like this. Mezzanine is a great character, and this is a great movie. One of the best.

Anyone who hasn't watched this movie is truly missing out on something special. I watched it through the first time and then noticed someone mention it's running time. I was shocked, the flow of the film was such that the time blew by. I figured it was 8 minutes and change, max. Truly an amazing feat, maybe even miraculous, among the other films of it's length that I've viewed on TMO.

This series is really a rarity among the standards that are typically displayed on TMO. The time and effort put into the film shines through, as does the fine craftmanship. Elizabeth brings a wonderful sense humour and sexuality to the screen, like no other has before. I have this studio bookmarked for a reason, I don't want to miss an episode, and neither should anyone else who has even the slightest interest in this genre.

How Puffy Was It?

Originality:8/10-Pretty original, I think I've seen only a few movies kind of like this. It was still very entertaining.
Plot:9/10-Great solid plot. I liked that twist at the end. The plot gets better and better as the movie goes on. Nice job.
Dialogue:10/10-Like alot of movies, all the charcters didn't sound the same. The dialogue was believable and somehwta funny in situations. Each character had its own personality, and style.
Music/Sound:10/10-Great music through out the whole movie. The songs fit the situation, and mood. Another job well done.
Editing:10/10-The editing was great. From all the prop placements, to the costumes (some of them were hot!) to the scene cuts, eveything was great. It really made the movie great.

PufFactor:47/50-SNUFFIN PUFFIN NOMINEE! I think this is one of my highest rated movies ever!

wow, ESC. You are such a legend. Great story: a bad girl cop, who believes in what she believes in. And larger than life characters and an excellent story. Beautifully crafted.

~ Kudos!
