Every so often you come across a movie that is so much of a shock to your system that you entirely forget about any flaws within the movie, after the first viewing I had to go back and watch it again to make sure that I wasn't infact imagining things, upon the second viewing i realised this movie really was as good as I thought it was, the only draw back with it was that I would have loved to have seen more of the movie, had more of a connection to the characters, also the dialogue was extremely low in comparison to the music which hampered the viewing, this should have been a 5* movie, it felt like one to me."

The Idea: 6 - Wow, did you try to think of the most childish movie ever?! This promised Stephen King but it delivered Point Horror, your grasp on what a scary idea is is something akin to the governments grasp on what the youth of today finds important. That said you managed to make the best of a bad situation.
Originality: 2 - Quite frankly I have seen more original remakes, a horror movie about ghosts ... yikes never saw that one coming. To top it off you added the stereotypical "twist" and psycho manouver that had all the grace of a hippo ballet dancing and the subtlty of a large brick through a 13th century stain glass window. Perhaps when you have come up with an original way to scare people you can rest on your laurels, but this was quite honestly the most blatently plagerised pile of steaming crud that i have laid eyes on, but alas by the standards of TMO, which to be honest would mean a toddler stood a good chance of getting onto the charts and makes Charlton Heston look like a movie making god (no pun intended) I sadly have to give this above average for the originality factor, it pains me greatly to say this however and I would sooner eat my own fingers to stop this happeneing, but sadly i can't find my pen knife or my whisky...
Script: 0 - Is it possible to go one day without seeing a TMO movie that is so over the top and special effects orientated so as to completely remove any sembelance of a story from the script, I mean this was a reasonable attempt at a story, but the fact it could have been compressed into a 30 second infomertial inbetween a Durex and a Kleenex advert at midnight on one of those live chat phone in channels, probably the one with the big hairy russian woman who looks more liks she crawlled out of a cave after wrestlling a bear for a body and winning than was born naturally. If you are going to set the scene then for the love of all B movie horrors set it properly, man meet girl, yadayadayada, man is suddenly in love with girl and living with her after 3 months, all of this because he asked her for coffee?! I mean get real, life aint like that, it'd take the guy atleast 6 months to go through his house with a magnifying glass, U.V. lamp and some cleaning fluid to make sure there were no "surprises" for the prospective woman... The connection between the character and the viewer was something akin to that of a tea bag and it's knowledge of the east india comapany. If you're after a movie with some deep and meaningful message
or even one with the content of a Mr Men book then you're in the wrong place, but alas it does it's job when it comes to filling up space ...
Dialogue:-4 - To call it dialogue would be calling a neandertal man a genius ... There was something there, i'm sure of it there was definatley a buzzing noise all the way through the movie, but I really am at a loss as to what it was all about ... ... try making the voice overs a bit louder, my translator bat was straining to hear and then I had to replace it after a sudden loud noise caused its head to jar back so severely that it fell off rolled out the door and was picked up by next doors cat, which promptly spat it out because it had been sullied by this movie.
Language: 0 - Well when i finally got the translation off my bat, the way it read would have made Tolkein stir in his grave, get out of hit, and come bearing down on you with a hatchet shouting "never write again you ungratful little brat, you have sullied the English languish with your blatent disregard for any sense of content" ... At which point he'd be pushed out of the way by a blind leaper also claiming he could have done a better job, to say that the content was appauling would be an overstatement, but to say it was good would just be a lie, so all in all, it was reasonable to the degree of being very very average, mind you even average would try to run at the sight of this gargantuan pile of .
Music: -1 - Wait a minute, I got so lost in my search for that Venga Boys song that came out seven years ago that i totally forgot to listen out for the music in this movie, but hell going on the past marks i can only assume it was far too loud for the movie, in what must have been the editors last gasp attempt to disguise the uninspired voice acting, the resulting cacophony has was something remarkably like a cross between a Banshee and a lost soul tearing itself apart when offered an audience with Tony Blair.
Directing: 8 - I am of the firm belief that you went out to get some lunch, came back and the Janitor had made the movie, in your blind rage over how bad a job he had done you accidentally threw a pencil which lodged in the lead actors neck rendering him slightly dead, thus meaning the copy you had to use was made by a janitor with a wooden leg, and a sing song voice that no matter what it is saying is remembered as "16 men on the dead mans chest, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum" ... Thus due to the fact this is a work of the Janitor, I have to say, he did a good job, some what better than what you would have achieved had you been able to shoot the movie, mainly because his choice of scenes and actors put yours to shame, I mean seriously, Tom Hanks as a brain dead retarded Zombie?! Geez talk about type casting the man, just let him forget the movie about the shrimp and vietnam OK?!
Editing: 6 - "Special Effects maketh the man", well actually, NO they don't, a movie so effects laden it was the equivelent of dangleing your schlong out the car window just to prove how big it is, only to have a passing car of women pull out a magnifying glass and tell you someone really should look at that, because in-grown hairs can get infected. There is no doubt in my mind that when it comes to creating an atmosphere you have the biggest ... "talent" ... I have seen for a while, it is just a shame that much like "The Matrix 2 & 3" you forfeited the story in search of ever grander special effects.
Genre/Actor Fit: 7 - I was horrified, but mainly because I felt I was staring into the last dying breaths of my life, as my lungs decided they would stop working until the movie was over, thankfully, mercifully you ended it and my fears of imminent death by spontaneous asphyxiation were alleviated, that said it made watching this movie far more interesting and slightly more enjoyable having something to really be afraid of...
WOW/Yawn Factor: 6 - My love of this movie is equal to my love of a George Bush speech, you just know you are going to be laughing at everything that comes up, but then you realise that the man that just said "most of our imports come from abroad" is infact sitting on the largest nuclear arsenal the world has ever seen, at which point mild dread and a light sweat breaks out, as you really do hope that he doesn't get the big red button confused with his game of "Whack A Mole" which folds out of his desk to keep him occupied whilst Haliburton check the share price increase since he came into power.
Overall: 30 - 2* - well done, you are possibly the worst good movie maker i have ever come across, go home have a beer, and never ever come back, for the love of all thing TMO, we can do without this mediocre crap. You should be ashamed of yourself, boasting it was going to "scare" me, ha, pitiful attempts at scaring, the mear thought of your movie is enough to make me break out in a cold sweat but that is because of the same reason that chinese bamboo torture makes me break out in a cold sweat, I genuinely fear for my life, kind of like my eyes are going to leave my body, pick up my pen knife and start trying to sever my head from my body with the small saw attachment.

Critics Center Review
Okay i have got to say that this review will most probably be useless in terms of going into much detail, i have watched your movie and decided for the viewers sake to not give away any plot details whatsoever, this movie must be watched without them knowing barely anything, much like i did when i first saw this movie. Well to put it bluntly this horror movie scared me, i have said in numerous horror reviews that they freaked me out. But there is a difference between being creeped out and being genuinely anxious about what is coming. I will go more in depth in a second though, there was one flaw to this movie which i too will mention a bit later on.
Right then back to the horrifcness of it all. Well the atmosphere was brilliant, as a lover and creator of horror movies on TMO i was really impressed by what you did. You burst out of the boundaries of the game and delivered a chilling movie. The musci score and quick cuts amiplified this. I will also confessed a jumped a few times, a first on TMO. The sound effects were also played upong greatly, i am believer that people are more scared by what they don't see, this is the reason why movies like Halloween and Alien are so damn freaky. The same can be said with this movie, sure you don't see all too much, but by god the sounds and atmosphere make you scared. The VO's were also pitch perfect, but the one that stood out most was Postmodernchuck. You mentioned earlier on his voice was creepy, well he's terrific in this movie, genuinely creepy.
Okay then the bad point i mentioned, well actually its pretty mniscule, basically i just fealt the movie was all that original. It has been done before plotwise. That's my moan, sure its been done before but you have crafted something scary out of it, and that in itself is an achievement.
Overall one of the best if not the very best horror i have ever seen on TMO. Very well done.

This truely is a horror classic. The timing and storytelling here is top notch. I think you have an innate talent for screen writing. I was a little shaken after watching the movie and believe me that never happens, until now that is. Great idea, great story and all around fabulous movie. You are a talented young man. Keep up the good work and hope you let us know when your Studio releases new movies as I am now a fan. Bookmarked.

Oh boy where to start.
Editing for thsi movie could have been better but the effects and music were great. You used a wide variety of characters which is good. The plot was probobly the best. I've never seen a movie end this way before nor have I seen a movie with a plot as such. But it was a nice twist at the end and it got me to jump!

This movie made me realize something. Everytime I say "All right" in my VO work, I say it like, "Aaaaaaall right." I must have watched Ace Ventura too much as a kid.
Anyway.
This movie uses light, special effects, and sound design to its advantage, utilizing the essentials of movie-making to the nth degree in order to propel the narrative and actually cause a chain reaction of jerkings-jumpings-screamings-etc. Yes, you pushed the game to the limits, making this actually, well, horrifying. I jumped. What the story lacks in originality, it makes up in effectiveness. So great job. The dream sequences were also a joy to watch.
There are, however, some minor glitches tossed about in there. The editing gets a little crazy at times and you could have probably done with some more background music and transitional shots.
For some reason, I also found Ember's mother an enjoyably hilarious character! I loved the part where she talks about having hallucinations all the time. Pffft! :)

How smart is it:9/10: Well written if a little unoriginal, overall though this was a brilliant script with very good charactization.
What kind of squeak does it make?:8/10: The sound was spot on with the music and the hearbeats (i assume thats what they were!) And the VOs were pretty good if a little unemotional at times. Thats just being extreremely picky tho!
How well groomed was it?:9/10: The editting was very well done! With the sudden faces appering and things! One small point the train was moving still after they pulled into the station, don't know if yoy can change this but'll assume you can't so i won't knock marks off.
The Acorn Factor: 5/10: I was a bit disapointed with this, after being claimed it would scare the socks off me it didn't really give me more than a start. This is still a very good movie just it didn't give me the scare i was hopeing for... It might be this sought of horror doesn't scare me i don't know but i just didn't.
Would i mate with this?: 31/40 Very high 4 stars. Appreciated horror movies are hard to do on this game with the selection of scenes you have, but im afraid this just didn't make it through lack of scaryness. You shouldn't be dissapointed tho. This was an extremely well put together film with a good and imaginitive script. Keep up the good work as yoyu definately have talent for this.

Indeed a horror movie. And that is not good in this case.
The story was so simple. After a minute i knew what the story would be.
The film was also miles to slow, whitout telling a thing. And on the end when it finally became nice the edeting was ways off.
Really there was barly anithing good about it.

~A My Dog Ate Your Movie review~
M: I like this story, it had a good feel to it. Almost like some classic psycological horror. I liked the ending, nice little twist. 20/20
A: The song was a good fit. The little sound effects outside the bedroom door are great. 10/10
D: The Vos are great. They weren't all the same volume though, but that didn't mess anything up. The dialogue was good, there was a couple lines that didn't seem to fit, one in particular was the line about getting utensils. To me part of bringing a meal in bed is bringing a fork or something. 18/20
D: Small things popped up here ands there. After the subway stopped the close-up shots had a moving background. They were wearing the same clothes three months later, and she was wearing the same clothes to work. Some of the VOs sounded like they were cut short. There were good cut scenes and transitions. 15/20
O: Very original. 20/20
G: This movie deffinately stuck with the horror feel. The whole mood had an eerie feel to it, great job. 10/10
93 points = 5 Stars
Great job. I really like this movie. Keep up the good work.

Well where do I begin...I guess the first word is "FANTASTIC!".
Now I've been bored with alot of the horror movies on TMO for quite a while now and thought maybe no one can create a good horror movie. This proved me wrong!
One of the great things about this movie, is that it can creep you out like it did with me. Most of the horror movies on TMO now are just...hmm well put it this way, no plot just hack slash and gore and the directors that make those movies think there scary but there not!
What I also liked about this movie was the atmosphere of it. I don't know how to explain how good it is...because it is too good too explain. I'm highly reccomend this movie. It is creepy and entertaining with a great ending!
A well earned 5 star Michael! (But viewers be warned, the old lady voice is the scarist part of the movie :P)

[not-so-nice-word!] that was scary! Good job I watched it when it wasn't dark!
Story/Plot: Very, very creppy. That was an extremeley scary story and the characters were all very beleivable. I really liked the plot no matter how much it scared the life out of me!-10/10
Dialogue: The voice acting for the most part was extremeley good. Postmodernchuck's performance was good, as was Jackiethepeapod's. But you stole the show as the old mother, her voice was hilarious!.-9/10
Editing/Effects: Very well edited which really helped build tension and helped the fear factor go right up!-10/10
Music: Excellent custom music!.-10/10
Genre Fit & WOW Factor: The movie was fantastic in creating a great horror atmosphere and I really enjoyed it. The editing and story give this a decent WOW factor as well but nothing much.-8/10
Overall: A fantastic horror flick, certainly worth a look.
SCORE: 47/50: 5 STARS

Mission: Radio official review.
EthanRunt!
The film is a brilliant view into life of two people, and with twists and turns, murder. But what really helps this is the believability of the piece, the characters play it so subtley, some brilliant voice acting, and the jumps that would scare on the big screen almost do here to, which helps. Great set up and editing mean it's not the same old tired plot redone and played differently. The one thing i still can't get is the point of the book, if you had extracts of the book as backdrops and read out every so often that turn out also to be the psyche of Kevin this would be unbelievably the best thing ever made on TMO, but apart from that shortcoming this movie is fantastic. The music cues are brilliant, the creepy dream sequences are breathtaking and the simple tasks appear almost irregular, but then again this is a film where murder is the basic plot, and that is pretty irregular itself. Fantastic.

Quite a nice effort. You must be very good with Star Maker. These people looked really nice. VOs were great too.
I think that editing could have been tighter, and that the whole movie could have been reduced to two third of its current length without loosing anything with an effort to package the material more efficiently.
Sometimes the dialogue and the action on the scene did not really match. Some transitions between scenes were a bit jumpy. Also, when you show people??s close ups one after the other, you want to make sure it does not look like a personality change. (Change the background.)
Story-wise, I had some questions: who is the person at the office the girl keeps going to in order to complain about her electricity?; why does a grown up girl living with a boy friend need her mother because the electricity is off?; what is the note that she was reading about Kevin being a murderer? (I now guess that was from these ghosts, but when I was watching the movie, the presence of the note felt completely bizarre.); and why would she trust such a random note?
It shows that you put time and efforts to build an elaborate story. It had a well-conceived beginning, the middle, and the end. The story was quite coherent. It had some nice scene selections as well. Good job!

This was a good story. But the problems along the way made me take it down a notch. With such a great story the small things effect it major. The lights on and off in scene, the jumping around of scenes. I mean ember was on the roof for about 3 seconds. The whole undies problem stuck right out to me. And what was in the box she wasn't supposed to open. Was it mememtos of the two people. Again like another reviewer said how could the police know about him but not do anything. I've been arrested many times and they know were your at most of the time. Hard to hide unless you live homeless.
Overall this was enjoyable with all the small things wrong. The VOs were spectaular. Nothing short of some of the best emotion I've heard in a voice on TMO. This was almost enough to earn you the five stars. The music selection was very good. I can't say more about the story. A very well thought out plot. Like always you've directed something really well. Setting the atmosphere really well.
With a few problems but still a really really great flick.

A chance meeting on the train leads Ember to find the love of her life, and her life is changed forever.
Critical areas:
Plot/Storyline: Good plot, with a well written storyline. A good solid horror story where there is fair character development. The story is written in detail to take us through the daily events and strange happenings.
Editing: Good: Indie type cinematic style used to film this horror. Facial close-ups, focusing on images, concentrating on the daily life of Ember. Good use of scene cuts and switches to produce the nightmare effects and waking nightmare effects. Very good scene choices to create this tale.
Bad: Flashing light problem - There were times when a scene would have light in it and then not (and not times when the power was out and restored), in the office for instance it started out dark then got light all of a sudden. This happened a few times throughout the film. Ember must have been real scared to travel to Kevin's job in her underwear. Costumes - characters needed to change outfits a little more.
Sound: Music choices were very good. Nice use of sound effects. Good VO's although some were low.
Pacing: I know the vehicle you choose to build the suspense and the drama (going through the daily mundane occurrences interspersed with the occasional weird event mixed in with Ember's "visions"). But the suspense didn't build during these periods. I felt like the movie was drawn out and I found myself waiting for the story to move along at some parts. When the story picks up again it is great. You got a "full" movie into your horror, but I think it suffered in pacing by going through too many days.
Overall: A very good, thought out horror. That will keep the suspense and guessing going on until the final sequences. MC truly possesses the skills of a great director and has his own flair for cinematography. For me the suspense ride was hurt because I felt I was in "suspended animation" for a bit too long.

Horror seems to be the genre of choice right now on TMO and the calibre seems to be getting better and better.
This is another mini classic...great story, excellent VOs and awesome atmosphere.
A few minor glitches here and there, mainly audio problems.
The VO for Ember's mother was more comical than 'old lady' too.
But these little niggles don't really affect the overall movie too much and all in all, this is a great little horror tale.

Mildly spooky... Not bad but minor details have great effects :-
Upside:
* Plot is overall ok
* Music is fine
* VOs are very very good. Ember is especially good
Downside:
* God is in the little details: Ember ran to Kevin's office in her drawers? And then when she came back she was fully dressed again?
* Minor disjointment felt when Ember first tries to "take a breath of fresh air" in the kitchen then both her and Kevin are upstairs again...
* Look, It may sound pedantic but please, are you expecting me to believe that the police had the killer traced for months and still didn't do anything until he actually attacked Ember? Where were they when he first cut the lights?
* There's ansolutely no explanantion about the visions of the old couple...
Summary: Well... You guranteed that I'll scream... I didn't even yelp. It's a good movie... but I hope your next one will be better :-)
A thumb up

WOW! This was in deed a very scary movie. Some editing glitches just barely keep this from being a 5 star movie though but still...sheesh i'll probably have to drink myself to sleep tonight after watching that.

I can't say it actually scared me. The story was very good and the editing was well done. Great voice over work and it had a very good atmosphere..
All in all good job.

This movie starts out with some well-scripted dialogue, getting the viewer immersed into the story. It proceeds to get creepier and creepier as the movie goes on, throwing the viewer off then luring you into a sense of security. It all builds up to a great twist at the end.
My ownly beef is that the middle was a bit too drawn out, it could've been shorter. But that's not enough to spoiler this great 5-star movie.

I am a huge fan of horror and this film had it all. Jumps, Twists and an excellent plot to top it off. I loved it! This film did have some flaws (like volume and etc.) but coming from a real life horror director, i can tell you this movie better get to the top or i'm suing.
Good job, an amazing film!

A woman tries to put the pieces together as she is starting a new relationship.
The story was well-told, if a little predictable. The characters were portrayed well, and the voice actors all did a good job. That said, I have to admit that I didn't find the plot or the characters to be really engaging -- they were good, but I just never really connected.
The male lead VO's were a little loud (peaking out on the top), and the female lead a little soft. Also the music suddenly cut out at the start of the first conversation and didn't come back until the last scene. The lack of music was a real atmosphere killer, though I realize that this was probably due to a bug and not your fault. But still it made it hard to get into it.
The editing overall was passable, but nothing really exceptional and several areas for improvement. For example, in the conversation with the repairman putting the repairman and the male lead in the same location. Did she really run all the way to his office in her underwear? The subway stopped vs. stationary, and things like jumping from upstairs to downstairs inside the house.
Good use of sound effects for the dream sequences. In fact, good use of the dream sequences altogether. Try experimenting with different camera shots, such as for the old man and the old woman both had the same close up on their face (twice, in fact). Good use of lighting and fog effects.
Overall, I thought this was a solid horror movie. All the best for the future.

Bookmarked.

First up, horror movies don't scare me. So that being said:
VO/subbies: 9/10: Voices were pretty good. Jackie does some great voice overs.
Flow: 9/10: the story had a lot of smoothness to it, and seemed quite real.
Set Dressing: 5/10: Not any as far as i could tell, nice use of lighting.
Editing: 6/10: A couple of glitches. When the subway stopped at her stop, the background was still going. The repairman's hair changed halfway through a scene then back again. And the convseration between the man and the repairguy could have been alot better.
WOW factor: 6/10: nice story, but i would not watch it a third time.
Score: 35/50 = 3.5/5 = 4 stars (Rounding up at my perogative)Good movie

i wish i didnt have to but i do.
this movie relied on the shock value, that isn't what horrors need. the buildup came, but did it so slowly it sorta seemed like it just floated in, stayed, left. Jackie's VOs needed to be loudened a bit at the start, and PMC's were outstanding. overall it was OK

I really wish I could give 4 1/4 stars. Everything about this film hit the mark with the exception of one or two things involving the dialogue track. Sound effects and costuming were put to great effect. I definitely developed sympathy for your main character. Your plot was entertaining and the ending unguessable.
Although I'm relatively new to TMO, I've been writing stories for many years and have spent this past week in a crash course on sound editing. :) Take anything that you can use from my feedback/advice. Whatever you can't use, feel free to ignore.
First, not all of the dialogue seemed natural. A good way to improve dialogue is to speak it out loud as you are writing it. Often something that looks good on paper doesn't come out right when spoken aloud.
Secondly, the voice track could have used some cleaner editing. Variations in background noise levels and popping sounds between lines were a little distracting.
It was definitely worth the watch, and I look forward to working with you. :)

Pffft! :)

What can I say? Great!
Everything were perfect, but...
Amber voice was too... neutral(?). She was saing "he's the murder" like it was "look...It rains."
But I must give 5* it's just too good movie ;)
