This review is in reference to the entire Dreamtown series. I watched them all in one sitting (and in the case of part one, re-watched), and so my perspective comes from someone who is viewing these films as a single cohensive piece.

With that said, Dreamtown really is in a league on its own, meshing the avant-garde with surreal horror with spagetti western, the film series trudges through the leagues of mediocre genre pictures and arises as some great, beastial pastiche from beyond hyperspace, tearing down everything in its path. Here, Rik_Vargard proves himself a criminal cinema stylist, as he is able to effectively juggle so many disparate threads without seeming confused or amateurish; this, my friends, is the real deal. Visually ripe and full of grand flourishes, Dreamtown knows how to tell a story. The editing, precise with its cross-cutting and demanding with its intensity, builds suspense so thick you could cut it with a knife. And, of course, the music is haunting -- truly befitting of the strange atmospherics of the film.

As far as complaints go... well... some of the character designs and costume choices, while appropriately odd, seemed distractingly absurd, and the stylization and tone were actually hindered somewhat by the hyper-absurd characters; it was as if two pieces of a puzzle did not mesh and were slammed into place forcefully. Some of the in-game sound effects were distracting as well.

But really, who am I to judge? Dreamtown is an incredible journey into the innerspace of dreams. A tour-de-force!

Bravo!! Bravo!!

What a fitting ending to Dreamtown. Music really set things up very well. Lots of nice scene choices and effects. It is a shame that some people may watch this movie and get totally lost because they didn't see the first parts. I hope they don't low rate it because of that.

Dear viewer, if this movie doesn't make sense, go see the first two!!

Wonderful. Loved it, Rik! :)

Excellent conclusion to the now famous Dreamtown series. Brought me back some memories of the original Dreamtown, as you skilfully puppeteer a host of characters to a resounding epilogue. A series that will no doubt be fondly remembered by all of us.

Wow, what a grand finale! Again, you kept up the dreamlike and surreal atmosphere of the first two installments, the music took me literally prisoner, sucked me in and spat me out still wanting more of... everything! More of the atmosphere and the music, more of those great special effects (the angel!)! I think it is not easy to make every part of a series special, you did it! Great movie, a must-see by itself, and as a series an even-more-must-see!

An act of subtle genius, Dreamtown is the peerless execution of a surreal nightmare world both enticing and mystifying. From the first beat of the first film to the last of the last Dreamtown grabs you and takes you beyond the casual experience. Undenaibly powerful, technically exquisite, beautifully constructed -- a bizarre joy to behold and a source of pride to all involved.

(Seriously, if this review doesn't get featured then I'm giving up).

When Bob Dylan sings, 'the answer is blowin' in the wind', what does 'blowin' in the wind' mean? Everyone kind of puts their own spin on that phrase, depending on who they are. Well, with Dreamtown Part 3, Rik has pulled off the same stunt. An ending that raises more questions than it answers, and I mean that in the best possible way, as in like, genius. As Rik told me, 'all the clues are there, you just have to find them'. I'm sure Dylan felt the same way.

As usual, technical excellence, killer music, masterful cuts, all propelling the story forward.

Proud to be a part of this project, which just reeks quality from beginning to end.

An intriguing, disturbing movie with a great script. I was worried that it might not match the first two parts. In fact it surpasses them, answering many questions whilst leaving enough unknown to keep it stuck in your memory, wondering about the exact meaning of it all.
Superb use of mods, excellent editing, fantastic music, sound effects and VOs.
Wonderfull all round.

I orginally put a 4 out of 5 but I add 1 star for Reviews posted on here
To be quite honest, Westerns in TMO are so rare, that they aren't often popular among the community. But this is movie is different. How different? Read on.

This review is for the whole Dreamtown series in general. Dreamtown is a trilogy about a confederate officer who comes to this mysterious town, only to be killed by the sheriff, and find himself in Limbo with other spirits in the town. Now the whole series is about his progression from leaving the town once and for all. The story will keep you at suspense at every turn.

Special effects are dazzling. Rick_Vaguard worked so hard in making this machinima visual stunning. You would instantly be wowed by the intro cinematics and it isn't made with the expansion pack Stunts and Effects. Big plus there. Since TMO doesn't really have a variety of music, he also picked out some excellent music for this film. Music is another great thing in this series. It is often eerie to much with the mystery of the town. Vo's are also a vista listening to, the cast did a excellent job.

There is nothing wrong in this machinima. The only thing I could complain is that he should of place the whole series in one film. This movies was so well done that I'm giving it Pariah's Hot Stuff awards. Congrats Rick_Vaguard and the cast of the whole Dreamtown series.

Wow! Great ending. Was it all a dream, was it twisted reality? It was certainly haunting and atmospheric. The editing was spot on and some of the custom sets and effects were simply stunning. This is the only series of films on TMO that I have enjoyed from start to finish. Fantastic!

In regards to the whole series I must say that this is a titanic achievement, showcasing a truly great script and demonstrating that great ideas can be implemented and the amazing can be achieved. The plot for the Dreamtown series is extremely good and twists and turns fantastically. In all, I would say that part 3 is slightly worse than parts 1+2, yet this is no major criticism, as parts 1+2 were excellent. This must be the most gripping series that I have seen and I would highly doubt that there is a better series out there.

very indepth mood you created there, with the music and acting.
Although i felt lost in some parts (so, as Dylen said below, i had to go back and watch the other two again.) Which really is absolutely neccessary to understand the plot. Anyways, a few scenes didn't work that well in my opinion, especially in the saloon, i think a few more shots (opposite POVs; reactions) would have added a little more "liveliness" there. But overall i enjoyed it and the direction throughout was well laid out. The modded content mostly added to the movie (interesting attempt with this bluescreen/background effect) and in some parts kept me intrigued. the "Thank you-screen" at the very end was a very nice addition and i'd like to adapt that idea for my H3 movie, if you don't mind, i'll credit you (again) in the end-credits then, of course. :)

keep it up, rik

Bonne continuation.

It took me a while to get to the final part to a spectacular series. Normally i'm not a fan of Sci-fi and westerns... But Rik has made me see that there are good points in those genres too as long as it's done real well. of course I'm refereing to Dreamtown but also K7 from way back.

now back to this part of the movie.....
the whole series to me is driven by the atmosphere and mystery. I loved finally seeing the ending, and the ending did not disappoint. No loose ends but still lots of questions.

The Music is once again top notch. People dont give music all the credit it deserves in movies. the music really puts you in the mood and without it I feel this movie would lose alot of the mystery I so enjoyed about the movie. Combined with the great fog effects and lighting made this movie visually pleasing.

I loved this movie and applaud you on creating it .

A very surprising and thoughtout ending to this three-part film. Like the other two episodes, your work gets better and better. You succeeded at getting an all-star VO actors crew to work on this film and the wonderful story makes this film one of TMO's best. The music flowed with the movie and there were some great special effects ! Another great piece of art by Rik_Vargard !

Looking forward to the sequel of k7 !

Encore excellent !

You pulled it off again! I loved the first Dreamtown and you proved to me when I first watched it that you are a master at directing and editing. The second one was amazing as well and I waited until you would make a third one and here it is. I will admit I was worried. Most movies in a series die in quality after the second one, but in someways this was better than the first two. The first one has really shaped the standards of TMO but this one has more of a fast pace to it and combined with the editing and stunning custom sets, this film is another instant classic and the Dreamtown Trilogy will be so far the best Trilogy on TMO.

BTWm you don't need to return a review for my films but if you do I would appreciate it.

I was on the edge between a 4 and a 5, because the ending left me with a little unfufilled feeling. It felt like the story really didn't tie up all the loose ends it could have. Somehow the last part didn't capture me the way the first ones did, but I have to give you this:
You concluded your trilogy in a way that even the casual viewer that might have missed the first installment should be able to get the drift of the story, so bravo for that.

What made this movie not as noteworthy as its predecessors was the custom wwstreet set, while awe inspiring on first sight it never really fit to the rest of the movie.
It seems that it was just me who felt that here was an execellent set used for the wrong type of movie, but opinions on FX differ.

Another thing I had to notice is that the dialogue is not as clear as in the other parts, but that's a minor technicallity that didn't have any negative effects on the movie.

A praise on the story, nonetheless, which I easily can imagine to be spun into a series of sequels further exploring that strange entity DreamTown, so in a ways I guess one could say that my Silent Hill remark wasn't that far off the mark.
You truly managed to create a Silent Hill of its own rights!

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy? This isn't just a "And he woke up cos it was all a dream" movie. There is something sinister going on in the nether world of near death experiences. The Reb has fallen prey to something that collects those that lie in the twilight between life and death, and only a really creepy chick with too much eyeshadow can save him. :)

I forgot to note techinical things about this because I was too caught up in the story too keep track of minutia. This is something hard to acheive even for the top pros in hollywood. Never mind that you did it to ME! As Terakitty can attest, I am not easily surprised or swayed by even the best of movies.

Keep up the good work, and I'll PM you about doing music for my ShadowChildren series.

What happens when 2 of the best join forces? Something truly grand, I hope. :)

After watching the first two episodes over the shoulder of my cohort in crime, steelblade_1, I began waiting - yes, actively waiting, for the conclusion of this series.

This is not a casual stream of sequels... this is storytelling at it's finest. Technically superb... but the kind of technical quality that doesn't call attention to itself - rather it draws you into the mysteries until you forget that the effects are even there.

Bravo!

Editing : 3/4 - Good editing. Only problem I saw was the scene with the two women talking in the beginning, there was a moment that needed a little trimming, where there was nothing being said. The cuts occasionally made the movie a bit hard to follow.
Dialogue :2/3 - Good Voice overs. Heard a little poping from one of the actors early on, but otherwise it was excellent.
Plot/Originality :5/5 - An excellent plot and quite original. Great continuation.
Entertainment : 4/5 - An excellent movie. The only thing I can say was that all the extra flash(custom sets, etc) was actually detracting from the plot. Made it a bit harder to follow at some points, most notealby near the beginning. But everything cleared it's self up later and the movie ended on a solid note. Good job.
Music/Sound :3/3. - Excellent music, fit the mood well.
Total 17/20 - stars - 5 stars - Excellent

I waited long for this one and now it's finally here. I expected that the movie would be good, the movie turned out that it was fantastic.

Let me begin by saying that I loved K7 and you have finally made with Dreamtown 3 the movie which is one the same level. The first two parts were strange but I was someone in the air, not knowing what this movie is now about. Even the story seemed to be after Dreamtown 2, there were still this feeling that something more will happen...and "something more" happened.
First to the little things which I didn't like. The "space" Street looked a bit strange and the traces were awful too watch, but I guess that you couldn't delete those white "traces" (don't know a better for it). Also where the third person get shot, there wasn't a soundeffect for a "shoot", but hey...who cares, right?

Now to the things I liked. That was a hell of. I could write now how much I enjoyed the whole series and that it was complety wonderful & original and I will. The main characteres had all their secrets and that was why they were interesting and this was the reason why the story was interesting. Well in Part 1 the roles were anyhow clear, they got in Part 2 changed and in Part 3 they were really, really "not clear" to me. Applause to you for creating such a great story over 3 parts.

The editing was brilliant. I noticed nothing which didn't fit in, but actually I didn't look for something like that, I just enjoyed the movie, you know. Again you used this nice effect with the "angel" and I remembered when I watched Part 2 I just said "wooow!"
Soundeffects were great too, just like the music. A compliment to the Voice Actors who have all done a great job on this one, I liked most this time Myshinator, she did really an awesome job on the lady in black.

Overall I can say that I didn't expect such an awesome ending. Great ending of a great triology.

About bloody time, I never looked forward so much to a conclusion of a series as for this one, LOL. And it sure delivers! Once again great mood, lots of eery atmosphere. Story wise, it flirts with the occult somewhat, but I hadn't it figured out like this. Great! The voices, sets, costumes and music, what can I say that hasn't been said before... outstanding achievement :)

What can I say apart from a great ending to the trilogy? Again your grasp of music and narrative makes this movie feel very very eerie. Great VO's, a touch of the surreal with the shootout, but never less than mindblowing throughout. Great film!

Nice final for the plot, You've kept the climate from previous parts and still didn't tried to be over-creative.

Very very big shot !

I can't see something bad. The music, the editing, the VO, the costumes and special effects, and the script. I really enjoyed the whole Dreamtown, a different western (if this movies can be called western). This series made you think about all around in there. Great job, Rik. Congratz! :)

It has been a nice journey watching and waiting for the conclusion of this movie and it leaves off on a high.
Watch all 3 to see a series that is another mind playing movies on TMO.
Definately a worth while watching movie.
