Film Description
Enter the shadowy world
of The Light in the Dust,
where death is for the fortunate
~~~
A film by Kate Lee, Lizard & Sherwin Liu
PART I: Corpus Meum ("My Body")
Jon is a man who has lost all that mattered. The life he had once adored taken in an instant with the loss of his wife. Tortured by the sudden and horrifying events of her death, he has lost any hope of making it through this world alone. He soon finds out that there are things worse than death. Part One follows Jon on a journey as he learns more than he could ever imagine about the outside forces that have destroyed all he has cared about.
This movie does not necessarily spell out its story, and encourages the viewer's rationalization of the events that happen on screen. We think enough hints and clues have been provided. But, if you insist in knowing what the plot really is, you can email us at decadentpictures@gmail.com
The motif of the story was conceived by Lizard inspired by Anne Rice???s The Tale of the Body Thief, and the TV series, Quantum Leap.
CREDITS:
Edited by Kate Lee
Original soundtrack composed by Sherwin Liu
Starring:
- Lizard as Jon and Bill and the Being
- Myshinator as the newsradio host
- Yeagmaster as the homeless man
Animations, skin for ???The Being???, stone living room set, custom props by Lizard
Black & white graveyard set from 8EyedBaby.com
Sound effects from The FreeSound Project and FindSounds.com
Poem by Percy Shelley, "When the Lamp is Shattered..."
We appreciate your visit and your sincere opinion on this movie.
This is the defenition of masterpeice. Everything in it was perfect. Only a few movies come out on TMO that can literally take your breath away. This movie is one of those movies. There are only so many things that this movie accomplished. For one it had some great voice overs. Voice overs are a key to success in a movie, and you nailed it in this movie.
A good plot is also needed. It needs some well devolped charcters, and a movie that will keep the audenice tuned in. From the minute the movie started you knew this movie was going to have a great story.
I usually don't comment on sound effects, but this movie deserves to be recognized in this field. It had some great sound effects and special effects.
All the keys to success were here. You had a great plot that didn't get dull. You had a dynamite voice acting line up. Finally, you had some great effects. I think everyone that watchs this will be looking out for the next one. Bravo!
..M..S..R..S..
A movie that woth its length keeps you glued to your seat and leaves you speechless as you marvel at the work of these movie creators.Decadent firt movie debut does not dissapoint.Another collabaration of movie makers to look out for.
S:The scenes and music score ! What was wrong with it ? Well the only thing wrong with it was that there were no mistakes of notice.The mood of the music was so well put together and trully gives this movie its unique atmosphere.A movie would not be a movie without scenes.The placement of them in this movie kept to the pace of what was set out to be.They Keep to what is going on at the right time.10/10
L:WoW ! Voice overs are trully amazing.A big role was required by the voice talent of Lizard and he did not dissapoint.His mood and tone of his voice was outstanding.But a you cannot do voice overs without a dialogue.The dialogue was just superb.If you get ur dialogue right you know the movie is gonna good.You could close your eyes and just picture of what was going on by the dialogue and voice overs.10/10
E:Is this movie entertaining ?Pretty much so,To make a TMO movie 14 minutes long and not feel bored at any time it sure has to be entertaining.Time flew past as i was watching this and at the end it left me speechless as it was over already.A good introduction to this movie that leaves you with the best is yet to come.10/10
E:Oh My The Edting !To sum it up i have to go with Anything so near perfect would be unreal.With out your editing the scenes would have dragged on and on and ........But you managed to give this movie a nice enjoyable pase to which one can apprecitate of what was going on around.It was not too fast nor to slow and it felt to me you had it at the perfect pase in which this movie is going towards for.10/10
T:This movie overall was such a nice experience to see the out come of already well known studios can put together.It is always nice to see others getting together to work on movies and this is one that shows the capabilities of them as a whole and the future looks bright for them !The idea of this movie was well thought out and original.Which i like to see.It ends off with a continuation and one thing for sure is that will not dissapoint if it keeps to the same as this.I really enjoyed watching this movie so i cannot really not give it less than. 10/10
--Overall 50/50 = 5.0
Yet another perfect movie to add to my collection and this surely does deserve to be with them.
This is truly one of the greatest films on TMO that I have seen. Such great composure and authentic composition conveyed, and the style you manipulated all the stylistic elements was truly sensational. And with such a collaboration of highly skilled filmmakers on TMO, this is a production not to be missed..
The Intro was very strong and powerful in relation of setting the prospect. You??ve established the scenery to be bleak and miserable and with superb use of voice-overs and hesitant music. This settled the tone perfectly towards the theme perspective.
Towards the story, all I can say what a well scripted, and directed piece of art. You have certainly delivered something special here. Amazing features in this deep and concerted story. The main protagonist suffering from depression comes to a price, as he ultimately deceive the fact he has lost someone he most loved, and the expressionism of his past comes to haunt him. The progression had great serenity, and the lead up to the climax was so ever dramatic. Intense at the least, but the final scene left the perspective to be as terrifying as it could be.
Voice-overs were clear, precise to the character, and distinctive to the subject matter.
And the custom effects were amazing.. Some great use of Montage of sequences put into perception well and the constant sound effects that were playing in his mind was also an effective component. Just like many other elements in the film.
Overall, a spine-chilling experience from this new association who has made a huge impact with this blockbuster! One of the finest pieces of work to hit the charts this month, and who wouldn't have expected such a hit.. An incredible performance and i'm sure the whole community is very happy with this outcome.
Thumbs up!
Another astonishing piece of movie making from Sherwin and Kate...and with Lizard joining the team...words fail me.
Just when you thought it wasn't possible to squeeze out anything more from the game that has brought us all at TMO so much joy, this is released upon us.
Fresh, inventive, creative...amazing.
From the beautifully haunting soundtrack to little details, so nonchelant that they could easily be overlooked, this is just incredible.
Special mention to the VO cast which were just fantastic.
Decadent Pictures is without a doubt a force to be reckoned with and I eagerly await the sequel.
Awesome and...
A TASTY BURGER!
A true cimematic experience... the cimematography was the best i've seen so far. I especially loved the erradic camera movements. This opening part of the series is only a set up and I feel is driven solely by the atmosphere. Which is the music and lighting effects. The movie is visually spectacular. It did slightly make me focus on the techniques used over the story at times but that is no fault of yours because I was just in awe. Sherwin that music is so perfect for every scene. You nailed it maestro
I didnt feel the connection with the character as of yet.... as we only get a peek into his psychie... and then we're set into an air or suspence as we await the follow up....
everything was done right in this offering... heres hoping you take us for a loop in the next chapter ... for if this turns out to be a basic slasher I'll go crazy after that set up....
what else can I say but BRAVO!!!! you've outdone yourselves... continued success... you know i'll be watching for new and exciting things from this studio..
C.D. Review.
So you wanted my thoughts. Unfortunately Sherwinliu, I'm a little loss for words. I'm truly amazed that a movie of this technical genius could have been made without Stunts and effects. You didn't need freecam, it felt natural anyway.
You are truly a master of film, every moment reeked of veteranity.
Calling this movie flawless seems like such a cliche, but due to the limits of the english language I am forced to relate this accolade here. If in the dictionairy flawless needed clarification, I would present this movie for it to define the very word.
Clever use of music. Especially in the introduction scenes. H
Have I mentioned the acting yet? Spot on. Lizard really knows how to articulate those words in order to give the movie the best effect.
In fact, I loved everyones performance here, which is a credit to you as a director for bringing them all on board.
More or less, pure brilliance.
Watching this movie was on my "to-do" list for months, but I simply couldn't find the right opportunity for it. As a constant viewer of Sherwinliu and Kate Lee's movies, I already knew that it would be a masterpiece, with excellent, heart-gripping atmosphere, deep and intriguing storyline, touching and amazing voice acting and music... but I also knew that I'd need the exact mood, the right opportunity to focus entirely on the film and have a grasp at its hidden meaning.
Now I got this ooportunity and watched the movie. And I'm speechless again... just as speechless as I was when I heard Dr. Terbing's tortured voice at the end of The Afflicted, or when the shattered pieces all came together at the end of Deja Vu.
This movie is pure excellence from the first frame to the last. It is unique not because of it's story - it's a very good story, actually, but not one of a kind -, but because of the way the filmmakers PRESENT its story. The sad, desperate, eerie atmosphere instantly captures the viewer, and doesn't let him/her go until the end. Every scene is a poem in itself, each silent moment tells books. A perfect unity of visuals and sound... which constantly evokes that uneasy, creepy atmosphere in the viewer, the feeling that something is not right, that what we see may ... or may not... be the truth. I simply cannot choose a favorite scene, since each of them is perfect. The talk in the graveyard? The nerve-wracking moments before Patty Lowell's window? The grisly discovery in the cabin (we already knew this, but it still hits us like a train!)? All unforgettable moments.
The visuals are creative, gloomy, haunting. The music fits perfectly, too. The voice actors... well, just like I couldn't imagine a Scorsese movie without De Niro, I can't envision a Sherwinliu movie without Lizard. His voice gives just the right atmosphere, shows us the inner struggle and desperation of the male character better than any scenes. The other voices do the job, too.
My only complaint? I already got accustomed to that Sherwinliu is among those few directors who are thinking of non-English speaking viewers, and uses subtitles in his movies. I couldn't thank him enough in my previous reviews. And what happens now? He forgot to include subtitles NOW, though perhaps this movie has the most difficult language of his works! Well... I had to rewind some scenes a few times to get it well...
Overall, this movie is a genre-defining masterpiece, an instant classic. I must check out the next part... as soon as I get the right opportunity! :)
If you don't mind the clumsy words of an amateur I will try to convey my thoughts about this Movie
First off I didn??t comment right away when I saw it I wanted to see part 2 also
Next I really can??t comment on the quality and break down all the categories
Actually it would be a waste of time Because this Movie was PERFECT in every way
I will admit I am ready to just give up making movies because there is no way I could ever get to this point. My God the story alone is mere genius and the camera work still has my head spinning The ad doesn??t lie this is by far the best movie on TMO
They should actually have an award at the real academy awards Because this would win
I am going to go now before I sound like a bumbling idiot cause I still have to comment on part 2
impressions: WAY too long. special effects come off choppy, a limitation of the technique being used, but didn't add to the film. credits used same technique but were unremarkable if it was not used. narration came off cliche' and dialog overly cheesy.
Overall: (1.5) 2 stars. lacked the draw in factor replaced for FX. Plot lept beyond probability quickly. Similar TMO movies accomplished similar stories more effectively and taking less time. 14+ mins should spell out the plot more effectively.
This is a MESMEP "Hot Picker" Review.
It's like I have been trying to get people to understand since I started working at Moviewood-E -- it is story, story, STORY that makes a movie work. This movie is one of the finest examples of that I have seen. I was absolutely enthralled throughout the film. Your use of camera (and this before S & E, no less), the mood of the music, the characterization of your VOs, a superbly written script -- all of the factors combined to make this one of our most outstanding entries so far.
Was it perfect? Of course not. It cannot be, since you are dealing with part 1 of a series and must, by definition, leave some things unexplained. I also didn't feel the horror I think I should have felt with the murder sequences and certainly had no empathy for the victims, and this is a weakness I hope will be addressed in the next installment.
Overall score
Originality -- 10/10
Story/Plot -- 9/10
Dialogue -- 9/10
Editing -- 10/10
"Wow Me" Factor -- 9.5/10
Final score -- 95%
This may be the only official MESMEP review you receive since most of our judges already reviewed this film. Since all reviews have been 5-star from us, I am pleased to inform you that you may consider yourself an official winner of our plaque. Your movie has already been hot-picked, but the plaque will be displayed in the pages of Moviewood-E! Magazine. Congratulations!
Decadent Pictures has released a stylish, chilling masterpiece of suspense and horror in The Light In The Dust. An exceptional and trilling journey into the dark world of death and murder it is a superb story that grabs the imagination and carries the viewer deep into the hollow hell of madness and twisted murderous desire.
The voice work by the star Lizard is of the highest quality and here he shows us what a great actor he is surpassing other TMO stars with his incredible grasp of character and emotion. What a stunning and rich talent he displays here in this a shinning moment in his TMO career.
The original music by Sherwin Liu moves from hauntingly lovely to chilling. A great score that never overpowers the action on the screen but rather does what a good score should. It feeds the emotion and heightens the suspense to just the right level in support of a fine film.
Fine stellar editing by Kate Lee is displayed in this film and shows just how powerful and important the contribution of a good editor is. Wonderful writing by the screenwriter avoids cliché and rises at times to the level of poetry.
Kudos to the team at Decadent for taking a great leap forward in film style and substance that is breathtaking in its strength and beauty.
A stunning achievement by all involved in the production earns this reviewer??s deepest respect and the MGM Platinum Seal of Approval.
Stylish - very stylish. Engaging and very watchable, a great deal of attention has been paid to the details (details that many other directors miss), and it has really paid off: excellent voice acting, precise and near-perfect special effects sequences, music so fitting that one only half knows that it's there: one could almost forget that it was a "The Movies" film.
My only critism - and the only thing that stopped it getting five stars (I've never given a film five stars so far) - is that what exactly is supposed to be happening to this man is, at the beginning at least, rather unclear: he swaps bodies (and, to some extent, minds) with the serial killer at a graveyard (as becomes quite obvious later on; the impression that I get is that I worked out that he'd swapped bodies with *somebody* later than I was supposed to, but that that somebody was the serial killer earlier than I was supposed to), but that isn't entirely clear at the time, and that later sequence in the graveyard is all a little blurry and confusing.
Apart from that, however, the writing is superb, and the quality of the sound engineering (very often overlooked, with painful consequences) is second to none. If I could give it four and a half stars, I would.
Due to lack of a lot of excitement I found myself drifting away from the movie at times. But overall it was very enjoyable with a great twist.
You are, in one sentence, a master of language of cinema.
The character is very well-drawn and I, as a viewer, felt his confusion and agony. The voice over narration was very well deployed and fitting method to let us see the insight of the protagonist. Many impressive camera tricks and editing techniques are utilized (the first one I saw using dolly zoom).
Your composition at times are understandably uncomfortable and awkward to emulate the uneasy atmosphere. Many different camera angles enhance the mood. The only thing is your camera work is sometimes choppy and rough. If you utilize smoother camera work with bit less extreme camera angle, they could be more effective. The narration of plot is very creative, and it somehow radiates heavy 'philosophical weight of futile existence' kind of feeling.
One of the best movie on TM I have seen so far.
P.S.
I just bookmarked your studio for I have a lot to learn from your works to make me a good movie.
How smart is it?:10/10: A hugely original storyline, one the best plots ever! The characters were deep and believeable, even the hobo who was on for a matter of seconds.
What kind of squeak does it make:9/10: Hugely eerie and chilling in the right places, there were silent bits that imho would of been better with a qiet backround noise (simalar to the piaono playing a few notes slowly near the end) The VOs were truly astounding (Well done lizard!) and suited the characters perfectly.
How well groomed was it?:10/10: First class editting and cutting to achive varoius effects, and i especially like the beggining scene in the graveyard. The custom backrounds were realistic and profensially done (the red thing (a brain?)that jon sits in when his body is bill)
The Acorn Factor: 9/10: This chilled me, made my spine shiver and made me bump my head on the monitor as i was leaning into the movie! All in the space of the first scene! All good signs i think!
Would i mate with it?: 38/40: The best score ive ever given out! I should make a platinum acorn just for u i think! But untill i make that feel free to use the goldern acorn (or throw it in the vault with all the other awards you've got!)PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PM me when the next comes out!
So proffessionaly made was this, that it could of even been turned into a full length movie that I would actually watch. Voiceovers, combined with the music were amazing, the main character was so full of emotion, it felt like this was a geniune person, the actor succefully became someone else. Then other characters started entering, all just as good quality, all just as unique. There's a big difference in all the characters and that is a great acomplishment. Don't think I didn't notice the sound effects, even the little things like the alarm clock, the lightining, the owl, it all added hugely to the atmosphere. The editing was also superb, the effects pulled off to go with the story were perfect. But it wasn't the usual flashy effects designed to distract me from the fact that there was no plot, oh no there was a magnificient plot involved. I could replay this movie in my mind over and over, but I could find nothing to be improved even a little.
This would have to get my vote for the best horror on the site and I think it may even be the best anyone could possibily do with the game.
Wow! What an amazingly brilliant movie. From opening credits to closing credits, this was perfect. I have never seen a story told with such emotion on TMO before. I know people often say that they forget they are watching a TMO movie, but I really did watching this. There are so many great points in this movie, I don't think I can give it justice in my review, but I will attempt:
Audio: VO's were dead perfect. The characters voices were exactly as they should have been. The music fit the feel of the movie like it should have. The extra sound effects like the owl in the graveyard just added to the quality of this movie.
Story: A great story told in a way I didn't think was possible on TMO. This has surpassed anything I've seen before. No corny dialogue. No unneeded lines. Just exactly what was needed and nothing more.
Editing: While I'm not a fan of the whole stop motion look of splicing scenes together and custom backdrops, you were able to pull them off without the jerkyness that they usually bring. The editing was just like everything else. Perfect.
Custom Content: I really didn't see much besides the black and white graveyard I made and some backdrops. I'm sure there were more, but they blended into the story so well, that it wasn't as distracting as most movies where people try to fill the movie's plot holes or bad script with them. They were used in such a way that you didn't even notice them, you just enjoyed the movie because what was used went perfectly with what was needed.
Overall: I always say, the story is what makes a movie great. Without the story, you might be able to dupe people into thinking it's good with fancy mods or slick editing, but those who are really looking at the movie will rate it accordingly. This movie's story was just so amazing that you would have to be blind to not see the beauty with which it is told in this movie. The special little touches like the environment noises, tin can radio talk, etc. just made a great movie even better. I await the next part of this movie like I have never done with any other movie on TMO. You should be damn proud of yourself for the outstanding job you've done. This is truely a masterpiece.
You know what? You do not need a "To Be Continued"! That was a thriller all together by itself. This movie has already answered all my questions at the end. I may be wrong but hey, we all have opinions. In my opinion, the old man killed the main lead's wife. And I bet this old man was a devil. That graveyard was superatural. Also the man lying on the graveyard gave a forshadow to what is coming up in Lizard's life. Take my advice and I believe others think this as well, Don't make a sequal. You might ruin everyone's thoughts by laying out a path for them. If you keep this train of thought "To Be Continued" more and more viewers like me will be a fan of yours.
Comments:
9/10 - Voice Overs: I would give it a 10 for its outstanding quality but I do admit not everyone can be perfect. I could tell it was Lizard playing the old guy and the young guy but not very clear. Overall, good job.
10/10 - Scenes: I admit that your scenes were outstanding. You used other scenes that are not [Crane's,Zoom's, and Static's] to create a sense of horror to the masterpiece.
10/10 - Props: [Dagger, Envelopes, Books, Chainsaws, Shovels, etc.] very well put together. The Analogies were perfect with the sets of props.
10/10 - Perfection: THUMBS UP!
Awesome Voice Overs, they were very easy to hear and understand. The Sound FX were just awesome. The music fit PERFECTLY. The Story was also Perfect. If I could, this would get over 5 Stars, but because of the limitations, 5 Stars!
let's be honest, everything below 5 stars would be underrated here: Great Story, great FX, wonderful and chilling music score, some great special FX and we well chosen cast of VAs that have all done a wonderful job here.
This is indeed an entertaining and suspenceful movie. Beautifully designed end-titles and good direction.
critique? Barely mentionable, all in all it looked and felt really professional.
A perfect joint production. The music matched the mood to a tee, the voice overs were excellent, and the editing was seemless.
The story and overall execution could not be better. The film captures your attention from beginning to end, an impressive feat for a fourteen minute movie, and the ending leaves you wanting for more. You truly begin to understand the main character and his motivations and feel for him. The juxtaposition and cliffhanger ending at the crossroads of his new life is stunning.
The mere glances at the possible protagonist and his haunting words are perfect examples of how to convey horror without being dependant on gore or visual stimuli.
I'm not a fan of horror, which I feel is only one of the many genres this film qualifies as, but this was among the best I've seen; five stars.
Expectations: I've been wanting to review this movie for a long while now and I finally get the chance to do so. With that said, I was expecting something "Decadent" if you will. Something a bit twisted and strange. I've known Kate Lee's directing skills, Lizard's VO techniques, and Sherwin Liu's musical mastery so I'm expecting something grand out of this film. And since it is Part I, I don't expect a complete story but I should get at least some kind of feel what's happening.
**** FRIDAY NIGHT HARDCORE REVIEW! ****
General Summary: I have to say this is one breath-taking movie. I don't think I have ever been so engrossed in such a deep story such as this one. Now I definitely want to know where this movie is going after Part I!
Merits: Gee whiz! Where do I start? My bulleted list has a lot of plusses on it that's for sure!
Well, I did get what I was expecting and that was a great VO performance by Lizard and the two supports, Yeagmaster and Myshinator; the inventive directing of Kate Lee; and the great musical performance by Sherwin Liu.
I've also got hooked into the movie like how an electronically powered magnet can attach to a car and lift it. The use of the modded sets was a plus and I like that. Editing was very tight and I loved how the transformation scenes would blend in seamlessly.
I also like the use of backdrops, such that in the opening title card and the puddle scene. The fading light with the breathing was quite inventive. I also caught on the various camera movements after the lead's transformation. What a novel idea!
In addition to some of the pre-built mods, there was also some minor ones such as the envelope prop. It actually had the name of the person, which I thought was rather cool.
I could probably keep going but I think I'll stop here. This movie definitely has a lot to offer. (base score: 5.0)
Criticism / Questions: I only have one crit here and that would be: Why did this woman die? Was there a motive? I guess I won't know until I get to the next part of this amazing series. (-0.3)
Memorable Parts: Well ... I did enjoy the whole movie, front-to-back. There were quite a few favourite parts of this movie that got me here such as transformation, and the short moments before and after it. The story, as I mentioned before, is definitely something that'll get anyone hooked! Overall, it's shaping up to be a hip series. (+0.2)
Closing: In the end, I'd like to say that I am full anticipating the next part of this grand series by Decadent Pictures. Three may be a company but I think this would be a good company to keep a good look at. Great work!
4.9 (GOLD) -- FIVE STAR HARDCORE FAVORITE!
Music that will leave you with a feeling of being ??unsettled?? as do most movies made by these black cats. The VO levels although more than well done, I am not sure how I feel about. What can I say? Music sound and VO are what do it for me. Some would say I was a cheap date, cough cough; anyway this movie being the second horror movie reviewed tonight I shall go to sleep with nightmares of only wishing to die, well done guys. Your flicks are always top notch, gives me something to strive for, Perfection!
Wow, this is great stuff! Really outstanding on every level. I especially liked the special effects, but most particularly the way they all were integral to the story, never superfluous to it.
Darn near perfect, but I always try to at least offer some sort of constructive criticism. All I can offer is that I've never liked that particular version of the knife prop. Always looks a little fake and "cartoony" to me compared to the rest of The Movies' environment. So, you know, dock yourself 0.0001 stars for that. :)
The dialog, story, cutting, music, and hell just about everything was topnotch. The dialog keeps you watching and wondering just what is going on. The editing was so clean cut and well done that it seemed to run flawlessly. All I can really say is very excellent job.
It doesn't happen often that I can't critizise something in a movie, but The Light in The Dust is flawless in every aspect. Great editing accompagnied with beautiful music and professional VO.
I had a little trouble understanding the story, and haven't grasped what the plot is yet, but perhaps after Pt. 2 it will all be clear. In any event, one helluv a good movie!!
A superb movie, from start to finish.
Excellent intro with the poetry reading and the music to set the mood of the movie before the credits.
The voice actors did a great job, although there was something wrong with the sound quality of the narrator and Bill. It is not major, but enough to make some of the words unclear. The script was very well written in both the dialogue and the narration.
I didn't quite work out what was the point of the homeless man in the graveyard, but his sudden disappearance and replacement by Bill threw me for a moment. Excellent use of special effects, the only nitpicky comments I have is that there would normally be a delay between the lightning and the thunder, and I felt that the camera focused just a tad too long on the ripple effect.
The male lead was well portrayed in his wrestling between the two natures within him. I hate to say it though, but I didn't really find this character to be interesting. This is a bit of a problem, given that in a 14 minute film he was the only character that was developed at all, so if he doesn't totally engage the audience's attention then the movie falls a little flat. The 'twist' wasn't really a twist in that it was obvious (to me, anyway) quite early on, and from that point it was just a case of waiting for the male lead to finally catch on.
There were a few strange parts of the plot that jumped out at me as I was watching, such as: What happened to the homeless man? How did the guy end up in Bill's apartment (how did he know where to go)? How did he miss seeing the letters in the car earlier? (I can come up with feasible explanations for each of these, but they struck me as being out of place.)
But all these criticisms above were offset by the excellent direction through the movie. The pacing of the different scenes was very good, with the major sections of the movie delineated by changes in music, lighting, and general 'feel' of the scenes. It is a superb example of how to create a high-quality movie that throws to the wind all the limitations that plague many other movies.
Overall, I thought this was an excellent movie, with the highlights for me being the music and the atmosphere that it produced. All the best for the future.
Oh my god. Oh my god. My blood feels three dgrees cooler!
The Upside:
* The plot is the finest film-noir horror I've ever seen on this site.
* The VOs fit the characters chillingly, giving you the feeling that everything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Very wrong.
* The music... ugh, I could get shivers down my spine just because of the music...
* Film Noir style is not easy to succeed with. This one did.
Downside:
Is this a joke? What downside?
Summary: The finest Film Noir thriller I've seen in years! Not for the faint of heart! When's the next part out???
Two Thumbs Up, kudos and encore!
As a big fan of the horror genre, this film was more wierd, than scary, to me. But still, I thought this was a very well executed film. The pacing and editing were top notch, as was the VO work. The dialog, for the most part, was well written...But left me confused in a few scenes. Mabey the reason for this is, I'm not a big a fan using poetry, or to much narrative dialog to explain the story. I also really liked the score...It gave the film this 80's b-movie style vibe. Some of those custom tunes were great!! The only downfall to this film was the length...It wasn't to long, it just felt like some those scenes dragged a bit, and could of been trimmed up a tad more, and it wouldn't of hurt the film in anyway. Still with that said, this a great flick, and not to be missed by anyone who likes really well executed movies. - 5 stars
From Critic's Center Hosts Owen and Dr.Davidson with World Pictures
Ruthless promotion, lots of awards, such a great team of moviemakers, there were extremely high expectations.
The title was catchy, really made you wonder what the flick was about. The romance genre was mastered by you, and this was a flawless transition of genres. The Afflicted and Deja Vu were terrible productions compared to this classic.
This flick was extremely creative, not your everyday kind of horror movie. The special FX are what really make movies stick out from the rest, you succeeded with that, making this film one of a kind. The custom music was perfect, seriously, brought in at the right times, never too loud, and never too soft. Added to suspense when needed, and just created the mood when necessary. The voice-overs were very real, extremely convincing, something hard to find nowadays. A collaboration that is worth millions, creating such a masterpiece like this.
Such a great movie MUST receive a 5-Star Golden Performance, a critic's center acquisition like no other.
This movie was one of a kind, chilling, and really leaves you pondering what is to come. A well made flick, that's receiving quite a fanbase. May we congratulate you on your five-star golden performance, and tell you that this is a 5GENRE must-see film!
From Mission: Reviewing Team hosts Jeremiah and Dr. Googlestien
Critic's Center
Opening Statement:
From the onset a very good distributed movie. Love The Afflicted and right now Sherwinliu and now Decadent are making the best quality movies with the best stories. Some of them always have a lesson and that's what's so exciting about them. This was pretty creepy and dark and a bit of turn on Deja Vu. You mastered romance as one of our favorites in that genre and you've taken horror to a whole new level with this one. Nice little thrill spots like where Natalie was about to be killed. That's was a real nice acquisition to this. This music really played along good with this film. The plot was really what made this film come alive. The middle and reading the description was really helpful in understanding this one. The title was eye catchy also. One of the best suspenses we've seen and experienced on TMO.
Requirements:
You guys a Decadent pretty much exceeded all expectations. The creativity was at an all-time high with the custom backdrops, custom titles done with custom backdrops always a nice touch to seperate this movie from others to keep that loyal fan base going, custom music is maybe the best on TMO right now exceeding Suburban Horrors, and the custom mods. The special F/X was amazing. Lizard did a great job and the rest of the VO cast was top notch. Storyline is the thing we grade the hardest in and it was great. A+ for your work on this film guys!
Award/Stars:
At Critic's Center we make sure the studio takes something out of our review and use it towards future projects. We don't just say a few words and leave you with nothing. We give you reality and it always has helped our filmmakers in the past. The mission is reviewing.
Closing:
Sherwinliu and Decadent Pictures you guys made a really great deep film. We know the comparisons of if this was actually better or worse than My Light Has Gone will come. Both have the same type of storylines where the man is dealing with being a widow, but you guys did a great job of just sticking with your heart producing yourself to expand on the movie experience. Decadent you guys have to be the TOP 5 filmmakers on TMO of all-time. Great storylines you guys bring everytime. It was very captivitating and catchy. No real mistakes in this one, but hopefully there's some more action in the next one as the story drags for certain casual viewers sometimes. We love the dialogue in this and you can tell it was well written. We can't wait until part 2.
I believe that it is right to say the Decadent Pictures will, and should be around for a long time. You three have the best, and rarest talents that are available to everyone at TMO, or not. There is directing, writing, animating/SFXing, Voice Acting, and what I believe is the strongest point - music. I truly hope to see alot of Decadent Pictures in the near and distant future, and I can wait to see what you can do with the expansion. Enought of that, let's get into the review!
From a movie watcher's standpoint, this film is all you can ask for. Captivating and riveting storyline that keeps you glued to your seat, voice overs that leave a feeling in you like someone has ripped your stomach out of your chest, music that puts you in the same situation and place as the actors, and that everpresent feeling of - What's going to happen next? I mean, you can't ask for much more than that! I am going to begin with what I think makes this movie twice as good as it would have been without it - the music!
Sherwinliu, you are a highly under-rated musician on TMO, but that is about to change! The soundtrack to this movie fits perfect, and it is clear you made the music to fit the movie. One track was perfect for building suspense, bringing you to the top of what seems like an endless mountain, and the following track just drops you off the edge of the cliff! And this was again present throughout the entire movie! Brilliant work, you have truly inspired me as a musician!
Next, the voiceovers! Lizard3209 is on the rise to becoming the greatest voice actor on TMO! He has that voice that just makes you want more. So ruthlessly evil sounding, but also sounding like it can sooth you. The voice overs made this movie so desirable, and you just wanted to hear more of Lizard! Props to Myshinator and Yeag for the minor roles. But Lizard pushed this movie to be the best it could be, and I don't think any other VA could have done it this well! Bravo!
The editing - stellar! In the words of Christopher Reeve -??A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.?? Lizard overcame the obstacle of making the backdrop animations fit the atmosphere of the film. Every last one, from intro credits to end, were impecible! I mean, the section where Bill's face looks like it's rippling is just phenomenal! Superb job with them!
Lastly, the storyline -the three of you deserve Oscars for that script! This story is one of the best I've witnessed since joining TMO, and I just cannot wait for your next movie, Decadent! You opened up with a simple, yet complex set of scenes, and kept that throughout the whole film. Consistency is key, in almost every aspect of life, and you brought an A+ job of it to the table with The Light In The Dust Part I! I was literally stuck to my chair, finding it impossible to take my eyes off the monitor, and at times I found myself with goosebumps! Not many films can do that. Another strong point, was the unique style of character development. Just when you thought you got to know the character, and his inner workings, you were shot down and forced to rethink of him, in a different light. The Light In The Dust fits to this film in many ways, by which I mean you think you have an answer, but it is just a speculation, because it is so hard to 'see through the dust', metaphorically speaking.
Overall - This movie has outdone the hype it received! No way did I expect this, and I am sorry for waiting so long to see it! I will definately download this, and when I download a movie, it is because I really enjoyed it! I am greatly, greatly looking forward to the next release from Decadent Pictures, and I am behind you three 150%. Here's *The Breakdown*
Originality: 10/10 - From story, to music, to dialogue ... brilliant!
Plot/Story: 10/10 - Do I really need to go over this again?
Subs/VOs: 10/10 - Ditto to what I said for Plot.
Editing: 10/10 - Music, scene selection, animations...simply fantastic!
WOW ME: 12/10 - The coveted all caps WOW ME! You deserve this big time!
Total: 52/10 - Only the second movie to receive the Maniacal Perfect Score of 52/10!
I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS MOVIE!
Encore, encore!
This film is great. I'm sad to say it, but I think this is probably about the best that can be done with The Movies as the technology stands -- so in a sense this movie is both to be admired and pitied.
You've succeeded where virtually everyone fails -- you've managed to combined technology used to its best, with film-making grace, a strong script and powerful voice acting. It is in the bringing together of these elements that you've made your greatest achievement.
I would question though the appropriateness of starting with a poetry reading. This was perhaps a little too art school, a little too intellectually contrived for a film which develops into something much more visceral. This seems to me to be a lack of confidence in your subject matter as much as anything else; a tentative, even reluctant first step from another imagined world into your own.
Every movie on this site is an artistic expression, but few are credibly so and this is one of them.
Jarvis 100 Times Review Section
This is the defenition of masterpeice. Everything in it was perfect. Only a few movies come out on TMO that can literally take your breath away. This movie is one of those movies. There are only so many things that this movie accomplished. For one it had some great voice overs. Voice overs are a key to success in a movie, and you nailed it in this movie.
A good plot is also needed. It needs some well devolped charcters, and a movie that will keep the audenice tuned in. From the minute the movie started you knew this movie was going to have a great story.
I usually don't comment on sound effects, but this movie deserves to be recognized in this field. It had some great sound effects and special effects.
All the keys to success were here. You had a great plot that didn't get dull. You had a dynamite voice acting line up. Finally, you had some great effects. I think everyone that watchs this will be looking out for the next one. Bravo!
The cinematography impressed me most. It is impressive how the team managed to make the tiny set of the graveyard look like a giant cemetry.
Directing was solid throughout, and the music was well-orchestrated, and despite being somewhat unvaried, provides an excellent pedament on which the film's mood is built.
The acting is great on the whole, pronounciation clear, pace fitting.
This is a prime example of a well made movie upon which many budding TMO players should set their sights.
..M..S..R..S..
A movie that woth its length keeps you glued to your seat and leaves you speechless as you marvel at the work of these movie creators.Decadent firt movie debut does not dissapoint.Another collabaration of movie makers to look out for.
S:The scenes and music score ! What was wrong with it ? Well the only thing wrong with it was that there were no mistakes of notice.The mood of the music was so well put together and trully gives this movie its unique atmosphere.A movie would not be a movie without scenes.The placement of them in this movie kept to the pace of what was set out to be.They Keep to what is going on at the right time.10/10
L:WoW ! Voice overs are trully amazing.A big role was required by the voice talent of Lizard and he did not dissapoint.His mood and tone of his voice was outstanding.But a you cannot do voice overs without a dialogue.The dialogue was just superb.If you get ur dialogue right you know the movie is gonna good.You could close your eyes and just picture of what was going on by the dialogue and voice overs.10/10
E:Is this movie entertaining ?Pretty much so,To make a TMO movie 14 minutes long and not feel bored at any time it sure has to be entertaining.Time flew past as i was watching this and at the end it left me speechless as it was over already.A good introduction to this movie that leaves you with the best is yet to come.10/10
E:Oh My The Edting !To sum it up i have to go with Anything so near perfect would be unreal.With out your editing the scenes would have dragged on and on and ........But you managed to give this movie a nice enjoyable pase to which one can apprecitate of what was going on around.It was not too fast nor to slow and it felt to me you had it at the perfect pase in which this movie is going towards for.10/10
T:This movie overall was such a nice experience to see the out come of already well known studios can put together.It is always nice to see others getting together to work on movies and this is one that shows the capabilities of them as a whole and the future looks bright for them !The idea of this movie was well thought out and original.Which i like to see.It ends off with a continuation and one thing for sure is that will not dissapoint if it keeps to the same as this.I really enjoyed watching this movie so i cannot really not give it less than. 10/10
--Overall 50/50 = 5.0
Yet another perfect movie to add to my collection and this surely does deserve to be with them.
Beautiful.
It's such alot to take in that, for once, I`ll resort to the old "department by department" that some other reviewers use:
Atmosphere: the lighting and judicious use of music; and indeed the excellent mixing of the voice actors created a cohesive dark atmosphere that could almost be smelled.
Acting: Gravelly and consistent - with no issues to do with one person's voices sounding different in quality to the other person. The performances were excellent with no hint of the usual e-mailing of lines. This was acting, not reading off a script.
Special FX: need I bother ... unless you've not seen the film yet. I gave the film an impromptu standing ovation during the first minute! That should be enough reason alone. Given that many "tech demo"s get 5-stars by the dozen. Here's a tech demo you won't forget - because it's part of a story for once!
Script: Great lines. Somebody knows how to write here (and credit to the actors too for delivering the lines so they carried the weight they deserve). I`m not sure what's going on at all in terms of the story - but that's actually a compliment in this case. It's like watching the best episodes of LOST.
Sound: All the sounds are clearly placed where they need to be placed. Some of them seem to have been imported from outside the game for maximum effect.
Editing: oh dear. oh deary me. Shocking. Just shocking. How can anyone turn this dismally badly programmed and bugged game into the visual feasts we see hear?
There aren't too many well paced scenes available ingame - but through superb editing, that's what we got here. Barring all the fireworks in the visual effects - the editing to make each scene as long and languid as it needed to be was exemplary.
Music: As a musician myself,I promise to watch and rate any film on this site that involves an original score. This score was terrific. It came in at all the right places and I actually cheered the opening piano chord! Because, for the first time, I recognised that there was a musician intimately involved in the film.
My only minor criticism of this film is to do with the music. The string sound was not the most authentic. If the composer's keyboard has the capability, it's worth editing the sound so that the attack is reduced. Then add a touch more reverb. I have knobs on mine that allow me to do that on the fly.
Overall then - an outstanding piece of work.
Please PM me when part II is ready - but don't rush it out. The last thing a film like this needs is an inferior sequel.
This is truly one of the greatest films on TMO that I have seen. Such great composure and authentic composition conveyed, and the style you manipulated all the stylistic elements was truly sensational. And with such a collaboration of highly skilled filmmakers on TMO, this is a production not to be missed..
The Intro was very strong and powerful in relation of setting the prospect. You??ve established the scenery to be bleak and miserable and with superb use of voice-overs and hesitant music. This settled the tone perfectly towards the theme perspective.
Towards the story, all I can say what a well scripted, and directed piece of art. You have certainly delivered something special here. Amazing features in this deep and concerted story. The main protagonist suffering from depression comes to a price, as he ultimately deceive the fact he has lost someone he most loved, and the expressionism of his past comes to haunt him. The progression had great serenity, and the lead up to the climax was so ever dramatic. Intense at the least, but the final scene left the perspective to be as terrifying as it could be.
Voice-overs were clear, precise to the character, and distinctive to the subject matter.
And the custom effects were amazing.. Some great use of Montage of sequences put into perception well and the constant sound effects that were playing in his mind was also an effective component. Just like many other elements in the film.
Overall, a spine-chilling experience from this new association who has made a huge impact with this blockbuster! One of the finest pieces of work to hit the charts this month, and who wouldn't have expected such a hit.. An incredible performance and i'm sure the whole community is very happy with this outcome.
Thumbs up!
Quite an atmospheric thriller, with an intriguing plot. Our protagonist has, indeed, glimpsed something in the dust that is infinitely worse than death, and the film-makers have done more than a magnificent job in bringing this tale to light.
You've raised the ceiling so high, how are the rest of us going to catch up with you? Please, viewers watch this movie more than once as it is very complex and clever. Intriguing story. Look forward to the next part.
This is undoubtly one of the absolutely best pictures on TMO. A perfect blend of Film Noir and pure horror.
The one who wrote the music should do it as a profession! That is an order given to you from a Swedish army corporal! It not only suits the scenes, it gives you that icky mood you get when seeing a really mentally killing thriller.
Editing and screenplay, well, what do you say. You take full advantage from the game's movie engine. Every scene fits perfectly!
Voice actors, are you pro's? Because it damn as hell feels like it! How much did youre sound-equipment cost anyway?
Im eagerly longing for part 2. Meanwhile, you can watch and rate The Burding Cargo! It's far from as good as this one, but hey, you would make my day! :-)
Boy did that creep me out!
As I've said before, phycological horror is the most effective way to make horror movies on TMO. This film is an excellent example of that.
I hate these kind of films because they really creep me out bad. But at the same time the story was brilliant. You guys certainly built the tension and suspense.
I totally forgot that this film was made using the Movies. Fantastic, Decadent Studios has a great future!
The good:
excellent story and plot.
Good use of dramatic effects to impart the mood.
Added affects including the titles was well done and skillfully crafted.
Music was a good addition to mold the mood, and quite effective use of sound editing to time it just right.
The "not so good":
The story was a bit "over written" in parts of the narration. The melodrama of it was a bit more than was needed. There is a balancing act between a narrative dialogue from the storyteller to telling the story with visuals. You weren't "too far" into the melodrama arena, but it was close. But, the good part is that once it looked like it was about to go over the top you started the interactive dialogue and brought it back down. I always like Hemmingway's rule: the story is the part of the iceberg below the water. The part of the story that is written is the part of the iceberg that is above the water; it alludes to what is hidden beneath.
I'm still doing 5 stars becuase, quite simply, this was a "real" movie. It is effort like yours that show what you can really do with this "game".
I??m deeply impressed by this work. You managed to build up a really amazing atmosphere. The Story and the idea behind are fancy. How is it that people can make such effing brilliant movies and I keep making generic crap? :P Anywho, the movie was well done and the effects were great. The story was original and thought provoking and I got really interested in the characters. You bring out the humanity in pixellated characters amazingly.
Nice atmospheric piece. I liked the fact that this fellow was caught in a perpetual night. Some great effects too. the animation in the titles are great. The editing is pretty spot on too. No real glaring errors or distractions.
While the story was interesting I did find the dialogue a bit... well a bit too much, some times it was strict exposition that seemed unrealistic such as the conversation in the grave yard other times a little too over the top in poetic imagery. This is just my personal opinion so take it for what it is.
The pacing also skirts the edge of dramatic license. I think in the end you stayed on the right side of teh tracks but be careful that the long dramatic pauses don't come too frequently or last too long.
My last criticism might be in the face changes. Once or twice as a flash for effect (especially in a mirror scene) works fine. Too many times for no reason and it loses its power. Trust the audience to understand what has happened and accept the new face if he is indeed trapped in this new body let him be so.
Those harsh words aside I have to say it is still all in all a very impressive piece of work, technically and stylistically. I look forward to the next one!
Bravo! The sheer volume of editorials disguised as reviews already written on this piece is a testimony to its impact on the community.
Technically speaking, between this and "Headless Horseman" by Double D Productions we have broken new ground in technical precision and subtlety. Without a doubt the music engineering and VOs are on point, and one can only imagine the time it took to get everything "right" for this film. Scene editing is so intertwined with the story telling that one doesn't realize the mastery involved until the tale is done told.
The story is one after my own heart. Ironically, it brought to mind my own film, Dark Snowflake, in the essence of two hearts and minds conflicting in one entity; in short, the Doppelganger. Unfortunately no one got that in my film. ;-)
So who are these two, and what are their respective motives and history? I have my theories. I'm sure a thread will be up soon in regard to interpreting this film and guessing the avenues tread in the next installment. As one reviewer noted, it leaves more questions than answers. That, my friends, is what a good film of this genre ought to do. On the other hand, if you pay attention, some things definitely leave a trail.
Lizard is now officially part of the voice actor's club, along with Dulci, Sleeves, et al. An engaging performance by all parties involved.
Again, great work. Looking forward to the next installment.
========================
Well Let me be one of the people to write a big nice review on this movie. First of all I was hooked from the start! With the awesome music and the low voice You would have to be stupid not to watch this movie! I Still can't quite understand why this movie ins't in 2nd or 1st place? Special effects also added to the score. Loved how you retexturized the couch to red in the living room. Also I could tell you used alot of static screens. But really thats the only way to get special effects in their. The Story plot has also kept my intrest. Although some parts of the movie might have been overdramatized.But still it was keeping be awake and wanting more....so thats good! My personal favorite part was when the lighting was changing the guys flesh to a light blue while falling! Great Stuff! Vo's Were also good too! Good low voices added to the suspense! WHY CAN'T PEOPLE START MAKING MOVIES LIKE THIS? Sometimes I feel myself sad and depressed because no one ever puts time into there movies! While technically perfect, i found the story longwinded. The slow monotone narration added some kind of overdramatized dragging sensation. But i do get that this dude just had somekind of transmigration so he'd be worn out to say the least, but still too slow paced. All voice acting was incredible, but they really took second place to the visual effects which were flawless.
The good thing about watching this movie is I have never read the Ann Rice novel (much to someone I knows disgust) nor been into Quantum Leap. I think this means I can offer an opinion on this film without referring to these influences, and perhaps shed light on what may have influenced them. For some reason the film took me back to University and Jungian Psychoanalysis. I can't remember the exact terminology used but it was something about us all having a dark side (it was Jungs way of explaining a similar idea to Freud's Id, Ego and Super Ego). I suppose a horror comparison would be Jekyl and Hyde.
Now back to the movie. This movie creates a fantastically horrific and surreal world (the cuts in the graveyard are out of this world). The main character/s co exist and we see a journey of discovery unfold which is narrated like a fifties detective movie. This journey is exceptionally well executed and the viewers attention is gripped (the script and dialogue are almost hypnotic). The sets are superb, the music at times haunting and the editing tremendous. All in all a very effective and enjoyable chiller and I expect that more terrific horror is to come in the next installment.
Quick Review: Outstanding piece you have crafted here, a very excellent and polished movie. Really I could find no fault in any area, the VO, music, editing, production, no thing wrong any where. If there was to be one thing that I didn't like that would be the story/plot, I found it hard to follow and I take it you have done it for the viewer??s discretion. Some will love this type of movie, others I'm sure will hate it and I??m in the middle ground.
Even though it is not one of my personal favorites, it is still an excellent movie and deserves all the reviews and respect it gain.
A brilliantly TMO made movies up there with the best well done - 5 Stars from me :)
Fantastic movie. The editing and music are, as is to be expected, top notch. They set a fantastic atmosphere and mood throughout the film, very creepy and suspenseful.
The plot is amazing. The whole time the audience has to try to figure out just what is going on, while taking in the masterfully written dialogue. Great job.
Wow I am so glad that I was on your mailing list for this movie!
Well what can I say it was fantastic, one of the best I have seen on here and if this does not reach number 1 in the charts, then their is something seriously wrong with the community, that was so entertaining that even my mates came in to watch and when one of them got a phone call they were like "pause pasue wait for me"
Everything about this movie from the beginning to end was grabbed my attetion, in fact from the very first minute I could see that such detailed and hard work into making this movie, its like Leonardo Da Vinci and his art work!
Storyline/Plot: Fantastic storyline and plot and I seriously can't wait to see the next one. You have ended this film very well, as it is like a puzzle that we are peacing together! The story line is very complex and detailed in which you have to follow carefully as there is so much detail and so much complexity with the main character. At one point in time you feel sorry for him but then your view towards him changes which I thought was superbly done!
Scripting: The whole script was fantastic and the dialouge came in at just the write moments, the beginning was excellent with the poem as an introduction as again it grabbed my attention and really hypnotised me! Fantastically layed out to not too much dialouge and not too little! Fantastic work
Editing: Well what can I say that I havent already said, awsome editin. The use of angels anf fast movement was fanatastic and was used well in the effect of the guy looking around. Some fantastic angel shots there too and brilliant brilliant effects used, with the changing of characters spot on and flowed so smoothly! Excellent job!
VO and Music: Wow fantastic use of VO and music especially using them together was done well and added a lot to the atmosphere and tension of the film! The Vo were clear crisp and smooth and were just fantastic, the music again ,magnific
Custom: Loved the custom titles and effects, what more can I say you guys deserve all the 5* you can get fantastic. Totally adds originality
Overall: Fantastic, superb, maginific, Excellent, Perfect, Asome film thaty deserves to be in the charts for all the hard work. I appluad to you all well done, I look forward to the up-coming films!
Good Luck and keep up the good work
Absolutely riveting, breathtaking, amazing. The list gos on and on. and as this movie shows a man deprived of all he had. but then he wished, for something he wanted but didnt know could come true. as he was consumed by a spirit perhaps of the devil.
and clearly belonging in the horror genre wirhout a doubt. And this film amazingly deserved this 5 star review. Though there was not enought story for me to know exactly what happened. though the ending was at the perfect spot and was an excellant cliff-hanger. and especially the scenes the fit like pieces on a jigsaw. so amazingly perfect as if the creators knew you were to make this movie and put these certain scenes there.
well as you may know i also do want a review from you. it would help greatly for my new horror film coming up soon called "stay alive" anyway please rate my movies. And once again a riveting film. congratulations on it and you will for sure be hearing from me again :)
2) Music was spot on, it helped support mood and feeling and near the end there it holds us to the revelation.
3) FOLLY!!! I loved it (stairs and knife drop mainly)
4) Cutaways. Well placed and well done!
5) Story Oh please PM me when the next one comes out, this is my type of movie!
6) VO's Kudos to them they all fitted well and where crips and clear and 'Suited' the characters.
Another astonishing piece of movie making from Sherwin and Kate...and with Lizard joining the team...words fail me.
Just when you thought it wasn't possible to squeeze out anything more from the game that has brought us all at TMO so much joy, this is released upon us.
Fresh, inventive, creative...amazing.
From the beautifully haunting soundtrack to little details, so nonchelant that they could easily be overlooked, this is just incredible.
Special mention to the VO cast which were just fantastic.
Decadent Pictures is without a doubt a force to be reckoned with and I eagerly await the sequel.
I would like this review to be fantastic and explain all I loved about it but that would mean retelling the entire movie.
Nothing short of blockbuster material the combination of talent here is obvious and nothing short of amazing. The story is amazing all on its own with out all the little extras that??s not to say they don't make a wonderful story an amazing film cause they do.
I am really at a loss of words, other then to say "I can't believe I have to wait till the next one grrr"
I hate it when just as your getting into it .... to be continued shows up.
What a collaboration! Sherwinliu, Kate Lee & Lizard....all three of you need to pat yourself on the back for creating one of the best (if not THE best) movie on TMO! I don't know where to begin....this may have topple off my best movie on TMO which was (how freaky is this!) your previous cult classic, The Afflicted. This goes to show that Chat Noir is my favourite studio and with the talented Lizard on-board who I have enjoyed his "Lift Chroncles" series, has been inspired to do such a quality movie-telling experience.
Firstly, the storyline.....just wow. This was what I liked about "The Afflicted" as the movie was thought-provoking, just like this one and you couldn't lose concentration on this one or you will miss something big, not even a blink was allowed while watching this. I can see why afew people may of not understand the story quite well but I think Kate Lee has done probably the best editing I have seen on TMO! I'm jealous of how effective she did to allow an audience a more understanding of what was going on which I thought she did extremely well!
This isn't your typical horror movie as the beginning was quite good which was a nice build but once it "really" started in the graveyard, we see poor Jon's life about to change for the worse....and as if his wife being murdered wasn't enough. I don't want to give it away as it is a joy for the audience to understand the story to receive a awarding experience of watching this great start which looks like one of the best series on TMO!!
The VO was spot on! Kudos to the three VO and also very nifty special FX as that demon figure is pretty scary. The music done by Sherwinliu fitted really well with this movie and I think he is sometime over-looked as he does create some of the best original music on TMO. As for the genre of it being the horror, I thought the ending was extremely creepy due to the character's thoughts and the final conclusion of what has happened.
Overall......well, what can I really type to describe this movie? Just pure greatness in story-telling, or marvellous editing which moves the story so effectively or the fact that it is one of the best experience and awarding movie I have had watched! Fantastic, a must-see movie and part two must come as soon as possible. BEST. MOVIE. PERIOD. Great job DecadentPictures!!
I can see the influences which shaped this work. This is a great collaboration where the idea, this clay framework, was carefully molded and sculpted into a great work. Each craftsman working on there part to shape, polish and present to us a finished product which has each artist's signature.
Critical areas:
Storyline/Plot: Well written storyline for a plot with inner complexity. The plot is a very difficult one to understand and follow (conscious/ sub-conscious/ inner being/ self) the identities which remain and the ones that are foreign and the other self. We must wait for the upcoming films to help solve the problem. The influences which helped draw upon this story helped me to follow what is going on but the clarity may not be there for all the viewers.
Editing: A good Chat Noir trademark is their excellent scened editing which continues here. The stylish use of shots and angles are enhanced with the animated effects. The customized use of props and sets help to individualize Jon and Bill's world. Musical score was well orchestrated for the film and the vo's were superb.
Overall: A very well done film, which kept my interest peaked to the end. This film left me with more questions than answers, which is good if you want people to watch part 2, but may also be the one area which people won't be able to put their finger on the "something about this movie that didn't feel right"
I loved the special effects - not overdone - just enough to get that added emphasis through. The graveyard scene was excellent. The two Chat Noir films that I saw were more than films but experiences and this follows in the same vein. Lizard made a good addition to your collaborative team, or Chat Noir made a good addition to Lizard's talents (however you want to look at it, the formula provided an excellent product that the viewers will enjoy).
That`s the kind of horror movie that I expected from the collaboration of high quality storytellers that is "Decadent Pictures"!
No ordinary scares or obvious monsters here. Instead the movie provides pure atmosphere while the creators take the viewer on a slow journey to explore the monster within.
It`s not easy to comment on the story since this is the first part of a trilogy, but it sure is imaginative and captivating. A great thing is the style of the movie and the perfect feel for touching characterisation. I`m sure that some people could`ve told a similar story, but not with nearly the same intensity.
On the technical side there`s also nothing to critizise and alot to praise. VO, cuts and especially the music made it very easy to forget the length of this movie. And I`m sure a viewer reaches the 14 minute mark, he`ll want this movie to go on!
At least I could`ve continued to watch the next two parts right away. You definitly got my attention for parts 2 and 3!
WOW! This is a truly cinematic film. You have clearly put a lot of work into it and it shows. Everything about this film looks well thought out and proffessionally executed.
The SFX are used extremely well to enhance the story but without it being anything like a tech demo. The custom music is great and really sets a great atmosphere. The voice overs are perfect.
You know, I can't actually think of any constructive criticisms to make about this film, amazing movie, I can't wait to see part 2. A definate 5 stars!
Utterly disturbing...
This movie is obviously well thought out and executed, use of custom efects and soundtrack accentuate an uneasy morbid mood that dominates the movie and the simpple poetic dialogue is perfect.
I am not a horror fan, in fact horror and slasher type films disgust me but it's obvious to me that this is a rare work of art. You get five stars from me.
You really know how to capture a person attention. I am a huge Fan of Horror, but even more of Gothic Horror and you have made a Great here. It Classic in all aspect as in you capture the tormented man and even more you added to his torment. Now not only dose he greive for his wife but Now to find out what he is just Great! Now I have been watch movies all day long. And Still this grabed my attention so much that when it end I just wanted to scream More More. Your use of Music and actors, Set and Costumes, I just amazing.
This is what a Horror movie Should be. I have Only one question, Do Teach any type of Horror Makeing Calsses?
A pretty nice piece of work here. Where to start... Music. Top notch and dead on the whole way. Pretty sure this was composed by Sherwinliu for the movie and it shows. In my opinion the music really carries the movie.
Effects, very top notch. As I have said before Lizard if my favorite FX guy. But there was a bit of a problem in my eyes, that being the fact that you frontloaded all the good effects. The ending lacked that bang that made it all worth watching.
The weak point (and I am nitpicking) to me was the story itself. It banged in the beginning and fizzled at the end. This is most likely due to it being a 3 part movie and being cut into 3, as opposed to written as 3 episodes. Not a big issue, but it explains the fizzle.
My rating hovers around a 4.5. That leaves me room for the next parts to be better. :) This is a very well made movie that deserves to rise to the top.
I am trying to think where to begin with this movie. The presentation was very well done, really gave me the feel that I was actually watching a real life movie, so thats always a plus. The VOs were spectacular and the editing was very well done as well. Some of the effects were absolutely amazing and well executed. But why do i feel this emptiness in my stomach as if i wasted 14 minutes....I thought the plot was good and the dialog carried along nicely with the music that really set the tone for the movie, but why cant i rate this 5 stars? After pondering for a little while ive come to the conclusion that i think i became lost with what was going on with this one. I mean i followed that he was thrown into the body of a twisted killer....but that was way before the ending, so when it got there maybe i was just a little let down. It felt like you were telling a great story, but the story could have been ended(This leg of the series) 5 minutes earlier....so i guess i became bored and less entertained. I do look forward to see what happens next though.
Other than that it was a great movie like i stated above...4 stars!
Editing : 4/4 - Excellent editing. Only thing I found a bit weird was the scene where he was looking at the woman through the window. Wasn't sure what all the close ups of the various body parts was about, but it's not something I would mark down for.
Dialogue :3/3 - Great voice overs. Crisp clear and fit the characters very well
Plot/Originality :5/5 - Interesting plot. Fairly original. Great job.
Entertainment : 5/5 - Held my interest throughout the entire thing. Looking forward for the next one. Overall a very profesional looking movie.
Music/Sound :3/3 - Nice custom music, enhanced the mood very well.
Total 20/20 - 5 stars - Excellent
Critics Center Review
Well first off let me just apologise for the lateness of my review, i did watch your movie a couple of hours ago, but i decided to wait a while before i did my review. I wanted to stop and think about this movie, a very good sign since i have only ever done this to two previous movies, two previous movies that were ver, very good and have ended up being two of my alltime favourites on here (Black Widow and King Kong 1940). So then what did i think of this movie? Well as a director of horror myself i can safely say a definitive WOW! And by Wow i mean this was absolutely amazing, pure brilliance. A masterstroke in the horror genre. While people will lap up the Legend of Sleepy Hollow this is a definitive horror and not a well crafted period piece. This movie had pieces of nerve shredding scenes, won't give any away because they need to be seen to be believed, that and i don't want to give away any spoilers or shocks in this review.
Okay then i will now go slightly more indepth, what did i like about your movie? Well i didn't like anything, i loved it instead. The Voice Overs worked wonders, they were creepy and well realised, the dialogue was excellently crafted as well, the voices just seemed to spit out these pieces of dialogue and actually reminded me of something out a real movie. Also this is a rare long movie that i actually feal the length benefited it. Many long movies are basically good plots stretched the limit, this movie however had a perfect running time. Neither too long nor too short. The plot was allowed freedom to breathe and left me struggling to breathe due to the sheer anticipation of the movie. It was thrilling, this nightmarish world just opened before my eyes and i was left not only gagging for more but had me sitting on the edge of my seat literally tearing myself apart about this movie. This is a masterpiece, easily falls into my top three. The rest of the Movies Online are mere scenes strung together compared to this movie. Sure it has special effects and some amazing custom stuff, but it is the plotting and the sheer brilliance of the characters that bring this movie to life.
So was there anything bad, only thing i could hate about this movie was tht you could make something this good and i cannot even compare to it. Not something critical just that i envy your talents for this movie. I hope this does extremely well because it not only deserves to it must do well. This earns an 02 APPROVED, but it deserves more than that even, i just hope this movie is watched and adored by people as much as i habe adored this film. Great work!
Let me tell you a story:
Earlier this year, there was a man of around twenty four years of age who stumbled upon this website ?? themoviesgame.com ?? and became quickly obsessed with the concept of a do-it-yourself video game application for moviemaking. He didn??t even play video games anymore ?? such things had been resigned to his past like light refracting off the arch of a dying pampas tree. But for about a week, he holed himself up in his room, watching many movies ?? some good, many bad. Some were funny. Some were scary. Many intrigued Chuck (for Chuck was this young man??s name). Anyway, late one night he came upon a film entitled The Afflicted ?? made by some guy named Sherwinliu, based on a short story penned by a woman named Kate Lee, and starring some bloke calling himself Lizard. It was longer than most of the film??s Chuck watched that evening, but he decided to click on the link and watch anyway. Approximately sixteen minutes later, Chuck had been whipped through a veritable whirlwind, mouth taut, goosebumps rippling on his flesh like a thousand pale pebbles, wheezing from the emotion, breathless and totally awe-struck. Tears streamed down his eyes ?? never had he seen a digital creation that touched him so much. He immediately ran out and bought the game, keeping this film in mind, aspiring day in, day out to make a film of this caliber.
Now, with a couple of films under my belt ?? neither of which come close to The Afflicted, mind you ?? I now stumble into the shadowy, claustrophobic world of Light in the Dust, the latest collaboration from the triumvirate that once provoked such an overpowering reaction from your humble narrator ?? and the familiar and overwhelming catharsis strikes me again, making these shoulder heavy, eyeballs misty, and lips dry. When this concluded, I applauded until my hands, swollen and red, went numb from exhaustion. I took a walk, smoked a cigarette, and looked back in anger at the clumsiness of my own films; I had a new idol to aspire to, and the road to reaching that goal would be a long and treacherous one indeed. This, truly, is inspired and inspiring movie-making, walking the razor??s edge between the beautiful and the sublime. Like the Shelley poem that precedes the film, the narrative unwinds in a languorous fashion ?? drifting like smoke in shadow ?? and penetrates our darkest phantasies (as the Romantics would have called it?), forcing us into the nightmarish world of demons, doppelgangers, and lost identities. Written with an impregnable grace, the poetry of the language spears through the viewer, an effect aided exponentially by Lizard??s haunting performance(s), which grinds at the soul with the sort of ghostly intensity that drum-drum-drums upon us. Visually, the poetry only continues ?? lingering establishing shots melting into long, intimate close-ups? the rolling mist and nightmarish lighting? the subtle exchange of glances. For many moments, my heart stopped just from the poignant beauty of this film.
Why am I telling you this story when I should just post ??great film, review mine?? and march my way back into the forum??s where the process would rather-rinse-repeat? Because when I see cinematic artistry on this level, I feel compelled to stand up and shout to the heavens ?? I want to tear through the armies of self-important critics and tell them that near perfection has been achieved. This film will undoubtedly be seen by many other Chucks and Chuckettes around the world ?? young men and women whose interest about some silly movie-making software has been piqued ever-so-slightly. They??ll zip their cursor right unto the ??play?? button and, as if by chance, they will be transported into the dark pockets of a narrative that shatters all perception of what can be done with this software. They??ll watch. They??ll learn. And they??ll spend countless days trying to top it.
A darn you people, once again you have me hooked on a series of yours, but unfortunately this time I can't go and rush for the other parts to find out to where this is headed.
I'm bound to say 'A plague over both your houses' but then I would neve find out what gives, now would I?
But let's quit the joking, this was an awesome start with excellent VO and great effects.
Unfortunately it seems to be impossible to talk about the virtues of this movie without spoiling it for other viewers, so there is nothing left to say for me that hasn't already been said.
Well, I think that is the hottest first release of a new collaboration since Silver Fox Studios released Blackbird.
The movie was freaky, strange and was just there to entertain the viewer and catch him into the dark atmosphere this movie has.
The plot is strange and I needed my time to understand it. Actually I think I understood what the movie is about in the last minutes, but maybe I am completly false. Who knows. As far as I can judge about the plot now, I think the best word to describe it would be unique. The Beginning created a dark atmosphere which such a horror movie needs. The piano music and Lizard's words introduced the viewer perfectly into the movie and I was hooked on this movie in the first seconds. The directing of Kate Lee was perfect in the Intro, it fitted perfect to the music and the script. And the effect with the face, yeah, Lizard is definitley one of the best special effect man out there since Lift Chronicles 2. Well, yes, I just love this intro...
As awesome the movie starts, as awesome it continues. In the following minutes the music and the script work perfect together. Kate's choose of scenes fit together like there would be already the free cam avaiable. The scene with the breathing and the light is my personal favourite scene, it was just awesome to watch...
After the incident on the graveyard the movie gets more and more stranger. The special effects arn't important anymore, the script and the directing are the only things which sell. I was very confused on the whole thing...he is in his body or what, I asked me when they watched the girl.
Until there I begun two understand the plot a bit, well, actually I think I understood it, but I guess it's complety false.
Well, as I said I am not sure about the plot and I love that about the movie. I am looking forwad to Part 2.
Oh and one more word. I exceptet actually that this movie would be a little bit boring...you know, talking about death and such stuff, we have all heard it before, but you surprised me. You made an very, very, interesting movie about death, which kept the whole way through my attention. The presentation was just like the plot really great too: music, voices (all you guys were great), effects, directing. Awesome work on this one!
One of these movies which left you with the open mouth. Everything is superb in this one. The editing, the frame-to-frame animations, the Vo's (congratulations to all the actors)... well this movie marks high standars. I liked a lot the editing cuts in the cemetery, when the character falls into the tomb.
The most important thing I like about the movie is the story. It reminds me to David Lynch sometimes, but in a very personal way. The horror is palpaple, the feeling of discomfort... The atmosphere of a nightmare.
This movie deserves a 10 star rating. No doubt.
I saw a very good shot for most of the scenes, it can tell that Kate has the talents of control camera works, that was amazing!
The only two things I have to mention is, you can always try to let the scenes to tell the story, narrations are goood but the lesser it used the better. Second was the tempo of the movie, maybe it was just me, make the pacing faster a little lit would be better also.
Keep up the good works! Bravo!
A true cimematic experience... the cimematography was the best i've seen so far. I especially loved the erradic camera movements. This opening part of the series is only a set up and I feel is driven solely by the atmosphere. Which is the music and lighting effects. The movie is visually spectacular. It did slightly make me focus on the techniques used over the story at times but that is no fault of yours because I was just in awe. Sherwin that music is so perfect for every scene. You nailed it maestro
I didnt feel the connection with the character as of yet.... as we only get a peek into his psychie... and then we're set into an air or suspence as we await the follow up....
everything was done right in this offering... heres hoping you take us for a loop in the next chapter ... for if this turns out to be a basic slasher I'll go crazy after that set up....
what else can I say but BRAVO!!!! you've outdone yourselves... continued success... you know i'll be watching for new and exciting things from this studio..
What a studio debut! This is worthy of a commercial theatrical release. Let's start with what I loved about this masterpiece--actually, that will be impossible to fit within these pages, so let me just discuss the highlights. The opening piano piece sets the tone immediately. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but here Sherwin Liu paints on an aural canvas-- creating images, evoking emotions, with his haunting harmonies. The editing and directing was masterful as well--presenting a tale with perfect pacing. Never rushed. Never plodding. It is as it should be. Not one frame more or less. The plot was refreshingly original. I am especially appreciative of a good storyline and this is one of the best in or out of TMO. Unlike many horror films which rely on effects to carry the film, these visual effects serve to augment and enhance the experience. I would be glad to pay to see this film, and considering I only watch an average of three films per year at the theaters, this is indicative of just how truly magnificient this is.
Easily the most sophisticated film I've seen on TMO! Immediately draws you into an engaging and mysterious story, with style oozing from every direction: atmospheric, original music, vivid characters, incredible effects and excellent editing combine to make a rivetting experience. A little unsubtle in certain lines, but strong voice talent carries the performance, with never a hitch in the wild ride. Superbly directed and masterfully realised, this is a series to watch!
Wow! Exelent soundtrack, exelent effect, exelent voice, exelent realisation, exelent storyline. Everything is exelent!! I love your movie and i'll bookmark it. I don't know how many time you spend on it but it must be enormous. Great job for this first movie from decadent picture studio.
Truly a cinematic masterpiece. I don't think it's possible to find any fault in the editing, and the "extras" you provided were well implemented - they didn't detract from the story at all, and I didn't feel like this was in any way a showcase for mods or special effects.
I loved the use of lighting and weather. It really enhanced the feel of the movie. Excellent shot choices as well. The voiceovers were exceptional, but I was expecting that coming from lizard.
What I felt was lacking was any developing of sympathy for the victims. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not, but it left me feeling more like I was being a voyeur and less like I was completely immersed in what was going on.
Being the first part of the series, I expect that some of the questions raised in this movie will be addressed as the series progresses. I look forward to seeing where you take us next!
This is truly a spectaculor collaberation and I am confident that we are going to see many, many great movies from this studio.
Boy, do I hate being the first 4 star! But if it helps...this movie is Dulcilicious!
I expected nothing but the best from you guys and I got it! This was incredible!
Great movie all around. Sherwin, excellent soundtrack!
Lizard, the visuals were stunning. The VOs were top notch.
Kate, the story and editing of this was some of the very best.
This is why people collaborate on movies. To make special ones like this!
96%
Sound - Top quality, it all areas, music, sound effects, voice overs. Fantastic work here 5/5
Quality - some of the best, or smoothest, custom effects to date, great use of scenes and top class editing 5/5
Story - This is a hollywood style story, so strong but hard to grasp at first but contant hints and reminders kept this fact to a minimum 5/5
Originality - never seen anything like it before
Effect - More of a thriller (intended)then a horror but still has a super effect, the start was very chilling but then it wavered into a story and a thriller part wasnt back till the end. 4/5
24/25 - 96% - 5 stars - This is a poweful story of a man trapped into the body of the murderer of his own wife, the film was expressed with excellent precision with the use of scenes,sound and special effect. You can tell a lot of time and dedication went into this and should get the attention it deserves. Failing to get my 100% on the effect though this is a personal opinion. If this gets anything other then 4 stars then the person who gave it should be shot, then shot again.
Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. You've woven together so many pieces of a puzzle in this film, that it really has left me without words. The characters is well described and put together. The mystery is just enough that we know what's happening and yet not what's going to happen next. The plot is complex enough to make us think, but simple enough that just about anybody can understand it. Heck, I stared at my screen for a good 5 minutes making sure I knew what just happened.
The music really fit every scene it was in and is used to perfection (or as close to it as anyone will get) to set the mood and tension. In fact, the overall feel of the movie really worked for me. The indecision of being human, the outer dark side and inner light side (kind of a cool opposite of Jekyll-n-Hyde), and the firm grip on the balance between reality and... whatever else is out there.
Really enjoyed the film and can't wait to see the next part in the series.
YOUR FINEST WORK, COLLECTIVELY OR OTHERWISE.
This is the closest thing to an actual movie I have ever seen in this medium. I was left dumbstruck and speechless at my monitor for 14 minutes (and another two afterwards) of FILM, not "movie". Simply sat staring, and deeply stirred.
Decadent Pictures and the creators of "The Afflicted" and "The Lift Chronicles" deliver an absolute masterwork here...
Transcending in its entirety the limitations of The Movies game (I forgot there were any) and delivering plot, pacing, tone, and structure in spades, they then went on to offer moving dialogue, perfect voicework, absolutely flawless editing, and every catchy camera trick and brilliant visual they could lay their hands on.
They then brought all of these elements together like a conductor bringing together an unrivaled symphony orchestra.
I look forward to your next installment, to your topping this, and now KNOW that Decadent Pictures Studios can and will do just that.
I feel privaleged.
I have just wathed the greatest movie ever to be made with The Movies, and one of the beter movies I have seen in my life using anything.
Even if I filled up this page with my review, I couldn't cover everything great in this movie.
The music was superb. It was creepy and rose with the tension, adding dramatically to the atmosphere.
The plot was original and had me wondering how you did it. The Black Cats never cease to amaze me.
The dialogue felt realistic and spooky.
The VOs..oh the VOs! Lizard has my respect as one of the greatest Voice actors I have heard.
The mods were great, added even more originality.
I am at a loss for words right now, I simply can't describe how incredible this movie was.
My all-time favorite.
Consider this nominated for a Hot Pick.
originality 10/10 i've been waiting for the plot of this film more than the actual film, thats what makes it so impressive, the story is deep and great, the "Name: Age: Occupation:" sequence is very nice, very nice indeed and the character inner torment [won't say why] is not only clear, it drove me to watch the film
diolouge: 10/10 well, you got a great VO actor that helped the film so vocally it was divine. The poetic opening won't be appreciated by many, but is by me. Theres emotion in each tone that is read, so, applause to the voice actors
sound 9/10 some awkward silences at parts, mostly the music really flowed well and helped tell the begining of the story as well as make the words sound more poetic than it was actually written, fantastic as it set the emotion and mood of most moments throughout, and holy crap that girls sound effect was eeire...did u like actually kill someone to get that squeel?
editing 9/10 the part where it shows both their faces [won't say what happens] is poorly paced, it builds up but moments to slow, other than that the transitions were smooth and helped make the film special, the cinemactic opening was great because of its Camera Angles as well as many other factors, the transitions of fades as well as cranes and such made the film great
PawPrint Factor 10/10 PawPrint of course. my anticipation of this film was so great i'm amazed that i liked it, and trust me, i liked it
48/50 Great film, from the begging which is poetically written to capture the viewer from dragging fantastic voice overs that gradually guided us through the film upkeeping the film, the feelings it brought out in the viewer, to the ending, which only leeds on to the "next" ending which i await again. With so much anticipation and known skill from you, expect many people to masterfully critique every aspect of this film more than they would a regular one, but with my spy glass i found few things wrong with it, and that was after a second viewing, the first time i was to enthralled to even notice time go by, and when the film ended i was shocked to learn it was on the longer side.
Overall, another great picture, and a great start to a virtual "Dream Team" that will bring us many, many great films to come as well as more films like this [i hope]. Everyone who hasn't seen this film doesn't understand the genre thriller, or the genre horror for that matter. I walked away without a smile from the film, but i don't think i was supposed to smile, i think that tingly feeling that resinates in me is what everyone will feel after they watch the picture
PawPrint : 5 Stars : Great
Wow! I`m always looking forward for new releases from Sherwin Liu and Kate Lee, and I have to say your new cooperation with Lizard works really great! This is decadent in meaning opulent: a great story which slowly reveales itself, great believable characters, superb vo`s and a dreamlike quality to the movie, which is achieved by the use of awesome special effects and seamless editing... I thoroughly enjoyed it! Great sounds and music make this a real cinema-like experience, I highly recommend it! Can`t wait for part two!
This is another movie that puts me in awe in how "meticulous" you are with your movies. The editing was superb. The custom backdrops were eye candy, and the music was well chosen. When the person was switching personalities, I hardly noticed. The editing was that good. The writing was superb, as always. I can't emphasize enough how well this movie was made. The ending just kept me hanging and drooling for more.
This was a masterpiece. The VO paved way for a great emotion. The story was great also. How you put everything together set the mood perfect. I'm downloading this movie for sure. I can't say much bad about this movie except for one little spot. I think he says theres no address but he knows where to go. Other than that little spot this was PERFECT!!! This gets my FULL MEAL MOVIE AWARD. FREAKING MARVELOUS.
Technically this is an masterpeice, but I just wasn't drawn into it that much, it's got good lines, good everything, but it just feels like theres something missing to me, I don't know what. The pace of it, it just seems to drag for me, with lines you don't really need. I still reccomend it though.
