Film Description
Here at last is Part 2 of my comedy space saga. If you missed Part 1, I have included a summary at the beginning of this one so you will know what is going on. This is my longest movie to date at TMO, and once again it has been made using only the the tools provided with the game.

Apparently, the soundtrack got out of synch by about 1 second during the upload.
All VOs are performed by me

Yeoman Joe zips and zaps through into the twenty-seventh century and beyond in the manically funny sequel to one of the most ruthlessly hilarious films on TMO. With this installment, the wacky fever dream quality of the series is kicked up a notch, with some wickedly funny (and wickedly perverse) writing that strokes that funny bone until the spasms made me puke with glee. I'm serious. I nearly lost it with the "you did all the work" bit.

The voice acting, again, really steals the show here. It's hard to believe that's all you -- the impersionations are really superb.

I could go on and on about this movie, Rposhard. But I have to go to sleep. Just know that this movie makes me giggle with glee.

Such brilliance work in your screenplays Rpo. I love this series and this second part did not disappoint. You got a good sense of humor and put it into context effectively. All the gags were very funny. Loved how each character kept relating to the film??s integrity and so many other elements got me engaged.

The first thing that came to my attention was Yeoman Joe talking about the voice-overs missing at the start. Loved how you switched between voices and subtitles during at this point. A different technique for an intro which worked well. You had me confused too, but I understood what you were trying to portray. Loved the story, continued on with the same excitement from the previous and loved all the humor arise.

Again, the Voice-overs were just exceptionally good. Clear to precision and a very unique voice. Especially having to do all 4 characters, a superb effort! I admire your specialty in this area. You really developed the characters to be so unique and this added another strength in this production.

A great ending too?It was a really well scripted story, which your skills implemented made this performance such a treat. Full of laughs! Couldn??t find any plot holes, which means you??ve put great effort and time into this. Perfection. Such great comical humor involved. Just those quotes gave this performance the laughs it needed. Didn??t need to be obscure or rude, just simple and comical, such as the purple uniform gag haha. Great work here.

Overall, another splendid episode of Yeoman Joe. He is becoming a big idol to me, just a hilarious bloke and the progression of this series is only getting so stronger. Just amazing talent you have to keep giving the audience laugh and the perspective is really strong and insightful. Again, fantastic work put into this and I cherish this series to be one of my favorites! Who could not love this purple uniform geek looking character?

Yoeman Joe, Ensign Carl, The Captain and Xanadien are all very well developed characters

Observation: This is the sequel to the comical Sci-Fi series known as Yeoman Joe. It picks up from where the original Yeoman Joe left off.

Review: There a lot of good things in this movie and I'd like to point them out. There are some new gags in this film such as the Subtitle vs VoiceOver bit in the prologue. You also have some blatant plot elements such as the mention of foreshadowing and the mention of typical Hollywood stereotypes such as people watching a movie just for the special effects, or the movie-maker not worrying about anything as long it makes money.

The purple uniform gag is back and you extended it bit by including a story ... which was forgotten. The interupted flashback fade gag also returns by having Xanadine interupt it.

The dialogue is really comedic in this film, which includes the idiotic responses between Yeoman Joe and the Captain. "It's brain sucking, not brain munching."

I also liked how you edited the fight scenes by including some conversational bits in between cuts, in addition to the witty dialogue to go with it. It's awesome stuff!

Overall, this film is grand and for 12 minutes, it was worth it!

In it's heyday in the 1940's Republic Pictures could not have done better making a space opera! Despite all his problems (reported recently to the The Hollywood Tattler) with the studio and having to work with Mona Lovejoy the star of the film Joe Roganski turns in a comic performance of stunning depth and feeling. Joe Roganski is by far the greatest star at RichPosh Productions. The studio would be lost without his massive talent not to mention his expanding waistline.

Despite Roganski's recent complaints about having to work opposite Mona Lovejoy she proves once again she is RichPosh Productions answer to Maria Montez. She delivers the goods as a sexy and conflicted alien love goddess even though she is hindered somewhat by acting through a rubber head. All that is missing for her in this installment is a slinky dance in a human sacrifice production number before a glittering alien idol. We can only hope for such a treat in a sequel.

Ben Smedstad is servable in the role of the Zombiefied captain. You can??t ask much more from a B character actor than what you get from him in the film.

The film moves along at a heart pounding pace and is chock full of adventure and romance. There is something here for everyone from nine to ninety nine.

The screenplay by Rposhard is nothing short of comic genius. And with Yeoman Joe 2 - Captain Zombie he proves his chops as a great comic writer.

The voice acting by Rposhard adds just the right touch of over the top delivery that makes this film a camp classic that even John Waters would approve of.

Unlike many of the cheap productions of the studio in the past they obviously threw some money at the screen for here there are wonderful and imaginative sets filmed in stunning breathtaking Technicolor. The use of this process brings the creepily beautiful skin tones of star Mona Lovejoy to startling life. We can only hope this struggling studio has the smarts to make all its future films in the three strip process.

RichPosh Productions has somehow in spite its reputation as a Poverty Row studio turned out a film of towering achievement. One can only hope that the studio realizes that with more Yeoman Joe films they might just elevate themselves to the artistic and monetary heights of such major studios in town as Double D, FoDoog, StevenKreg, and the mighty Imperium International.

Plot and Characterisation - 38/40 - The characterisation was spot on! Yeoman Joe is an instant classic and all the other characters are very unique and perfect for the comedy genre. Perfect characterisation! Well done!
The plot was very good for a comedy one although didn't quite have enough twists and turns to keep me gripped the whole way through.

Soundtrack, subs, mods and SFX - 19/20 - Great use of subtitles in conjunction with voice overs and great VO's, especially as they were all done by one person! The music used was also very good and added to the atmosphere of the movie and the comedy. The only faults were that you could have added an effect to the alien's voice over to make it sound less human and also it would have been better with more than one voice actor as it was quite obvious at times that all VO's were done by the same person, although most of the time you could tell the different characters voices apart.

Dialogue - 10/10 - Perfect! Each character spoke in a unique way, all lines spoken added to character or plot in some way and basically this was just faultless. Well done!

Editing - 17/20 - Good job on the fight scene, seemed like an original action sequence. There were a couple of continuity issues where two characters would appear in the same place in consecutive shots. Also the general pace of the movie was quite slow. There were quite a few cuts that could have been quicker to keep the pace up and hold the audience's interest better. Generally very good though.

Orion's Bonus Marks - 10/10 - I haven't seen a movie this funny in a long time. Great job!

Total - 94/100 - 1 mark off the Golden Asteroid Award! Well done!
94% - Easily a 5 star movie! This movie has scored the highest so far out of my whole review thread, well done!

Aliens, inter-species relationships, kung fu, zombies...and comedy...a recipe for a totally deranged and highly entertaining movie.

Great comedy dialogue, excellent editing and VOs and a nice little story thrown in for good measure.

Great work.

Editing : 4/4 - Can't really complain about the editing. You could have shaved a few seconds off here and there, but nothing that would majorly effect the overall movie.
Dialogue :3/3 - Voice overs were clear and easy to understand. And the subs were easy to read.
Plot/Originality :5/5 - As the movie progresses the plot continues to develope and gets a bit more interesting.
Entertainment : 4/5 - Had some good humor. Was a bit long, but I wasn't noticing the time until about the 9 minute mark.
Music/Sound :3/3 - The music you used was pretty effective for the movie.
Total 19/20 - 5 stars - Excellent

I'm basing this review on entertainment value alone...

because the Yeoman brings plenty of it.

This is a departure for me since I'm admittedly a drama fan and usually seek plot, pacing, tone, and structure - with action I can let a lot of that go in favor of tension, confrontations, and bullets - with comedy, I can let quite a bit go in favor of sheer laughs.

And Yeoman Joe IS funny. Very funny, often very very funny, and occasionally outright hilarious. From the opening VO/no VO lines/subtitles and the lovers conversing in the afterglow of forbidden alien sex, to "Look, there's George Romero", to that damned interstellar communicator operator, I laughed often and from the belly.

If you get camp in any form, you'll probably get what's going on here - this is silliness for the sheer joy of silliness, and well-executed silliness at that - a fine line here, but one that Joe manages to tap-dance over and around well.

It's really, really, really tough to nitpick this film for editing when the sound synch issue (good Christ, do I feel your pain) is clearly responsible for most of the critiquiqing that may have occurred... but I would have if I could have, R. It just doesn't seem right to point out those things on this one, and I was usually too busy laughing, anyway.

The movie ran long, but did a better-than-average job of keeping up the pace. Sci-fi (which I usually loathe), zombies, alien love, and a pretty constant stream of clever one-liners (along with a few simply brilliant ones), came together far better than I expected when I watched the film's zip-trailer recapping what had come before. I was expecting cheese, and got camp.

I'm way cool with that, Rposhard.

The Yeoman has a new fan in me.

Film on, fellow createaholic, film on!

I wasn't really a Yoeman Joe fan before this movie. Now I am. Rposhard, you did an excellent job with this. You did some things in this flick that were not only original, but perfect for comedy, like The character commenting on the subs and such.

The humor was much, much better in this film. I thought the others were a little too dry. It is also hard to do comedy with only subs. VO is a must for comedy in my opinion.

The editing was very well done, as usual in your movies. The story didn't need much, since it was set up in the first one. I don't believe that a comedy needs much of a story anyway. As long as it makes you laugh.

Excellent stuff here. I think your comedy gets better with every film you make. I have always liked your serious stuff and I am glad the comedy is now catching up. Great job!!

MovieWood E! Editor...

Hard to believe this movie was 12 mins & 31 secs. I was completely entertained throughout. Excellent Job. I wish I saw the previous one. Top Notch VO's. If I felt like I watched for 12+ minutes, you would of scored low... but it was over too wuick. Even with the minor editing glitches, this movie was well worth the price of admission...
Until next time,
We'll see you in The Movies!

quite an amusing film, i had some good laughs out of it. The VO was top knotch and just some good stuff all around!

Only flaws i saw was in the editing and plot. The editing was kind of sloppy at points, and could have definately used some more PP work. Also there were a bunch of useless scenes that could have been removed / trimmed a bit, not only polishing up the movie, but also cutting the length down a bit.

but a very solid 4 stars

I told you that i didn't like Sci-Fi but this was a comedy in a Sci-fi setting so that's good ;)
About the movie; You've already seen that I gave it 5 stars.
The Humor in the movie is funny. especially at the start of the movie.
The VO is good too and an extra compliment that all voice were done by you.
The story is a little weak but there is coming another part so there can be some development.

I liked the quick intro you did at the beginning of the movie in which it showed what happened in the previous episode, many more studios with "series" should definatly follow that example as there will be many people who refuse to go through every single episode just to understand the story presented before them. I found it a odd yet amusing idea that the narator had no voice but the characters did. Even the little jokes brought a quick smile to my face such as "May I ask you a question?" "Sure, now ask me another one!" I quite like the voiceovers, they sound oddly like a few other voices i've seen on real comedy shows, plus they came through loud and clear.

It's an odd comedy and for 12 and a half minutes i'm surprised it managed to keep it's entertaiment value for so long. There were fairly good music choices most of the way through, and they didn't clash with the voiceovers as i've seen so many times before. I think editing could have been a little tighter in some places, but then again if you did that some of the voiceovers proberly wouldn't fit properly.

Excellent voiceovers and a very unique brand of humor is to be found in this odd mix of scifi and comedy. Thanks for the recap in the beginning. This certainly got more than a few laughs out of me, and the careful scripting is also thoroughly enjoyable. However I felt the visual aspect of the movie a bit laggging behind in the high energy and humor present in the voiceovers and subtitles. Nevertheless, this was a fun twelve minutes I've spent.

RonH - MovieWood E! Review:

Hello everyone! Today I will be talking about "Yeoman Joe 2 -- Captain Zombie!" a new sci-fi/comedy flick from rposhard.

Originality: This film is a very different take on love, and also manages to make us laugh. I must say I have never seen a comedy like this before...at least not on TMO. This is a very nice original series ?? to bad I missed the first one.

Plot/Story: This has a nice recap in the beginning for those who have not seen the first installment (like me). Basically (starting where it last left off) Joe is still in love with this alien that they met and his fellow crew-member was turned to a zombie and confronts him. The ending to this was one of the best "give me more" endings on TMO. I really can't wait for the next one!

Subs/VO: Excellent work in this script, and very talented VO - I love how some people do all their VOs in a movie and actually pull it off amazingly. Great job here and some really nice funny jokes!

Editing: The editing was nothing special and nothing horrible, sometimes people appeared in the same places as other characters and it didn't look like the expression the animation was expressing fit the VO at some times, but overall it flowed nicely and these minor things did not have major impact on the enjoyment factor of the film.

WOW Factor: Very impressive work overall - I'm impressed, and I must admit I had my doubts but this turned out to be a really great film and I enjoyed it- Great Job!

Originality: 8/10
Plot/Story: 8/10
Subs/VO: 9/10
Editing: 7/10
WOW Factor: 8/10

Final Score: 40/50 = 80%
Four Stars!

Yeoman Joe is back, and somebody is out to kill Yeoman Joe. But who, and why?

It continues in the same style and flair of the original, with more storyline, more jokes, and more seashell phones. There was a good range of humor sprinkled throughout this movie. My personal favorites were the self-referential jokes (the prime directive, the subtitles, the foreshadowing, etc). The fight scene was well-edited to combine traditional action sequences, comedy elements, and dialogue. All the characters were well portrayed with good VO's to match the characters.

Some scenes seemed to go a little too long, such as the subtitles at the start, the picnic, and the fight. Some of the VO's lacked appropriate emotions, though this could be put down to the campy nature of the movie. Some of the visuals while talking did not match well with the script, and some overused the same camera angle (shots of Shatter and Joe in the same place).

Overall, I thought this was a very good comedic scifi, and a worthy sequel to the first. I look forward to more of the story of Yeoman Joe.
