In your review of my movie you asked for a real rating. I'm assuming that's what you meant by "Please do not give us 3 stars just because we gave you 3 stars". Normally I do rating exchange to help in getting Virtual Dollars for me and folks I rate for. But, you asked for a totally real and honest rating. I respect that, it shows me someone who takes this as an art and wants to improve. So I will oblige and give you a fully devoted and honest rating.
Theme/Plot
The concept of Big Brother Murder House is a common murder mystery theme. You gather a group of people into a restricted area and they start dying one by one while the others try to figure out who the killer is. It??s not a bad theme, but it??s not truly original.
3 stars
Story
Story is different than plot; it??s the narrative of your tale. Your story lacked substance and was pretty contrived. There was no lead in, no true angst or animosity and no rising tension. The argument about the dishes was not strong enough motivation.
1 star
Voice
It was obvious that one person did all the voices. Though, it was a yeoman??s effort in making them different; making each voice as distinct as possible. But, it wasn??t obvious is the voices were synched, and they seemed to not really match up a lot. This fact lowers your score, but for your voice-effort alone it??s pretty good.
4 stars
Editing
The scene cuts were average at best. You could have done a lot more to try and paint the mood of the story by shifting perspectives and getting more establishing shots. How you show, and what you show, can aid in creating tension. It might mean the scene is a bit longer, but what it does is build in the audience that ??something bad is going to happen?? feeling.
2 stars
Music
Music itself can be used to convey a mood of a scene. Music is a potent tool for the story teller. I don??t think you changed up the music at all and could have just kept the stock music that is automatically tossed in there.
1 star
Your total score for the 5 areas is:
3 + 1 + 4 + 2 + 1 = 11 / 5 = 2.2 stars. This rounds out to 2 stars.
What could have improved this score?
Better use of establishing shots, poignant close-ups, rising tension aided by music and more setting generating dialogue.
