A Five Star Film!

With Solid voice acting and a lovingly crafted script the film is very well implimented. The addition of the period music like Rolling Stones adds to the "Vietnam War" feel.

My only suggestion's are to kick the music into another gear or cut it when a fight begins as the first battle would have been a lot more energised with a more appropriate track and the second was a little too epic.

I look forward to part two!

Whoever did this vietnam flick is a real war buff. A lot of little details and good voice work, (except the yelling scene which is more a whisper!), helps this this tale about one of the most redundant wars in history, really stand out! Kudos!!

The movie overal was decent, but nothing more than another action movie.

Plot: Good plot for the movie, no real plot holes to mention.

Script: Well written.

Special FX: VO's were a bit weak in some areas, but were done well overall. Some parts when you wanted to scream you did exactly what I do, you hold back and therefore the line becomes quiet and strained sounding like you really wanted to make it sound good, but you were afraid to be heard by those around you.

Costumes: Good overall.

Sets: Some sets had a random horse, and the dog (though there was use of dogs in the military) was a bit random too.

Overall a decent movie, but there are some things that could have been done better to beef it up.

This is a decent attempt at a Vietnam War movie but it's sadly let down by a number of flaws.

A tightly written and accomplished script was let down by poor voice acting and a totally inappropriate soundtrack that drowned out a lot of what was being said. This is a pity because the screenplay was generally excellent and the rapport between the soldiers came across really well. As much as I love Paint it Black (it's my mobile ring tone, lol) and Bad Moon Rising there was absolutely no need for that music.

I appreciate it's difficult to do voice overs - I'm in the process of putting a film together and that' one of the areas I'm most concerned about - but there was no attempt at all to differentiate between the different characters' voices which meant that combined with the music in the background it again made it hard to tell exactly who was saying what and to whom it was being said.

And why were the shouting scenes done in a whisper? That really detracted from the overall quality of the film and undermined it's main assest, the script.

Also, a horse randomly appeared in one scene - a script writing oversight I imagne - but the inclusion of the dog was very strange. In all the reading I've done on Vietnam, and all the studies I've done on the conflict, I've never heard of any dogs being used for tracking purposes or anything else for that matter.

I also thought the film ended quite abruptly - and why were the Americans ambushed when it was them actually doing the ambushing at the end? A guy creeps up on a VC, breaks his neck while all the time about seven other VC are sitting by watching with guns at the ready? That just didn't make sense to me.

Anyway, enough of the negative, I don't want to be excessively critical just want to write an honest and constructive review. On the positive side, as well as the script, the action scenes were well put together, considering what we have to play with in The Movies at the moment and the characters were easily defined in their costumes (not sure about the sunglasses though). The scenes of them moving through the jungle were well thought out also.

I've given this film two stars because action alone doesn't make a movie and there some quite basic errors of judgement, albeit well intentioned, that significantly detracted from the film's overall quality. I hope this is a useful review for the director, I'm not here to simply criticise and there are signs here of a promising talent. Taking a step back from the film once it's completed, before releasing it and just checking the overall feel may help beacuse with just a few minor adjustments this could have been a really fine film.

I think anyone who attempts a Vietnam movie at this stage deserves a pat on the back because at the moment, and until S&E comes out, there's not much scope for a really great Vietnam movie. Which makes this film's unfortunate weaknesses all the more disappointing.

A solid performance.. A great story implemented well. A great dramatical war movie which portrays the typical elements we know of the vietnam war. It had some good structure which allows the plot to flow very well. And the environment you inputted really depicted the real fell of the vietnam war zone. Other factors I liked was the use of action scenes, they . The VO??s were also good, but it seemed you didn??t want to express your voice to a certain pitch. It sounded you were shouting in a whispering tone. This is not a bad thing but why couldn??t you give more drive in your Vo??s which would have made the atmosphere a bit better. And I love that song? Paint it black! Such a great vietnam war song, reminds me of the movie Full Metal Jacket- which I am a big fan of.

In general, this was a solid effort, you put a lot of emphasis in the story and editing which I really liked. The characters played their roles well, which was executed nicely. A typical vietnam war film which really emphasized your passion on this feature. gave its true meaning of war, and your skills have portrayed that effectivley..

Overall a good action movie with a nice story, but nothing that stands out of the mass of action movies on this site. VOs were of good quality for the most part. It was quite an enjoyment to watch this movie!
