Film Description
H_U_M_A_N: A short comedy with a robot VO and english subtitles.
I had a bit of a stressful day when I made this movie and it helped me to un-stress, so the humour is rather daft. I made the robot voices with a text-to-speech program, not perfect but okay.

I made the custom credits myself.

One of the 12 winners in the Warrington Film Festival held in April this year ???(???¿???)???

That was really good. I like the idea of robots having humans as pets. My favorite part of the movie was the description of a woman and a description of a man.

I loved it! A great first VO, well done!

I loved the humour, the way you made fun of men and women was so cool. You had a lot of really good ideas in there.

I particularly liked the Haynes manual, very nice touch.

I love robot movies, and this one just did it for me. I was smiling all the way through. Only got a small floppy, LOL.

Very funny!

Some good gags in this. I found the constant clicking in the VO and the pauses between lines a bit grating, but it was still funny and well worth watching.

This is very cute. I enjoyed it a great deal. Good sense of humor, and a great deal of interesting parallels between looking for something in a computer, vs. in a human. My only issue is, a few times I could not tell which robot was which in the dialogs... It seemed like you needed to have the camera stay focused a bit more on the speaker. This wouldn't have been so with humans, because facial expressions and lack of moving lips would be a give-away, but with robots you can't tell who is speaking without some help. Other than that, this was a very cute film, and a nice contribution. -- C

I really liked that... its kinda creepy to think with the advancements we keep seeing in technology.... probably not in our lifetimes but you never know.

The voice over work was perfect, I wondered how you got it, it must have taken you a while to get the speeds right if you use the windows one... if not I would love to know what program you used.

Brilliant humour. Short, simple cinematography raised to a whole other plane by a cracking comedy premise, and a wonderful script. Bloody good work, fella!

I LOVE THE FILM AND THE ROBOT VO's, but who needs robotic mods when you have a voice talent like mine. In my series "Space Morons" there is a robot character who I do the voice for with no mods what-so-ever. Many people think it is a mod, but I swear it's me tightening my throught to speak. Personally, I'd take the horse too :)

A good observational comedy, showing the human race through more logical eyes. Some basic, but very well done gender based humor that got a few smiles and grins out of me. I liked how the robots were emotional and deadpan with their lines throughout as would be expected. The editing and camerawork was basic, but filled the need of this short piece. A pleasant use of 3 minutes.

BUT I find this movie a little bit sex-descriminating in the beginning:-(
Still, good acting, and who knows, in the future it maybe looks like this...

When I read the captions �??have you got anything beta?�?? I was immediately thinking �??Beta Software�??�?� This is a fine little comedy, likable, with a good ending. The writing kept my interest, and being a pre-S&E movie, its lack of cinematic qualities is less to be criticized than it would be if it were done today.

Interesting concept here, brought together through great voiceovers and good jokes. I had something like this in mind before but never got around to making it into a movie, I'm glad to see someone has done it. Kind of like a "shopping for humans" kind of thing, the concept itself is irony, a good short comedy, good custom titles and poster, keep it up.

You know this is a great example of British humour, a little risque (small floppy), lots of witty innuendo and I sort of figure you are the sort of person that doesn't get mad, you get even? This may have even been your way of doing so. I appreciate you made this a long time ago, and what I like about this movie, is it proves that you don't need a special effect to make a good movie. Good ideas are much more difficult to come by, and this is a very very good idea.

Oh, how do I put this? Oh yeah. HILARIOUS with a capital H and a capital everything else as you can see! lol!
An absolute classic-I haven't seen anything like it before.
It's the originality that makes it special-if it was done more often my mark would have been lower.

Many funny phrases morphed into Movies scenes jokes eg 'Small floppy', 'out of his packaging', 'a good kick to get them started', and 'system clean'.

It was an extremely good movie and I hope to see LOADS more from your studio! As soon as I finished writing this I bookmarked your studio!

I watched this at the Warrington film festival. It was very funny and witty humour thoughtout. great observations and made very well with great VO's.

Editing : 3/3 - Good editing.
Dialogue : 3/3 - Vo's were well done.
Plot : 2/4 - Not the most involved of plots. You don't really need a great plot for a comedy anyways.
Scene/Prop use : 3/3 - Great use of scenes and props
Entertainment : 4/5 - Very funny, good work.
Music : 2/2 - Nice music.

Total : 17-20 5 stars - Good job.

Now that was a funny movie. The robot voices worked well, but I would have liked to hear the humans say a few things while they were being described. I guess keeping them silent adds to the idea that they're just pets on display. Good work.

This one was rather fascinating. Two robots talking about two different kinds humans. Since you used the Boxed Robot costume instead of the more sophisticated ones, I won't dock off for using a TTS program for VOs but either way, I thought I got a good kick out of it ... "He's only got a small floppy." That's classic!

It's also nice that you poked on both genders, too.

I think for a simple comical film, I think it worked for the most part. I'll give you five stars for that. :)

Not bad, not bad at all. One half of me loved this film for it's social commentary and originality. But the other half didn't like it for it's dry plot and so, so VO work. The editing was good, for the most part, and the flow of flick was nice and tight. Overall this is good little movie, it just needs a little more work in plot and VO. - 4 stars

OK...That was funny, poignant, well editted, and great VOs. Some of your lines were outstanding..."Small Floppy", "they need a kick to get them started"..

Rather cleaver.
I enjoyed this one.
VO were good as well as editing.
I do think the end punch would have been a little stronger, in order to elevate this movie to 5 stars, but its a really nice movie.

i think the V.O.'s needed to be mixed down a little more is a multi-track program, then inserted into the film, as the sound balancing was off. other than that, this was a very clever flick. nice job

Short, sweet and well delivered. Lacked a big finish but thats a small complaint when put up against the overall effect. Effective little movie that has potential as a series if you can keep coming up with the material.

The Voice Overs in my opinion were class and sounded just I like I reckon any robot should sound like. The sparse use of custom backdrops at the begginning and end was a nice touch and I felt the idea as a whole was very clever. For me personally there was just something tiny missing. There was no BIG joke that you remember after the movie is over. But the evenly spaced robot jokes made this interesting and entertaining throughout. I can see your a man with many insights into the pros and cons of people in comparison to horses. This worries me :)

Loved it! Had alot of funny taglines about the humans. Kept me chuckling throughout . Was a very original movie, besides the fact that robots someday owning robots as pets has been heard of before. The editing was a little bad at one spot though where they had the male washing in the tub I didn't understand why you put that. I know you were talking about being clean etc. but It would have been better without though.
Good job with the VOs they were great!

Cute and fun...I enjoyed the dialogue and premise of the story. It would have been a nice touch to show some dogs in a cell too when they were referenced. Great job!

I loved it! A great first VO, well done!

I loved the humour, the way you made fun of men and women was so cool. You had a lot of really good ideas in there.

I particularly liked the Haynes manual, very nice touch.

I love robot movies, and this one just did it for me. I was smiling all the way through. Only got a small floppy, LOL.

You had a good idea, it was funny and even had a final laughter. In the VOs were some bzzt'n crks which was a little disturbing. The subs shouldn't start before the VO, i think. It might be better to let them on a bit longer instead.

Nice original concept. Well directed and editted. I realize it was a short movie but you could have incorporated more scenes. The voices were a nice touch considering the plot. Good job!
