Film Description
Concerning waiting, the people we meet and the situations we get in, while doing it.

This movie is loosly inspired by a play by Sartres

The sound is still not great, though better.

Three scenes should be reshot, but when I try to do that, all the other scenes got all goofed up, so rather then reshoot the entire movie, I let them stay the way they are.

Thanks to Elin, me girl, who co-wrote the dialouges with me.
Thanks for music goes to

Fantastic work of you and your girlfriend! It started as a kind of "Waiting for Godot" version of The Movies, then it gave the same feeling as "The Cube" just to go to the afterlife-discovery ("Afterlife", a Chinese movie)... to finally build up the tension in a spine-chilling finale... The voice acting was great, of every character, and the music and editing were well done. Truly a masterpiece! I hope this one will shoot to a top spot in the charts soon.

wow ... just wow!

Originality - 10 - Very original.
Plot/Story - 9 - Maybe a little bit more story could have been involved, or a bit less of the "overly dramatic" parts, It was so nearly one of the best stories i have seen, it just seemed a bit too over done ... if that makes sense!?
Dialogue - 8 - The dialogue was a little wooden in places. and some of it was muffled, but for the most part this was great work!
Editing - 8 - This was so well edited, nothing was wrong with the editing in this movie at all!
"wow factor" - 10 - I loved this movie! :)

Overall - 45 - 5* - This was great stuff! I think i just found a new studio bookmark!

Very intelligent script which built up to a logical and satisfying climax. You really played the end out perfectly. Congrats on a really different film. The only fault I could find was with the VO's (CEO) he didnt sound right.

You are some kind of geniuos, right? This movie was really cool. I would had cut a few things here and there but the result is still good. Good VOs, good use of the set and scenes, marvellous story... Congrats for another good movie. :)

LOL yes I can see what you mean =) Our films are similar in terms of the punchline at the end but I guess on a site with thousands of flicks its bound to happen a fair bit. I suspect we both probably watched a few of the old horror movies where by the story often revolved around this sort of thing. What I find interesting is the differant approaches we had to what is fundamentally the same story; as you pointed out, you did in words what I did in flashbacks.

The editing was very good in the film and I think you have the edge over me in terms of VO if I am honest. When I saw the last scene with the flames I laughed alot as you can imagine...I think we both wanted something dramatic at the end that represents hell and few things do that better than fire!!

All in all I enjoyed this flick!

Oh and thankyou from refraining from slapping a nasty remark on my review like 'you nicked me idea!' alot of people would have done that but I think we both can see we have each crafted our own little bit of original work!!=)

as for what you said on my review. well, i take all your points on board. but i tend to do things totally different from others. thats why the narration was a little different. and i agree with the ending. but, i will take all on board and learn :) thanks

Great movie plot but the VO's and editing need work. Still, the premise behind the the film was original and inspiring. Keep em coming!

Absolutly wonderful script but with rough editing this movie could have been so much more.

*Orginality 9/10 Fresh and somewhat new to the TMO community. Score would be lower if I compared it to actual films outside TMO. But having the guts to stick it in a game where kids play and have it be judged by them..Ill keep it high.
*Story/Plot 10/10 Rich in flavor with a freaky diky plot.
*Dialogue 4/10 Heres where the problems started. Though the dialogue itself in wording was actually ok the delivery was horrible. To try and shoot the whole movie on one set (which the script called for) this caused so much higher stress on your acting to show emotions and build climax for the ending. The dialogue was too spaced out..delivery was too slow..and everything seemed emotionless. So by the time the movie ended I as the viewer thought the ending in the script was good but really I just didnt care..no wow factor.
*Editing 6/10 well you stated in your description the problems you had. sound and reshoots coulda helped. Remember to overshoot like crazy before you shoot. Never know what you stumble upon in a positive way when certain scenes come together. Music seemed like you just recorded it through your mic lol.
"Wow Factor" 6/10 I was wowed by the script and totally disappointed by the outcome.

35/50 gunna give 4 stars anyway even though the score says 3.. just because i think if yuo reshot this one and did a better job with editing and dialogue you could have a top 25 movie.

The delivery of dialogue is too forced, not quite stilted, but this is made more noticable by odd gaps in conversation tempo. The story doesn't have much to carry it through the first few minutes, establishing the setup could have been done in one fifth the time, IMHO. Perhaps it was necessary to drag the intro out before going with the punchline here, but I'm reminded of many other films that have used this plot device to be impressed once it arrives 2 and 1/2 minutes into the film (thinking Giuseppe Tornatore's 'A Pure Formailty' et al). After the punchline is delivered, conversation reverts to the mundane. I appreciate the real effort that went into making this, but I'm not terribly enthusiastic about this film.

It was good, but the voice overs were slightly corny, and the script sort of flast. It built up nicely to hell, with it gradually getting darker etc... But it was pretty obvious. Still a nice movie.

- Apocryphon

Nice use of claustrophobic set and disconnected dialogue. Premise is a familiar one but style and delivery were very different, avoiding overwrought melodrama.
Sound quality was not so good for me, and though the editing was overall good there were some scenes that I thought could have been better handled.
Great effort to bring some depth and thought to a generally cliched genre.

Great story (the plot and characters were very strong). Even better acting. There was a bit of popping on the mic. You could try wavelabs to edit that out. I also enjoyed the music very much.

Sorry, i found the whole thing mediocre at th best a slow and boring at the worst. I did like the editing and the general direction, but i found the whole thing a bit of a disapointment, this story has so much potential and yet it seemed to be wasted. Next time i think you should really put your thought into the story!

A great film, with Vo that was spot on, even if it was a little loud at times. That's okay.. it's what I have a volume control for. Now let me consult the chart for your score. 89/100

Brilliant. I must bow down to this wonderful and original concept that you gave me.

There are twists that follow and I just felt overwhelmed.

The character development was intriguing and I felt like you described each character in detail.

The music sometimes overtook the voiceovers but aside from that it was really good.

You set a tone and you followed it. I was sort of in an abyss when I was listening to your story. You gave me a sense of feeling how cruel people can be for their selfishness reasons. Just so they can have pleasrue with a prostitute...or because they are jealous of their sister...or because they needed money...

Well executed movie.

However the editing could've been improved. Like you said...You didn't feel like putting another scene when you found out you lost the scenes in Post production. However well thought out movie.

Wonderful!
I have seen two vesions of this drama. But the maker of this film has does it justice. The editing was average and the VO's could have used some work as well...but I give it 5 stars due to the fact the it is very hard prosses to complete your films perfectlty. Obviously this film took a longtime to produce and great care went inot it.I give it 2 thumbs up!

(This review was written by Kate Lee) This was a different kind of movie! Slow dialogues create strange and eerie atmosphere that serves the movie well, although I was not sure if that was intentional. I felt there were some parts with a bit rough editing and points where the characters?? behaviors or movements did not fit the situation very well? The gradual revelation of the plot and stories of each character was quite well executed. Lovely!

I got it..........
You done a remake of "huis clos" from jean paul sartres
A very original idea.
Hell it is others as he wrote.
I have to thanks you for this.
Voices were really well done.
I will not reveal more to not spoil others pleasure.
Somes scenes could have been made stronger by some cutes.
But i am delighted by the drama you created, you took a big challenge and done it well.

I thought I enjoyed this particular movie.

A lot of things worked in this movie. It looks like this movie is about testing the sanity of each character. Each character was developed to a degree and we finally knew the truth for them as we get to the end. It's rather interesting that music started to play when the characters started to get more involved in their past lives. In the end, they finally realized why they're in that room.

Your use of music was good as it played when it needed to. I also like the VOs as well. I thought the CEO's VO was hilarious.

Obviously, the chances of them going to heaven is not great based one what they did before ending up in The Room. That then results in what happens to the room in the very end of the movie.

I think what could use a little work would be the woman's VO. I hear some air-blasts during her plosive b- and p-sounds. A pop-filter would work but you could also try holding the mic straight to your nose.

Other than that, I thought this was a great movie. The story for each of the three characters was touching and the suspense brought it to five stars. Great work!

That was certainly a different story :)
I enjoyed the suspense and the music was perfect. However it did drown out the ending voice a little.
Very good film.

Simply fascinating. Suspenseful, with a big punch. A few editing flaws I couldn't ignore, but all in all a Dulcilicious movie!

There are some great threads out there about voiceovers - you might want to check a few out. With a better quality VO, I think your movies will soar.

DAMN!! really nice movie man pretty deep too, you know what though I think this story would be awsome for a real movie you know, GREAT JOB man.

I think it's not really a horror movie but a work of art. A serious work about people meeting each other, making discoveries about themselves, and finally reaching the final conclusion. Well, I must admit I watched a movie a few days ago that is almost identical to yours ("Hotel Death"), so I wasn't that suprised about the story or the ending. (I see that you uploaded your movie earlier; still, I don't think that "Hotel Death" is a ripoff, I think the similarity is just pure coincidence.)
Back to your movie: I really liked the dialogues - I think you and Elin made a wonderful job. I loved the way the conversation turned from the first, hesitating sentences into fear and anger, and then to the touching confessions, up to the brilliant end line. ("I think we're not waiting.") The VO's were average - the female voice was very good, but the businessman's voice could be better.
I also loved the way that you slowly, almost unnoticeably turned the scene into more and more sinister. The music in the background also fit perfectly with the mood of the scene.
Great work!

I didnt get in trouble much in school. Rather had a good time. Glad to see someone not afraid to do v.o. You did a very nice job! The only flaw i saw on v.o. was the sound diped when he said,"i gambled my money away".Not in that context but you get the point. I'm sure you viewed your films more times than any fan. I know i did. As Far as the story. I liked it. The v.o. always helps makes things more interesting.Wanted to give it a four. But i realize hard work and effort when i see it.

Originality:10/10 Pretty impreesive work here,Haven't seen muchlike it at all on the TMO.

Plot/Story: 9/10 My only thought here is ,maybe a more surprising or shocking way to come to the truth of where they were. Not a big complaint ,but it didn't surprise me.

Dialogue:9/10 Well written, and nicley organized (except what I mentioned above). The voice acting wasn't quite up to par with the movie, but still very good.

Editing:9/10 Very good start to finish.

Wow: 9/10 I have to admit that in the beginning I wasn't very impressed, but as the story moved on and the good writing shaped the story I began to enjoy it more.As i said I just wish there was a more shocking acknowledgement of what was happening to them. This may not be your fault due to the limits of the game.Overall very nice piece of moviemaking.

Overall:46/50=5 Stars Momc= 5.0

*MOMC Review*:
When I was asked to summerize my rating philosphy for MOMC, I wrote that I`d give 5 stars when I felt that a director achieved his aim. And in a way you did that very well. I didn`t see that library as a library anymore at the end of your movie...
The only thing that makes me feel that it`s only 4.5, is that it didn`t really scare me at all.
On the other hand, you had to chose one of the given genres. And overall it is an innovative, well executed movie that deserves 5 stars - rounded up.

I don't know if you intentially made this movie that deep or not, but there are ALOT of things you can take away from this movie. Editing was done very well. I agree that I can't tell where those scenes you need to reshoot are. The dialogue seemed a little forced at some parts, but overall it was an excellent script with good VOs.

Now you've mastered the editing aspect. Extremely well done there. I'm not sure which scenes you think should be re-shot, but perhaps I'd notice them if I watched it a few times. I guess you can get overly critical of your own work sometimes. I love the way you worked with music this time. The slow build up to a crescendo, and I think the dialogue was good. You've definately cleaned up the VO's this time around. It's also a very nice twist here, and I think it's well masked until the very end. Not easy telling this kind of story in 6 minutes, but I think you've succeeded here.
