Film Description
Autumn: The Dead City

Inspired by a James Herbert story, in 1946 a deadly virus has ravaged the country and the few remaining survivors are hunted down for some unknown reason by a group with dark intentions.

The samples used within the movie are freely available from the following websites along with many other music sites on the internet...

Shapeofdespair.tk
Forestofshadows.com

As for McCains comments about Autumn not being written by James Herbert, well, it isn't. This is inspired by James Herberts '48' which has no zombies etc in it, it just happens though I've recently finished reading the Autumn series by David Moody and decided to 'borrow' the first half of my movies title as I thought it sounded good and rewrite the second half of the title a bit, very imaginative I thought...not.

Oh one more thing I've noticed there is a sound bug which causes the music to end about 10 seconds too early right at the end of the film. I've exported the movie several times and each time it happens so you'll have to go without music for the last bit.

A dark and brooding pulp-like story that succeeds in creating the right mood and in developing its characters. Captivating! Excellent job! How come I didn't hear of this one before?

Brilliant!
A post-apocalytic movie without nzombies and a killer soundtrack.
The music did a lot for this movie as for the editing I can only say it was great.

It captivated my attention, the music was a good choice for this film.
It is a fearful thought to think something like this might ever happen.

Oh, yeah, great! I have read many books from James Herbert and some years ago he was one of my favorite authors. In my opinion your movie don't need voice overs very much, because there is already so much atmosphere and it is one of the movies here, I would watch again, because I like it. As I say: great!

Please excuse my bad english. I hope, you understand, what I want to say :)

Good movie!Vo's and perhaps a change in music with different scenes
would have taken it over the top. Great editing and story telling.

I liked it and although i thought it was brilliantly edited, scripted and dircted, i just cant give it the full five stars as it isnt an original story, sorry. I did llike the subtitles in it and i loved the first person perspective of the story. I liked the ending, very, rrealistic, after survivor syndrome comes acceptance. Well done, hope to see you with an original story ext time, then itll be worth the five star!

Strange movie, but well done. Well edited and could see no real flaws. Sure VO could have improved it, but it works as it is. good job, hope to see more of your work.

The lack of voice overs was no problem but I think you over-extended your goal tell the entire story in narratives and quick shots of the action. I enjoyed the piece but felt as though the story was rushed from one element to the next, never giving us a chance to get to know your protagonist. If you hadn't mentioned any techinical errors I never would have noticed them. A very good film in all other regards, and one you might want to consider re-telling as a series of shorts which develop the principle characters in depth.

A very dark and interesting movie, but something bothered me. How could he be narrating by the end if he's *No spoilers here*?

Nice movie! The custom title screens were great, the music was good, and I felt your opening was very strong. I would recommend spell checking and grammar checking your movie, as I saw a few spelling mistakes.

Class act, from the custom titles to the tight editing and somehow you made tired old sets look fresh and somehow different.
Only major fault for me was waaaay too many fades!
Theres a whole world of stories you could fit in your setting, great job.

A great attempt of making a love/action film. It reminds me of those 80s action film and this is a good thing. Liked the use of music, the edting was good and also the sub-title was used effectively. Great job!

If ever a film was crying out for a VO this is it! A simple monologue would have helped it so much. However, it's beautifully shot and for the most part well editted. Parts of it reminded me a great deal of 28 Days Later. Great stuff.

I've never heard of Autumn being written by James Herbert. There are four books total in the Autumn series that I know of, Autumn, Autumn: The City, Autumn: Purification, and Autumn: The Human Condition, all written by David Moody.

Maybe James Herbert, and David Moody are the same person, and he writes under two diffrent names, I don't know. What I do know is that I've read all four books, and they are an excelent series.

Your movie is well done, and for the most part sticks to the theme of the books, although in the books there are Zombies. Everything about the movie is great, editing is good, music is great, script good, there is only one thing about this movie that I didn't like, it seemed very rushed.

I didn't really understand why you ended it, because there is so much more story to tell in this series, and I think you could really pull that off, considering how well you did with this film.

I did think this was a good movie the only thing that brought it down a bit was the music. It first it was ok but by the 2nd half it was a bit annoying. The story and script were good as was the editing 4/5

Good writing, good story, tale moves along well. Too much telling, not enough showing though. Didn't grab me emotionally either, but maybe that's just me. Good ending. Anyway, I'm rounding up to 4 stars to reward the hard work put into making this film.

I can't believe you ended this after just one episode! This was a great concept for a movie, it should have been at least twice as long, I'd have been happy with more. There really was enough here for a trilogy, it felt a little rushed. There seemed to be such a deep story behind this, there was room for more explaination of the plot and character development. I can't tell you how frustrated I am that there isn't going to be more of this! It was great!

Only voice-overs were missing.
