Film Description
This movie is no follow on of 'The year after faith', but is merely another one of my future-action predictions. It comes with full voice over and a whole new theme.

It is when humanity failed earth and ventured for a new home, when it found a new foe. This is only the first part so dont expect everything to be revealed yet!

It had its moments, but unfortunatley many of them were looong and drawn out. The set up scenes were far too long, long enough for me to lose intrest and look away. The VO's were good, but i found there was nothing about the story that kept me focussed. It may be that if it is edited into quicker, shorter hots and scenes, the stroy would be more interesting. Start was great, but that was by far and away the best part.

Pretty good.
I hate to give it a 3, it really has potential. It just needs work on a two things:

1. The voice acting: I understand, it seems you where working with only one or two voice actors. That's unsderstandable, but text alone would be better if you can't supply distict voices. Too many character sounded identical. Also a couple of lines didn't really have the right feel to them.

2. The post production: Learn to cut scenes down, or shorten them. At the very least try to get the length of the dialouge to be reasonably close to the length of the animation.

Other then that this was a pretty good movie, if you learn from your mistakes then I really look foward to seeing the sequal(s).

Ok sparky lets rock! I really tried to find a good thing here, but I can't. First off the top of my head, the film could of been a minute and a half shorter if I didn't have to sit through so many establishing shots that took thirty seconds each. Please cut them down a bit in the future.
If you are going to put in subtitles and then do voice overs, please actually read what is on the screen, and do not go off script.
Ok, the guys on the ship, namely in the halls, how many guys are there. I had trouble due to angles keeping up with the number. Also, does the one guy on patrol have the guy or not? Also why does he shoot the ship full of holes, and not even see the alien?
Planet side was a mess too. Horses....IIIIIN SPAAAAAACE? WHAT!?! We need to know about them, it felt like I should of known who hey were. But when I was getting to know their job, ya left um alone.

You need to work a lot on the set up of the next film. Don't just rifle the next one out, actually give it a once or even a twice over before realese.

Pull ahead for Nebula... just go to a cut away.

This is a boring movie... you draw stuff out too long. This movie could have been 3 minutes. Too many of the canned ham scenes to just watch, like we have not had to watch the same scenes with the same backdrops over and over again.

You start with a decent message, then you just go nowhere after that.

VA is there.

I liked it for the most part. The introduction was rather well done. The use of subtitles and VO worked rather well here as well. My suggestions would be to cut a few scenes down, mainly in the zooming department, as it made the film drag a little. Definately better than the average film out there.

Nice tenues ending! however the beginning wasnt good.. I mist a good music for the dark atmosphere... Dialogues are sometimes a bit unnatural but over all good film

Okay, here's some tips.

1. Edit. Learn to cut scenes -- the zoom on the planet was on screen for far too long, considering there was no voiceover at the time.
2. Mumbling. Since you have voices, turn them off. Also, use lipsync.
3. Props. If you're gonna use them, go the whole hog. Use more than just one or two -- the street scene at the start would have looked a lot better if you'd used more trees.
4. Consistency. Try to be consistent with your lighting/etc. I noticed times when the bridge of the ship seemed to go from red-lit, to normal, to red-lit, with no real explanation as to why.

Your idea was good, though I think you could have done better with it. Try and work on your editing above all, to make sure the whole thing flows nicely -- parts of it seemed to drag on (especially the zooms), while others were fine. You did alright with the editing near the end (where the guard's hunting the alien), so I know you've got the ability -- you just need to do it throughout.

Best of luck with the future of this series, though.

its a good sci-fi but i think with some editing it could be a bit more faster...
It tends to be slow sometimes..and the VO too..I propose a faster pace for this genre....nice music too...i will look forward for the sequel

Good movie. Could have had better VO, and use of lip syncing, but good nonetheless!

Very good film. As noted the VO was the weak link. A bit to monotone (like mine usually are). As far as the filming, cuts, flow, etc. you did an excellent job. The lead in to the next movie works very well too.

Good use of props to customize sets! Remember to get the lips synch. When providing VO, make sure to make them shine with the lip-synchro.
Some of the scenes were too dark, but shame on MP for not letting us change contrast and brightness on page.

I'm looking foreward to see, where you'll take the plot in further episodes. Fell free to PM me, when something new chimes up^^

Cheers!

I thought it was interesting, but your VO's stunk, especially the captain's voice (it was too monotonous for my taste). Try to fix this for part two.

Otherwise, good luck on the rest of your series.

I liked the movie well done but one thing I didn't like was the fact you didn't link the vo to the actors. Plus you should have turned off the mumbling of the characters.

Decent story arc. Because this is only part 1, it isn't clear in what direction the story arc is going. Perhaps it could have been made clear what the crew's mission is at the beginning. All we know is that Earth has been destroyed and there is this group of individuals in space looking for something. But what are they looking for? The musical score is good, and establishes atmosphere. There are certain scenes where I felt the music should be cut. However, I've never been a fan of continuous music.

First of all, it's a pretty good movie.

I really the suspence going on with the crane and static scenes. However, one thing that bothers me is the voice-acting for the Captain. It seems rather bland ... his emotions aren't that great enough in certain aspects and I think you need to work on that for the sequel.

On the other hand, I do like the last few minutes with the soldier and the alien. It hints about more action to be displayed in the next episode.

Keep up the good work.
